TULIO CFirst thing, I think the woman who helped me, Ciara, should get a raise. She’s invaluable. No matter how hard she works, based on my last rental experience, I wouldn’t recommend renting from U-Haul. I rented a cargo truck last February and again in April. I drove to the same exact location both times and I returned it with the same amount of gas as when I departed the location. My issue is the amount I had to pay. In February my total bill was $38. and in April I was charged $68. I FEEL LIKE I WAS RIPPED OFF!

TOMMY WThe the first time I rent a storege and this has never happened to me before. I got broken in to my storage unit about two weeks after renting unit. All my stuff was tossed around Jewelry, laptop, passport, social, green card etc stolen flatscreen tv broken. And just the feeling the trauma of knowing someone has been through all my personal stuff. Never again will I use that facility or will I recommend anyone.

MILDRED BIt was an issue with the systems being down, and I was told that someone would contact me once the system was backed up and they did it. I called back to confirm if the system was still down and was told that it was, but that I would no longer be able to do my reservation because someone else had already reserved the truck for later on that afternoon. I asked to speak to a manager and was asked not to be placed on hold and they did anyway and was on hold for 15 minutes Then I used another line to call in and the other person who answered the phone simply hung up on me when I arrived at the location after finally speaking to the manager, who told me that I then could rent the vehicle for the next day and I told him that that was not acceptable that I had a reservation for that day and I was going to be using That reservation when I got there the person who checked me in and checked me out was very cold and callous did not go over the car just pointed and told me where it was took my information when I had a discrepancy in pricing I was just simply told that that’s not true . When I came back to return the truck, I waited for 20 minutes before I finally saw someone who told me that they worked in the warehouse and that the person working inside was somewhere on the premise.
LATRICIA CThe van that we received smelled like a farm. It was probably from the previous renter. The handle on the sliding door was a little jammed. Sometimes, we would try to open the doors and we had to push the unlock button about 3-4 times for it to unlock.

daladier CThe staff was very courteous and helpful. However, they were understaffed and not only had to work waiting on the customers, but also get the trucks for the customers. This resulted in a very, very long wait to be waited on, even though virtually all of the information had previously been submitted online.

BREANN LI always enjoyed Michael Stiffler's service at your Uhaul location. Other Uhaul's don't accommodate as he does. He makes my experience there fast and easy. I will be returning next week, 3rd Friday of April.

RICHARD BDid not receive the dolly in the 26’ truck I rented. Customer service was unable to assist with this after telling me they could reserve a dolly for me at another location for use. Then was told to use the app to reserve dolly, both action items could not be completed. Went to another location to try and get one but they only had one person working the desk with two customers ahead. I went to Harbor Freight and purchased a dolly for $200 instead. I also still have not received my transaction receipt with the total due for rental.

STEVEN PThe truck was filthy inside and out when picked up in Long Beach. 1/2 tank of fuel. Dude who checked me out failed to mention allowed miles on the rental and I paid an extra $300 for the trip from Long Beach-San Diego-northern California. Had he mentioned only 400 miles allowed on the 1 way I would have rented a penske truck or modified my reservation details. The only thing worse than California freeways is the ride in these 26ft box trucks. Hope you don’t have anything of value in the back or any loose fillings. I swear the axles are just welded to the chassis. The wood aircraft wings I transported in slings against the walls were damaged from the rough ride. Pay the extra money and rent Penske

DOROTHY NThe truck smelled like cigarettes. I had to get an air freshener to try to make it bearable. The truck was dirty, the sun visors were both broken, the radio buttons got stuck on particular stations and the steering wheel was so worn that it couldn't possibly be cleaned. I was also very disappointed to get the vehicle with only a quarter tank. I returned the truck with 3/4 tank. Your policy of not crediting anything is when you return the vehicle with significantly more gas is not good customer service. I would prefer to get the vehicle with a full tank and I will return it with a full tank.

I rented my storage December 1 to December 31 and in that one month period my storage was broken into twice. I got a call on Dec 14 letting me know my storage had been broken into, when I went to look at my storage 15-20 boxes had been stolen. I was also told that two other people units had been broken into as well. The manager Trevor, changed the locks, called the police, and I filed a police report. Fifteen days later, on the 30th, I got another call saying my unit had been broken into again. This time they didn’t take anything, they just rearranged my boxes in way that would make it easier for them to come back and take what they wanted. Not only did they rearrange my boxes they put their own personal lock on my unit trying to lock me out of my storage. Again I was not only unit broken into, two other people was as well. But I spoke with Trevor, the manager and I let him know I would be moving my belongings and need to rent a truck. Trevor was very nice and understanding, he also waved my monthly rental fee of $268.I just want to say be careful when renting a unit at this place and make sure you get insurance or they won’t cover nothing. I had to use my rental insurance to cover the cost.

JOESHONDA H | Overall ExperienceThe manager was great in fixing what was wrong with my experience. However, the rest of my time with this U-Haul facility was a headache. I originally reserved a unit that was too small for my needs, but the one I would fit best wasn't available upon move-in. Since my first month was free, I was placed in a much larger unit that was out of my price range with the agreement from the office that at some point within the first month they would contact me and move me to the one I wanted. They never called. I attempted at the minimum, about 20-25 times to contact them because I was worried rent for the next month was going to be due and I could not afford it. THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES!!!!! Not once did I, nor the central call center get through to them. Each call would ring a few times then transfer me to the call center that is NOT on location. They would then attempt to call on their end to this location and no answer using the staff to staff point of contact. I then would be told that I would be getting a call back as all the call center could do at that point would be to send a message to the location and management to contact me. I NEVER WAS CONTACTED BACK!!!! Each time, I would have to go physically in person to handle any and all business with this location. When you temporarily don't have a car, it's not an easy task to go in and get back home as often as I had to deal with this facility. The next issue was when I finally was being switched to a smaller unit. I had just a couple of hours to do the switch as U-Box access ends at 4p so staff can return them to the warehouse. I was told to inform the staff when I emptied the initial unit so they can close out that rental and to let them know once my U-Box was all done so they can send it back. I was done by 3:30p. My key card to exit the storage area gate wasn't working and since the office isn't inside the gate, I was trapped. Tried calling the office, all calls sent to call center (surprise surprise), the kicker was when the call center tried to contact and said they couldn't do much other than try to reach the office. NOT ONE STAFF MEMBER WALKED AROUND OR ANYWHERE NEAR WHERE I WAS TRAPPED! I was in there for a total of an hour in the hot sun. I could not get out unless i drove the gate down or climbed the fence. Neither of those I wanted to deal with, so I waited and waited and waited. I was 5 minutes away from calling 911 when someone finally came to access their storage and let me out. I went to the office to inform them of this situation and they did not care at all. The most passive about it. It's also advertised on the brochures that furniture pads were included with each U-Box rental. They assured me I'd find them in there. I didn't and had to ask which they were hesitant at first and asking twice if they really weren't in there. To add, each and every time i went into the office, there was multiple staff there and not many customers to be helped and could not understand WHY THE PHONES ARE NOT HANDLED APPROPRIATELY!!!! HOW CAN THEY STAY IN BUSINESS LIKE THIS??????? HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE

Glad they fixed it but because of their mistake I am missing $243 for the next few days which shouldn’t have happened in the first place

Then, a month after I did the online move out over the mobile app, this location charged me around $150 in rental and late fees for not paying to rent the unit the next month. I had to call and be connected to customer service to explain I moved out and completed the process over a month prior. They then had to put me on hold while we waited almost 30 min for the location's office to answer their phone, which they didn't even answer on the first call. This office is extremely flawed. Needs entirely new management, possibly employees too unless there can be better oversight.

It made me feel like my stuff wasn't secure, then the team assumed I was done because my locker was temporarily empty and they closed my account so I had to waste the gas coming to restart the contract and get our locker back.

I had to Drive more than 30 miles to retrieve that van, although I reserved it AT LONG BEACH a month in advance. Then I had to retrieve the car carrier trailer at another location 10 more miles away.

It skips right over explaining how you actually open the sliding door; in the video it just magically opens. I had to go back into the office and wait in line to find out I have to step on the foot pedal at the same time as I pull the latch in order to release it. Otherwise, the move in was pretty smooth.

It might be helpful to have donation places on file for when people decide to move out of their storage... Habitat for humanity is one that will pick up at a storage place.

I ended up buying two locks because I was unaware I would need a lock for the storage unit. So when i bought a lock to lock the truck overnight, I bought the non circular type. Some communication or suggestions during the rental process about which lock to pick would be helpful in the future.
