RALPH GWhoever answers at your call center is clueless !! He told me the only trailer I wanted was 75 miles away and reserved a smaller trailer for me. I drove to the local location and they had a lot of the size I need. The employees at the location I rented from were excellent and very helpful. Will definitely rent from there again !

BILL AWe dropped the truck off right at 7 p.m. and the guys were closing which is fine but there was a bigger guy that was so rude to us and to the other customers standing there. There really was not reason for it just tell us where to park the truck and we would have been gone. I understand that we were late getting back but things happen.

RIGONALDO DOne tire showed recent wear, they said was within there allowance but happily replaced with new one. The trailer did have oil/fluid on it from previous rentals, got dirty loading and unloading.

PATRICIA ATruck was released to me with 1/8 tank of gas. Immediately had to go to a gas station. Rental agreement indicated 1/4. Not accurate. Additionally, I was charged for moving blankets that I never used or requested.

KELLI CComplaint is about the truck: this truck needs to be retired from long distance travel. The steering has too much play, very difficult to change lanes and drive straight. The brakes are not safe. The cab is extremely loud, so loud you can't even hear the radio. Gear shifts are loud and jerky, The cab is old, dirty and smells. If I wasn't an experienced box truck driver our 800 mile trip would have been white knuckle for an average driver. Please take care of this truck before it causes and accident.
BARY BI enjoy using uhual as a frequent customer. However this huge price increase for miles in not okay. That was too big of a price mark up!

JEFFREY KTHIS location was fantastic. HOWEVER. The 916 River Road location was ABHORRENT. We rented a uhaul from that location originally, and it was moved to this north port location. However, upon arrival at the Englewood location, we were met with employees bothered by the fact that we were there, who were perfectly happy turning us away with no information. Apparently, an email was sent to me about the location switch. I checked all of my inboxes including spam, no email. No email, no phone call, text, not even a smoke signal. While trying to tell them this, they talked over us while another employee yelled the phone number for the north port location, as if that was any help? We weren't being rude, just simply trying to understand what happened, but were met with hostility and vitriol and eventually turned on our heels and left. I was not able to get their names, but they both had glasses, a male and female, at noon on Friday 3/14. I'm a manager of a retail company, I know customer service, and you'll be HARD pressed to find me taking time out of my busy day to complain about someone's service that I can normally write off as a bad day. This however was completely unacceptable and we will never be using services at the 916 River Road location again. My phone number is (813) 340-1706, would love a follow up on this experience. MARCKENDY DHORRIBLE drop-off location, absolutely no indicator where to park the truck. I was LOCKED IN THE GATE and could not get out to meet my uber driver after the truck was dropped off. It was by sheer chance that someone was coming in otherwise i would have been locked inside the facility for the night. Never once saw a facility where you could not get OUT of the gate. Horrific experience, Would never return to this location ever again

MICHAEL CThe uhaul that we received was severely damaged- the fender cover was cracked entirely. The damage was not something we were notified of. We picked up the uhaul during the day, when we were leaving at 9 pm to move across the country, we learned the break light/blinker/hazard light was out on the dolly we had rented. We had no idea who to contact after hours. We had to drive 1,300 miles at the risk of being ticketed, due to this locations negligence.

EDILIO AHad to drive 10 miles in the opposite direction to pick up truck..closer locations didn’t have any trucks available. The window crank was broken. And there was a lamp piece in the truck when I picked it up. But otherwise clean and functional.
TRACY SThe staff who rented to us was wonderful, friendly and helpful. The issue is had is that we returned after hours, which is advertised as an option, but when we got there, this location has NO DROPBOX OR MAIL SLOT. It was 1am and we were exhausted from moving for 2 days straight. Why advertise 24/7 returns if there's no option to do so?? Our easy self-return turned into an hour long debacle. I am thankful for the live chat that helped so we could get it returned, but initially they said there was nothing they could do. When I asked for a manager, suddenly a solution was figured out. The return was NOT easy and instead was a huge inconvenience. We also were given a truck that had 1/4 tank less gas than on our paperwork. Nice staff and he said he'd fix it. Not a huge issue, but the "convenient" self return sure was!

Do better uhaul..plz. and returned truck a day early and with more gas then was required.

However, after the 2nd month, the facility manager (?name?) insisted on exorbitant charges of $99 per month for a 5x10 unit. Based on rental costs at other facilities in the area, this is outrageous. Also, this facility parks extra rental trucks throughout EVERY driveway of the facility; often blocking renters access their units and blocking any way for renters to get in and out....ridiculous and dangerous. I would NOT recommend this facility.

I would suggest that where the chain link storage area is be brighter lit AND an exterminator go in because there were rat droppings all over the boxes and floor. As you go in, to the lower there is exposed insulation of some type. It should be repaired. Otherwise my brother's things we always secure.

I was away as a traveling nurse and unable to check on the unit, but staff assured me that all was well with my items. When I got to get into the unit I could see that the boxes had water damage, were eaten through by rodents, as was my property. There was dirt and debri, leaves, rat stool, and rat urine on my items and on the floor of the unit. I asked for reimbursement for my rent for months paid, but was denied. Very disappointed.

How about you call the person giving you 186 a month for a leaky crap box. Eh. Glad to be done. 186 is a lot for a compromised unit.

Yesterday when I cleaned out my unit I found a dead rat and tons of rat feces and urine all over my stuff inside the climate controlled unit I rented. I had to throw away a lot of my things that were either chewed up by the rats or urinated on. I told the employees and they didn’t seem to care at all. I am extremely upset about my destroyed furniture and personal items.

Jazmine M | Online Move InCouldn’t move into space bc the measurements provided online were incorrect. The space was 10 ft wide inside but not the opening itself. The opening is only about 8 ft and therefore my things wouldn’t fit. That wasn’t a problem though, they were quick to refund me without issue. The facility, however, had broken locks throughout, some units looked as if they had previous attempted break ins, and the U-Haul trucks were blocking half of the aisles so it was impossible to drive to your unit. To add insult to injury, someone stole my phone off of the bumper of my truck right before my eyes. The only people around were two employees and one family moving into a unit. When I realized it was stolen, the one employee tried to help by attempting to call the number to no avail. I had to contact Verizon where they were able to track my iPhone, hours later, to a location in Port Charlotte, VERY close to the facility. This place is a dump and it’s very run down. I ended up finding a facility in Venice that was much cheaper with better security and a much better overall appearance. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to steer clear of this place.

Oddly enough only the ones that target the office as if nobody else is possessions are important only the office. The security fence that was supposed to have been put up at the initial signing never went off and that’s about five years to possible completion , it was only after noticing multiple units that were seemingly broken into with a crowbar or something that we really thought it wise to get our things out. My recommendation is the place to be shut down and remodeled into something useful… like a dentist office that specializes in root canals with no painkiller…

David M | Overall ExperienceA leak developed above our storage unit after Hurricane Ian. I removed a few damaged items. The management’s solution was to put a tarp above our unit. When it rained I could hear rain dripping on the tarp and see a puddle accumulating on it. Whenever I went in to the office to check on the status of the roof repair or the availability of another unit, there was always someone new at the front desk who was unaware that there was a problem. There’s a big turnover in employees. One time when I went to our unit, I saw someone moving out of a unit. I went in to the office to inquire about the possibility of moving in to that space. The employee had no idea how to put my name on a wait list nor was he willing to take my phone number or write a note to give to the manager. We have left U-Haul and moved into another storage unit in North Port where we have responsible management that responds to our needs. And, we do not have a leaky roof!

We could barely squeeze thru just to get to our unit and then had to back out and turn around to get out.......not an easy thing to do when pulling a trailer. Very inconvenient setup. Would not recommend this place.

Kelly M | Overall Experienceemployees at north port location are mostly rude and all complain about being too busy and are tired , overworked and have sudden fits of anger when you ask them to honor the promotions I signed up for online( free day with previous reservation of trailer/ truck. yell at you in front of everybody and say "thats not how we do things here and we are not going to honor it if you simply have a reservation for abtrailer/truck and get a free month because you could cancel the reservation. that the only way was to have signed a contract today for a truck trailer to get the offer. oh and sorry you cant sign a contract for that trailer because we dont have it in stock. yelling at me the whole time. (This was a CSR named Kody allen) so i called uhaul online when i got home and spoke to operator and she called the store and spoke to RICHARD Perrin (Gen manager) and she said he was suppoed to call me today but is mid afternoon and i didnt receive the call and its almost 3pm. Also when i got to my unit today there were 2 uhaul moving trucks parkd in front of my door(drive up access) and i had to ask the front desk if they could move them ( she only moved one and i was still blocked by the front end of the second truck still no drive up access. and then i ask them about the gate code and hours and they inform me that the security gate is broken and that i( or anyone) can drive in 24 hours a day!!! i do not feel very secure with my belongings in this facility, so far everything stinks.

I purchased insurance and a look from the staff on the start date of my rental, the staff member did not inform me the lock i had chosen would not comply with my insurance coverage until about 3 weeks later. Upon arrival the storage unit i had reserved and which was available online was not available and i had to purchase a bigger unit at a higher cost then i had wished to spend. The staff did remind me to get my lock but that was the extent of the useful service I felt was provided.

Best you could do was two 10 x 10 spaces far apart for more money!! The latches on the storage units were crap and broken. The storage lot is so full of rental trailers and trucks you can't even get close to your storage locker. What a disaster this place is. We couldn't get our truck or trailer close to the storage we overpaid for. NO! I would never suggest anyone EVER deal with your facility. For the prices you charge.... clean up the yard!!

THEN GAVE ME A HARD TIME when I wanted to get me stuff and move it to one of my other three units I have elsewhere. I will never use Uhaul company or recommend them to friends or family. The North Port U-Haul storage center was extremely busy, and they had a lot of vehicles and trailers so much so that at one point I was almost unable to get to my storage unit. I was able to get to the unit, by driving slowly and watching my mirrors. This is not a bad thing but it does say that they need more land and storage space for their vehicles and trailers. Overall I'm very happy with the experience. And I will be using this same service in the future if needed.

I had another unit at this location before, it was right by the return area and even though it was up front i still had issues getting to it because there was a returned Uhaul truck there. other than that, all good.

kattya r | Overall ExperienceWe had a confirmed reservation (Reservation #:830027-00107295) for a 10 x 20 unit. The reservation was made almost a month in advance for a cross country move. When we arrived we were casually told there was no 10 x 20 units available as if it was no problem! The best they could do was 2 - 10 x 10 separate units. And to add insult to injury we are now going to be charged $129.99 a month for each ($259.98 total) rather than the $179.99 for the same amount of space. But standing at the counter with a full truck and movers on the way, what choice did we have? Doesn't seem fair we pay more every month for inconvenient, separated, spaces due to U-Haul not being able to honor their commitment. Felt like a classic Bait and Switch.

I always felt like I was going to either hit my truck or one of their buildings. It would have been easier if they didn’t store so many in front of peoples storage units. There were many times that we had to go to the office to have them move their vehicles to be able to get into our storage unit.

This place from the get go looks very old and run down, the only reason I didn't turn around and leave first thing is cause I already booked it before ever seeing the place and I had first month free. I purchased climate controled so my things would stay in good condition but this was the worst version of climate control I've dealt with, every time I visited the unit didn't feel very cool at all and after a few months I see that my things are molding. I've never had a climate controlled unit mold my belongings before so I left this bad experience of a storage unit and as I was checking out, I find it that the AC for my unit building was broke for some time and that they finally fixed it. It would have been really nice for whom ever runs this location to let the people who have units know that they are having problems so that they can decide whether they want to change units or move out so things don't get bad but instead nothing war said and now I'm sorting through things with mold on them cause of their greed I'm guessing on not wanting to lose business. It's not your personal belongings so you don't care I guess.
