MAUREEN AYYADMy reservation was at 9:30am. I arrived at U-Haul at 9:45 am right away the called to see I was coming I told the staff yes so I appreciated that but when I got there the wait was long to check in. And when we discussed if there was something small because I was helping a family member and didn't know how much stuff she had until I went to her storage to check it out there was no flexibility at this location and a little rude also when we finally got the truck the gas in truck was low. Not to where it said it was at so when we went into tell them the line again was long no one to ask without waiting for another 30 min. The reservation said there will be credit if you but gas in but why wasn't there enough gas before we get credit not great service so no I won't be recommending this location.

DAMIAN FELICIANO SILVAI made a reservation on the phone with corporate to have some towing wire work done. The actual store called me about my appointment. I told him I needed to cancel and when I placed they would only hold my card for the reservation. The person at the store said they charged my card for the total. He reversed the charges.corporate needs to make sure they understand the process.
William GrahamWe made our reservations in the store. The pick up time was changed 3 times not by our choice. The pick up location was changed 3 times. The car dolly was broken so we had to change to a car hauler. After we completed paperwork, it was accidentally charged to another customer so we had to redo it. The app does not work well. We picked up our truck first. Later came back for the car hauler. First they told us we already got it. We said no we told you we would be back at 1. Then he said it was canceled but we said no, we didn’t. So he said he would fix it. In the end the man’ said he was sorry and helped us load our car on the car hauler. Also, the appointment center never called the day before. We received a text that said we would receive a call before 5. We were panicking and called ourselves close to 5 as we were driving to the u-haul to work it all out.

Jeffrey OakesAfter I arrived to pick up the van I rented for 3 hrs., I was given a price that twice what the advertised rate of $19 per day, not to mention the additional 1/4 tank of gas ($15) I paid for when I returned the van, which I wasn’t credited anything. I returned the van within 2.5 hours and considered this interaction “false advertising”! The staff were very professional and helpful and I don’t blame them, but this type of “bait and switch” should be illegal and unlawful!

robert landaTruck smelled of urine, was told that i have to purchase a lock and the guy recommended a lock that didnt fit (did not realize it until I went to try it on which was well after i left the lot).

This was nice because I needed to stay while the work was being performed. Also, the crew was very personable and I enjoyed my time talking with them while they installed the hitch. This location and crew are my 1st choice whenever I need U-HAUL's services. I highly recommend this location.

Van AnglemanChecked in 24 min before appointment and return time was changed to 30 min earlier. Went to check out the trailer taillight wires were hanging and didn't work on passenger side. One other marker light also did not work. It took an hour to fix. The rubber keeper for the rear safety chain was also missing. Previous big damage to the dricer side fender also had not been marked or noted on the verifivation pictures. Workers were plesent but aparrent maintenance was not preformed.

Arthur EdelmanSuch an odd experience. Your fuel policy is opening you to a lawsuit eventually. First I’m given a cam out of gas and told that if I return it with a quarter tank I’ll get a credit. Then it runs out of gas before leaving the lot. Then I get a van with a quarter of a tank. Drive 8 miles and get charges thirty extra dollars because it slipped below a quarter of a tank. $30 means nothing to me but it does to someone. This is an aweful practice. Everything should go out with a full tank and delivered back with a full tank. No chance for breakage there. I’ll be considering my options
Timothy TourekThe trailer was damaged in multiple locations upon receiving it. Three hours into my cross country drive, the tire blew out and could’ve caused critical damage to the asset being transported and or danger to people driving behind me. Ryan BelidaI originally made my reservation at a closer location to make sure I was within my mileage given. The day before the moved my pick up location to a location farther away from me and it caused me to redo my plans to accommodate for traffic and a longer drive. I would have like to seen Uhaul have my reservation set up at the location I reserved 2 weeks in advance to accommodate me. With all this I barely made my mileage allowance by 3 miles. Would have been upset if I had to pay for extra miles

Moreover, the lack of assistance on-site adds to the frustration, and I found myself in a predicament when I got trapped in the parking lot due to a poorly placed truck. In addition, I opted for a Ubox rental, where the reservation process involves specifying both pick-up and drop-off locations. However, the initial quote only covers pick-up and storage, conveniently omitting the drop-off fee. This deceptive practice led to my moving cost doubling unexpectedly. This misleading approach is especially disheartening given the already significant expenses associated with moving. The situation worsens as they establish a separate reservation using the card details from the original reservation and automatically charge it. Opting for a local moving company seems like a more reliable choice compared to falling victim to the practices of these unscrupulous corporate entities.
Mikaela Wild | Overall ExperienceIn the past, office staff at Point Loma Uhaul were very grumpy with my son Jacob who desperately needed to access storage but was often denied without paying an extra $20, even though my auto draft payment went through each month for $125 for a teeny tiny unit I have moved my items to a much larger unit at a different company for $100 per month. It is also climate controlled. Will never store with U-Haul again.

Baltazar Martinez | First ImpressionsI came months ago with a small balance due. The manager, the dreaded man with a horrible attitude wouldnt let me pay in full and cut my own lock. I could not afford the locksmith at the time and since the bill doubled. Now i was left with a $945 bill which i could not pay, had to settle and only by the support of Rick was able to keep my moms belongings. I have paid over $5500 in bills to this uhaul and was treated so poorly im left with a negative impression about this facility and can never use uhaul again. I was told i could remove the items by 10pm. The same dreaded man came back ,with a dog , smelling like marajuana telling me i had to be out by 8:30 or "as soon as he felt like it". The same man doubled my bill and completely ruined my understanding of customer support. If anyone pays for a unit for 5 years, balance ready in hand, i think they deserve the support to fix the situation right then. This man was horrible and ended up costing uhaul an immediate payment and closing and instead created a long settlement. Nobody benefited from his horrible customer service skills and he should be fired immediately. How many customers has he done this to? I will be following up on this review personally as i have no intention to leave any past dues unpaid. I just want to make sure nobody else has to ever deal with the situation i had. Im so sorry for who ever reads this but i hope it gets back to the dreaded man at the point loma uhaul. He is a disgrace to the local community has no belonging in any managerial role.

Her crew not so much. Seems she was doing everything. I would hire her, but not the crew...stand around do least amount of work impression. The San diego drop off Point Loma crew were so great, I mean excellent! Greeted with smile, beyond helpful. I would hire them, they were that good...in other words....keep them! Except for app check in, UHaul on this trip exceeded expectations.

Dalton was the one really going above by helping position the trailer just right and making sure I didn't have to cross the incoming truck lane. I would recommend others the facility and going with u-haul as their storage and moving supplies solution.
