Have used this location several times and they have been very helpful, and easy to use.
DANJUMA GThe APP and onsite online services were down between 0700 and 0900 on 17JAN26 causing rental delays for any motor vehicle rental. You couldn't self check-in and checking in person took 45 minutes per customer. The local employees were very supportive!!! It wasn't local stores fault, (company wide issue) but it sure ate up a lot of valuable morning moving time. Trailer rentals were not affected, just motorized rentals.

ALBERT B-Make sure van is vacuumed. One time it was super clean. Next day different van was pretty gross. -When returning my van the first night, it was hard to access parking because a trailer was plopped right in the driveway that connects the two ends of the parking lot, and a customer was parked across another driveway while doing their return paperwork. -I really wanted to return my van in person on Sunday because it's a sketchy location and I am a young woman. I arrived ten minutes before closing and staff had left.

Scott FNot the locations fault but doing a self pickup without anyone there and having locks that are just faulty is counterproductive. The locks should be covered out of wear and tear to make use easier if no one is there to assist.
Terra KI was diverted to a different location for drop off but no one notified mein advance. I came to the drop off location and they looked at me like I did not know what I was talking about. Then while I was there I received a call from UHAUL that I was being diverted but I was already there at that point. The location return area was flooded so I had to back up the UHAUL. I asked them to do it but they said they did not know how. It was very frustrating and I was tired from moving all day. It was overall a very poor experience. Not the service I have had with UHAUL in the past. I don't think I will ever rent from UHAUL again.

ROBERT PClean your trucks so they don’t smell like manure and the windows are clear. Check/Adjust the headlights every now and then.., And when you’re going to be charging someone each day for an extended rental…you need to change the MAY to WILL AND DONT BURY IT IN FINE PRINT. OR HAVE THE FRIKIN COURTESY OF INFORMING THE CUSTOMER WHO UTILIZES U-HAUL WAY TO FRIKIN MUCH TO HAVE over 300$ unknowingly deducted…only to find out when I tried to use my card, because you backdoored me! Look my name up. I’ve kept rentals without calling and NEVER have I been charged “along the way”. What bs! Have I EVER not paid the full balance when it’s due?? Incedentally because you zapped my account 3-4. Different times, it caused an overdraft! Had I been informed that you were doing what you did…I could’ve moved some money or given you another card. EVERYFRIKIN TIME IVE CONE IN ON TIME OR LATE DUDE ALWAYS ASKS PAY USING THE CARD ON FILE. YOU CHANGE POLICY MAYS TO WILLS…inform the frikin client to call for extension or they’ll be punished!
RICHARD DYou are encouraged and lead to believe you can do on line reservation without having to do the whole office thing but in reality you still go though the office the wait in line and answer all the questions they drag you through on line. The office guy was great at multi tasking. The check in process was odd.
Stephen MThe counter person at the Point Loma office took my information regarding dropping the tow car off at the Ina Marana location but did not update the contract to reflect it and instead had me dropping off the tow car at a south Tucson location. I ended up having to call Uhaul to have the contract change to reflect the Uhaul Moving & Storage at Ina location which added about 20 minutes to my trip.

Darren ONothing - time and time again this location's employees and the equipment is excellent. Rented virtually everything available from trailers to trucks and every time I am in and out lickety-split. Drop offs are easy peasy, extremely quick.

ADAM RThe reason for my survey responses. When I went to check in there was a U Haul agent named Jesus who was incredibly rude and told me I would be there for a “long Haul”. I had been in an accident with there vehicle. Beware of renting from them they do not explain their insurance policies when making the claim and what is covered. They tell you it will be covered but not the overhead. They don’t explain that there are other policies that cover everything. I was injured in the accident and they never mentioned anything. There was a U Haul agent that was really helpful and was able to get out immediately but not without telling that his desk agents need to stop saying I’m covered in the event of any accidents. Again if you’re in an accident alone or otherwise they will not ask. In the event that you are injured make sure you have it documented, they do not ask or have you fill out anything. Thank you Rick for being kind and courteous.

HEIDI HEngine light was on the truck. They charged for an extra gallon of gas at 6.50$. So technical about it! Make sure you ask how is the gas level before you leave the place or they’ll charge you without telling you!

SYDNEY RHonesty the man at the front was awesome efficient and positive. My only gripe was I drove 27 miles barely utilized half of the floor space. ( I could have gone way smaller). But some how I managed to put in over 7 gallons of gas. I don’t think it was the company being scammy but maybe someone used it drove 15-20 miles and the needle on the gas garage didn’t move and it was never checked. Because from what I gathered even loaded down and driving up the sierras it should get atleast 5 mph. But realistically 8-10 mpg not less than 4mpg. So either I got screwed or your vehicle is really screwed up.

Moreover, the lack of assistance on-site adds to the frustration, and I found myself in a predicament when I got trapped in the parking lot due to a poorly placed truck. In addition, I opted for a Ubox rental, where the reservation process involves specifying both pick-up and drop-off locations. However, the initial quote only covers pick-up and storage, conveniently omitting the drop-off fee. This deceptive practice led to my moving cost doubling unexpectedly. This misleading approach is especially disheartening given the already significant expenses associated with moving. The situation worsens as they establish a separate reservation using the card details from the original reservation and automatically charge it. Opting for a local moving company seems like a more reliable choice compared to falling victim to the practices of these unscrupulous corporate entities.
Mikaela W | Overall ExperienceIn the past, office staff at Point Loma Uhaul were very grumpy with my son Jacob who desperately needed to access storage but was often denied without paying an extra $20, even though my auto draft payment went through each month for $125 for a teeny tiny unit I have moved my items to a much larger unit at a different company for $100 per month. It is also climate controlled. Will never store with U-Haul again.

I could not afford the locksmith at the time and since the bill doubled. Now i was left with a $945 bill which i could not pay, had to settle and only by the support of Rick was able to keep my moms belongings. I have paid over $5500 in bills to this uhaul and was treated so poorly im left with a negative impression about this facility and can never use uhaul again. I was told i could remove the items by 10pm. The same dreaded man came back ,with a dog , smelling like marajuana telling me i had to be out by 8:30 or "as soon as he felt like it". The same man doubled my bill and completely ruined my understanding of customer support. If anyone pays for a unit for 5 years, balance ready in hand, i think they deserve the support to fix the situation right then. This man was horrible and ended up costing uhaul an immediate payment and closing and instead created a long settlement. Nobody benefited from his horrible customer service skills and he should be fired immediately. How many customers has he done this to? I will be following up on this review personally as i have no intention to leave any past dues unpaid. I just want to make sure nobody else has to ever deal with the situation i had. Im so sorry for who ever reads this but i hope it gets back to the dreaded man at the point loma uhaul. He is a disgrace to the local community has no belonging in any managerial role.

The San diego drop off Point Loma crew were so great, I mean excellent! Greeted with smile, beyond helpful. I would hire them, they were that good...in other words....keep them! Except for app check in, UHaul on this trip exceeded expectations.
