Customer service rep Alfonsa D. rude , unprofessional & disrespectful. Should be trained on how to properly interact with customers esp when they're spending their money. Very poor customer service skills I highly doubt this is the standard for U-Haul company.

KARL BI was told the cost of the U-Haul would be $130-$135. A week later after checking my checking account activity I noticed I was charged $400 for the U-Haul. When I called to find out why I was charged so much I was told that this facility didn’t check the U-Haul in until October 31st. I rented the U-Haul on the 22nd. I followed the instructions and parked under the equipment return shelter and had the U-Haul back at time time I said I’d have it back on the 22nd. You are doing inventory checks daily? Should have cameras to check when something was returned or not returned. Just charged my card without calling, texting, emailing. Not happy!!!

ALEX BWhen you tell the customer you will ema il them a receipt do it. I was over charged after I was told I was all set. Then my credit card got hit with the bill. I had to call to get the over charge removed due to the employee error.

NATELIE LTruck would not start after picking up and driving to my house to load. Called the service number and waited for roadside assistance. The operator, David was fantastic- called several times to inquire about the service tech and status. The roadside assistance was also fantastic- he could not get the truck to start via jump cables- continued to trouble shoot- reboot computer and waited until he was sure it was started. After I was on the road, David called me again to make sure truck was working and reset my return time FANTASTIC SERVICE!!!!!!

CRAIG EI rented a 26' truck from this location, and when I picked it up the dial on the fuel gage was below empty. I barely made it to a gas station a mile away before the engine started sputtering as it ran out of gas.

TYLER DThe truck AC was not working and they gave it to me without warning me about it. It was very hot day and my trip was do bad.. The back of the truck was smelling so bad like something die in there.. lastly , they over charged me because on the receipt it said the fuel was 1/4 but actually it was less than 1/8 .Despite the fact That I told the agent about it Before I leave, when I returned it, they still charged me extra for the fuel..
ABDUL-RAHMAN MAs a return customer all of my personal information was readily available via their computers. Fast, easy, and out the door I went. This was the 3rd different location I have dealt with. So far so good.
DOMINIC LThe service was very slow. I had filled out a rental agreement online ahead of time. The process to actually get my truck was ridiculously slow especially considering the rental information was already done. There was poor direction as to where the truck was located; I basically searched each license plate for the correct truck / location. I had to locate and get the appliance dolly myself. The sideview mirror was not adjustable so it was more difficult to drive the truck and check blind spots. On the bright side, this was the first location that actually had the rental equipment we had requested.
TIMOTHY BHad to go to 3 different places to find the trailer. This store was fine just ended up driving all over town.
RAY TSeems that U-Haul does not necessarily disclose all of the cost associated with renting a truck. If you through on line, the cost that is provided is not the cost you actually pay when you pick up the vehicle. Would also recommend to the prospective renter at time of pick up to take a picture of the gas gas since it seems they always say it is full tank but the gauge does not show it. So if you fill it up to the mark that you picked it up at they will charge you extra to fill up to make it full even thou that is not how the truck was received. I would not recommending renting from U-Haul unless you fully understand what you are getting.
ROBERT MSlow service. Gave me a truck behind another vechicle. By time I got my another truck I was an hour and half into my time.
Stephen GI don't know who's fault it is, but I did not get my deposit back after 24 hours. Since it took over 48 hours to even get the email confirming I returned the trailer, I'm pretty sure I know who's at fault. It's been 61 hours and I still don't have my money.

MOKHTAR ACustomer service. When somebody walks in at least acknowledged them even if you can't help them right away. I walked out the first day but came back the next morning to a new smiling face.
MIRANDA SWe arrived at 1st location on Plymouth Road in Livonia to pick up truck. Business was closed and no truck was ever reserved, when we contacted UHaul customer service they said no truck was attached and they could not get a hold of owner or supervisor so we are unable to pick up a truck. Representative was able to change reservation and we arrived at new location on to have one customer service person and it took him over 45 minutes to get us a new truck. Representative was very i professional, had music playing loudly and singing. Due to all of this it put us an hour behind our schedule. Horrible experience!!

VICTORIA LBeen here often and the service keeps getting worse. The employees need to be trained in customer service and how to communicate with customers. The truck that was assigned to me had 40 more miles and less gas than was stated on my receipt. The truck was tucked all the way back which was difficult to get out and then the box was filled with leaves because the back was open. Spent 30 minutes just filling the pre check text. Been there in the winter and took me 45 minutes to thaw the windshield because it was covered in snow. The workers gave me a scraper and I had to clean it myself to the windshield could melt. Used to be better employees here.

DAWN CPicking the truck up in Redford was great, returning it to Bay City the person receiving it did not want to do her job, she did not inspect it, check the mileage or take any pics of the odometer or check the gas gauge. Instead she has us take a pic of the odometer and fuel for her saying it is not her job, which is stated in the truck that is her job to inspect it. She sat in the office while we did her job for her. We did however sweep it out nice and return it with more gas in it then when we picked it up and returned it the same day that we rented it, which was a 2 day rental. My personal feelings on the drop off point is they need to hire someone who cares about their job and wants to do their job.
Dennis aI was charged over $60 for a refuel when it was at the appropriate range already. Truck was new so that was nice. But they didn't have me stay for the walk thru of the truck so I didn't sign the paperwork that stated the additional charges.

Kayla GWhen I arrived they claimed to not have a trailer for me. When I mentioned getting the $50 for not having the reserved equipment at the reserved time someone was called and they tried to give me different equipment. Different equipment would not meet my need. 20 minutes later somehow a trailer was available , that had been there the whole time. I feel if I had not mentioned the $50 I would have been turned away. Have rented from other locations and have been very satisfied. Would not use this location again unless I had no other choice.

AHUD ACheck the equipment before you send this out with a customer. I had no air conditioning. It was like an oven inside the van. The last customer did not clean out the back of the vehicle and threw was white clay that I thought was dried up paint and ended up cleaning this up at the end of the night .
Dorothy TI never rented this truck, no one explained how it was on my card with someone else’s name on the paperwork. The location was not helpful, I had to make several calls to get it corrected and I’m still waiting on my refund to clear. This location needs to be investigated IMMEDIATELY
Deanna WI was lied on. They said there were missing blankets. I folded them up myself and left them in the back of the truck along with the appliance dolly. I was also charged for going over 25 miles I didn't. It was 13 miles from this location to Detroit back to redford...which is where I moved too. I was also given am empty tank truck. So I went I put $10. In . The full light was on when I picked up the truck. This is my first and last time EVER renting from them again. Poor poor service
PHILISTINA Wcomputer issues made the cashier have to go through the whole process of taking my info, taking pictures of my ID, getting my insurance. THREE TIMES.
JASON RWould not check me in when I got there only one woman. Checked in vehicle 45 minutes later than drop off charged me extra day. Then charged me for 8 gallons of gas after I brought it back with more than left with. Have all documentation and pics of gas gauge.

Understandable that U-haul is in business to make a profit, but a senior discount or rate freeze for seniors over 80 who have stored with U-haul for more than one year would have been helpful. Respectable experience overall, but there are other facilities offering small spaces for much less.
