SHARON BThe guys working under the green awning were awesome!! Keep up the good work. The woman who seemed to be in charge wasn’t very accommodating and was a bit aggressive. I brought the truck to the location that my GPS sent me to but, unfortunately, it was the back of the building. When I told her where the truck was she said “we ain’t gonna touch that truck until it’s under the green awning “. I asked what was the best way to get it there she said “follow the road”. I told her that if I did that the truck would be backwards in the lane. She said that it would just have to be backwards then. This was a new town to me and a new establishment. I would think that she could have been a bit more accommodating.

We pulled this dolly across the United States and then found out from the drop off location that the Sanford Store should have put the car on a trailer instead of a dolly and it would have prevented the car getting damaged over $4,000.00. We were very disappointed in this location. When getting ready to send this review, it would not complete until I checked Yes for "Was the equipment clean & well maintained. Not sure it if was the equipment that failed or the strapping on the vehicle.
LARRY OTruck was dirty, had no gas in it but I got a credit for putting gas in. Check engine light was on but staff member said it was serviced and would be okay. Staff seemed a little disorganized upon my arrival to pick up truck. Had to wait for a different employee to help me. That staff member was really helpful.

JOHN BWhen I picked up the unit they had selected a drop off location I was not going near, t I was told they changed it to any nearby my destination and I could decide later. Now 30 days later I Ave been charged extra for dropping it off at the nearest location to my destination. This is CRAP!!

The only issue I had was they didn't check my return in until I called back 24 hours later to inquire as to why I hadn't received an email or text with a return receipt. They young man asked me where I had parked the AT trailer and after some time they located it, right were the woman had told me to park it. Problem solved finally.

The young man who checked me in, is definitely a subject matter expert, he was able to out process two at the same time. If I was his boss, I’d consider giving him a raise or a few days off with pay. CARLOS QThere's a huge pile of furniture that has been sitting directly inside the storage entrance for at least the month I used the unit. It's an eye sore. Other than that, it was easy to rent, simple to navigate, affordable and my belongings were safe.

WILLIAM COnly one person at 9:00 am checking in customers. Waited over 20 minutes for my reservation. Two customers ahead with numerous questions. Finally a second employee arrives and finalizes my reservation and points me towards my vehicle. The front of the vehicle was extremely dirty. The front was covered in bugs . The windshield both inside and outside covered with bugs and smears from the wiper use. The cab inside had a distinctive smell from cleaning with a dirty mop and dirty water. The dash had enough dust you could write your name on it. The gas gage read full on checkout. I drove the vehicle a grand total of 16 miles and had to put 3 gallons of gas in it to bring it back to the full mark. Total odometer reading is 107207 miles. Seems so engine maintenance should be performed. I told the checkin employee about the filthy front end, windshield, and musky odor in the cab. He blamed it on the previous driver.

When I first rented the unit, the rent was less than I had been paying for less cubic footage and no climate control. The rent increases have been infrequent and have been reasonable.

My problem is with the management and the fact that they do t have enough carts for a warehouse this size. There is only two cart for the entire warehouse, I have to get in there a lot and if they are checked out then that leave me to have to carry boxes approximately 300’ to the loading docks. I’m disabled and can’t do that. The last straw was when one of the two carts was being used by the cleaning staff. I moved out that very week!

jimmy W | Overall ExperienceI said No to the storage access hours bc I had planned to move some boxes out of the unit after store hours but my U Haul swipe card couldn't be recognized so I had to wait til the store opened the next morning which threw me completely behind moving out the storage unit. Thankfully, I was allowed extra time to move out. Another time we rented a unit & the monies were automatically drafted off our debit card which we never signed up for. I mention this bc I overheard an employee talking on the phone to a customer that had the same situation. I remember the employee saying to the customer... Unfortunately, that happens a lot. U Haul has to fix that problem bc people hv their finances in order to do other things. If they want the monthly payment drafted from their debit card then they would sign up for it. It's not cool to hv monies taken out of a person's account uneccessarily.

DAVID E | First ImpressionsI really like the storage facility but we had gotten one because it said it fit 2-3 bedrooms whoever made the categories did not estimate the living room, laundry room, dining room plus bedrooms and so you thinking you getting a storage that fits a home with 2-3 bedrooms and it was two small need better explanations or estimations to what size unit you made need and this site said split units on website and they don’t even had that unit on site at all. Need better advertisements of unit so you can picked what’s more accurate for you.

The woman at the desk didn’t walk me to the unit and I had to return to the office to ask for the location. She highlighted an area on a sheet of paper and handed it to me. Once I finally located my assigned unit it was secured with 2 locks and a tag for non payment. I walked back to the office and told her the unit was locked and she assigned me another unit. I asked if there was one closer and she said no. Upon entering the building there was trash everywhere! This was a horrible experience and I honestly don’t feel comfortable leaving my belongings here. Please KEEP THE BUILDING CLEAN and properly train staff.

Sierra have a nice warm welcome when I entered the building and helped me find the best unit to fit my needs. Not only that, but expressed some concerns over going in a separate building alone and asked about rolling carts. Sierra walks with my to the other building, helps me find the unit (awesome location that fits my needs and limitations) and then helps me unload my car and roll items back to my unit. She went so out of her way. She was incredibly friendly and caring. She even gave my dog love. The prices are fantastic, the facility is clean and the employees are great. Her staff, though not always able to provide answers or resolve a problem, are always very friendly and they do try their best to solve problems. I will tell you that the experience of renting the u-boxes in Napa was nightmarish and I would never use the service again. Why does this matter? Because my husband and daughter are moving here in March and they won’t be using U-haul because of problems I had. I called several different Uhauls places and got the Uhaul call center which I got a call back from the local site saying the call center has overbooked them and they needed to change my pick up time. I took a chance and called Casey’s store and was told to come on and a truck would be waiting for me.. Got there and she made it happen .. our other storage plans fell through and again I called Casey and said hey I need storage and she said I got you when you get here … she is a problem solver .. and worked to make her customers happy… what stood out the most is when she explained something to me and my response was really Casey you should have said this and she said “but I will not go home with that on my conscious because that would not be the truth “.. she was a blessing !!! I’m sure she will be my go to Uhaul site in the future !!

The first time it resulted in us leaving our things in the truck overnight, Just so happened we had a lock. The second night (last night) that guy tried to say we didn’t have a card on file , according to my Son ( I was not with him) the guy was dropping the “F” bomb repeatedly. My son was there with just his girl friend. The guy gave him an upstairs room , knowing he was by himself with a hutch and a five piece dinette set. Having worked all day, my Son asked if he would help him really quick and was told no but if he hung around for 2-3 hours he would help him when he got off work.

I think that uhaul needs a better system to make it easier for staff and in the future, they don’t run into the issue of people reserving units that aren’t actually available.

Very displeased, the initial gesture from uhaul to offer a free month of storage with a rental was great but it turned out to be a disaster to secure storage coming from a 7 hour drive.

During that time I had the opportunity to work with the entire staff at one time or another from moving in, purchasing moving supplies, coordinating my movers for the load out, and renting trucks and trailers. Everyone was always polite, kind, professional, and willing to go the extra little bit to make sure that I had everything I needed and was able to get done what I needed to be able to move and store my belongings. From the GM (Casey) on down it was a wonderful experience and made at least one part of moving convenient and hassle free. Would recommend this location to anyone in the Sanford/Fort Bragg area that needed storage or moving supplies/vehicles.

Amanda S | First ImpressionsI had put above average rating, but there are 2 huge issues I have to note, and after writing them out I dropped it to average. 1) the alarm in the storage area. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or rain why it goes off, but I was there laying for 2 hours and it seemed to go off every 5 minutes. It's ear piercing, which is good, but when there are several people logged into the system, it shouldn't go off that much. 2) I didn't expect to be as tall as the ceiling in the locker. Very low height, and one has a pole right snack dab in the middle. That made loading furniture difficult. If I only had that locker, would've been impossible. Clean, well lit facility. Friendly staff. Lockers were supposed to be picked for me before I returned with my stuff, but weren't. Good thing I got there early enough to do all the selection process before my moving help arrived.

The day I moved in I stated I would be out of state and did not need 24 access only for the next 2 days to bring my stuff into the facility. I had trucks and people to help me unload my house and put it into storage it would have taken hours. I got there and was locked out. So my man power and trucks had to go to work. So it took me 4 ,12 hour days. I was late moving had to rent a truck and lost 3 days of work. The GM told me that they already compensated me with a free month of storage so she did not give any more. I lost over 600 just in salary not to mention the truck rental which I had to get somewhere else no deals cut. All from misinformation about access. Storage facility is clean well kept but they are more about money than customer service.

The outside bays have so much trash and glass, there's others obvious garbage in the area for recycling of others things which everything in that area is garbage dirty and probably attracting more bugs and worse maybe rodents. I also didn't get my deposit returned to me seemed this is the second place in a month that's done this. I still haven't gotten my deposit from the facility I dropped a uhaul trailer at in Medford Oregon! Plus, the trailer I contacted for in Medford to come to NC ended up with a flat and the tire expert told me that Uhaul should've never allowed that trailer out of the parking lot, let alone travel the distance I had to. Now Uhaul owes me $120.00 that I'm sure I'll never see. Uhaul used to be on top of their game 100% and there's no excuse for the decline in all areas if customer satisfaction. I think it's time for me to look into other options if this is the new normal for all Uhaul locations because I've dealt with nothing but worse service since I left the Uhaul in Charlotte earlier this year. I'm very disappointed!

Second employee told me we needed to give a 24 hour notice, so I gave 72 hour notice. Showed up at 0730 and staff member informed us forklift operator doesn’t start until 8:30. Wish they would have told me this when I scheduled. Then staff member couldn’t find our storage unit reservation so we spent time getting that set up. 8:30 comes and no sign of forklift operator so employee texts him and was told he’s on his way. Operator did not arrive until 9:10or later. We waited until 9:30 and no sign of boxes, went to office and no one told him we were waiting for boxes. He was very polite and got the boxes moved quickly. Staff members need trained on dealing with Ubox customers because every time I spoke to someone, I was told something different. I have also tried for 2 weeks to talk to Kasey about getting a discount and I’m always told she’ll be in at such and such time, but when I call she’s not there. I spent 2 hours waiting around for our Uboxes due to poor communication by your staff. I would like a 20% monthly discount for the inconvenience your team caused my family. Thank you, Sandy Henry

I’m extremely dissatisfied with everything. I would report it to the person inside and was told a manager would contact me. I wouldn’t get a return call. I even made the complaints through customer service and they would send an email to the site manager. As per usual no return call. I paid way too much money for the terrible service from the staff and the fact that the mice had torn stuff up and pooped on my stuff. Moved everything out on 2/22/2020. At this point I will not recommend unwilling to anyone. The experience was the worst I have ever had with a storage place. Please contact me if you have questions. 919-353-4424.
