I can't think of anything to improve upon.. every time I use this location I am greeted with a smile and very prompt service . And I like that safety is is of great concern at this location.

MARY RI'm very disappointed that I was charged for 2 gallons of gas by uhaul. I drove the vehicle 13 miles and put 2 gallons of gas in it at the Phillips 66 station right across the street from the uhaul. I have never had any problems with this location until this. I need to be refunded $10.35.

TRENTON WGas gauge was not working properly. At pick up we were told that approx quarter tank in it. we drove 28 miles to our destination and 28 miles back to Uhaul.. I put $10.00 into the gas tank to cover these few miles. Upon returning the attendant said give me the key your ok. I got an email receipt showing that they added $30.00 for gas. Do they expect me to b relieved that the truck only gets 2 miles to the gallon. I would bet that someones car needed gas and I got the bill. This location seems to turn over managers and employees on a regular basis. I see no reason to rent the truck I need to repeat this trip next month.
ALAN NUnit was not cleaned off I had to de-ice and clean off the unit The unit was not prepared to drive on the road Snow and ice covered even though I called with advance notice never warmed up. Manager of facility is excellent! She was still trying to train staff.

DELBERT MI have become a frequent renter with your company. Until this last reservation, I have had nothing but good experiences. This time however, I was very unhappy to have dealt with Laura V. She was confrontational, disrespectful, and very demeaning in her tone. I don't appreciate being treated as a lesser-than, and being strongly persuaded to change my reservations to further generate income from your company. Laura made me feel as if my reservation had to be shortened for her facility to be able to generate anther rental of the equipment that I had reserved. When I refused she treated me like I was a problem. She did not give me a paper receipt and told me that I'd have to print it off. Also, in all of my rentals the person who rings me up makes sure to be the one to help me with the equipment and inspection. Laura passed this on to someone else as if she couldn't be bothered. I will be trying to avoid this location and Laura V at all costs.

DANIEL BThis place has gone downhill. The manager was very unfriendly. The box truck was covered in snow and I had to walk through snow around the back of the building to retrieve it. It had holes in the roof and the windshield wiper blade was broken. The blankets were dirty and sopping wet.

DENEAN JThis was my first time renting a U-Haul when I picked it up the lady at the front desk all she said was that the gas tank was 3/4 full and to bring it back 3/4 full and where to park it she never told me there would be a link to take pictures all that stuff so when I returned the U-Haul yesterday I get a phone call the next day today stating that we didn't feel the tank up to the correct amount and that I was charged an extra 30 plus dollars. Now if there is a procedure that people are supposed to take the lady should have told me at the front desk the day before when I picked you all up that I was supposed to take pictures and there was a link being sent to click the link because when I did finally click the link it was no longer accessible so I had no idea that I was supposed to take pictures of the gas where it was blase blase so I absolutely will never recommend somebody running you all.

SUSAN GOverall average experience. Although apparently there alone, friendly staff did very well with the wait time. The truck had a broken sun visor that hung in front of the windshield or hit me in the head when I pushed it to the side. The check engine light was on. The way the need to put gas in the vehicle was confusing. 7/16 of a tank when I left is what I was told. I drove 26 miles and needed 3 gallons of gas to get to what I thought 7/16 was. Finally, the truck price is advertised daily, yet when asked for an approximate return time, I said 6 hours. I was back on time, but the invoice showed a late fee if I didn't return on time.

MICHAEL LI originally scheduled a 10ft truck at the Plymouth, IN location and was then called the day after saying that truck was not available, but the 20ft truck was and I would get that for the same price and I agreed. Then at 10am Sunday, the day I was to pick up the truck at 11am, I was sent a text saying the truck was not available and I would have to go to another location. The lady I spoke with in scheduling was very nice and worked to try and find me something within driving distance so we found that the South Bend location was open on that Sunday and also had what we needed there. we drove out of our way to get the truck and was pleased when we arrived to see they have the cargo vans we had originally wanted. The young man working the store was very nice and got the switch made with ease. The only concern I had was when we got on the road, I noticed the tire pressure light was on and the front two tires were quite a bit lower than the back. the breaks were also very squeaky, but it got up to and from where we needed to go so overall it worked out. I am just very dissatisfied with how the Plymouth location handled, or should I say didn't handle things.

CARLY BThis was an absolutely horrible experience. The woman checking me in was very rude, to the point of discomfort. The truck was late because unbeknownst to me, you guys changed my drop off location from the one I originally selected. So after going to the first drop off, I didn't have time to get to this new one until my lunch break. I called the 1-800 number and was told the $40 late fee would be waived because it wasn't my fault that you guys changed the location. However the woman who was there when I dropped off the truck yelled at me and told me that it wasn't her problem I was late and she would not be waiving the charge. Absolutely abysmal customer service, she should be fired.

It would be difficult to access and use the unit as just one person. Additionally the unit was smaller than advertised because there was a pole in the middle of it. This pole made it difficult to both pack and unpack the unit as well as cut down the amount of available space.

Once checked into the storage unit, I was not shown where to go or even given the correct unit number. I was given a map and unit was highlighted. When going to the unit, it was already locked and employees were going for the evening. I called customer support and found out that was not my assigned unit. When I went to my actual storage, it was extremely inaccessible! The door clearance was very short and narrow. The hallway did not allow you to maneuver furniture into unit… only smaller items and boxes. Unit size wasn’t the issue, just the accessibility.. considering the unit I reserved and confirmed in Elkhart was a drive up unit. Nobody could possibly move an apartment or small home as shown in unit descriptions simply because of the hallway and doorway.
brookelynn s | Overall ExperienceI don't know where to start. 1st you have a rodent problem. Mice had gotten into our unit and chewed through boxes and started nesting. Lots of valuable family heirlooms and collector items ruined. Then we have the staff. Understand that we live out of state and our daughter (who lives nearby) was watching over our things. We had given her the key card and keys with express permission in the beginning for her to access the unit if need be. Three times throughout our time there, she was denied access and her key card (my key card) was taken from her. And the turnover rate with employees must be a nightmare. Never did I ever see the same people twice. The office was very hard to get ahold of. We were also threatened at one point of losing our things if we didn't bring the unit to date within two weeks. We didn't even know it was behind. It was on auto-pay. The manager at that time said he sent an email, he did not ! Parking and equipment. The staff takes up most of the parking and I had no where to park. I wasn't allowed to bring in a trailer to empty out the unit. The units themselves were questionable. Units made entirely of wood with gaps as high as two inches off the floor for the doors. Please understand, I have had storage units all over the country. From Michigan to Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, Arkansas and Indiana. Never have I had the rudness in staff. People are most generally willing to work with you. But not in South Bend, IN. I'm am happy to be able to take the time to empty our storage unit and wash my hands of that particular U-Haul experience. I will say though, the current manager there at this time (I forget her name) did work with us. But her staff lacks her commitment. My daughter broke the key to lock on the unit and she had replaced it with a different lock not of U-Haul code. So I had buy a new lock and replace it. We were locked out at the time and the staff wouldn't let her in to replace it per manager's instructions. Once the current manager was told about the incident, my daughter was finally able switch it out with the right one. That's all I have to note at this time. I hope that in future U-Haul of South Bend, IN updates their units and take care of the rodent issue plaguing the belongings of those storing there things.

Love that they offered carts for assistance. You walk in and it just smells of mice. My unit was clean but there is holes, from mice, poo and mice urine on the floor. It happens I get that, but it's bad. I don't by far blame the staff. I'm sure it's higher up. My stuff is in plastic bins, but it won't be there long.

I settled my account in the first of February, moved my things out and left the keys. When I stored my things in October, I was to have one month free. Each month I check on the storage but the free month wasn't applied. Each month, I had to to correct my account. Each month I had to talk to someone but no follow through. Yesterday, the employee printed out a recept $0. No charges or late fees. So. It will be interesting if I will receive a bill. Uhaul has always been a reliable company. With the promotion, one month free, it really messed my account. Also, card key never worked. The employees that presently working have always been kind. If I have thought renting a storage unit would be a hassle, I should have sold all my things and start over. I rented a 8 x 8.

This facility has the most incompetent employees I've ever had to deal with. We had a U-box to be picked up on Oct 6th, but they did not have it available. We then rented a truck at 3 PM, returned it between 9-9:30 on Oct 7th, and they wanted to charge us for a two day rental. Lastly, because they did not have the U-box available, we were forced to rent one of their storage unit, which was disgustingly nasty and unacceptable. Their were poison rat boxes inside of the unit, no lights and very smelly. Due to these concerns, we told them we did not want to acquire this unit, and asked for a much better presentable one . They proceeded to state they didn't have any other units available. This was the last and only available unit. We proceeded to have the attendant cancel the request, which she said she did, but on Oct 8th, I received an email stating I was first late paying for the storage unit and then charged a $15 late penalty fee. All of this in a 2-day span. We called the facility on Oct 9th, talked to the same attendant who assisted us, and she was unable to figure out the issue, or assist us as to why we are being charged for a unit we cancelled immediately. We have a copy of the paperwork saying the charges were reversed, but it doesn't reflect on charges of the invoice receipt. I had concerns then, and now I see why. This facility should no longer provide or ever again assist future customers. Avoid them at all cost. The entire day with that U-Haul facility was the worst and most unforgettable day. We were in forced placed our HHGs at another storage facility, in hopes of finding someone professionally capable of having it shipped out to the west coast as originally scheduled. I cannot stress this any more, stay completely away from this U-Haul facility at all cost.

I live 2 and a half hrs away so just walking into office isn't possible. The only communication I had them is the emails I received when payment was due and now the final notice. I don't care how busy a business is it for never be impossible speak with them. Especially over a couple months. People moce out of town and use storage for a reason. It should not be made impossible for us to care of any matter. Now my storage unit is up for auction if it hasn't been auctioned off already.
