The staff were nice for the moments when we interacted. The Gentleman that helped me was kind and considerate that assisted me was mid lead as I had called earlier talked to a phone representative and they ensured myself that I would be able to put a queen bed, dresser and smaller items in the locker and booked me a small 5x5x7 storage unit. As we arrived at the location, to book the storage unit we didn’t have much time to see the unit before we brought my belongings before bringing the truck back to the Queen location as which booked for a 113.00 Rate. Which was fine. Love those guys. We had to leave a good amount of things in the U-Haul truck over night, buy a lock for the latch, take time off scheduled work to finish a move and deliver the to the other side tomorrow. I feel that very unfortunate situation for myself and I would like to get a 5x10x7 unit tomorrow to complete this move early by 1030- 1100am a more accommodating solution Thank you

3 Points: 1. I waited in line 45 min. I had checked in the night before. The app does not allow for self checkout for trailers (I had a 5 x 8 Cargo Trailer) 2. As I left the office to go to the trailer, I nearly got hit by a forklift transporting a big box. I avoided the injury by jumping out of the way. The driver could not see where she was driving. In this case, she should have either driven backwards, so she can see, or have a someone guide her. It is clear that safe forklift driving is not enforced. 3. When I backed up to the trailer in order to hook uo, I had to drive over a patch with broken glass. It was clear that that glass had been there for a while. Next day, when I returned the trailer, that glass was still there, had not been cleaned.

I rented a 15' truck to pick it up at noon on 25-03-29. I reserved it more than 2 weeks in advance, maybe even 3 weeks in advance, but unfortunately, at this time, I don't remember the exact amount of days that I booked it in advance. When I arrived to pick it up the representative informed me that it would only be available at 2:30, 2.5 hours later than I booked it. This was problematic for my moving timeline because I'd booked a service elevator from 1:30-4:30 and now I was going to have 0.5-1.5 hour less to load the truck than I originally had arranged for due to this delay (if you factor in travel time to my apartment that's about the amount of time I lost to use the elevator, which was almost half the time I'd booked it for). And this was despite the fact that I'd arranged to pick up the truck 1.5 hours before I'd booked the service elevator to move my things out of my apartment. Anyways, back to what happened when I was at the store. He mentioned that since it was month end they didn't have any other large trucks available and I could have a cargo van instead at noon, and I did appreciate that he did try to work with me to get another vehicle for my moving needs and I think I told him so but it's possible that I didn't because I was quite frustrated and trying to stay polite but my judgement and memory are probably a bit compromised because of that. But, unfortunately, I had large furniture to move so that wasn't an option for me and I needed a 15' truck. He told me he would call when it would become available if it was available before 2:30 which I did appreciate and I told him so. I went back to my apartment to continue packing and pick up lunch for my family that was helping me move and by the time I was back I got a call to come back around 150 from the rep, but I couldn't get there before 2:20 anyways due to traffic. I arrived at 2:20, which was 10 mins before the earlier originally agreed upon new pickup time (2:30). I was looking to discuss the matter with the store manager to get a reduction in price to account for the time I'd lost in my reservation at least (2.5 hours of the 8 hours I'd booked, so at least at 25% price reduction), but when I got in she was out momentarily and it added to my frustration that she wasn't available to discuss the matter. And of course I understand that staff are entitled to breaks, it was just bad timing you know. When I got in to pick up the truck a staff member told me that he'd called me to tell me to come earlier, as if I was late to pick up the truck and he was chastising me for it. I acknowledge that he might've not meant it that way and that he was probably just informing me that he'd called and followed up for me as we'd agreed upon earlier, but in my frustration in the moment I interpreted it as him chastising me for not showing up earlier and that interpretation of the situation added to my frustration. Thankfully the staff I did deal throughout the whole day with were overall apologetic, kind, and polite, including the rep who originally helped me and called back (he didn't do anything wrong and he was very helpful, I was just frustrated you know). Also the manager immediately processed a reduction in my price for the trouble and delays which I did appreciate very much. I can understand that there might be extra bookings at month end, however if you put yourself in my shoes it's very frustrating to show up to pick up a truck you reserved weeks earlier only to be told that it's not available for another couple of hours. And then to feel like you were chastised for showing up late to pick up the truck after the pickup time was already delayed 2.5 hours later than the original time, and not being able to discuss the matter with a manager that would have the decision-making authority to process a reduction in the price, even if you showed up earlier than your original agreed upon time for the new pickup, overall it was a very frustrating experience. However the truck itself and the return process were all very satisfactory and I was very happy with that. Overall, I'm more frustrated with the processes in place at the location and not the staff themselves who were all very helpful, kind, apologetic, and polite (including the rep who helped me originally). I would strongly recommend changing your processes to have a couple of extra more trucks available than you already do to deal with missing trucks due to the month end situation that was occurring. I know that'll cost you a bit of money but honestly I'm moving again soon and I'm reconsidering using uHaul for my next move so if you lose business because of these types of situations it might be worth eating the costs of having a bit more equipment idle and available for unforeseen circumstances like this so you don't have more negative customer experiences like mine in the future, or at least less of them. I'd like to think I'm a relatively patient and reasonable person but this situation added a lot of stress and frustration to an already stressful day because I was moving and moving is stressful and hectic in the best of times. Thank you for reading my feedback and I really hope you take it under consideration. Also, please don't hold it against the staff at the location because I can tell that they were doing their best to deal with an unfortunate situation and an admittedly frustrated customer (myself). This seems to be an operational issue that I had, not a staffing issue, and I hope that the solution can be an operational solution as opposed to a staff reprimanding solution. Thank you

I actually moved out on the 20th of March. I dealt with staff at the service desk about a truck rental and was told that they would close the storage unit account for me. I received a call from Everton on Friday March 28 enquiring about the open account and I explained it to him . As long there is no payment outstanding , I am satisfied.

I've used this location in the past, but this time they poured steering wheel oil over the hitch to help the bib screw down and secure onto the hitch. But no one ensured the hitch was also tightly screwed in as I suspect that the oil helped to loosen the bolt below (the one holding the hitch on) unfortunately it came off during my trip but somehow didn't damaged my truck. Fortunately, I wasn't traveling more than 30km/h when this happened. But it caused me alot of stress, and I had to find the nearest hardware store and buy a new hitch to get the trailer back to U-Haul.

Complete cluster. Checkin bar code was a bad treasure hunt. Desk clerk 0 help. Took 45 mins to do virtual checkin. First truck number given not on lot. Second truck plate number did not match. I have rented numerous uhaul trucks and this was by far the worst location ever. Had to go to get help multiple times and desk clerk made me and my wife feel like we were idiots...

The terminal for debit and chequing does not work properly. I spent over 1.5 hours trying many methods to make things work. My hired help for moving and driving left out of frustration and I had to pay him anyway $220. That meant I had to drive when I had recently come from hospital and I had to move things I should have. Then when I returned to put them in a just rented locker, there was a lock on the locker so I had no where to put my things. They had been unloaded so they sat unattended for also 24 hours because the door locked at 10!when I was trying to unload and then no locker then next day which I had packed with sea appointments. I have returned the 10' truck which is what I had to rent because my cards would not work. I have to pay but cannot because even though the POS was worked I. In the interim it still cannot read my cards. I have used them all in the interim and all but one works..it is scratched anday need replacing. There are also door openers that do not work and I use crutches. I could trouble shoot the whole place for you as that is what I do for a living.in return you could comp my truck rental and give me a one day rental of a cargo van which is what I wanted to do two days ago but couple not because of the POS machine

They did not completed a pre inspection, the truck smelled like cigarette and had coffee spilled in all of the cup holders. I only needed it for a short time, so I didn't need the cup holders anyways but it was disgusting. The truck steering wheel shook violently at highway speeds, which didn't feel safe at all. The cherry on the cake was I heard something moving around in the back of the truck, and when I opened it the utility dollies was just sliding around in the back. So I doubt this truck was checked after the last renter returned it, then try tried to charge me for using the dollie...

I usually have a great experience with Uhaul as I rent a van a few times a month for work. This time though the van was not prepared for me and was buried in snow, the tires were bald and the inside was pretty dirty from the last guest.

The U-haul box van had garbage on the interior cab floor when I picked it up. Then when I returned I was told there was garbage on the floor, I then told the employee that this garbage was there when I picked it up. I even showed him a photo of the interior I took when I picked it up, the employee said that wasn’t garbage in my photo. I would not recommend this location.

first, compnays need to stop with a central dispatch answer phone. satellite shops only have one person doing all the work!!!! second dispatch should remind or inform people that they CAN NOT park on the premise. had i been told i would have gotten a ride over to pick up the van. toronto was hit with a storm and streets were a mess!!! i was told to go find a parking spot somewhere in the neighbourhood...... really!!!!!!!!!!! this is most upsetting to me. then i had to prepay for the amount i was going to drive/ use. how do i know that? why dont you just take a set limit. in 4 hours how much possibly can i drive and stilll be back in the 4 hour that i rented the truck....... its a joke.

Great customer service whenever I need help from the workers and the building is easy to access - checking in and out, elevator use, carts. Unit that we occupied was perfect for our needs and easy to access. The location is very busy and can sometimes take time to get out of the lot, but easy to gain access to the building and find parking in the loading/unloading garage.

U-Haul has multiple numerous problems which will make me hesitate using it in future. Major problems include 1. Over-strict emergency contact rules, no other rental vehicle company requires an emergency contact who has to answer the phone at time of rental, this is over-strict and un-necessarily cumbersome 2. the phone app has a lot of bugs (eg. couldn't read drivers licence barcode, photo taking slow, etc). 3. Too much redundancy, I was already registered with U-Haul from a recent rental, why do I have to upload my licence again in the app at each rental, you already have that info 4. Vehicle fuel level should always be full, trying to record and manage partially full fuel is an un-needed hassle. 5. Expensive, $1/km is quite expensive rate, other than for very short distance usage Home Depot and other places have better moving vehicle rates, your cumbersome inefficient service doesn't justify the expensive rate

I’ve been a loyal U-Haul customer for over six years in Toronto and Montreal, and I have used storage facilities for the past 25 years. Given the frequent price increases, I expected my storage unit to be clean and safe. However, I recently discovered that my tubs and boxes were covered in dried urine and rodent hair, which was both disappointing and frustrating, as it’s literally in storage to keep it safe and clean. When I reached out to customer service, I had hoped for a conversation about a reasonable resolution, but instead, I was immediately redirected to the claims process without any discussion. Given my long-standing history with U-Haul, I would have expected the manager to reach out. I hoped that someone would take the time to address this situation properly, but it’s been days with no response. I will continue to need storage in the future, but whether I choose U-Haul again is looking less and less likely.

Terrible customer service at the pick up location. It was apparent it was a burden to the staff member to provide me the truck I reserved. The employee couldn’t even come outside to show me where the truck was located, after telling him the second time the truck was not out front, he finally came outside to retrieve the truck at the back of the lot. The drop off location was not honoured, requiring me to drive an additional 25 minutes to drop off the vehicle. I was instructed to call head office which was no help, and than in top of that, I’m over an hour late for my move and they call trying to upsell me for a storage unit. Absolutely awful experience

I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking to rent equipment or storage. The staff are incredibly courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. I had a few problems with timing to drop off due to extreme weather conditions coming across 3 provinces and the girls were very understanding and gave me an extension in drop off time. My storage was supposed to be free for a month but I was charged on my card for it, after careful consideration I ended up with 2 storage lockers. This saved the girls from trying to correct it, and myself from having to squeeze everything into one locker lol. A very pleasant experience indeed.

Location was very busy - took almost 1.5 hours after arrival to leave the lot with the rented van. The first van we recieved had the engine light on, and we had to get a new van after going through the process of checking out. Vans would be blocked by other vehicles and it took a long time just to leave the lot. The self check-in process to return the van wasn't clear and took some time to figure out.

1. Opted for counter pickup, forced to do mobile pickup even when there was only 1 customer ahead of me. 2. 10' Truck alloted by mobile pickup was parked last behind 4-5 other 10' trucks. 3. The uhaul representative did not check just gave me the keys and when i told her about mobile pickup, she said it ismonth end busy time and that i always can do mobile pickup. This was not professional. She did not check booking details & forgot to gave me furniture pads 4. I carried furniture pads to the back of the building to get my truck and came back after i realise that i cannot access my truck because it is parked behind other trucks. And when i told her this, she said said that it is just a small issue. This is again unprofessional. 5. I booked my truck for 12:00pm & I reached there around 11:45am and got my 2nd truck keys @ 12:15. So i lost half an hour just to go through all this. 5. When i brought back my truck, i realised that i cannot return my truck because my app still shows first truck contract agreement. When i requested employees to help, the lady at counter sitting free initially just passed on my request by telling me that 'X' person will help you return your return, when 'X' person said 'Y' person who is somewhere outside will do it. To which i got frustrated & escalated it back to those guys telling them that i need receipt immediately & then the lady at counter helped me return my truck. I also spoke to the store manager (female) and escalated to her that the employees need some serious customer service training. I have never seen such unprofessional behaviour at any other uhaul main location pr at its dealership. This was by far worst location in terms of experience.

I used the mobile app to get the vehicle. The mobile app does not allow you to go back when uploading photos. For instance when you're uploading photos and have to take a phone call and try to return to uploading photos, it won't allow that. It just moves on to the next step. Also I still have not received my final bill . I'm guessing that's because I used the mobile app and maybe some info was missing.

the first guy who we spoke with was a bit rude, slow in assisting customers and customer service needs to improve for his sensitivity. They assigned us a truck that was park in the middle of other trucks, duh? It took us more than an hour to check out a truck. I'm glad another guy, ( forgot to ask his name) came in help us which is more friendlier and assist us faster.

Friendly staff but unable to resolve my issue. When entering through the loading dock of the slinging doors close my code would not work saying access denied. The staff do not have access to the system to fix the issue. So I have to enter through the entrance door then go behind the sliding glass doors to open them which made the move so much longer. Also elevator doors close way to fast. The initial unit had a column in it then the new one didn't have a lock I had to go to the second floor get the lock from there which was a wate of time as well. With all these issues I could have been done well before 4pm which cost me time and money in a truck rental as well.

I did not appreciate my rate increasing when I didn't even get a notification of the facility switching away from 24hr access or even late night access to the loading docks. I only found out from my father who also has a storage locker at the facility. This was annoying and sometimes required more planning to get to the unit on time. I understand increases but my cost for this unit really was unreasonable in the 3 times I've owned it and I'm glad to have moved out. I also had one water spill near my unit in this time which wasn't communicated to me but luckily nothing was damaged in my unit. Otherwise it was reasonably clean and felt secure, no issues with staff. I would love it if U-Haul offered a partial refund as I am on the hook for almost 3 weeks of storage now with nothing to show for it. Thank you.

I booked a unti that was in the basement , $99 and when we were sent down there someone left a lock on the unit and we could not open it . We moved all our stuff to another floor and then they told us we either need to get a different ( smaller unit ) or pay $50 more per month. The discount was apparently because it was in the basement but they were not able to remove the lock left there nor give us a discount . I went back and for 3 times and in the end had to pay $50 extra a month even though I placed a reservation ahead and was guaranteed the spot based on the fact no one checked the unit I was penalized. I was also called later to remove the lock from the first unit which was not mine

Facility is clean and well kept, but is poorly designed for a large storage needs. It would be perfect for smaller storage needs, but not something like large furniture or lots of items. Unfortunately, the loading docks are very limited, very busy, and inconvenient. The single elevator is very small and slow, making it difficult to move lots of items. The distance between the large storage units and loading dock can be far. If your storage needs are more limited, none of these concerns would be a real problem. Staff were helpful and the building is very clean. The after hours access was super easy.

When we came to unload there were 2 uhaul trucks parked blocking the loading bay. We had to use the van loading area and could not back up so had to pick up everything and take it to our unit . escalators were filthy!

Service elevator was broken. We could only use the small elevator. Once we got to our unit on the second floor it was still locked. Luckily the previous renter of the unit was on site and could unlock it for us. we then realized there was a 2ft by 2ft pillar in the middle of the unit. Why would we pay for a 5x10ft unit when its really only 5x8ft. We then had to move units again. The process took way long than it need to and was very inconvenient.

I was told that to move out, I had to do it online and submit photos. I tried to do this but could not find my rental when logged into my account. I asked the office and was told that they moved me out on their end. I did not tell them that I was ready to be moved out, they just did it after I asked what the process was, and I still had 19 days left on my rental. So, be careful when moving out, that you no longer require the locker when inquiring about the move out process.

My auto pay is charged to my credit card every 24th of the month, but I'd had a security breach on my credit card so it was replaced. On calling the new card # in last week to U-Haul office the service rep. took new info fine but neglected to assign my locker # to the new card so the payment failed - another clerk called me informing my payment failed and then took my locker # and was able to take my payment immediately. I am not happy that the 1st service rep did not take the information properly and put my payment contract in jeopardy for my locker rental through no fault by me.

Booked storage unit online. Showed up and no storage unit was available. no other units of similar size available. Larger unit was available at a much higher monthly price, staff refused to discount the larger unit. Had an apartment's worth of stuff all packed up and was left with no storage unit because staff refused to pro use the larger available unit at the same price as the smaller one. The location should never have given me the unit or allowed me to book the unit and then they offered no help to rectify the situation.

Main reason for leaving was the rise in the monthly storage fees from when I initially signed up. Did the mobile pickup and dropoff for Uhaul and was not a pleasant experience. I wasted 45 minutes of my booked time at the beginning. I should have been informed that the process takes a long time then I would have started earlier. Same thing at the dropoff. It is a convenient service however its time consuming and this should be conveyed to clients.

I had a good enough experience with this facility until there was flooding and staff had to enter my storage unit to check for damages. They found none but changed the lock on the door. When I came back after a long time abroad, I was met with a very unprofessional staff member who left me waiting over an hour to get a new key for the new lock, but in the end they couldn't find it and I had to return on another date. This was inconvenient. Then, when I vacated my unit I did find water damage to boxes of books. The insurance policy is a long a tedious process which requires receipts for items I bought years ago.

My experience at U-Haul was great. My belongings were safe and secure and I had easy access when needed. My only complaint is that when I originally booked my storage unit, the one I wanted was not available and I had no choice but to take a much larger unit and pay DOUBLE the price of the one I booked which was available online and the website let me complete the reservation - however when I arrived they said it wasn’t available and my only option was to take the 5x10 walk-in unit. The website should ACCURATELY reflect the inventory. I was not expecting to pay almost $200 per month when the one I reserved was $79

The storage unit I was given was not the dimensions I paid for. It wasn’t a rectangular shape and there was a column part of the wall that took up square footage that took up space meaning lost sq footage. The front desk and customer service rep couldn’t provide me with an alternate unit and I was forced to cancel. U-Haul should take not that unit 3040 feels like an afterthought and should not be sold to future customers at the price of a 8x4x8 unit.

When I first rented my locker, I rented a truck with it. I discussed with the desk worker that I'd be returning at 11pm to move items to my locker and return the truck. When I arrived, I discovered the facility was closed and I couldn't gain access. This was not mentioned as a possibility beforehand by any member of staff. In order to resolve the issue, I had to contact a U-Haul representative from Texas to have my rental extended and had to spend money on an overnight parking space for the truck. The next day when I arrived, I found the locker I'd been assigned had a broken door. It was not and could not be closed due to the damage. I went to the office to request a different unit. I was told there no units of the same size available, but that I would be switched to a different locker at the same price of $89/m. When I received my bill, I discovered that was incorrect and I was being charged greater than $150/m. If I were informed of this initially, I would not have chosen that option. It took nearly two weeks for me to get in contact with a manager to correct the invoice. When I was finally able to contact a manager, I was told the price continuing onward would be $150/m. When I arrived to pay my bill the following month, I was charged greater than that amount. On this occasion, the desk worker put through the correct charge without much trouble on my end. However, that error should not have happened in the first place and I should not have had to reach out to the office to pay my bill when I had set up my account through the U-Haul app to be payable digitally. Additionally, the office area at 355 Weston Rd is not wheelchair accessible. Though there is a ramp to the door, it is not possible to open the door and exit the building while using a wheelchair. I have a dynamic disability, requiring differing mobility aids at different times and when I arrived in a wheelchair, I needed to request assistance from desk staff to open the door for me, reducing my dignity and independence, and leaving business unaligned with the Ontario Accessibility Standards and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005. I hope you will review your staff training so they are aware of costs that will be put upon customers, and that you will review the discriminatory inaccessibility of your building so your business can align itself with provincial and federal standards. Thank you for providing me with this opportunity for feedback

The first unit I attempted to move into (had reserved) had a blue liquid leaking from the adjoining unit. It also had a pipe that removed storage area that had not been noted in the reservation info (other units noted pillars in the unit). The staff were quick and helpful in assisting with securing a new unit for me. The service was very good. Access hours for loading dock access could be extended on Sundays. This is a major moving day for many and there were many other customers making use of the area on Sunday evening while I was there. Overall I was pleased and impressed with the facility.

I went 3 times to the U-Haul store, on Weston Road, in Toronto, to know and rent a storage. The attendant showed me the options and for my need the ideal size was 5'x7', $ 84.95 per month. As I did not have the desired size available at that time, I checked it on the internet until an availability appeared and booked it. On Saturday, April 29, I went to the store to make the deal. We confirmed again the information, size, model and values and made the payment. After everything was done, I went to the storage to see the location, on the way we found the employee who attended us initially and he accompanied us, when he arrived there was an employee cleaning and we thought it was strange, because our storage would be at the top and they said it was the bottom one, the smallest. Then all my annoyance began, because they wanted to convince me that it was the same storage, that it had the same storage size!! What do you mean? No one is stupid, of course it was not the same size, it was the smallest, 5'x5', and they tried to convince me and say that it was 5x5x5 and not 5x5x8, at no time of the 3 times I was at U-Haul they told me these differences, they showed me only 5x7 and 5x5, This is a deception, misleading advertising from U-Haul, I have the photos here of the storages that you have on display in the stores. Anyway, I went back to the office and talked to the manager, who just didn't care about the unpleasant situation I went through and the wrong information that the employees gave me too, and she just told me that that size of storage has not been available for a long time!! Unfortunate!! So why did it appear on the availability website? I made the reservation!! And if I wasn't available, why didn't they inform me when I got there? I stored my furniture and items here for a year and a half. It was so convenient, very well kept and safe place. I chose the temperature controlled units and it was great because I had no damage to my items, and it made moving items in and out (on many occasions) easy for myself and others helping me move. My experience at this location was abysmally disappointing enough to swear of U-Haul for any future consideration and compels me to warn any friends from ever using your company again. Over many years, I have utilized your rental vehicles, but this 14 month locker rental has me rethinking. Upon every attempt to acquire the attention of your service people at this location, I've had to wait un unimpressive amount of time. Yet behind the large, so-called "one way" mirror that leads to the back room, I could always see the employees chatting among themselves, sometime typing away on their phones before acknowledging me waiting patiently for their service. And when they finally did come into play, they'd walk to the desk, even if I was all alone waiting and simply bleat "NEXT!" Purely unacceptable customer service. Lastly, your policy of non-refundable payment on a prorated basis sickens me, I paid $200 for 2 days of storage for the month of December. You should prorate a refund for days unused. Sickening that you don't when your competitors do. I'm happy to tell you that I will never use U-Haul again and will overtly go out of my way to dissuade friends from using U-Haul. Everything went really well with the uhaul truck rental - no complaints there. My only issue was I reserved a certain storage unit that when I arrived on site to finalize was no longer available….so i had to rent a larger more expensive storage unit after much time spent in the office working to sort this out. Not sure what happened there but the process caused delays with our move that was a bit frustrating. Moving our things into the storage unit went very smoothly.

I was pretty disappointed with the dimensions and location of the locker (ie not at ground level and very awkward to pack). I rented a 5x5x8 locker and it is not that size. I had to store a queen size bed, which is heavy, but not rigid. The bed does not fit neatly within the locker due to the smaller dimensions and I had to lift it up to the second level up some risky moveable steps. Because the door was not 5 feet across, the interior dimensions not 5 feet across and the locker was almost 6 feet above ground level, it was extremely difficult to put my bed in there. Because I had to store my bed on an angle in the locker, I will not be able to store much more of my stuff in there. It is what it is. Place is very clean (although the rodent trap in there makes me a bit nervous - hopefully nothing dies in there and stinks up my mattress and the small amount of clothing I was able to store); staff is nice and friendly; the facility seems secure. I'll still rent trailers and stuff from UHaul, but I probably won't store stuff there anymore.

There's no level of accountability from uhaul. They somehow messed up at every interaction I ad with them: truck being late, rental equipment not being available, passcode for after hours access not working after being set up, being charged for a second day of rental due to not being able to store my items in the storage unit since the password they gave me was wrong and having nowhere to go (I was told I wouldn't be). After all this I was told it's my fault for sleeping in the truck nearby instead of spending money on a hotel, I was told to "figure it out" when calling for support about my passcode for after hours access not working (they set up the wrong one instead of using my phone number). Nobody there really cares about you as a customer or even a human being for that matter. But the staff at the location was nice and friendly though. Rent at a nearby warehouse.

Rep “sold” me a unit explaining that it was the expected size and even showed me in person the sample unit in the showroom, we agreed to go ahead. He gave me a price, I did not check, started the billing cycle and he proceeded to charge my card. Then a couple days later we brought our boxes up only to find that 40% of the unit was inaccessible due to concrete bulk head and roll up door interior. We wasted days and hired help having to relocate to another unit, promised to be the same price. AFTER we relocated all our stuff they automatically charged me more saying “well it’s a bigger unit” without agreeing with me first. AGAIN wasted a week and had to hire help again to come and remove everything as it was not in our budget and frankly the service was horrible. Staff would stand by with a blank look while the elevator didn’t work, and said we had to walk around the building to get them to find help at the front desk, all while she was standing there doing nothing holding a radio and a mobile phone. Doing nothing. Wandering around checking her phone doing who knows what but defo not customer service. I’ve never had such bad service anywhere. Wasted at least $300 on nothing and 10 days of redundant service and waste precious time trying to move house - setting me back at least 2 weeks timeline besides the wasted money. Total waste of my money and time. I’ll be making the same complaint public on Google and BBB.

Over the course of eleven months, my locker experienced two floods. The first time, my locker was moved to another location **on the same basement floor**. It was bizarre, since that didn't fix the issue. Two months later, my locker was flooded. Again. With sewage. It was awful. I lost a few boxes. The management did not offer to compensate me, or to move me to a locker that would be less prone to flooding. The flood issue has been subsequently fixed (so they say), but I would not recommend this storage facility.

I’ve used uhaul for two long haul moves and paid thousands of dollars to them in the past month. Uhauls booking system is filled with errors and misscommunications. Both of my moves where very stressful (naturally) and having uhaul representatives not able to find my reservation to assist me/ reservations not being properly connected caused a domino effect of problems . There was an internal system error that delayed my move by a day. I ended up finding a hotel to sleep in for the night and paying extra unplanned costs. Calling the main uhaul number I am being transferred to different folks who aren’t able or willing to help me in my dispute. I was informed that even though an internal error caused this issue I would need to speak to the general manager of Toronto to settle my dispute. When she called me from +1 (416) 335-1260 she said her name was Karen. Her demeanour was very defensive and rude. She hung up on me, when I called back I spoke to a person named Donna who left me on hold for an hour of complete silence and never called back Every in-person interaction I’ve had with uhaul customer service at Stockyards location has been great - calling in for assistance to the main uhaul number has been a nightmare. I am left with the impression that because I already paid my rental fees there is no real interest in assisting me Very appreciated of the folks in person at the location to assist. They were amazing help along the way - But I am very disappointed and sad to say the least about Uhauls system for following up post-move to settle disputes. Because of this I am left with a poor experience and do not feel valued as a customer

The main problem I had using this service was that you did not accept visa debit for online payment. This made paying for my storage unit a complete hassle and waste of time. Multiple times I had to take time off work and go out of my way to pay for my storage unit in person rather than online or on the phone. I personally wouldn’t recommend your service to anyone who chooses to pay with visa debit opposed to a credit card. If you fix those issue I would though.

When I called specifically told them that I needed a unit to put a Queen size bedroom set they reserved a 5 by 5 by 5 it were a small box that could not even put my dresser. So when I went to check in I asked the lady at the desk if it would be big enough to hold my queen size bedroom so she took me to show me the size that they reserved on phone ,it were not what I needed so she gave me the bigger size a 5by 6by 7 but it too small. I think they should educate there employees of the sizes appropriately for customers description. Also there were not enough moving cart for a search a big and well known facility. There were only 4 carts and numerous people were moving. The alarm keeping on going off when using the elevator even when you put the code. Also there were no one to assist you at the facility everyone is at the office only one person at the front desk the to help the customers and we had to wait about an hour to get help another person, while customers coming and going because of the long wait time.

Even though I had made an online reservation, when I arrived, I was told the unit was not available, with walk-ins given priority. Fortunately, another similar size unit was available. It worked out, as the unit I thought I was getting needed a ladder to access it and we had several heavy pieces of furniture. Parking was confusing but ultimately manageable. I think the U-haul website should mention that some lockers are accessible only by a ladder and should also mention that walk-ins are honoured over reservations. Other than those two suggestions, this particular site is very, very nice and I would recommend it to others.

Would love to give a higher rating, but.. I booked online on the 25th of October, for a move-in date on the 26th. I figured I have all day of the 26th *as is convenient for me* to store my belongings.. makes sense right? I received a voicemail on the 26th at 3pm from staff saying that they assume I've moved out and will be cancelling my storage unit. WUT? So I called back within 10 min saying, no, please leave my unit for me I just haven't had the time to come and bring my belongings yet and I've only just booked the unit the night before! I would probably be there later that evening, as I understand storage access hours are until 10pm. They said no problem. I get to the facility at 7:30pm with a truck full of my things, only to find that my access code is denied as well as there is no lock for the unit I booked. I can't talk to anyone about remedying the situation because office is closed, and head office (although available) obviously can't help get me in to my unit. So I have to go back home and unload everything that I had loaded up, just so I could repeat the process the next day when office opens. Frustrating obviously. Either your online booking system has some bugs, or the girl I talked to on the phone that afternoon didn't do her job. I would like to say though that the staff member who helped me get in on the morning of the 27th (and had served me in the past for other services) was lovely, and this woman deserves a raise.

In regard to question number 6. It’s very clean from one perspective but the other perspective it isn’t. The mop head is extremely musty. When using the mop the whole place would end up smelling musty. Would highly recommend getting a fox washing machine and dryer to wash and change the mop heads out or just put a new mop head on every 3-4 weeks. Also after using the mop store it upside down so it can dry, don’t leave it in the bucket (can’t dry in the bucket). Overall, customer service, access, security was great, thanks so much!

My storage unit was slanted. I didnt receive the full 5x5x8 because of this. You should do a walk through with the customer when they rent the unit. I wasnt loading it until after hours and didnt take a look at the unit until then. Since I loaded after hours there was nothing I could do, no staff to contact. I had to throw out a bunch of my furniture. I will never be using Uhaul for anything ever again.

there were customers moving out blocking the docks and the driveway which made our moving out delayed over an hour. Your office employees did not deal with those rude customers and let them park their truck in the driveway anyway. They were also using all the building moving equipment and hoarding the elevator for themselves. You need to put up instruction rules on the use of the facility and not allow people like to act this way. We pay movers by the hour and this was a waste of my time and money. If you fine those rude customers they will stop acting this way but ignoring this behaviour will make you lose customers like me.

Would be beneficial if others working could. Had a decent experience with my unit while being there, but first getting it we had a horrible experience. First of all—I was told that there was the size I wanted and that for sure it was there when I came back to move my stuff in… and then I came back another day and there wasn’t any of the size I wanted. I had to get a bigger unit and pay way more which I wasn’t impressed with whatsoever… but I didn’t have a choice. Also along with the inconvenience every time I was in the store waiting to talk to people—the wait time was ridiculous and honestly the staff were slow with doing things. Especially when going to rent a trailer or truck. Other then that I had a good experience. Never had a problem accessing my unit or anything along those lines.

Our experience with this storage and staff was great and I would probably give it all 5 stars and rave reviews if it wasn't for the unfortunate ending. We came yesterday to empty our storage since it was no longer needed. When the elevator door opened small dishaveled man carring plastic bag came out. Some liquid was trickling down from that bag and when we entered the elevator small puddle of brownish liquid was on the elevator floor.The stench was unbearable!!!! It smelled like stale urin. Awful!!! I have told two staff members about it. I believe one staff member told the small disheveled man to pick up that stinky plastic bag which he just left by the automatic door of the storage facility entrance. However, no one cleaned the elevator floor. The stench in the elevator was so terrible that every time we had to take it to get our stuff out was nauseating.

I've only ever had great experiences with your staff. In fact, when I closed my account with you I had the most lovely person help me do this. However, I brought my stuff home and I found many dead cockroaches in my boxes. I have never ever had cockroaches so this was distressing and made me worry that some had crept into boxes and would infest my home. As I'm sure you can imagine this was very unsettling. Our unit was recently affected due to the flood in the facility. We did appreciate receiving a phone call from the front office to check for damage. Based on the watermarks on our items, there was at least a foot of water in our unit. We paid for the additional insurance provided as an option by U-Haul and were encouraged by the front office to file a claim. We filed a claim and it was immediately denied because U-Haul told the insurer the flood was caused by the city sewers overflowing and this was not covered by the insurer. Did U-Haul file a claim with the city if this in fact was the cause of the flood? Did U-Haul offer to pass on any compensation received from the city to those tenants affected? Did U-Haul offer any compensation for our inconvenience and time clearing out the unit, throwing out hundreds of dollars worth of property and trying to salvage what we could? (but honestly, we didn't know what was in that water...) No follow up from U-Haul at all. Basically we paid for additional insurance (again offered by U-Haul) which isn't covering any of our losses. It seems like the customers are the ones out of pocket from this and we had no recourse but to stop using the facility altogether.

Someone tried to break into my unit!!! Someone tried to cut through the metal latch. They didn’t get through all the way thankfully. But I couldn’t get into my own unit because they broke it so bad. Staff on site were helpful in helping me get into my own unit with tools. But there is definitely a serious security flaw at this facility if stuff like this can happen. Would not recommend this facility due to this poor security. And is anyone going back to look at the video footage of someone trying to break into my unit? Should a police report be filed? I’m pretty sure you guys are just going to forget about the issue. But it will surely happen again if you don’t improve security.

The person who checked me in was very nice and patient. She gave very clear instructions to access the facility (down to which parking bay was best for the truck I rented). The dollies were super convenient and appreciated. The place felt very clean and well cared for and the floors were so smooth for moving dollies - really great. Only one point of feedback: The elevator door closes as soon as you exit, which was difficult for us moving the dolly into the elevator as it closed on us a few times. Would be better if the door waited a little before closing. Also it would be nice to have another elevator for busier days so there is less waiting, but that is a smaller detail. Upon initial move in, the area of use in the storage unit did not meet the advised dimensions because of the fire sprinkler pipe running through the unit. We were forced to upgrade to something 3x the price to offload our items. This was unfortunate, but the manager Tanya was very patient and responsive when addressing my concerns. I greatly appreciated her time and effort to provide me solutions that worked for my needs. I ended up cancelling my storage, but not for lack of service.

Hasty market took 30 minutes to give me the keys and return the car. There is only 1 car in the parking lot. Spending an hour waiting in a convenience store when it's completely empty doesn't make much sense to me. Especially when he had my ID and credit card the entire time. Was he stealing my identity? It was my first time moving into self storage, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised at this location. Purchasing, check in, and access was simple and secure both for pedestrian and cars (you can pull right into a covered loading dock for self storage). I purchased a climate controlled locker and was surprised how clean and well lit the facility was. Although my unit was on the 2nd floor, the elevator worked smoothly and there were wheeled carts available to borrow. I was impressed to find a poison control box in my storage unit too. I enjoyed how the entrance to self storage is located close to the front, rather than the back of other self storage facilities I've seen. The only small inconvenience were the steps / ledge at the loading dock for smaller/van-sized vehicles. There was not a lot of room to move large furniture and it required lifting from the van to the ledge at chest level. More room and a ramp would have been ideal, but with 2 or more people it is not a problem. Although there was a bit of a wait (Sunday) the day I moved in, all representatives were very pleasant and helpful, and the general manager was accommodating when I requested a unit on a lower floor. They were also helpful when I was unsure about what size storage locker to purchase. All in all, I had a very positive experience and an optimistic about leaving my personal belongings at this facility.

I am 6' 1" and because of a structural column, the entrance to our compartment is about 5" on a higher level, so I climb the steps, and smashed my head against the door. There should be a warning on the door, watch your head, especially because the compartments on either side have normal height doors. I went home with my face covered in blood. I am not the suing type, but I think this really needs your attention.

I would like to compliment Sonny (Sunny? Suni?), one of the employees at your location, for his effort. Every time we went to your location he was working extremely hard and seemed to be working 2 or 3 jobs at the same time. I think you should have more people to help manage the parking lot, cleaning vehicles, driving vehicles, etc. Sonny was always working very very hard and needs more help.

You charge 10 dollars for after hours entry , the elevators where extremly small and the loading docks are to low or to high for pick ups . It was a total waste of my time , energy and gas . The only positive thing was when I asked for a refund it was given back every penny You over charge as i found another storage place that was 85 dollars cheaper for the same 10 by 10 with 24 access at no extra charges

We were a long term rental (16 month) and we enquirer about long term rates - asked to speak with manager who was hard to get a hold of. Finally manager approved a 1 mnth rebate - but only if I was to call back before the next processing month. This was never processed after 2 attempts In addition I left only 1 week into my last month of rental and there was no discussion about the possibility of prorating some of the month. The unit can be clearly rented again. This was very unfortunate customer service.

I needed to switch to much more larger storage where she sorted it out and found a solution immediately... Though trollies were readily available. Most definitely non acceptable customer service experience. UHaul representative was unable to provide sufficient service knowing system was down. Alternative support was poorly handled, when had access in hand to provide the help needed. In future, would never recommend working with this storage facility, though was dismayed having trusted uhaul MANY times in the past! First time storage user, this too, having declared not an avid online user, were treated as deeming an inconvenience having to aid in the first place. If system is down, and too much to handle, perhaps it’s best to take some time off until easier. Actually put in an effort to place feedback, as I never.

Positives: The storage unit met its purpose for us, the staff was friendly anytime time we interacted with them. Negatives: The access hours are inconvenient, you can’t always predict how long a move will take. I’ve written about this before to U-Haul and did not get any response. When we moved into the unit I had booked online previous but was made to go through the entire process again. I am not sure how it was possible but it too 40+ minutes, not including the time I waited in line. This cost us an extra 200+ dollars from our movers because we had to book them longer.
