Friendly staff. I was in and out in minutes. Trailer floor had a bit of sand and a strong smell of campfire smoke. I ventilated it for several hours and smell went down considerably. Otherwise great.

More accurate gasoline level. I was told I had to return 9/16 full but there was only a quarter tank actually in the truck when I picked up. Also return was haphazard. 2 trucks that arrived after me were addressed and processed before me.

ANITA PWas not told I couldn't use cash app, and tthe document I received verifying the fuel level was wrong. It stated that I had a half a tank of fuel, when in fact it was 1/4 less, which means, the fuel level wasn't verified at the previous drop off. I dropped the vehicle off with well over a half a tank, and was refunded $49.00, Overall 3.5, out of 5 stars!

JONATHAN EUpon my arrival, access to car parking was blocked by Uhaul and other vehicles double parked with no Uhaul personnel around to direct. I had no choice but to park in lot reserved for Uhaul trucks or double park causing more chaos. I waited in line for over 20 minutes. The location was under staffed.

LOGAN MHello, as your records will show i use your service at this location several times a year. It's convenient for me and I like the people at this location generally. They are very professional my experiences has been quick and very pleasant. This location seems to have a high turnover. This particular experience ended very unpleasantly because of what I now "believe" was a stolen item I mistakenly left in your rented vehicle. My cell phone was left behind by mistake because i was running after a local bus that takes me home from that location which is only a couple of miles away (mind you). About halfway to my destination I discovered my phone was left in the truck. Rather than getting off the bus and waiting for another to take me back I felt it best to continue to get my car and then return to retrieve my property, after all when i returned the truck the service guy and the security personnel were right there a couple of feet away at check-in. I even handed the key to the security personnel who was standing right there by the truck I returned and because of that fact I didn't panic when I realized i left my phone in the center cup holder in your vehicle. I was away for 20 minutes tops...when I got back I noticed the truck I rented was checked in and ready to be rented again. At this point, I'm sure they have the phone inside and are waiting for me to come pick it up. But to my amazement nobody new or saw anything. I find that so hard to believe. The conversation I had with both the security guard and your employees, were confusing an aluth at best. I hope someone get back to me about this soon. I've made a copy of this and will be forwarding it to a number of poeple within the organization. Sincerely, a repeat long time customer.

Melanie BI reserved a dolly online only to find out they were sold out. I drove out there specifically thinking I could get a dolly with a truck to help me with my move. Then not having any almost ruined my entire move in process, if possible, try and make sure the website is updated with recent information on inventory.

NECOLE RI had made a reservation for a u-haul truck, one furniture dolly, one appliance dolly, and furniture pads two weeks before I needed them. I called three days before my reservation to make sure the Takoma u-haul location had my reservation and had the utilities and materials I had reserved. U-haul confirmed that the items in my reservation would be there at when I reserved them. When I arrived to pick up the items I had reserved, I was informed that the Takoma Park location did not have any dollies, nor did any other u-haul locations in the area. What can u-haul do to improve for the next customer? Make sure that each customer's reservation is ready to go day of pick-up or else what is the point of having a reservation and confirming the materials will be there to the customer.
Eliza MEveryone at this location was excellent to work with but I’d like to personally recognize Bashir who has gone above and beyond in his customer service. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. This is how customer service should be handled. I will return and look forward to working with him again.

KATHRYN KLong waiting time. Couldn't find my order for awhile. Biggest thing was calling me the day before to notify me that the hand truck and dolly I reserved were not available at my location nor any location anywhere in the metro DC area. Ridiculous. However they said they would sell me the equipment that they did have in stock. They blame theft. But if you rent to people and they don't return wouldn't you have their information to follow up on with theft? Anyway don't promise something to rent and then call and take it away.

SHIBABACHW ZThe only concern I had was how hard it was to get the trailer off the trailer hit at the drop off point. The U-Haul workers there mentioned that it might have been tightened before the ball was completely on. It was tough to remove, but other than that, great service.

I would have benefited with a windshield sunshade that I've had on previous rentals. Relatively small things. i was quick in and out which is most important.

JAMES GMake sure that the person whose credit card is used for the rental is also the contact person. In my case, the second driver for some reason was made the contact person, making it more difficult for me to call to extend the rental. Not a big deal, but somewhat annoying.

JONATHAN MI requested on the rsv a dolly and really needed it. When I arrived, the rep said no dollys available with no empathy whatsoever, she didn't care the slightest. So I bought a floor dolly for $20 which worked out great but at the time I was in panic without a dolly and was stunned at the rep....just a little empathy i think is due for customers.
KATHRYN GThe staff was amazing. However, the 15ft truck I reserved was in poor condition. Something was wrong with the transmission. It would not shift out of 1st gear for the longest time. The driver side mirror would not stay where I set it. Every time I hit a bump the mirror moved causing me to readjust it. The had this minor squeak. And lastly, when turned off the truck, it became harder to start it. This truck had Arizona tags. For the safety of the renter UHaul needs to maintain their equipment better. With these issues to the truck I rented I could had have had major injuries and been stranded on the road because the truck would not start.

SEYED YOne pin on the connector for the brake lights was broken off. The brake lights did not work on the trailer. This trailer should have been taken out of service until the connector had been replaced.

CHARLES BI have been renting from U Haul after coming to DC in 1978 but am not sure when Uhaul was in DC. I have used Uhaul with the American Red Cross when I began an 8-10 Disaster Relief Administrator around 2006 on over 27 disaster relief deployments throughout the USA including American Samoa. Thank you I run a vets organization estd in 1968 and we have been using Uhaul for our homeless and transitional housing program from 1984 to present. regarding this rental experience yesterday and today. this location is good, the staff are personable and professional the only problem is that they seem to be understaffed and it is virtually impossible to get connected to their phone. i ahve to use central hdgts all the time. have mix ups recently but still good people. will try to meet the mgr. today one of my vets accidently put in 20 dollars and estimated 20 plus dollars more than we should have when we returned the truck. I called to try to at least let them know but no one ever responded. Also today I had an emergency doctors appt at 0815 hrs and i had to return the truck by 0900. I called to ask for 1 hour extension and Uhaul informed me no problem but there would be a 60 dollar charge. I was not happy. I had to leave my doctor's appt at the DC VA medical center at after only 20 mins in order to get the truck. when I arrived everyone (1) person at the desk told me to leave the key on the desk. I tried to find someone checking the trucks in and there was no one there either. I left and could not connect to the office ,,,,, natl said they would leave a msg to calll me but no one did to my knowledge. I will continue to use Uhaul. I have worked with scores of locations around the country and in DC MD and VA area for as I stated for over 40 years in this area alone. CB hope to hear from Mgr. Ventura I usually use 5th ST and DC locations.
