Nothing We were very pleased and liked the new added area which made it easier to get and return the trailer.
DONNA BMy only problem I have is, I just drove to the Kansas City area from the San Antonio, Texas area. After driving 14 hours and going to the U-Haul location, I asked about leaving my truck one day at the location until I could unload it the next day I was told no I could not do that. I completely do not understand this whatsoever. The location had acres and acres of cemented land where they park trucks and trailers and tow transport and had more than enough area for me to park my truck instead I had to drive 25 miles away to an area for me to park it then I had to Uber, which cost me $45 back to the U-Haul location so that I could pick up my vehicle. I find this very inconsiderate and inconvenience so now I have to Uber back out to the location to pick up the truck and then drive it back to Olathe to the U-Haul location there so I can get a storage unit to unload the truck. Now the other problem that arises from this I was only given 937 miles to drive from San Antonio, Texas to Kansas City and now that I’ve had to drive from Grandview out to blue Springs and now back to Olathe because of the inconvenience of having to find another place to park the truck I now am going to go over in mileage and now U-Haul is going to charge me a dollar and a dollar extra per mile which is not my fault because U-Haul would not be considerate enough to me as I am 100% disabled veteran and they couldn’t even help me out for one day to let me park a truck

JOSEPH RProbably the worst experience we had. Also spoke to U-Haul over the phone and the lady was sarcastic and extremely unfriendly. We were assured there would be “plenty” of storage available at the location we were told to drop off at, but the only storage available was extremely inconvenient for our needs as we had multiple large pieces of furniture. We then had to quickly find storage with another company and because of that we were charged a late fee. Absolutely unprofessional and rude employee at this location. Consider not just hiring anybody to represent your company. We will go out of our way to never use U-Haul again.

tenaya f | Overall ExperienceThe truck was filthy. Had no gas in it. Didn’t have the standard dolly I ordered. Didn’t have the furniture dolly I ordered. The windshield was had so many bugs on it I could barely see out. I had to settle for an appliance dolly with wheels so worn out it was barely usable. I had to buy a padlock for the back of the truck. The lock I bought didn’t open up enough to fit over the holes on the back door of the truck. The alignment was off. I had to drive 600 miles with a sideways steering wheel. The ac would blow when the accelerator was being pressed. So most of the trip was very hot and uncomfortable.

ERIN LFor some reason this trailer caused a severe vibration when empty. We have rented several 5x8 U-Haul trailers before and never experienced this issue. It made our entire pick up vibrate.

Something went wrong with the check in and approximately two weeks later I got notification from corporate that I still had trailer out and if I didn't return, I would could be charged for a replacement. Finally had to make a trip back to rental site to resolve. Turns out trailer was stolen off the lot. Young man remembered me because of the tire issue I had and cleared me out of the system. Hopefully problem is resolved. Found out this may not have been first trailer stolen off the lot.

Not having access during hours promised on contract. On one occasion I came to get in 30 minutes before store closed and the clerk refused to let me in. I always had to wait while clerks finished helping customers inside store though I was a paying customer. I hope not needing storage space again but if needed I will definitely look into other places.

Hope G | First ImpressionsI was completely dissatisfied….I didn’t use my storage for a full month and was charged for a full month….I also was unable to get my things out of storage for 1 full week because of the parking lot asphalt being replaced and painted….there was no warning or head up notices for this work being done….July 31st I was surprised to see the place was coned off to access the facility…I was told by august 4th that I would have access….on august 4th I was told I wouldn’t have access until august 6th….the results of me hiring movers twice, no access twice, not using the unit for a month, not having access for a week, and not being compensated for time and money I spent, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all….and I will be contacting corporate to make another complain about this situation…
Harlon B | Overall ExperienceThe U-Haul “System” seems to be pretty poor. When I reserved a trailer in Birmingham AL to move sone things to Grandview MO, they asked if I needed any storage. I reserved a storage space at Truman Corners in Grandview but when I arrived there to turn the trailer in, they said there were no unit’s available. It was only because of the General Manager’s efforts to work out a solution for me that it worked out at all. Great job by the manager but pretty poor job by U-Haul. The staff at U-Haul said this is not uncommon. The U-Haul reservation system seems to be the problem. That is not good customer service or good business practice. Great job by the GM and one other staff person at Truman Corners for finding me a storage solution.
