I know it’s hard to find good help but if you have someone like this you’re not gonna have customers coming back because nobody wants to be treated that way.

THOMAS EIt would've been excellent. But they told me I wasn't able to get a 10x10 storage when I called the day before. One was available but they said someone is coming in to pay for it. I stated isn't it first come first serve. They said yes. I said we'll I spoke to someone yesterday and now I am here first thing in the morning when this person just came today. And who knows if they even come back with their card. Because who goes to get a storage unit with no means of pmt. He said there was nothing he could do. So I got a 10x15 later that night I got an email canceling my reservation or the 10x10.

DARYL MI have just one issue with how you run customers credit cards. I gave you my credit card information. I told the person taking my reservation over the phone that it would not be myself (a 63 yr old woman) driving the 26’ truck but will be my son who graciously took 2 days off to help me. You took his card when he went to pick it up instead of mine that you asked for initially. This caused me to take cash to reimburse him, then it happened a second time. I reimbursed him again. Then upon returning the truck…a third time!!! I wanted this on my credit card for financial purposes NOT to pay all of this expense upfront. If this is your policy, I would have expected and appreciated being told this when I asked you. This caused a lot of stress for my son and a hardship on me for having to pay “cash” upfront. Not happy whatsoever!

I was scared to pieces something would happen to the van. Thank you excellent staff for your utmost patience with me in this matter.

Rachel CThe issue I had was not with the location, but with U-Haul as a whole. I was offered insurance and I took the insurance and was told that I would be covered no matter what happened. I live in upstate New York and there is snow on the ground and the U-Haul got stuck. I called the store and they gave me the number for roadside assistance and told me that I could just come and they would send somebody out so I called roadside assistance and they told me it would cost me $450 to have somebody come out and tell me 5 feet. They were not understanding of the fact that I was told I was covered and I was not offered any other type of insurance. The manager was not helpful in figuring out how to handle this with me and I was not pleased with my experience. I rent from U-Haul quite often and always get the insurance but the one time I need it I am not covered even though I got it. The manager told me it was because I didn’t get the second insurance, but I was never offered the second insurance, and this location, even confirmed that I was never offered the insurance, but roadside assistance still blamed me

JANARIOUS HYou need to provide a lock for the truck. I bought one there at your store. It did not fit. I unfortunately did not take the receipt. An hour later, I took the lock back. They refused to give my money back. You've lost a customer forever over $12. Lousy business practice.
JAMES MI went at 7am. On Saturday /25/20251 to pick up a motorcycle trailer. The gentleman who helped me was very nice cleaned off the trailer of snow and hooked it up for me. When I was done and brought the trailer back at 6:50pm that same night there was a different guy and a girl working. When I told them I was returning the trailer they both never even looked up at me nor mo Ed to even take trailer off my car or look at it. They told me to put it in a spot that was open. So I had to take it off myself and put it in a spot. Poor customer service when they couldn't even look at me. Not sure if I will use Lomond Place Utica NY again because of this. If they didn't want to work then they should find another job.

MIGUEL RI was disappointed because when I rented the Uhaul in Brooklyn, I paid $1,247 in cash and was told that I would receive the $100 deposit I paid in cash upon returning the truck. We returned the truck after store hours a day before it was due. I called the next morning, spoke to Joe and was told they will have to mail a check to me for my deposit because all monies from yesterday were deposited. I asked why could I not co.e in the next day to get my deposit back in cash as I was told I would get when I rented the truck in Brooklyn, ny. Joe's response was "I'm not responsible for what people in Brooklyn told you and that there was nothing he could do to get my cash deposit to me. He said it will be mailed via check. It was upsetting that Uhaul does not stand by its word.

I did speak to a nice gentlemen online that said I would have to wait till they open up at 9:00 So I did. The girl that took care of me was terrible - not friendly, not nice no smile. She said I had to complete on line because she just put the key in the box. I tried 4 times and it would not go through so finally she took care of me but was not friendly about it. She treated me like I was bothering her. My trip was suppose to start at 8 and it did not start till 9:30. So it was a rush to get it back in time. I would not recommend this location ever. I have to move more items this weekend and I have gone out of town to get the truck because I did not want to deal with your employee again.

WILLIAM POnline pickup was a hassle. I entered info way too many times and repetitively. The dolly wasn't included nor were the straps. Those were options I chose when at initial reservation screen. They were not included or given to me or in the truck. It's a good thing I can navigate tech because an older person would not be able to go through this process happily. The lockbox in front was odd and the reps didn't do much to help at all. Besides look at us and point. One did show us where the key was but to unlock it was on us to figure out where codes were. Just a weird experience that took way too long. Also, the receipt didn't make sense. Still not sure what I was charged for. Funny thing is, my father used to manage that location and we lived in the building at the time when it was required management live there, in the upstairs apartment. Long time ago.

EDRIS NThe individual who was completing the return was not inviting and respectful to my father and mother, one of which were an authorized driver on the vehicle. I was the name on the u-haul as it was my move being completed, and had asked my family members to contact me prior to paying so I could ensure I had enough funds on my card. Before they could even get a price, the man had just applied the transaction to my card and walked away from my parents without just informing them of what the charge was going to be, before they could even quickly ask what it was. I understand that we were responsible for pay either way, which wasn't the issue, but I wanted to have known what I was going to be charged. When they had called me after to let me know what he had charged my card (after telling me the situation that ensued), I could hear the gentleman being very disrespectful and rude towards my mother about whether I used card or cash at the pick-up location. While I appreciate the help from the pick-up facility tremendously, the customer service can be worked on from the drop-off location here in Utica.

ANGELO RThe trailer they hooked up came off within 5 minutes. I was shown a picture of the hookup at the store and it wasn’t what I experienced on the side of the road. I believe the photo they took was not from my trailer/truck hook up as the hooks were both hooked up on the same side when I got out to hook the trailer up again it wasn’t like that in the photo. The trailer coming off at 45 mph nearly caused a catastrophic accident.
ERIC RI have rented from Uhaul and other truck rental companies throughout my life without incident or issue. Yesterday i produced a 26’ truck to Uhaul in Lomond Place in Utica, NY. I asked the woman at the front desk to check in my return, examine the gas, blankets, cleanliness of the truck, and to verify that no damage to the truck was incurred during the brief time four days i rented the truck. The 20 year old diva st the desk told me to “run along” and, that i would receive an invoice by email. I told her i would be vs waiting. She looked at me and smiled like a deviant, entitled monster. A hour later I received an invoice from Zoe - and she really showed me who’s in charge of UHAUL - ZOE. Please - vacate this invoice and call me - i am a retired attorney. I am also an incapacitated adult who cannot be sued or even prosecuted. Sorry that Zoe’s bill was so inflated.

However I did see an improvement, so kudos. Just with the price i was paying for storage, I expected to have a clean facility at all times. Ben G | First Impressionsthe gate didnt work for months so that kinda sucked, still paid full price for half the security, which is why i left. also i think the water gutters that come down from the roof and run off the side of the buildings in between every few units leaked badly into my unit. nothing like actually damaged but everything that was in the front left corner of my unit (near the drain spout outside the unit) was soaked. it was just towels and clothes for me which can be easily washed but i worry for someone else that may have like nice wood furniture or important paper documents? the staff there is very friendly tho and renting vehicles for moving was always very easy and efficient.

They then did not set up automatic payment and sent a letter to the emergency contact that I was not paying my bill. I had no idea until I went to the unit and was told I had a past due bill. The facility is almost NEVER secured. Only twice did I ever have to use my access card. The roof leaked and caused boxes to get wet and moldy. I was never notified of any issues however the day we moved out they were repairing the roof. It caused moldy clothes and broken boxes because of the wetness that resulted in broken dishes. The staff said “awesome” and that was it. Absolutely the worst experience ever!

Louis C | Overall Experience1. The unit I rented had a rodent issue - when moving out of the unit there was rodent dung everywhere. We found multiple boxes which had holes chewed in them along with the items in the boxes. We also found dead rodent carcasses among our possessions. Finally there was an ant nest that was under one of the boxes that we disturbed and ants were everywhere - frankly it was all disgusting. 2. The unit leaked on to my possessions - very irritating. 3. The lock slide on the unit was very difficult to slide open and closed. 4. When we came to visit once there was a uhaul lock placed on our unit - we reported it to the office and they were not very courteous in correcting their mistake. 5. Once we visited when there was a fair amount of snow on the ground and their snow removal was inadequate - we had to climb over a snow pile at the garage door to get in the unit.

Our access code only worked twice and the card only works sometimes. I don’t like that once you are in there is no way out without the card. I get trying to monitor coming and going but it is scary to not be able to get out quickly as needed. Also, the card thinks we are checking in when we are checking out and vice versa. The machine to check you out the display is broken. We have a hard time driving out. We either have to go off the pavement to the grass or if you go the other way we have to do a several point turn to line up with the exit gate.

We've had a very stressful time having to move abruptly due to a delay in our house closing from Covid-19. Therefore we rented multiple trucks (4) and also 2 storage units. All - in - all we've spent A LOT of money at the location over the past 2 months. We dealt with Brian a couple of the times and he always had an attitude and was not friendly. One of the times - we had to get into the office (which was difficult due to work hours) and we popped in real quick 10 minutes before closing. We just had a simple question and Brian, legitamately yelled and was upset because they were about to close. He made us feel bad for stopping in and bothering him so close to close. We apologized for it being so close to 7pm, and his reply was an eyeroll while saying, "yeah whatever." We immediately rented a truck / trailer from another company and emptied our storage units. We will not be back - which is such a shame because we've got A LOT more moving to do over the next few months. Very disappointed.
