STEVEN PCustomer service people were very courteous and helpful.
MARK MMy unit was on the second floor, so to load in I had to take the elevator. This elevator was extremely, and I do mean extremely, sketchy. You had to pull down the door like that of a garage to close it, and push it back up to open, but due to it's heavy weight, my wife nearly got stuck in it because she could hardly lift it. On top of that, in order to go up and down, you had to manually operate a lever and stop it at the precise time, marked by an line on the wall. If you didn't get it exact, there would be a be a lip which made maneuvering the carts difficult. Also, my unit was on top of another unit, so we had to climb up a stair ladder to access it, which made loading and unloading such a hassle. I consider myself lucky with that unit, however, compared to other ones I saw, such as some literally in the stairwell! One of which was like an inch away from the top stair, meaning whoever had that unit would have to fight the railing to even get inside the unit. All my items were stored securely with no damage, so it did serve it's purpose.

I made reservations for an appliance dolly and they gave me a utility dolly instead so my movers had to move/ lift everything by hand. A lot of my things got damaged due to not having this dolly. This also caused them to be tired faster because I have very heavy furniture. My uhaul storage access card doesn't work. When I get to my storage unit there's a lock on it (they gave me the wrong storage unit) There's more but this sums it up What a day!

JOSEPH NPositives: Speedy checkout and nice customer service before leaving Negatives: 1. Mileage was charged incorrectly. I drove 14 miles and was charged for 29 miles. 2. The contract miles were listed 1000 higher than the vehicle actually was, resulting in a 40 minute phone call with Support on how to return it because the app would not accept an odometer reading of less than the original mileage listed. Do NOT shop here, try any of the other local locations even if it means driving a few extra miles. Unprofessional and just wants your money! Use at your own risk.

ANTHONY A | First ImpressionsGood Morning: first of all, my overall experience was very positive and I wouldn't hesitate to rent equipment a storage unit again. Having said that, I would add this: The 15' van I rented did not have a back up camera. I was very surprised by this and will be certain to ask that question before I ever rent again. It is hard to imagine how you could still be renting trucks without this very basic technology. One more thing, the young lady who was initially handling my check-out of the rental unit mis-understood my name (she was looking at the unit number I think) and inadvertently checked out someone else's account on my card. She provided a credit to correct this. I have a note in to AMEX to alert me if the charge is processed. Obviously ti shouldn't be. Thank you.

LILLIAN CYou need to be honest to the customer about using they credit 💳 card let them know they are responsible for the bill no matter what my daughter Dominique Penn need my credit card because she didn't have no money on her card and I did they had me to put down $100 she took it back on full clean they the U-Haul place took $334 and I still owe and paid $79 they told me they just had to verify my mom new me I was shocked without her knowing she just was the co signer I think that's not cool when she wasn't even there he lie to me about if you use this credit card we won't use it but they did after my card was declined because I didn't have the $83 on the card I never gave permission to take off this card $43 U-Haul took off a card I never new he had the number to use why not take it off the card I gave you permission to use off the $83 dollar card

I was given the wrong storage unit and had to call back to the office (1 block away) to get the right size reassigned. Cell phone access in the building is n/a and signal with Verizon is poor on the street. Please highlight that you will have to pull PAST the bays and PARK beside the building, then get out and manually swipe access at the door BEFORE you pull out and reverse AGAINST traffic into the loading bays. It was a challenge with a 20 ft truck. LOADING BAY DOORS are ON/AT the street. Bldg is clean but separate / across the street from the Uhaul office/truck return. Storage building is clean and well maintained but OLD and not square. Layout of units is maximized for # of units NOT for logical pathways from elevators to units. I had to twist through multiple turns inside to reach one of my units. One of my 2 units [They did not happen to have a 10 x 20 available, so I had 2 smaller units ] had a 30 x30 support column in the middle of my unit! It ended up not being a big deal but threw me at first. If I had it to do over again, I would choose a newer storage facility with ground access units in a straight layout that did NOT require using a freight elevator. Most of these issues will be much easier on a 2nd visit but were difficult after a long drive and coordinating logistics.

Seems misleading to me I went their at like 11 at night becuz i thought it was 24 hours to find out the following above. Make this information WAYYY LESS CONFUSING and maybe the rating would be better.

When purchasing the unit I selected yes to the insurance but after it flooded I was informed that I was never enrolled for the insurance. Dealing with the insurance agent was a nightmare. I’ve been doubled charged for the unit and had to wait days for the refund. I did not get reimbursed the amount I should have with the insurance claim. Even after paying for the unit, when I would go, my card to enter was always denied and I had to wait outside for assistance. Overall it was a horrible, unorganized, disaster to deal with as a customer. The lady manager at the Gilbert Ave location was the only person who was understanding, showed empathy, and helped me. I don’t remember her name but she deserves a raise!

I paid $160. I’m moving my stuff into storage because I’m going to be homeless. That’s a life changing amount of money to a lot of people, and I understand how deposits work. But that does not mean I can pay that much extra on a whim, it’s ridiculous that I didn’t know about any of this beforehand. They didn’t book my storage unit the first time I went in there, so I luckily made it before they closed. Instead of the facility I was quoted for maybe $80/month in the newer building, I got something that will cost me $115 and has some sort of chicken wire hanging on the ceiling? Moving can be one of the most stressful times in anyone’s life, and I know the employees don’t know me, but I would have appreciated anyone who was actively trying not to care about me just getting what I need.

There should be easier elevator access. I realize it’s a freight elevator, but very heavy and does not level so well when exiting, which makes it difficult to maneuver carts on and off of it. The lighting is good, but shuts off after some minutes. It’s not comfortable to have to walk back to the sensor area to activate the lights. Lastly, I thank management for any storage discounts. However, UHaul is very expensive compared to other storage facilities. Thank you.

They upgraded my storage unit size and I ended up receiving two separate units that were side-by-side. The facility itself was clean and it had been modernized. There were still some issues. The elevator wasn't moving at one point while we were unpacking on the third floor. We were often in darkness because the motion detection light would only stay on for 10 -15 minutes at a time. The storage unit map was very difficult to navigate. My biggest issue was w/ UHaul itself. I don't move everyday so I took a lot of merit in your recommendations and they weren't at all realistic. I moved out of a 700 SQ ft 1 BR and then selected a 15 FT truck and an 8' X 10' storage unit. The truck wasn't large enough to secure all of my things. I had plenty of things that didn't get on the truck and that caused me some pain. The 10' X 10' unit wasn't large enough to secure my things and create a useful order. Ideally, you need extra unused space so there's room to rearrange items and make adjustments and I wasn't able to do that. Infact, I had to rent out a second unit and that's not something that I wanted to do. It's time to update the guidelines and to train the staff on what to recommend to their customers.

Apparently a maintenance man left his stuff in there and they had no way to open it for us. After moving all of our stuff into one of the units they suggested we moved our things to 2 separate units down the hall. Luckily we were able to get that resolved and keep one of our current units but we had to talk to several people before we were able to. On one of our last trips moving in the elevator broke down between floors. No one from Uhaul was available so we had to call 911. The fire department had to pry open the doors and carry us and our stuff out. From there we had to carry all of our things up the stairs because we had no where to put them. When moving out, someone parallel parked a 26' truck in front of all 3 garage access doors. Their unit was apparently locked, but they wouldn't move or take any of their things out of the elevator which was just sitting still for over an hour. After asking them politely to move they yelled at us. Luckily a Uhaul employee made them leave, but it took us 2+ extra hours to move our stuff out. Our truck rental was fine, but the storage unit experience was terrible.

An hour later they found a unit with the kind of door advertised and on the first floor, but which still required the maze to get to. This is after a 7 hour haul, tired, expecting drive up storage. It wasn’t as advertised, and the only way I’d refer others is if this situation was made right by a significant financial discount.

The other elavators and unload areas were not working. The one unload area was in use and the individuals were unloading. Were pulling out their items from the truck and then packing them in bins., Sitting on folding chairs, NOT only blocking the only functioning elavator using the only unload area for the starage facility. We asked when they would be done. They stated they would need about 4 more hours. Went to front desk no help. Said we had to wait until they finish. Had hired help to move our items in and on the clock. Cancelled the storage unit and had to pay the moving help to drive to a new location. Fortunately we were able to find a new unit same day. Worse experience of my life using a storage facility. Would NEVER recommend this location. I am still watting for a refund of the first month we had to pay upfront.

Luckily, I didn't have anything too huge that wouldn't fit, but I feel bad for the poeple who couldn't fit their things in the elevator on the days that the big eleavtor wasn't working. Also, not being able to access it after 5pm was kind of inconvenient.

I had to pay a moving company 90 min to sit there and wait to move me. Never again! Your sign which says 24 hour access needs to be removed. False advertising. Your staff needs to be trained - poor customer service. Completely rude!

We had to keep the moving truck packed with all of our things an extra night as the facility we ended up renting was in a different location with different hours than we anticipated. Both of the freight elevators were out of order at our move in time, and not until halfway into the move, one of the elevators got up and running. The staff was helpful through these frustrations, and eventually we got into the storage space we needed.

We waited one hour for our turn at the elevator. The first unit we were assigned was to small so we had to switch units. This was our mistake due to ignorance of what we really needed. The staff was very accomdating. The next unit required a different elevator. There was no wait this time but it was not on the ground floor so the staff had to come out and lower it. They were were happy to do that for us. The unit we were assigned was already rented so we had to go back and get another unit. Once again, the staff was pleasnt andaccomodating. The third unit was available, dry and clean. So it worked out in the end. However what we thought would be a 30 minute unload and store turned into a 3 hour comedy of errors. The elevators were the biggest hassel. Through it the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Truck rental went smoothly until I showed up to my storage unit a half hr before close to get my things set up and was turned away because “I have to be there 45 minutes ahead” even though the website says after hrs access. I then was charged an extra day rental and extra miles for my truck. I started a dispute and was never contacted back, every time I called in the person I needed to speak to was “out of town”. Not happy with my service received.
