Site was being remodeled and was confusing where to find the counter, as we came in the back. When I got the counter We found the personnel very competently and professionally helping customers. When they got us the check in went very smoothly and we were quickly on our way.

I’ve used the location that’s being renovated for years, this was my first visit to your temporary store. The attendant was very rude to me because I parked in a non designated spot. When I returned the truck, the music was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk. Bad experience

Nathan, the General Manager needs customer service training. He has a nasty attitude which is reflected in his poor job performance. One recent Saturday morning, I went to pick up my U-HAUL truck. The store's system was down which was frustrating for the long line of customers. I witnessed Nathan talk poorly to his associate, Tim. I had questions about the payment process and Tim was pleasant however, Nathan could not be bothered. He rose his voice at me, snapped at me, was short with me and when I asked his name, he arrogantly told me he was the general manager. Nathan feels that he is untoucable because of his position which is sad. I have used UHAUL for several different reasons in different states and this was by far the worst experience I ever had. Nathan needs customer service training and UHAUL needs a new manager for their Gilbert Avenue location in Cincinnati.

After reading the poor reviews, I opted to book my reservation online to avoid dealing with bad customer service that people described at the Gilbert avenue location. Unfortunately I can’t say anything good about my personal experience either. When I picked up my truck the U-Haul employee changed my reservation from 24 hours to 12 hours. I didn’t notice it until I got home after their closing time. I called shortly after the store opened at 7 am and explained the error to the female who answered the phone. While she seemed understanding of the situation, I later found out she still charged me for an additional days use. When I returned the vehicle shortly before 7 pm, U-Haul employee Lawrence said the truck was supposed to be back by 7am so I was responsible for an additional $39.99. I attempted to explain the error and he was intimidating, rude, combative and he tried to bully me into accepting responsibility for their error. I explained that my original reservation was for 24 hours 7:30p-7:30a. He told me that it wasn’t and that’s why I called to change my arrangements (extend my contract) that morning. I corrected his allegation and firmly told him again that it was their error not mine. I was forced to produce an emailed reservation from U-Haul which reflected the correct 24 hour contract I agreed to. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at U-Haul and I will not be returning or referring anyone to the Gilbert avenue location. According to the reviews, Lawrence has several complaints. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to fall victim to his rude and aggressive behavior but I did.

The Gilbert Avenue U-Haul manager Nathan Smith was terrible! He gave me a pick up truck with damage to rear lock, the tailgate and very small crack in tail light. I did not notice the damage when walking around prior to accepting the truck it but took photos anyway. After I returned the truck they charged $150 damage (total was $600 but insurance deductible was $150.) When drove back to show my check out photos to Nathan Smith, refunded the $150 but was was extremely rude. Quote: "You should not say you will do something, then not do it (he meant click app to report damage prior to accepting truck) then expect something different" When I said they had erred by releasing a truck with damage without noting it, he agreed but continued to place the blame on me. I pointed out how blaming the customer was not a good approach. He said we are a big company, all over the country and you are just one person, we are not afraid of what you can do to us. I have never had a customer service encounter anything like this. Looking on yelp, there were several similar comments. One person reported that they had told them "we are like Walmart, people need us" Many other comments with this attitude. I think it might have been a scam. I know that if I had not taken time stamped photos, they would have left the charges in place. I will never use U-Haul if this is the MO.

The fellow got me unhooked quickly and I was out of the driveway. Location is not very big. It was a challenge moving around. It was tight. Fortunately for me I was the only person dropping a trailer off.

The Pick-up truck was great!! Everything else went horribly wrong. I've used Uhaul several times in the past and never had any problems until now. Next time let's get it right.
