This store is located in a very bad area. I was verbally assaulted in the parking lot by another customer. The store charged me 180 extra miles (I only went 34). Management spends their time hunting down supplies (only one pair of scissors in the store and no staples) instead of helping customers. Just all in all, a terrible terrible experience.

The U-Haul at this location is full of cheaters. They don't have any work ethics. I trusted the guy at the desk, but he cheated me with mile readings. After renting out a truck, I have already met two more customers who have also been cheated. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

When I arrived to return, it was a little after 7. The crew was finishing checking in another truck. I had a member as if I was checking in, I replied yes and he said he's be right with me. I waiting 10 minutes until I saw the place had been closed and same employee driving past me in his personal car. There was another customer with me who pointed it out to me they were closed, and was just as frustrated.

When I arrived the truck I had rented need a new battery. In the process of waiting for them to change battery another truck was returned. Do to poor communication they gave that truck to the people 2 reservations behind me. Then they lost the keys to the truck I was supposed to get. Ended up giving me a bigger truck which was fine but made everything more difficult like parking and navigating. My reservation was for 4:00pm didn't leave the Uhaul store till 4:55. But the employees were very very nice, just extremely disorganized.

This was the worst experience in customer service I have ever received. I waited 45 minutes to get helped with my reservation and did not get out the door for another 15 minutes after that. I was not offered any apologies or sympathies. Service was slow and incompetent and inconsiderate. I will never use this service again.

Online booking syatem is the worst system that I have experienced in my life. Every phone number in Cincinnati area goes to the same calling center and have huge waiting time. If I make a booking apart from Gilbert ave location. I will end up with getting more that 5 miles away location that I preferred. I don’t won't to pay extra gas and mileage fee for the location uhal assigned me. Ultimately I was end up with going to Gilbert location and make the reservation at the counter. I had to stop my all other work and walkin to the store to do the reservation. Could you please go back to your old reservation system which is more convenient to the customers who want to make online reservations?

"Post what you want. We're like Walmart. People need us." -- Gary Smith Jr., General Manager, U-Haul on Gilbert Ave. Waited in line for 15 minutes before helped. Dude couldn't find my key for about five minutes, then when some other customer threw him his keys and walk out, he proceeded to check him out for five minutes and then restart my paperwork. Finally got the van, 2 gallons short. CHECK YOUR FUEL BEFORE YOU LEAVE. Engine shut off on Columbia Parkway. Coasted to a stop at a very dangerous position. Engine turned on after a couple minutes, then shut off on the highway again, luckily coasted to a parking lot. Called roadside assistance. Waited on hold for 20 minutes. They wanted to send a tow truck from an hour away to pick me up, bring me to a uhaul an hour away, where I would get a 14' truck (the only thing available in the city). I said no thanks, and we agreed I would leave my keys in the van and get picked up by my friend. 2 days, 4 calls and two hours on the phone later I am told that my van hasn't been checked in, and I cannot get a refund. After I snap, they tell me that they do have my records, and that a manager should call me within 72 hours. Manager never calls. I walk into the shop, and explain to Mr. Smith Jr. what happened. Mr. Smith Jr. tells me he gave me a refund. I said I wanted a free van rental, or $50 that the website promises (when they do not have your van ready when requested). Mr. Smith Jr. said no, he couldn't do that. I asked why, and Mr. Smith Jr. said that's not how it works. I told Mr. Smith Jr. that I was going to post a very bad review on every website I could find, and it would probably hurt him more in business than the $50. Mr. Smith Jr. said he didn't care, to post what I want, because they're like Wal-Mart, and people have to use them.

Just make sure what ever truck a customer reserved is the truck they get when they come to get it. because that's the issue I had but they still have me a truck that I still benefited from so it was great!?? anyway thanks u haul!

We dropped off the truck the night before and left the keys in the drop box to make sure we would get it back before the 7:20am return the next day. They did not get the truck checked in until after 8am. the next day( not our fault). They charged us for an extra days rental because of that.
