The truck was very loud. It sounded like there was a hole in the muffler. The weather stripping around the windshield was not secure. It "flapped" the whole trip.

Andrea DI booked a reservation at one location less than a mile from the condo that I was moving out from. On the day of pick up I was sent to a second location 10 miles away from the 1st location. When I got to the second location they tried to send me to a 3rd location that was 15 miles away from the 2nd location to pick up the one-way rental. They said they couldn't guarantee the 3rd location would have a one way either. That's ridiculous. After going around and around, the 2nd location booked a new reservation to return the truck to the 2nd location which made me dive a 50 mile round trip and find a ride back to my new house from the 2nd location. If one ways are not really available, they should not be offered for online booking.
CHRISTOPHER OThe computer was down and they had to do things manually. That took longer. Once I got outside, I ended up finding my own trailer and hooking it up before the help could get to me.

When I picked up the trailer, personnel were strict about the return time that if I returned 1 hour late, I would be charged an additional day. As a result, I had to change plans. The truck rental company (not U-Haul) was very accomodating and waived the 1 hour I was late to return. This represents customer service and not the objective of charging customers every possible penny. I rented a pickup from another company because the rates for U-Haul were simply unreasonable; $0.29 per mile vs. $1.29 per mile from U-Haul. Money grab for inferior equipment.

HENRY EThe first AutoTransport I was given had a problem with the hydraulic brakes. When I braked for traffic it felt like it was hitting my truck with a large sledge hammer. I returned to the location and they were telling me there was nothing wrong. After I insisted they give me a different one. I took a the manager for a ride and showed him what was happening. They gave me a different one. It was fine.
ANTHONY MTruck wasnt available at original location. Had to drive across town to get to my truck. When I got to the location they didnt even stage my truck. They just pointed to the back parking lot and said “its back there”. When I got to my location to load, I discovered the floor dollies were not included in the truck. So my move was that much harder. Then they charged me $160 for not returning the dollies they didnt give me. I’ve invested almost 4 hours trying to resolve this and am still not refunded. What the fuck kind of way is that to do business???
NICHOLAS TPoor customer service, staff were not polite and slow moving. Long wait for help because the lobby was full of disgruntled customers. When I got the counter, they keys were missing for reserved van. Manager was needed for spare but were also slow and not polite. Lobby messy with moving boxes.

ROBERT YI picked up in the morning and there is only 1 person at desk. 4 people waiting to be serviced. Then when I go to truck no one is there so I have to wait 20 minutes or more before I can leave. When I return truck in evening there is 3 people at desk but 2 of 3 are lazy and just sit there. You need to hire efficient employees that want to work and realize customer needs process to be timely.

CAROLINE C | Overall ExperienceThe auto transport i rented does not play well with my 2018 CivicType R. I damaged my car loading it. The ramp have steep a departure angle for a car a low front valance. I did use a product know as Race Ramps to make the angle appropriate. However when I drove the car fully on the trailer , the underside of the valance/ spitter rubbed on the tire stop and damaged it.It should be noted that the car is completely stock. In addition the tie-down ratchets are difficult to release as there is not enough clearance under the valance to straighten handle to release the latching mechanism. I hope that I can get to use your new Toy Hauler trailer next time, Feel free to call me if you want further information. 414 six8833six0

If something unfortunate would have happened, the liability would have been off the charts given the condition of the brakes. Truck should be serviced. Can’t help thinking that because it was a state to state trip, things got overlooked or were ignored. Not sure whether future trips will include U-Haul services.

RYAN DThis is a repeat issue of 8/28/2025. I previously contacted customer service, the manager and staff and was assured communication and operations issues would be resolved. On 9/8/2025 I reported for pick up, staff was available but on cell phones, told me could not find reservation, attempted to modify and add-on towsafe (which I declined), and was sent to lot. After 20 minutes, no one showing up to connect the trailer, I called the store and was informed "staff forgot". When staff arrived and connected the trailer, it was 30 minutes. After getting hitched to trailer, told I was "good to go", I arrived at my location and discovered the trailer door was left open. Both customer safety and time were compromised.

I was told this is because it is all based on when customers move in and move out of the rented units, thankfully Michael the general manager was able to find me a unit otherwise I would’ve been in a tough spot. I don’t necessarily put this on the location because it’s kind of out of their hands when the website is allowing customers to reserve things that they may or may not have available. I spoke with the staff and they said this is a common occurrence. Sounds like someone higher up needs to address this.

I confirmed this a week ahead of time and when I checked in there was only a unit with a regular door. It made me change plans after I already had the load on a truck to move in, there were no more units that size available, so I went to another storage company. That company only .3 miles away had bigger units, and cheaper storage. Thanks to terrible customer reps I ended up getting a better deal because I was originally going to rent 2 units from Uhaul. However I will say the woman working the business that day was very apologetic and it was not her who made the mistake. Thanks for helping me save money

The gas wasn’t a problem. Because, the gas was the same amount that was use.

I didn't receive any indication that I needed to be there within 15mins of my pick up time. I was stuck with a uhaul that was 6' shorter and caused me to make 2 trips to move! Which equated for more mileage! They never reimbursed me for that extra mileage! That same day, I went in to pick up the uhaul, I was upset about the cancelation. I know I wasn't disrespectful to the lady, however, her husband, the GM Jose, embarrassed me in front of a line of people by yelling at me and threatening me!! I would hope this company would know having a husband and wife work together at a location can cause this exact issue to happen when things don't go exactly right. This location has made several mistakes and never once took ownership of there mishandling of my storage unit and rental issue. They just blamed the system. When you are a GM of a location, you need to conduct yourself that way! Jose definitely failed at that and caused a scene for no reason! He is a poor example of a leader. No leader should have an outburst like he did!! Very unprofessional!!

Every time I called I was rerouted to an offsite customer service rep that would state they couldn't help me because they didn't have access to the accounts at a different location. Tried chatting online and was also told that only a rep at the exact location could help. Leaving messages didn't help either. I would get a voicemail with the general number to call back and no one would pick up again. Tried calling corporate and would sit on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time and then have the same experience. While the face to face employees were helpful, the experience I had moving was horrible with this company. I had to go between 3 locations to get a truck and storage facility and then the size that I ordered wasn't available even though I had paid for it online with a credit card already. Miscommunication from the company only created more issues with trying to relocate out of the area. I have driven over 200 miles extra to deal with issues from moving and using the storage facility. Horrible experience.

I needed this size and was not permitted to go bigger in size even though this was not my fault. Smaller didnt really work for what i needed.

When I got to the facility, I was told I'd need take a cart back-and-forth to fill the unit, which I'd never had happen before. I ended up having to rent a different kind of unit I could drive up to. I reiterated that I had furniture and boxes from a one-bedroom apartment. When I got to the unit, it was only big enough for a few boxes. I had to go back to the office to get a unit that was the size I requested.

Terry R | Overall ExperienceI feel that the prices are very high. The facility hours could be an extra hour. There is never enough staff always have to wait. I ran late four important reason and when I got to the facility I wanted to make sure that I could check out before the staff left. I think they should have oh way that they can access the key and let you be able to still use it since technically it is my last day until at least 10 or 11 because technically it still is my day instead I was locked out from being able to leave and the gentleman inside the desk was not helpful to my friend who went to tell him to let us out. Luckily there was a another employee that was outside other facility that was able to access and help us leave but we still had a couple big things to pick up and we had to leave it outside of the gate because of not being able to still have access. I don't think staff should have to be there to make sure that the unit is clean if I'm paying . They should be able to clean it out the next day that should be their job. We also rented a truck at one point and it is really misleading when they say $19 and some cents for a truck but by the time you include the miles and the hassle of bringing back the truck it was not a quick drop off there is a procedure and very time-consuming I feel that it is very expensive. I guess in a time of need and no one else has a truck a person has to be convinced that this was going to be an expensive rental and realize that they have to close their eyes about the expense of the truck. This is my opinion.
