Very poor customer attention. Will not visit this location again, since my experiences at others have been far more pleasing.

I was told by two employees that I could return the trailer to any location and that it did not matter what location was entered on the contract. This caused weeks of confusion, threat of tow and impoundment fees and many unpleasant phone calls.

MATTHEW GWe had a container in our driveway since October. In March we received an email telling us we needed to bring the container to the Hillsborough site for them To inspect. We told them it would be challenging with all our China and delicate things in it. After the agent’s insistance. Wen my husband arrived, all they did was add air in the tires. We told them we were almost ready to bring it back soon and if it could wait, but the individual on the phone was insistant. Needless to say, 30% of my China broke. We were very disappointed and even more so when my husband go there whom ever he talked to said that we did not have to come in with the trailer. We should have told the rep in the phone we would not bring the trailer until it was empty. Lessons learned.

BRIAN WYour laye fees are outrageous, I always payed my bill just sometimes my money didn't come when it was supposed to making my payment late... The last bill i paid, my locker fee was $114 With late charges i ended up paying $184. This is way out of line, of course people don't want to lose their belongings so they pay the fee! The better Business bureau needs to step in and regulate what you people charge for late fees. I have since then moved my stuff out of your facility and have no intentions of renting from you people again...

They gave me a key and didn’t tell me where truck would be and had to finally ask someone outside . I even had to ask what I needed to do when delivering after hours. I have rented about 3 uhuals in the past 2 years and this was the worst experience ever ! Will never be back to this location

I've moved 40 times in 41 years and I've used this company for a majority of them and the truck rental online was a nightmare at this store, the lock box wouldn't open had to call customer service to have the agent coach us through the whole process of unlocking a lock box. It was ridiculous. Definitely will not be back.

SHALIEK BI didnt like how the guy that removed the tow dolly asked if me and my daughter (2 women)would be removing the dolly. That was lazy on his part. I paid over $1500 for that uhaul and tow dolly. The least he could do was remove the tow dolly. He had a bad attitude.

Justin HOverall this is an excellent Uhaul center. Front desk and yard workers are friendly, efficient and customer oriented. The only suggestion would be to have more than one clerk/customer service representative. I was third back and had to wait some time. The center is well stocked with moving supplies and truck/trailer rentals. The trailer I rented was clean and in great condition. I will use this center again when I need to move more property.

NINO BI had originally booked a reservation for 9am in Tropicana field. I get there and they tell me the truck isn’t available and to call back at noon. I call back and noon and they said to call back at 1pm. 1pm comes around and I call and they say the truck will not be there today and that they will find another location that has it. They send us to another location and as soon as we pull up they say that truck is in the shop. We are then sent to Tampa to pick up the truck and thank god they had it. We ended up getting the truck at 3pm

ROBERT SWe initially rented a 10' box truck, but found out it didn't have an opening to insert your own hitch(our trailer uses a bigger ball) so we went back in. They simply cancelled the previous contract and completed new one for 15' box truck. They didn't jack up the price for the holidays(December 23rd).

mike r | Overall ExperienceWell the app didn't seem to give me the correct check-in instructions for my Van. But the associate assisted with it. I also ordered a utility dolly with the van, I assumed since I selected mobile check-in that it would have been in the van or given to me when I went in to get the keys. I didn't think about it at the time I was picking up as there were so many steps to do in the app, I forgot. Luckily they didn't charge me for it when I brought it up when I brought the van back.

The steering was very loose which made it difficult to maintain safely on my long journey. I have had many other rentals in the past with a varying level of condition. I would suggest keeping the one way fleet in good working order.

I called again in the middle of the day and reached you. Both my storage units are still not showing on my app for me to manage and one of mine still has a red tag preventing me from accessing even though I paid the amount due with you - I will check again tomorrow

Jose G | First ImpressionsIt was a bit of a mixed bag. Some reps were great like Makala at the Tampa Waters Ave location that booked my storage. When I first called I was bounced around, transfered a few times by folks that seemed uninterested. When I got to the location for my storage, I was almost turned away. They claimed I didnt have a reservation and they didnt have any storage left. I was about to leave but I pulled up my confirmation and showed it to the manager and he said "Oh, you are already moved in" in the system. Makala was right to move me in, that ensured it was there. But the manager was about to watch me leave, while having my storage showing already moved in. When I asked about a reservation, he should have checked both status, reserved vs moved in. If it is a practice to move people in when they call over the phone to book a storage, he should have checked both status before potentially walking out. After we cleared that up, I went to check the unit but the card didnt work. At this location there are 3 check in terminals and you have to use one specific terminal to log in and then scan the card again to enter. Well I did not do it right the first time so I had to go back and he explained it again. I got it the second time, but I couldnt help but thinking, why not just escort me back there and show me the unit? And let me inspect it before booking and show me how to enter the building? He could have helped more. It was a day before a major hurricane was coming through, it was slow half the city was evacuating. The busiest guy was the propane operator. I got the impression that they would rather customers are not around so the can hang out and talk rather than helping customers. They were nice and freindly, but working in customer service over 30 years, I can tell when someone is attentive and goes above and beyond vs quick to get you out the door so they can do something else. The manager after the rocky start and the directions to log in vs walking me through it, was nice and helpful overall. The storage unit was perfect. I really appreiciate the free lock. Its smart we used to sell them or have the customer use there own, that was a nice change vs how we did it when I worked for Uhaul in the early 2000s. The storage area was clean and temprature in the Cc was up to par. Elevator and carts available, it was helpful being by myself moving things in. I was happy with the storage. Thanks!

There isn't enough room here to summarize all the problems I've experienced with u-haul, their staff, their policies, their inept staff, their terrible attitude towards people when the problem is on their end/due to errors, mistakes or shortcomings on their part. Glitches and mistakes "don't blame us, it's corporate's fault" Being treated as threatening by simply expressing frustration and unhappiness that there are so many problems. Going to my emergency contact adding late fees to an account with $0.00 balance and threatening leins. Having Mike Reyes, the General Manager tell me it doesn't matter what corporate says or what is discovered after reviewing past recorded phone calls because nothing is going to change. The list goes on and on. The most egregious act was that after attempting to go in person to have a question cleared up about my most recent bill and once again having problems, Mike Reyes slipped a 2nd and FINAL notice of termination of my contract into my account without sending it to me at all. I never received a first notification.. there wasn't a first notification in my account file either that I was ever informed of. The only reason I found out about this 2nd and final notice was because I called customer service for help after I left U-Haul of west tampa's office and the woman on the phone informed me of the notification and she then sent it to my email. I looked everywhere including spam. Mike Reyes never sent that notice to me and it's far from the first time I didn't receive correspondence from the location I had my belongings stored. That man tried to slip that notification in my account because the 2nd and final notification only allows the customer 72 hours to contact them to make arrangements to vacate or else you're screwed. Mike Reyes, the general manager at u-haul of west tampa, thought I wouldn't find out about the notification until it was too late. There is no way I could've known without contacting customer service because he did not send me that notification by any means. Thanks to the way management carries itself this location is foul, misleading, inept, predatory and vindictive. Goodbye U-Haul.

When I arrived with a uhaul truck they had in fact not removed the lock there for I could not access my own personal lock to get into my storage. I called 5 hours prior. Luckily there was someone on sit an hour after their closing hours who took it off. You have to call this facility over 4-5 times and potentially will be answered. I personally would not rent at this facility again but hopefully other people have better experiences than I did.

However, after the first day we used it at 6pm we went back the next day at 8pm and were locked out of the building completely. It was a Sunday so we tried again Monday only to be locked out again. What no one told us is the the building we were in was only accessible from 7am-7pm which doesn’t work with our schedule at all. This wasn’t anywhere on the website or in the contract for rental. I called and they confirmed (rudely) the 7am-7pm time frame for only that building. I was told when we took our lock off we would get a refund since it had only been 3 days of use. We took our lock the next morning and received an email saying we owed $0.00 but no refunded amount was given. Terrible experience all around and I now have to pay another facility for this month while also having paid for this unusable space.

Teena W | Overall ExperienceMy issue is not with this location. The staff here were very friendly and helpful and the storage unit was clean. The issue is when I first called Uhaul they issued me the wrong storage unit twice and it involved me driving out of my way. Also the uhaul I was issued from the St Pete location was very dirty. I was such in a rush to load my personal belongings that when I off loaded them into storage they were very dirty and dusty. Also the dolley handle in the back of the uhaul was damaged. On the side wall of the back of the uhaul there were brownish bloodish stains. So disgusting. Throughout this whole ordeal I constantly called customer service to complain but was put on extremely long holds and was even told we would be contacted back within 72 hours from a manager. That has yet to happen.

The Gandy Location (Tampa) helped me out with a truck not the same size but I could work with it.

This is very wrong to the consumers!

I asked for a larger cube and they accommodated me with a 5x10 cube. When I arrived to move in, I explained to the check in peeps in what transpired. They all acted stupid and denied having a 5x10 cube available (even though I I knew the number of the cube I was promised and it happened to be empty- and a 5x10...) I called the same number hoping to get the same guy, but got a lady. She told me there was no way for the previous guy to know what cubes were open. So- I figure the guy on the phone had a magical computer which gave him a special power to see available cubes. Or- I have ESP and hallucinated the whole experience to know what cube number was available and that it was a 5x10. Either way, Uhaul would not honor the promise or compromise with me on a larger cube. The girl on the phone actually asked if there was any thing 'else' she could help me with. She thinks she helped me???(Clearly she's in MENSA) In summary, my opinion is that if my dog smoked Crystal Meth, he would still be smarter and more organized than these people at this location. Since my stuff wouldn't fit in their aquarium-sized 5x5 unit, I had find other arrangements to store my stuff. Bravo people! Bravo...

When I arrive to pick up the truck and claim my unit I was told I had until 5 to access my unit that day because I could only access it during staffed hours. I went back home and loaded up the truck myself and then drove back over to the location to unload into my unit. I arrive around 4:46 and couldn’t find my unit so I went to the front door to ask for help and the door was locked before 5. I went around the back to see if I could find it and I saw a couple of employees that helped me in the right direction but for some reason wouldn’t tell me that I couldn’t use it because they were are leaving early. So I ended up calling the store manger 4 times because his number was a on a board and didn’t answer or even call me back after a voicemail. So I needed to bring the truck back to my house UNLOAD all my stuff myself and wait until the next day to then again RELOAD all my stuff. When I dropped off the truck the guy I spoke with accommodated me but I wanted to make you aware of the situation.

Inside building 3, there is a strong order of urine!
