I brought in a twenty six foot truck to unload and was told to back up to a loading ramp with about 34 feet of room to maneuver in. They had trucks to rent stowed there pinching most of your movability. My wife helped me back into the ramp, but l notice once l got out of truck to view the dock it would be highly risky to unload. The loading dock was built with no consideration of the height of truck. The dock is too high deploy the truck loading ramp. Also, there was forklift guards bolted into edge of the dock that were unmoveable. This left a two wide area that a person had to step down and around to offload boxes, dressers, and other furniture. Carts provided by U-haul could only roll up two feet away from the truck. A single person had a great disadvantage trying to load a heavy box standing two feet with a cart that didn't have wheel locks to keep it from moving. My hand truck couldn't roll onto the back of truck to move things easy and without difficulty. Every piece l put on the truck had to be hand loading across a two foot trip hazard and handed to someone else to put onto a cart. If an OSHA official saw this loading dock he would shut it down and very possible fine U-haul for designing such a faulty dock. It took nearly three times as long to offload the truck as to load it. I'm going to hate when l come back to move my stuff out! It's going to take me at least three days to recover from such an awful experience!

Upon arrival I found the access to the trailer I was renting to be blocked and was forced to back out and drive out against a "one way" arrow marked road. Not a big deal but it appears the methods used for pick up and return of your units could be better planned and organized.

OK--so this was the THIRD location we were sent to to get everything we rented. The whole experience was a NIGHTMARE. We made our reservations at the Ferndale, WA Uhaul on Barrett. We were assured that everything was great. Nope. After more than 20 emails and at least a dozen texts, we had to pick up our truck at the Uhaul on LaBounty, which is literally across the freeway. But when we got there, we were told that they didn't have all the blankets and dollies that we ordered, so we were sent to the Barrett location. They had the blankets, but nowhere in the area had the furniture dollies--even though we had a reservation--so we had to go to Bellingham, completely the opposite direction of the house we were moving, to BUY furniture dollies, because y'all had them for SALE, but not for rent. When we needed a second truck, same fiasco. We got the truck at the Barrett location, but were sent to LaBounty for a car trailer, and when they didn't have one, once again had to go to Bellingham to rent. So I don't really care that the Bellingham location was friendly--it wasn't where we made our reservations or expected to get our gear and it's COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE that we were sent all over TWO towns to get what we needed.

The entire team seemed upbeat and friendly. They had a can do attitude. The man who rented me the unit went out of his way to help me during a very stressful time. And the young woman assisting customers in the parking lot employed out of the box thinking to solve my problem parking an RV needed to unload my locker.

My only complaint, which isn’t significant, is the facility entrance road. It’s usually restricted by excess U-Haul inventory and/or various vehicles parked on both sides of the lane. This should be without impedance to arriving returns and customer access to the facility.

The trailer was a 5x11 I got two loads of compost. The trip was uneventful no problems with the trailer whatsoever. But the best part was at check out. I drove in to your lot where a nice polite young man was finishing up with a customer then waved me around and disconnected my truck finished my payment. Great job thank you and your team. I also noticed as I was leaving your man was checking the tire pressure so it would be ready for the next customer nice touch. Very nice experience Pat.

Fire whoever made your "App" and delete it from the app stores. Use a webpage instead of an "App" or just tell people to call support who were very polite and helpful every time I reached out. The app never helped me, only added confusion, and the result is I used more of your phone-based support staff time.

The service I received from all employees was excellent. The quick repair on the trailer light that was needed before departure was identified and resolved very quickly. Every material purchase was easy. Setting up my rental and the flexibility of the team as I needed to adjust my pickup dates and times was superb. I cannot say enough about how well I was treated and how wonderful the team was to work with.

I was called 3 different times asking where I was and when I would be back when I had already told them. I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again because of these rude aholes calling me repeatedly. I’ll buy a tow dolly before I rent from U-Haul again. I’ll rent from Penske or local stores but never U-Haul again. You lost me and my family as customers.

Might I suggest that your vehicles come with a full tank of gas. I received a vehicle with a 1/4 tank of gas. Because of this, I immediately had to get gas at a station to reach my destination. This was very inconvenient and confusing as to not knowing how much gas to put into the vehicle since I've never driven it and could not access the MPG. The parking offered for the actual vehicle I drove there was subpar. Instead of using the actual facilities parking lot, and what I would assume would safer to leave my vehicle for a period of time. I was told parking was across the street, where the concrete dropped a good 1/2 foot into dirt path where there were huge pot holes and tree roots sticking out that my car had to grind over. So might I also suggest possibly switching where the Uhaul is currently parked for customers vehicles or refurbishing and fixing up the parking area if you do not have adequate parking . Not cool. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I think the price also sucked. I won't be using uHaul again, there are other options that don't treat you like crap and threaten to charge you extra 20 times.

6” x 12’ cargo trailer had seen some better days - cosmetic wear and tear, UHaul branding faded/worn, etc. However, it towed well and was fully functional. I gave a rating of excellent as your employees were top notch at pick-up and return. Dawson was polite, professional, and did a great job getting the trailer ready to tow, even though the conditions were icy and cold! At drop off, both employees worked diligently to get me out the door. Kudos!

The trailer checked out on site but as soon as I pulled out the turn signal on one side stopped working. Got out checked the wiring and the plugs. Discovered where the wiring was taped together was the weak link. I had t o zip tie the wires to the trailer handle in 2 spots so the wires would not move.

Our truck rental experience began terribly. I'll never do the online rental again. It took a long time, standing out in the cold, to try to check out the truck online- but the lock holding the key wouldn't open, even though we put in the correct code. Then we entered autocall hell and couldn't talk with a real person. We had an expensive crew waiting to help us load the truck - it was extremely stressful. I called the branch on Meridian in Bellingham and talked with Miles. He set it up so that when we showed up at that branch everything was ready and waiting. He transferred our rental contract to his branch so there was no paperwork, the truck was waiting. I walked in and was handed the contract and key. He also gave us a discount for the hassle. YAY MILES!!!! and thank you!

We were very impressed with the knowledge and courteous awesome staff at the UHaul business and with the movers who helped us move our belongings into our UHaul storage unit. They were friendly and knowledgeable and went the extra mile to make our move into the storage unit a reality. The movers helped us unload the many boxes into our storage unit in less than half an hour. They took great care to ensure that our boxes were put into the unit in a safe and well organized manner. They did the entire job with great precision and professionalism. They made a hard job look easy and left us feeling totally happy. We recommend them highly and will use them again soon n the future! for simple questions, it was a drag to not be able to reach the local store there without going through the national dispatch center. also, the check-out process was a bit odd and I had to call in nearly two week later to make sure it was done before being charged for an extra month. on the other hand, when there was a potential water issue, you were excellent at getting in touch to make sure I was aware of the situation and to suggest I inspect my unit to make sure it wasn't affecting me.

My experience with the Bellingham U-Haul facility on Meridian was excellent they had an issue with the elevators and couldn't give me a bigger storage unit but they offset at me for a smaller one by blessing me with no fee for the first month and I paid late fee twice cuz I'm a traveling businessman but yeah you know I had all of my stuff out of there by October when am I talking about October today is June May so yeah I had all of my stuff out by April 10th and yeah my experience was good and I would definitely recommend on my local community U-Haul to all small businesses or anyone in the welcome Skagit area

The overall process was very easy and simple. I am pleased with the process overall, however it was a bit inconvenient checking in. I had spoken to a u-haul representative on the phone and was told that I was completely ready for check-in and did not need to go inside to speak with anyone. When I got there, before I realized that information was incorrect, I waited for 30 minutes for my help unloading. I then had to wait in line to check into my unit. It was simple, but that one step made it more challenging - because I was specifically told that I would not have to do so. I would've gone right inside and checked in without waiting for my unloaders to get there. We had already begun unloading when I found out.

No unit available-made reservations in February. Spent 2 hours on Monday for them to find me a unit. Wednesday, found out pod in Ferdale could not be delivered which was not what I was told. Drove to Bellingham to find out that there was no record at all of my reservation. Even though it was confirmed 1 hour earlier. 2 staff members, different from Mondays staff. It turned out they were searching at a different location. It was a nightmare.

Facility is clean and well maintained. I believe however that if a renter has maintained their payments and then moves out mid month the rent should be pro-rated for however long was left on the last month - more so if they have moved out mid billing cycle.

Despite the water damage due to pipe rupture during the freeze the staff remained friendly, patient and efficient. When I discovered that my 2nd floor had some water infiltration the manager offered replacement boxes. Unfortunately, the elevator is still out and my unit is on the second floor. I rented a second unit on the first floor because I didn't want to carry boxes of books and furniture up the stairs.

It seems they should have been aware of the cracks in the floor which went all the way to the basement. The loading deck area could be cleaner. We started renting units 3 years ago as we were getting ready to make a move from Federal Way to Ferndale. We were organized and could unpack the units at our leisure knowing they were safe and secure. We continued to rent while storing baby items and seasonal items until we no longer needed the extra storage. We also rented several u-haul trucks and it was easy and convienent. We love U-Haul! and the employees we dealt with at the different facilities were all awesome!

The parking to load and unload is really bad at this location. With the exception of this last weekend, The same cars are parked at the loading dock every time I’ve been there. It appears that employees may be parking there making it impossible to use the loading dock. This site needs more parking for staff so that patrons are able to use the loading dock. The sliding doors have been out of service for at least a full week. There is a plastic soda bottle that is used as the ashtray for smokers that has been on the loading dock where you check in and out. It’s pretty gross. Inside in front of the elevator where you can leave item for others is being used as a trash area. Garbage is visible piling up. This is the second time I’ve stored items at this location. It will likely be the last due to the above issues.

Is the parking monitored for people who are parking there but not accessing the storage units? When I make the big move with hired help I worry that we will have to wait for parking to open up.

It seems a bit strange to me that the free month is dependent upon there being more than one storage space available in the size needed (I rented a 20’ truck, so a 5’ X 10’ wouldn’t have worked for me). I guess I get it, but after dropping over $1400 on the truck and trailer rental, I was looking forward to that free month. Oh well, I’ll just have to remember that the next time I need to rent equipment somewhere.

We found that the unit was adequate for our needs. The limited parking could have been problematic but we didn't have an issue. Also trying to reach someone on the phone was a bit of a issue but once we did our problems or questions were quickly taken care of.

Rented a smaller unit ( 5x10 ) And it was a great experience! All the service staff was helpful. Especially the manager. We went in on 3/25 I plan on using my unit long term ( for years ) And she made sure I got a bottom floor unit!😄

With regards to utilizing the storage here at UHaul Bellingham, I had a fantastic experience. It was my first time using a storage unit. From the first day, the person at the desk was kind enough to walk me to my unit. The staff was always so warm and helpful whenever I had questions about their services or hours. The prices were great, definitely the most affordable place around to get all your packing supplies. Though the location can sometimes bring unwanted guests, I never doubted the security of the storage facility. I also really appreciated that they offer an area to leave items you’d like to donate as your cleaning. Overall, the units were clean. I wish the storage units themselves had a light in them, but the hallway lighting was bright and sufficient to see inside the unit. Staff was great and location was great and easily accessible. I would definitely rent a unit here again!

I never once had a complaint with this facility or costs… everything was as good as I could reasonably expect. I hate having to pay money to store things but can’t complain about this location, especially as my last storage experience resulted in the jerks selling my storage locker for Penny’s of its value and then reporting me to collections simply because the lazy clerk typed a K in my email instead of J, resulting in my auto payment never going through and they never bothered to call me so I lost everything. Wish I had gone here to begin with. Never thought storing stuff could be so complicated or difficult!

For some reason, our unit would always set off the alarm when we would unlatch it. This happened every time. I brought up the issue with staff and the manager on duty. The manager said he’d take care of it, but then there was no follow up. The issue continued.

Staff are friendly and helpful although this location is extremely busy! It is a very hard/busy location to get stuff in and out of storage. We did have mice droppings on our stuff when we moved out of the unit. Overall experience was good.

The guy that assisted me in setting my storage rental was friendly and helpful…. Everyone else seem to have a clue what they are doing. I shouldn’t be put on hold for 15 minutes for someone to look up my account “that there is no record of” when I literally signed up and paid for the day prior.

When I initially rented the unit on June 18th the experience was good and when I went into pay my monthly bill it was ok as well. Then came the day we were moving out September 12th. My niece and great niece drove up from Puyallup to get all the the items in the storage unit#2527. They rented a moving truck from your facility. They drove it out to my place in Ferndale to pick up some items that I had to give them. It wasn’t until we went back to your facility that we found out your elevator was not working. I’m 67 and a friend of mine, the same age as well as my to nieces were all the help we had. I went to the office and asked for help. The person behind the desk, I believe her name was Julz had no idea the elevator was broke down but there was another person a man, that said to Julz that it was broke the day before as well. Julz tried calling a supervisor and perhaps you as well. It was painfully obvious know one from your company deemed it important enough to react to her call. My wife also asked for help moving things and the man said they are not allowed to help move things. We struggled and got everything except 6 dining room chairs moved down the stairwell. Julz did the best she could but your team was completely overwhelmed. My Niece, Julie Casiano rented from you and I think you company owes her some money back as nothing about the elevator was mentioned upon renting the truck although in fairness, you crew likely didn’t know we were moving things out from your facility that day. Tomorrow morning I’ll be contacting your customer service dept and complain to them. It’s really unfortunate this happened the way it did but point blank, it did happen and I think it needs to be addressed and corrected by either you or upper management. It’s highly unlikely I will use your facility again and I’m hoping know one else has to be put through this. I wish I could have written a positive feed back comment but I can’t.

The business is very busy and the building is poorly designed with so much traffic coming in and out while trying to get stuff out of storage.

Parking and trying to get to storage was a challenge. We work during weekdays and only could come on Saturday or Sunday and could not back up to loading ramp. We even got stuck one time between others and trucks coming into lot. Can’t the drive up entrance be on the other side near the street and storage on opposing side ? Just feedback here only. Overall everything was good just trying to get into lot was a nightmare.

I had the unit for 8 years, every year the price went up! I would get threatening emails if I was a few days late! When I came to pick up my stuff, I had lost the key and needed them to remove the lock, I was told I would have to wait for at least an hour and a half before anyone could remove the lock. This was Sunday, at 10:30, the male that had been there before opening, went up to remove the lock, it took all of 5 minutes to complete the task! I was charged $50.00 to wait almost 2 hours and it could have been done at 9:00 am! I can not in good conscience recommend your facility or services to anyone!

Dan Ackman was horribly unhelpful and made our moving experience extremely stressful. After scheduling months in advanced and being told multiple times we would be able to pack our ubox at the Bellingham facility we were told two days before that we were packing our box at Ferndale. We specifically chose to have a storage unit at Bellingham so that we could pack our box there directly from the unit. When we expressed our concerns to Dan he said that we would be able to pack there on Friday (7/16) as long as we were done by 5. He said he would bring the box himself at 8:00am and bring it to the Ferndale facility that night. We were extremely grateful as this saved us time and would make moving much easier. That morning we showed up and the box wasn't there and there was no sign of Dan. We talked to an employee who informed us that they didn't even know what time he was going to be there. Dan never showed an we were left scrambling for a way to pack our box. We called the Ferndale facility and they were not even aware that Dan had made arrangements to get our box for us. Dan had lied to our faces to get us to leave and left us with no way to get our box packed. Because of this experience I do not feel comfortable using u-haul ever again. The only good part of this entire experience was the lovely people at the Ferndale facility who helped us get everything in order when the Bellingham facility left us hanging.

I met the general manager and he was great and can see why she is an extension of his leadership. She absolutely knows Uhaul, the services and navigation of the computer. Super skilled in time management, facilitation and captures her customers. My son and I were exhausted driving from WY to Bellingham WA, and she made the last stop very easy. If I owned a company I would steal her away. Service driven, dedicated and exceptional customer service!!! Using Uhaul for all my rack installations and other moves in theBellingham area. Great agent and service!!!!

The storage price went from about $50 to $75 in about 5 years. Too much for the items I had in storage. And I was recently charged a $20 dollar late charge. I simply forgot to make the payment. A reminder would would have been more appropriate than a $20 late charge.

Great service we were able to check in a day earlier than our reservation date. Originally we had a reservation for a 10x10 at the Ferndale,WA location but upon arrival we found out they did not have any available so luckily the near by Bellingham location did and we were able to get in right away they even took the truck and trailer for us.
