Myron SI had a stressful two-day roundtrip to clean out estate property from a local storage unit 350 miles from home. I had a new trailer hitch but had never used it. The Springfield Glenwood location was extremely convenient, right on my way into town. The very well laid-out site had plenty of inventory, including the covered trailer I needed. Reserving a trailer for pickup the next morning took less than five minutes. Completing the rental and driving away with the trailer took less than a half hour. I needed a drawbar but had brought a ball from my old, smaller hitch receiver. The mechanic noted that my ball wouldn't fit the new drawbar, so the rental agent gave me a new ball without charge. The two associates who rigged the trailer could not have been nicer or more efficient. Very pleasant and friendly staff, and the trailer towed like a dream. Definitely reduced the stress of a difficult trip. First-rate experience all around! Thank you!

Maryjdol G | Overall ExperienceThe truck needed an alignment, which effects the fuel efficiency, the windshield wipers were smearing when using them, the driver-side low beam headlight and passenger side low beam head light were not aligned correctly. Plus the rates are extremely expensive.

CHRISTINE RThere was 4 trucks trying to return after 5pm (including me) on a Sunday. The parking was minimal and without help from employees we were all confused on where to leave the vehicles at that point? Maybe stay open longer on Sunday?

DALTON TMake the drivers seat easy to move forward or back! My truck was so hard to drive until I found someone strong enough to move it forward. Also electric windows plz, those roll down ones suck! Also a backup camera would have been nice. Truck did its job but dang, it was a dinosaur lol.
SHANNON TAdvised upon drop off there was a substantial leak as it had rained and that boxes were very wet. I stated it should be fixed before rented out again. I was told to call the 800 number and that" Trucks are water resistant not water proof" What does that even mean?? Less than impressed to say the least. Hopefully that truck will get fixed before the next rental so no other customer needs to experience issues. Moving is stressful enough.

MARTINA REntirely too much equipment staged everywhere, making navigating around the yard dangerous and ripe for an automobile accident. Nice to have the excess equipment when it is needed, but the nieborhood unit that I originally made a reservation at, did not have the proper trailer, and I had to drive 18 miles to pick up. Why can't Uhaul distribute more equipment to the small guys, instead of stacking so much at the official center? The service personnel were awesome, but I would avoid this location in the future.

I had to get rid of major appliances at the last minute (no time to sell) just to make the transition. Additionally, the smaller unit cost more per month. I believe this could have been prevented since I called to confirm my rental before making the trip. I could have sought services elsewhere that better met my needs. This was sketchy.

SHANNON RThe facility and staff were very good, but the facility has a serious "Rodent problem" we did not have any food inside our storage unit. My wife went to get some items from our unit and a Rat jumped out of one of our boxes, when closing out the unit we found many of our belongings nod and chewed. The rats we're using the chewed material to make their nest, we also found a dead rat in one of the nests that was desiccated from rat poison. If I would have known about the rap problem that they had there I would not have ever rented the unit nor would I ever recommend this storage facility. And for this reason I would give this facility a one-star rating!
ALEX A | Overall ExperienceI've had some less-than-ideal experiences at this location, but this particular rental went very smoothly with staff at the location. Attempts to use the app to check out my vehicle were very problematic, so that is really not a good experience at all.
Theodore GA bit more starting gas in the tank is my only idea for improvement.
BENJAMIN BThe only issue that I had was I tried to do everything online without talking to a person directly. Thus, I only ordered one UB box and had to scramble to get a second one when everything needed to fit in too. The rest of experience was great, except there was a glitch at the origin location, where one of the boxes was not released and they had to scramble to get it squared away on the receiving end in order to arrange local delivery. The communication via the app was actually better than expected and would recommend anyone using this option instead of trying to load and drive a truck themselves. It was great to be able to arrange loading/unloading help on both ends via the U-Haul app/website.

I tried to call in but I didn't wait long enough to reach someone when I should've I will without a doubt make sure for the next time I reach someone. JOHNNY BMy only complaint is the driveway to enter the property is a sharp turn off the McVay Highway, which I noticed particularly when returning my trailer. (Adding a roundabout created that tight corner, so it's not going to change any time soon. -Just be aware!) The trailer was in stock, ready to roll, and allowed me to take old furniture to the dump and some tools to a storage facility. This site maintains excellent inventory, has a fully stocked store for moving supplies, and friendly staff to get it done.

I filled to the level you said but it was much lower so it cost me more money. Rushed in and out of the place. Only favorable thing was being able to pick up early. It’s impossible to reach a real person here by phone to ask a simple question.

Then we were asked to drop it off at the west 7th location and we wouldn't get charged for milage then we were charged for milage anyways. That is not ok. I'm highly disappointed by what i experienced this time.

I reserved it specifcally to fit my mattress and the first unit presented was about a 4ft tall door and opened to a then larger space but not at all mattress accessible. The second unit also had a dropped ceiling and in the end I was unable to store my mattress which was the only goal from the beginning. The unit was dirty and the ceiling was not at all functional for storage of large items. The only reason I didn’t cancel my storage was that I was able to store my mattress elsewhere and I didn’t feel like re-moving my items. Expensive, old, terrible shape, and dirty. 0/10 recommend.

Due to this issue - I was unable to store my washer & dryer which I had planned to sell to help pay for my relocation. Without a place to keep them, I donated them instead. It would have been helpful had the associate confirmed my reservation when I called to confirm office hours (because I was traveling from Medford, OR). I didn’t think I needed to ask because the unit was reserved in the app and I believed that to be accurate. Additionally, the unit was reserved at least one week in advance with enough time to notify me so that I could make a more informed choice rather than being left with no other option because I needed to unload my belongings from the moving truck which also needed to be returned to Medford.

Larry S | First ImpressionsI'm glad they had a storage unit available for me for 3 weeks but they would never answer the phone (probably really busy with students moving out) and there were a lot of sugar ants and dead rats in and around my storage unit after only 3 weeks of use. When I was emptying the storage unit there were some other customers playing loud music nearby with their dog walking around which was pretty weird. I finally finished emptying the storage unit and when I went to close out with the employees in the building they said they just closed 1 minute ago and that I would have to come back in the next morning to close out my account. I had to leave town that night so they said I could just call in. Whenever I called in the phone call forwarded to the uhaul corporate number where the representative told me to call the store.. so eventually I was able to get the uhaul rep to remove my card and leave a couple emails to the store to close my unit - and was further instructed that if I received a call from the store about late rent to just tell them I already emptied the unit. I called 5 times to see if I could confirm but gave up. Everyone at u-haul has been very nice and helpful but I thought I would share this to see if there was an opportunity to improve for others. Super convenient because we’re from out of state and had to not only rent a small storage unit but, also a cargo van to move her stuff into storage. Her new apartment this upcoming year comes furnished and would not allow her to bring certain items (i.e. full size bed, kitchen items and some small furniture items that we didn’t want to part with in case her living situation changes next school year). Smallest unit available was a 5x10, which was way more space then we needed. Once we arrived from moving, a staff member and his cute little assistant met us outside and showed us to our unit. I can’t stress enough how convient having both the truck rental and storage onsite was. Once we unloaded, we dropped the van off in front of the office and were on our way. Thank you!!

We were not offered another first floor unit for the same price. Being disabled is sad & hard sometimes. Perhaps UHAUL will consider that first floor needs to be just that, no stairs, OR reasonable similar (same price) accommodations need to be made, per the ADA. They wanted more $. After I told them we were disabled & the stairs were unacceptable. Unacceptable. ACLU. ADA.

Tara V | First ImpressionsThis rating ONLY applies to the people that helped me today (6/21) went I went in to fix an issue caused by the employee who originally helped me (Ashley Babcock) Ashley treated me like I was a complete waste of his time. He refused to show me the unit thaI would be renting because he REFUSED to go upstairs! instead he decided to show me a unit that was COMPLETELY different than the one he rented me. The unit he rented me (113) was smaller than the one that I was originally shown This was due to unit 113, having an L shape lip inside it, which severely limits the space, in fact it cuts the usable space down by 1/3. If Ashley had not been so lazy, and annoyed with having to show me the unit I was renting, (which I was NOT ALLOWED TO SEE before renting) I WOULD NOT have rented it, as it did NOT suit my needs. I truly feel that I was a victim of "Bait and Switch", which is ILLEGAL! Please deal with Ashley Babcock accordingly, to prevent potential litigation in the future. Now for the 2 WONDERFUL employees that helped me today (6/21). They are the reason that I didn't get a refund and go elsewhere. They switched units for me, to one that better suited my needs, and let me actually see it before renting it..... P.S.- Just so you are aware, this is NOT the first time Ashley has been an issue. You might want to truly consider if someone who HATES helping customers and sees them as an annoyance, is really the best face attitude that you want to portray to potential customers

There is a woman that is employed there that was terse and seemed put out and bossy. The kid behind the desk was nice. No big deal. I rented a storage unit, checked in online and after seeing the space decided it was too small. During the night reserved a larger unit. Tried to cancel the one I had paid for and was transferred three or four times. Went back to the facility and the unit that was reserved online was not even available. Movers were on their way. The woman was defensive and talked over me (I was basically up all night being transferred around on the phone) and started getting defensive. She backed down, I don't get loud, but I got my point across that I am the customer, don't mistake my kindness for weakness. She made it right eventually, but the process of getting there was broken. The truck was also old and substandard. Would not trust it if I had needed it for more than a round town move. I will not use UHaul again.

The staff, particularly Amy, helped me so much in keeping everything current at the Glenwood U-Haul. I really appreciate it.

The man behind the counter verbally assaulted me He referred to me as sweetie, darlin, and when I asked to speak to his boss he yelled across the store to his manager “ I’ve got a real Spicey one for you while laughing at me. With other inappropriate comments and he kept laughing at me. The manager was not helpful and accused me of being rude and condescending. And that justified how I was being treated. I feel I was not as I was just asking how the free month of storage went I was cut off immediately and laughed at. There were 2 other men there who just shrugged their shoulders. I own 2 businesses in the area as well as a non profit. We own 2 homes in south eugene. We are always renting uhauls. I believe in the past month or so I have spent a few hundred dollars with this location as we are opening a new salon. I feel your location is volatile and extremely chauvinistic. I believe your manager sets the tone for the environment there. I have never been treated this way before. I will be leaving a google review. Looking through your reviews for this location this should not be anything new to you as it seems you have done nothing to remedy the situation. I will not be going to my storage unit alone ever. And that’s not like me. That’s how unsettling my experience this morning was.
Gina C | First ImpressionsTHANK YOU STEPH!!!! The only reason I can say anything positive about my experience is because of Steph at the Glenwood location. We ran into an issue at absolutely every moment possible. The first day we got there will all our stuff, the original unit, which we were told would fit a one bedroom apartment (we had a studio), was WAY too small, and Steph had to walk us over and help us find a new one. We loaded everything into the unit and began our 3 week wait for our house. On August 1st our house was ready and we were ready to be moved in only to find the entire parking lot under construction and employees trying to tell us we wouldn’t have access to our unit that day. Steph was the only one who physically walked us around to a back gate so we could access our necessary items for our home. I was expecting to have all our stuff moved out that day which now was impossible, and my partner and I started work the very next day. My partner called and spoke with customer service to ask for an extension for our unit due to the construction and the representative in the scheduling department was extremely helpful. We were then told that the employees had no idea the construction was even happening and it was inconvenient to them as well, which is an awful thing to do to your employees in the middle of the summer on the first of the month. We are finally moved out of our unit and will never ever ever be doing this again. I’ll drive 2 hours to Bend to store my stuff at my friends house before I ever go to a uhaul for storage ever again. Steph you are a ray of sunshine thank you for all your hard work, you really went absolutely above and beyond for us multiple times. Please give Steph a raise seriously, I’m confident that she’s the only reason that building is operation. Thank you Steph!!!

Most storage rooms are upstairs, two flight of stairs and no elevators. I had no choice and had to get this storage since our uhaul was due. I preferred moving storage facilities because we would be working harder not smarter since all of our belongings are extremely heavy. I rated this place a 2 out of 5 because the positive stars go to the customer service representative who was amazing. The low rating is for the inconvenience of upstairs storage unit.

If I had not gotten my unit I swear I would never use U-Haul again, still probably won’t, don’t want to drive 4 hours just to be told your unit isn’t available.

I had to change all my moving plans around and now have to take an extra day off due to the incompetence of U-Haul.

Not so! When we cleaned out the unit, THEN we were told "oh, sorry we told you that . . . it's not true. Once you have paid the month's rent, there is no refund even if you move out early." So beware..

The move in was a joke where I had to push a cart up a steep little hill through a tiny door. I broke at least four plastic bins moving into a 5’ tall unit. This was the most difficult and stressful move in EVER! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It’s dirty, small and the access is horrific. This is the last straw in my attempts to use U-Haul. I AM DONE! Nothing ever pans out the way the website says it will.

I had never been to the location and the gate was a bit hidden with all of the moving trucks in front of it. It would’ve been helpful to know which direction to head to access the gate. Also, it would be helpful to note to customer when online booking is complete that the unit will be ready for customer access and customer is to break the green ties that are holding the doors shut. I was a bit confused as I didn’t know I had authority to break the tie myself and had to request the help of an employee. Amy was so helpful and very nice. Besides these two little hiccups, everything else was great.

I saw one bring all his groceries to the unit, including a cooler with ice to keep his milk cold. That really isn’t okay or safe for people who are storing their belongings. Also, I saw multiple mice at the facility and most of the employees never wore their face mask. Overall terrible experience.

Justin F | First ImpressionsFirst the unit itself was difficult to find when I got to the facility. Drove around for a while before finally deciding to go inside and ask where it was. Then found that there is no parking right in front of the storage building and maybe 5-6 spots that were all taken on the other side so that wasn’t convenient for move in. Then the code we received wouldn’t work to get into the building so had to go back into the office. Finally we were able to look at the unit and it was too small so back to the office to see if they had a different one. They luckily just had one open so we went to that one. They had called it their “big door” but it definitely wasn’t big. It was maybe 5 feet tall and no lighting so hard to see to the back. But at the very back there was a small black box on the floor that said DANGER RAT POISON. I refused to keep my belongings and mattress there so just went BACK to the office and cancelled everything. After being there for an hour and half just trying to move in, I was very frustrated with this storage facility. Called a new one closer to home that had availability and the difference was night and day. I would not recommend this storage facility to anyone.

The line got kind of long and due to the wait people got unruly. It was busy to the point where I went to another uhaul location just so the staff at glen wood could help the next person. The other thing is that there isn’t an elevator. So if you’re moving furniture, bring a friend with you. Other then those, the unit was really clean. The staff member who helped with how to access the building and show me where my unit was, was super helpful. The unit itself was very big and after asking around, I got an awesome deal
