Couldn't figure out how to check in to our storage unit to get the gate open the gentleman wasn't that helpful I was out there for enough hours to pass that by the time I figured out how to check in for my access code to work the place was closed! I would think that access hours mean when you can go into your storage unit but that's just a drop trucks off apparently

The worst staff I have ever encounter. They quote you a price over the phone and when you get to the facility they tell you a total different amount and come up with reasons that the amount increased & a different size storage unit and truck. That staff were the worst of the worst. I will never deal with them again. Rude, Inconsiderate, liars.

The initial ordering the container at the store was done by a young woman that was not properly trained. She asked coworkers several times but no one stepped on to help. Transaction had to be redone several times and was still not done correctly.

the guy who helped me check in and hook up the trailer was great. He made sure I had lights to the trailer and when they didn't work at first he helped troubleshoot the problem and reconnect a wire that had been severed. On my way in less than 20 min!

The morning person was working alone and he wasn’t very friendly. I had to wait almost an hour to get served because there were people ahead of me and he was the only one there. The vans are parked so close together I could not get inside. I had to have a person to back it out for me. This location needs more help and friendly staff. There was one really nice person when I returned the van.

Mention on your website that Uhaul trailers don't come wired for a 7-way plug. We purchased the adapter for $15, but I had one at home I would have brought with me if I had known. The on-line and phone applications were helpful in obtaining the reservation and in returned the unit.

I arrived at 12:20 pm after having made a 12:30 reservation online to rent an enclosed trailer. I was finally helped at about 12:35 by a young man who took ten minutes to complete the paperwork process. Then he went outside with me to get the trailer. The lot was so heavily congested that by the time the trailer was hooked up and other vehicles had moved so I could leave, it was 12:55. He apologized and asked me if I could still have the trailer back by 7:00 pm and I told him I would. I pulled back into the lot at 6:40 pm (less than six hours after I had departed the lot). By the time a man offered to check me back in it was 6:50. He told me my bill was double the original quote because I had returned late. My original bill including $8.00 insurance was $37.95. My credit card was charged $75.90. If this is how they choose to treat a repeat-customer when it was they who caused the delay, I am done with U-Haul and will recommend that other find alternative companies to rent from.

I went to the office, the person behind the counter was finishing up a phone call. When he hung up I said hello I'm here to pick up a trailer. The man looked at me not saying anything, went to restroom i never saw him again. Waited for approximately 20 minutes and still he's in the restroom. Finally the "owner" showed up with his pants unzipped and rudely said SOMEONE WILL BE YOU SOON. He counted some money and asked who's next. I did the necessary paperwork and left. I found this experience to be one of the worst ever with U-Haul. I would like to be refunded my money due to the rude behavior.

I responded “yes” if the staff was friendly and helpful, but in scheduling in Portland, the staff seemed confused and very disorganized to even schedule the rental. Also the instructions kept changing from one visit to another. The staff in Charlotte NC were informative and kept me informed of delays. I dealt with several delays before it arrived at my destination.

Don't suggest alternatives under the pretense that it will be cheaper overall when in fact it will run about 100$ more. Was very clear I needed the truck for two days and was still charged late return fee... Wait time was >30 mins last Saturday. Previous truck rented ran extremely rough and seemed like it needed transmission service. Was also rented to me with an 1/8th of a tank in it.

I was to return the truck by Wed 10am but I got done early and wanted to drop it off the night before. When I got there, they were closed so had to try and do the online return and would not work. I had to call another Uhual, and she was able to help me get it taken care of. I left something in the truck and Buda called me to let me know and told me he will put it in the mail no charge and I will have it beginning of next week. Great customer service.

Upon arrival, I was ignored by a staff person when asking a question on what to do and had to repeat the question twice before he finally responded to me in a customer unfriendly manner. My wife was driving a separate vehicle to pick me up and as it was unclear where to park, she parked temporarily, and was then approached by another staff person who rudely told her to move and was unhelpful in telling her where to park. We both left the location feeling we had experienced vey poor customer service and would not come back to this location.

This experience was much better than previous. The guy handling the the process of getting me the van was polite and professional. The van was great! Clean, smelled good, and no issues. Returning the van was also met with polite professionalism.

The cabin of the truck I got smelled terrible of cat pee! When returning the truck, my wife attempted to discuss with the attendant at the counter ... he was rude and didn't seem to care until I came inside. The waiting there is my only concern. I have used this location 3 times. The first 2 times they were super busy with customers so quite understandable. This time I was the only person there and still had to wait 10-15 minutes to get the trailer I had already reserved online. It seemed like there was one guy minding the desk and tending to things outside. Other than that, the trailer was hitched properly, tires were in good shape and my move went without incident. Overall, it's great having a place you can rent equipment to help our lives run a little more smoothly.

About 2 miles down the road I saw a wire hanging down on drivers side wheel well from my mirrors. . Pulled over and placed wire for that small light where it would not get damaged. Also all the guys in the facility were very unfriendly. Myself and another customer had a conversation about how unfriendly they were. I will try and use another facility if I have to rent a trailer again. I would normally return uhaul when I see something not correct with the trailer. But I did not want to deal with them again so just used the trailer till I was done and returned it around 630 pm.

I had reserved a locker a week before I moved. My locker got cancelled, and not by me. They reserved another locker at the Gresham location. When I got there they didn't have a locker available in the size I rented so I had to take a smaller locker. The girl that checked me in was horrible. It took her forever to check me in, and had to get her manager because she couldn't figure it out. Then she led me around in 100° heat to where she thought the locker was. I told her I'd find it myself. My movers had been waiting out in the heat. She was very apathetic. I had to ask one of the other workers for help and it turned out she had written the incorrect building and locker. After all this I have discovered that I was charged for a locker that I was supposed to receive a free month when I rented the moving U haul. She also didn't give me any paperwork. At least the 2 young men that were working were able to sort it out, otherwise I would have rated it with one star. I would give them 4 stars.

We first started out with Cody the manager of this u-haul facility. He was incredible. Now I know why. He was trained by Ryan his boss. We can only say good and great things about this particular facility. They are friendly and always ready to help in the most beneficial way. I will always continue to respect them and promote them. That are the best.

After moving to Gresham from out of state with a Uhaul truck, I didn't know exactly what storage place was best or closest, so I used the free month of storage promotion, that I received from the truck rental. The unit I got was 10x10 with a surprisingly and incredibly low ceiling, of around 5 feet, I had to duck to walk into it. The other serious problem was parking, all available parking by my units access door was taken up by Uhaul trucks and trailers, making loading and unloading to the unit a serious chore. I decided to look around, found a similar 10x10 unit at a competitors facility with a 8 foot ceiling for 1/4 of the rental fee. Not only was the competition a 300 cubic foot larger unit, it was hundreds of dollars less per month. The security was far better, the door opened easier, and there was plenty of designated areas to park. After realizing the smaller Uhaul unit would cost me over $3000 yearly, compared to the larger, competitors unit at under $800 yearly, I felt bamboozled, totally taken advantage of by Uhaul. The staff was friendly, which earned the "below average" rating, up from a "poor" experience. I will definitely opt for a competitor, over using Uhaul storage facilities in the future.

This U-Haul location is a nightmare. They rarely answer the phone personally, so to do any business you have to go in person. Parking is horrible and the whole place is constantly so chaotic it’s a dread to go. The younger employees are very kind and courteous but the manager is not at all. He doesn’t smile, is not courteous and I’m glad my storage time is done. They park so many trucks that the driving space is so narrow it often causes traffic jams, which makes getting to your belongings safely difficult or sometimes impossible. If one person is loading or unloading with all the trucks parked, you can’t get by and sometimes you can’t get to the door that leads to your stuff. You wait a very long time in the lobby and no one greets you or lets you know what’s going on. They will leave with a guest and not come back for 20 min with 4 people in line. Every person that came with me to my storage unit commented how horrible the actual usage of the space was. Maybe if you pack it once and leave it and never come to get anything it might work as long as the day you plan to unload there’s not a major uncrating event, or any other even small thing going on in an already crowded area.

This location is extremely busy! Their system of receiving needs tweaking. The reps in the office are also working the yard and this leads to long customer wait times. The reps are super but each of the 3 times I went in, it was at least a 20+ minute wait. Always a line of people. No number system, no waiting room, no chairs…just a line to the door. Other than that, the equipment was in good order and I appreciate the convenience.

The lot is too small and there isn't any place for a truck to park to move stuff into the storage unit effectively because it was soo full with equipment. The staff had to move several vehicles around the lot and kept making us move. TJ B. was very rude and not very helpful. I had to go back just to figure out how to get into the building. The other two staff were helpful.

I had a couple close family deaths & the girls in accounting were kind enough to void out the lien & late charges. It also really helped reminding me when I would forget my monthly payment. Yes I would recommend you to everyone! The only thing bad was your late fee is high.

I've done a lot of business with Uhaul in my life and this location and services are by far the best I've ever experienced. And it's because of the best manager I've met at any location. Overall good experience, but we were disappointed when checking to see if we left something behind in the storage unit that they just throw it away and didn’t try to contact us before doing so. We unfortunately lost something important. We realize we are responsible for getting everything out, but oversights do happen and it is unfortunate there was no attempt to reach out to us either by email or phone message. I reserved a smaller unit but at check in was told it was given away. That meant a bigger, more expensive unit than I needed. I moved out to a smaller less expensive unit elsewhere. The maintenance on the trucks is my biggest issue. Truck used to move in had a radiator leak and over heated during use. The truck used to move out dropped the drivetrain while driving on the freeway. Scary experience!! They dropped all charges but didn't pay for the Lyft I had to order or the miles I had to walk in the cold, pouring rain to get off the fwy.

The motion sensor was not working correctly and so from time to time the hallway was dark which made it difficult to see inside the unit. Otherwise, I know they are doing their best in spite of a shortage of coverage. I felt bad because they were always running and overwhelmed and THAT IS NOT RIGHT. We are human beings, and no amount of money makes up for stress, injury, working away from family for overtime. I have been a patron since the establishment was built, and it is where I go when I need trucks or storage. I pray you get more help.

Called to check a unit. For next day onsite inspection. Employee said he would hold unit. Next day I called to remind employee and say I will be right in. To get unit discussed I arrived to find unit being given to different customer. It was only unit of that size. Employee said “nothing could be done about it and I could go elsewhere miles away” in the end I had to purchase a smaller unit which will be difficult to fit all the property into.

I emptied out my storage on Saturday January 8th. I had just paid my monthly storage payment on the 4th of 154.95. The employee assured me he would take care of it by Monday January 10th. Today is the 13th and I had to call customer service to try and resolve this isssue. Still waiting to hear from someone now.

My storage unit was broken into. Nothing was done about it. No one looked through surveillance videos, I wasn’t offered any compensation. No one really seemed to car. I paid a lot of money and my stuff would have been safer if I left it on a street corner. Will never use this storage facility again and am telling all of my friends not to use it either.

The location and hours were fine. The only reason I had to leave was because there was a rodent infestation in my unit. It appeared that mice came in through two different holes in the unit and left urine and feces all over, as well as a few dead mice. I know for certain I did not have any perishable items that would cause this issue. It was all furniture and appliances. I would not recommend this location for your storage needs, I basically paid to have my items pooped on- gross! Now I'm in the process of making an insurance claim, just a big inconvenience overall.

Just a suggestion but perhaps rent a larger and or multiple dumpsters and charge $10 or $20/month for those who wish to rent them or flat charge everyone like $5/month. You would most likely Make Money this way while eliminating the current issue of being dbl charged for over flowing dumpsters. That same plan outline would work for electricity use and or access to even if only on a monthy basis. Sometimes the only spare time I have to get something out, in, or clean my storage unit is after dark and having had both an inside and outside unit I would have Gladly Paid to rent electricity so I could plug ina light to see wth I'm doing. Please consider these requests....

Second time I have dealt with the person checking us in. Abrupt and not flexible.. Showed us what we needed to know. When asked about the free lock, because it says on the website multiple times - free lock with a rental. He could not handle the customer service and said, No! That is not how we do it here. When we got to the unit. There was a lock inside. He scooped it up. I said again. The website says there is a lock included. Again. He said no. We do not give out locks. From my experience it your website states something, you honor it.

I started with two storage units, one inside and the other outside. The former being exposed to the weather, somewhat was not good. Inside was much better. I do have a question about the security. I was told it was great security but twice I have gone to the storage unit and the entrance gate is wide open and then when I got to the door to enter my section of storage I didn’t have to scan my card because the door was open both times. I didn’t feel very secure. I do have a lock on my unit of course but I was told everything was going to be shut and you had to use your card to enter the gate and then into the door

Uhaul was not helpful when I lost my lock keys and offered no help and offered no solution other than call a locksmith. Locksmith was gonna cost more than the 165 I paid a month. Luckily we found a way to cut it off. No thanks to uhaul. So instead of continuing with uhaul I emptied and left. Only positive thing was the refund. Will I use uhaul again for storage....NO!

I rented the space in the morning and returned with a small utility trailer full of belongings. The outside doors to the indoor storage spaces were open and unlocked, not secure. The space I rented was not the size advertised. Supposed to be 5’x10’ and was actually 3.5’x10’ with a raised area across the 10’ width of half of the total space of the floor looking like a bench, which greatly minimized the floor space. In addition, when we opened the door to the space, a large piece of ceiling sheetrock fell down from the ceiling, barely missing my head. Again, a large open space in the ceiling, not secure. Not acceptable. Also, there were steep stairs to the second floor, no elevator, which was very inconvenient. There were no other units available so we ended up taking our trailer full of stuff to Public Storage facility. Luckily we found a space at the last minute and we were able to move our load into that space that evening. The staff are all great and manager Cody is wonderful. He really helped me with an early appointment to have a hitch installed on my Highlander. And, I rented the storage, with the first month free. I appreciate everything they did to help and they were super busy but took the time to fully assist all their customers. Our area is under various levels of evacuation orders due to wildfires and we are all trying to safeguard at least some of our precious belongings. Cody and the staff are working extra hard to help people and I don’t think that the condition of their storage adequately reflects their good works. The storage facility seems to be in poor condition and needs renovation including an elevator so that it meets ADA building standards for public access.

Had a hard time logging into door access after swiping card at gate and door. Problem seemed that the entrance gate was often times open. Had to ask for help several times.

We had a 400 mile move to make, equipment was selected online with no problem, felt comfortable selecting insurance and roadside assistance a sit was very affordable. The equipment performed perfectly and was a good ride and fun to drive. The assistance at the distant end was amazing considering it was a Saturday and everyone was checking equipment in and out. I got a storage unit that was perfect for was we needed, however, the access is limited to daytime hours as the door was not set up for the card access. I haven't used u-Haul in a few years but distinctly feel there is grand improvement in personnel, equipment and service.

The facility is super clean and well maintained. Most of the staff are helpful and work so hard. The reason they wouldn't get 5 stars is because the reservation system is not functional. I reserved one large and one medium unit a month before or 1000 mile cross border move. When I called to verify a week before the move, they had no record of my reservation even though I had been given a number. So I reserved again and to my dismay we were contacted during the 40 hour trip to say thre was no large unit. Both times I was left to feel I had done something wrong, though I had talked to multiple people and left a credit card number. We had to reschedule our movers and fortunately we had been given extra days in Canada on our 26' truck. We found storage at another facility in the city and unloaded three days after the original plan.

I'd like to commend the managers and staff at this U-Haul location for the way they've responded during this Covid-19 pandemic. They've been gentle and understanding to those of us that have lost our sources of income and are unable to pay our storage dues. I stayed in contact and gave them updates on my situation and each time my news was met with kindness. Mentally & emotionally this has been a rough time for soooo many reasons but I appreciate the U-haul staff for making it a little less stressful.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Negatives were I had several things stolen from my indoor unit. Several fishing poles and a clam gun. Total was about $600. A gap exists in adjacent units where the rollup door is at the front of the unit. The stolen items were all in reach to steal. Filing a complaint with corporate was denied. No camera existed on the isle my storage unit was. Very disappointed and lost some sentimental expensive items.

The problems with booking a trailer one-way from Toronto, ON, Canada, to Portland, OR, USA, on a German credit card (5 calls with the hotline, only the last one with another associate brought the wanted result) were annoying, but the rest was absolutly flawless.
