I would rate this location ZERO stars if I could. I have been using U-Haul all over the PNW, including Alaska, for 25 years and have NEVER had an experience as horrible as this! This was my first and last time at this location. The ordeal started with the desk rep ignoring me for ten minutes while he discussed with another customer what are in his own words "very strong views" about being in support of cops killing criminals, "one less out there in the streets". When I finally realized the rep wasn't helping the guy or anyone I else, I had to butt into their conversation to get service. He did not provide me with some very pertinent information such as the need to access a pre-trip link via text before leaving the lot, or that there were special circumstances around an after-hours return. When I did my after hours return did not show that I actually had a rental at all, so I couldn't follow the proper return process. After waiting on hold with customer service for what felt like forever, and never getting through to anyone, I dropped the key in the dropbox anyway and figured they would contact me if there were any problems. The next morning someone at the location called me, leaving a voicemail, saying they need to know what I did with the key, as the van was rented for 9am. and they can't send it out (because they don't have a spare?) and if I don't produce the key, i will be charged several fees that would total over $200. I called them back and unknowingly was routed to an answering service where I had to wait on hold for what seemed like forever (AGAIN), for them to tell me they would have the location call me back. The location called me back and I tried to reason with them on the phone that I in fact dropped the key in the box at 7:30 PM. The man just repeated over and over to me "you need to figure out what you did with the key" until he said he couldn't deal with me on the phone anymore because he has 14 customers in line. It took a trip to the office and an extensive wait behind 9 people in line just to convince them to look at the cameras.They said they were too busy to deal with it right now and sent me away. They never got back with me as they said they would, so I followed up at the end of day. They told me "someone" found the key "somewhere" outside, with no other explanation or apology of any kind. To add to the experience, every single interaction (in-person or on the phone) included problems with their technology; the touch pad/cc machine wouldn't reboot, the computer was frozen, the keyboard quit typing, and even my receipt wouldn't email to me. I went through all of this to haul a free couch 3.5 miles.To top it off, when I went to plead for them not to charge me $200, the guy ahead of me was getting told 'sorry' because they called him the day before letting him know his truck would be ready today that he was driving to Texas, but overnight they 'lost' it. Been in this facility a couple times and team was always friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that I went back there with 1 of the trucks I rented because it had a burned out headlight. They said they could not help that I'd have to go buy and change the light myself.

This location was outstanding and has always been for the 20 years that I've gone to this location. They took an otherwise horrific customer experience with U Haul and made it a positive. A very special thank you to Cody Reid who was extremely understanding and attentive to customer service. I had reserved a 26' truck which did not return on time so I was offered a 20' by your customer service center. This doubled my mileage and hours needed for the movers I hired. They were non apologetic and almost rude and eventually hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. I called back and was again treated poorly but promised a call back from their supervisor. I never received a call. All I wanted was a credit for the miles and some sort of compassion for the situation I found myself in by no fault of my own. I was furious with the lack of care from your customer service call center and if not for Cody, I would have never returned to UHaul for service again.

This entire rental was screwed up from the start. We were quoted a price online that was then changed upon renting and then added to when dropping off. I ended up paying the same price had I had hired movers. Would definitely not rent a truck again. We should have paid $240 which we were quoted but ended up paying almost double. Pro tip don't trust anything you are told from one of their agents.

There is a major large truck shortage in the Portland area- the staff at Gresham U-Haul pulled off a minor miracle to ensure that our family had two trucks that would accommodate our move. Customer service level= above and beyond!

Uhaul is usually a great company but this time I had to move during Covid and Uhaul (all the staff) we exceptional this time. Not sure if it was the same guy that I brought the truck back to but if not they were both so very kind and helpful. Gave me a discount if I bought the truck back there and also forgave the ab out 20 miles in gas I didnt fill up. So I hats off to your crew and the company. I was above and beyond satisfied and I will always recommend and If I need to use Uhaul. Keep up the good work.

When I was done and went into the office to return the key and check-out, no one was in the office. I waited about 5 minutes and more customers came in and waited, too. Finally someone showed up (short staffed?). Also, the employee who handles storage rental calls was next to the employee who was helping me to pick up my rental, and she spoke loudly on the phone which made it difficult to hear the guy helping me rent. A very poor set up. And U-Haul needs to be upfront with the Rental Tax! I was surprised when I got my bill. Sorry, but next time I need to rent I'll explore other options.

Less wait time for us old-timers who use the phone. Luckily, it was when I was done moving, but the rear door jammed open just as I was returning the truck, and I was on hold for the whole drive. Someone answered just as I was pulling in to the location--almost a half hour.
