I would absolutely NOT recommend this location to a friend and NEVER EVER attempt a return at night. The process is not smooth, I waited almost 20 mins to get into the cargo van. A payment was taken from me in the amount of $84.27 yet U-haul has no record of it. I paid twice just to get a cargo van without an explanation or expectation of a return. The locks STICK and make it impossible to retrieve the key. The app overall sucks the biggest donkey balls! Glitches repeatedly and delays pickup. U-haul should truly be ashamed for cutting communication with customers and thinking this was a smart move. I will never utilize this company again as it does not care about customer satisfaction AT ALL
Essence HThe mobile check in process is very slow. I arrived at my scheduled time of 5:30 and wasn’t able to take the truck until almost 6. I wish I had been prompted to complete the check in and approval before hand so I could use the truck for the full time I intended

When I rented out my unit, thinking it was indoor, I didn't take out enough insurance and most of my furniture had water damage. (roof leaked, once the snow melted.)

Antonio TThe return process was a nightmare. The pictures wouldn’t upload, the UX was confusing, and my battery was running low while it was snowing. I was cold, tired, and following instructions, and the app wasn’t working and was causing me to open and close the back of the truck over and over again. Incredibly frustrating.

Ahmad KThere are some good things about this location. The first is the 24/7 access. I did have to go late one night, and it was nice to be able to have that access. I also like that I have only seen another person at this location maybe 5 times, and I have had a unit for about 3 years. There is not staff at this location, and there has not been any for years. That does not bother me, and it was made clear when I rented. I did have trouble with the computer door locks once, but I called the office (which is at another location of their's near the football stadium) and they easily helped me from there. I went once and there was a problem with the automatic door. I called the office, and it was fixed before my next visit. Those are the good things. The bad...I had some water leak into my unit. I keep almost all of my items in waterproof boxes, so it was not a problem for me, but is not something that should be happening in an indoor climate controlled space. My unit was also on the 1st floor, so it is definitely not something I expected. I did have a bunch of unused moving boxes that were flat against the wall...those were ruined due to the water, and I had noticeable water stains on some of my waterproof boxes. I have also been a bit uncomfortable here due to homeless hanging around. There is a fairly permanent (very small) tent area set up about a block away, and one time when I was there a man climbed out of the dumpster and approached me. The access as far as pulling up a car is not the best as well. The side many times is occupied by their trucks, and there are 3 loading areas up front with different heights. The one for automobiles has this crazy drop off so it can be uncomfortable to back in. The ledge is also too high for my SUV, so no matter where you park you have to take a couple stairs...which is not great for moving. The last straw for me was I had a reservation for a bigger unit. I called a few days before I was supposed to move to check the details, and they did not have the unit available. It was very infuriating. This storage is VERY close to my condo, so the convenience for me overrode some of the problems with this location. The fact that they rented me a storage unit...and then not have it available...was not ok in my book. I made my reservation on December 9th for a January 15th move in date. Thankfully I called to check, or I might have really had a problem. I found a great unit at Green Box Storage over by Coors Field. We will see how that one turns out.

Susan H | First ImpressionsWhen I arrived at the location to pick up my rental the door to the office was locked. I could see that no one was sitting at the desk. There was a doorbell so I pressed that but nothing happened. I tried calling the number of the GM posted on the door but there was no answer. So I had to *install the app* just to chat with someone at a call center who claimed they contacted the manager to come my way. It took half an hour of waiting around outside to see another human and finally get the keys to my truck.
Esley BSelf-Checking process was really difficult, it was confusing what to do, a lot of the buttons in the process didn't work, and I also ordered a dolly and it wasn't in the vehicle. I didn't know I wasn't going to get one until I called a representative

MATTHEW E | Overall ExperienceUnlocking the truck digitally is a pain in the ass. Too many steps and not clear on how to start that process once onsite. The code to unlock the truck was incorrect because the only cleaning lady onsite chose the wrong code from a previous reservation.
Garrett EVehicle had mud on it. Vehicle had 144,000 miles. I ordered a dolly but there was no dolly inside truck and no one at location to provide dolly. Check in process took over 30 minutes. I was very unsatisfied with U-Haul

Diego was also a great person to work with, I interacted with him less than Rhonda but he was also very responsive and communicative.

Secondly, no call was made to my verification contact despite being told they didn't answer the phone. Thirdly, had to abandon the check in prices because it wouldn't accept any picture of the license plate. I can't imagine I'll ever use any uhaul location ever again out of sheer principal.

CHARLES S | Overall ExperienceI understand contract is under in my name. I was in the hospital with shortness of breath and heart failure for 1 week. I was planning to come to Denver to help my daughter get settled in her apartment. Due to my health. I canceled my trip. I call U-haul to give authorization to my daughter to have access to the storage on my behalf. Someone at the office change the lock without contacting me and refused to let my daughter access to storage on my behalf. Your staff doesn’t care about my health and forcing me to show up in person with my ID. I am considering filed a small claim court against U-haul for their actions. I did fly to Denver to help get my daughter’s stuff out of the storage. I will never use u-haul again.

Bruce MYour app would not let me login or get a one-time code so I had to check in manually which took a longer time. Also, I couldn’t confirm the drop off for the same reason.
BRAD SAfter putting in quite a bit of information on the App for the reservation, the check out process was very time consuming. Took approximately 45 minutes. Waiting for the App to download each picture of the truck condition and id's was very time consuming. Each picture took several minutes to download. There weren't any clear instructions on how the process works once you arrived at the mobile check out facility until you were ready to pick up and began the process. App never did complete the process once everything was done and loaded into the app. Buffered for hours until drop-off. Upon drop-off, the instructions say to return the key as it was, locked back into the back of the truck........then it asks for the odometer reading. Very frustrating trying to unlock everything to retrieve the key to turn the truck back on to get the reading. This should be the 1st step not one of the last. Would much rather deal with an in-person facility.
Dylan TIn a “climate controlled” storage facility you expect the temperature to be below 95 degrees & you certainly don’t expect water damage to your belongings. Unfortunately, we got both at this storage unit. The ceiling above our unit appear to be cracked which had dumped cracked cement all over our stuff & we also believe this has let water in which ruined several belongings. When we brought all these issues up to the office (& the general manager directly) they said we should talk with our insurance & there is nothing they could do about it nor would they discuss the matter further with us. I find this beyond frustrating & a complete, total lack of accountability or care for their customers.

Also, I'm sure this is more systematic than per the location, but the check in and checkout processes were time consuming and frustrating.

Dara B | First ImpressionsI was not told at all that this location is ***UNSTAFFED*** and that while I was paying $150/hour for the movers waiting at my house, I would have to spend precious time entering tons of information on my tiny phone screen praying it didn't die with 10% battery (and for some reason you asked for the phone number of my employer???) This is after wasting 5 minutes running around the building frantically banging on doors until thankfully a cleaning person answered and told me this was all online. YOU NEED TO TELL PEOPLE THERE ARE NO HUMAN BEINGS AT THIS LOCATION. If I had known, I would NEVER have chosen this option!!! The dolly I reserved was also not present in the truck. If there had been a person present, this could have been resolved immediately.

I reserved a unit to access last weekend and upon my arrival, my access code did not work and I could not access the storage building or my unit. no one was around to help, and when I called the customer support line it was not answered, and I still have not heard back. I would like to speak to someone about this immediately, please.

When I spoke to the representative in the office she informed me that my name was not on their files. Not only did the associate help me navigate the issue and got me into my unit, she also comped me the first months rent for the inconvenience. So far, great experience. Happy with my choice!

LUCAS WNo one explains the full process to access the unit when you first get it and then the steps required seem unnecessarily burdensome. Also there was rarely anyone at the facility in the office and calling the manager phone number posted at the site leads to voicemail every time. There were also dead moths in my unit so the pest control seems inadequate.

The two women that they used to clean the facility who were moved to a different facility I caught stealing from somebody who was moving out. And literally the day I moved in they caught three guys in the building trying to rob the place after I warned them the night I slept in the truck that there were two people casing the joint.

Naviana GThe rental was scheduled for 7 am, but the self-checkout app was malfunctioning, leaving me stranded in the lot until 8:30 when an employee finally arrived. It took an additional 30 minutes to secure the truck. Upon starting, the low fuel light immediately illuminated. While it served its purpose for my brief move, the overall experience was far from efficient or seamless. The two hours spent in the lot and at the gas station made the rental less worthwhile.

Frank H | First ImpressionsWe had a very poor experience with U-Haul this weekend. The lock code that was given to us was the incorrect code for the truck that was assigned to us, so we weren't able to get the keys to our truck. We tried using the online chat function - that didn't work. We tried calling the U-Haul phone number - I was transferred and then the call dropped after being on hold for 5-10 minutes. We tried ringing the doorbell on the building - there were no employees at this location. After trying the phone number again, we were finally able to connect with a real person at customer service and she had us try every possible lock code they had until one eventually worked. We were standing outside this location for over 1.5 hours, which in-turn set our moving plan back. Thankfully we were able to get $50 refunded on our truck rental, although I would've appreciated a full refund for this issue and inconvenience.

Luke BAbsolutely terrible experience to only be able to get the truck using the app. No indication on the building that is how you have to get the truck, so I was stuck on hold calling the help center until I was told how to get the truck. Then the code that was given to me for the truck was incorrect, so I had to call again. And then the fact there’s no dolly or moving blankets available for rent at the facility makes it absolutely useless and one I will never go to again.
Joe HThe Self Serve system does not work well. The app and website are very slow and the both DL scanner's would not take my DL. U-Haul Had to call a relative to verify my identity. Took 45 minutes before I could actually get in to the vehicle. The employee there stated that they cannot assist me in any way. A really screwy system which I would not do again. Wasted valuable time due to this poor set-up, but still had to return it at the same time that my original reservation was booked for even though it was due to app and website issues on your companies end.

I should have been paid for everything I did at drop off and pick up. Your app made me fill out the same information multiple times. The programmers you used should all be fired because if I didn’t know how to use technology well I wouldn’t have been able to figure it out. The user interface was horrible. Really walked away from this experience hoping I never need a uhaul ever again. I hope the money you saved from making the customer be your employee to get their uhaul is worth it cause I won’t be coming back.
Sean HI got my reservation online and when I went to get the truck they did not have one assigned to my reservation so I spent 40 mins working with them to see what the issue was and nobody could figure it out. Their only tip was “refreshing”

So no help. I waited 90 minutes to pull away in truck. Had movers waiting for me. Cost me more money!! I’ve requested some type of refund but have heard nothing. I’ll NEVER do a pickup without a person in the office to help. Much easier having a person and not rely on technology. Horrible system!!!

Like I said I couldn’t get the app or website to work, so thankfully a young man had just arrived at U-Haul and he assisted me way above and beyond

You would have to drive to the main office this is a inconvenience to me and I would use a easy facility next time I was to tired to find something else made my move hard.

Found a used hypodermic needle in my unit. This means that a drug addict was using in the facility and threw his waste over the wall into my unit via the open ceiling.

Ryan MI found the app-only rental experience frustrating. The steps made sense but were laborious. I would just as soon go to a counter and initiate/end the transaction. I saw no benefit from the app experience. Also, I had already secured a rental for several days from now and had to repeat the entire process to rent another truck. Seemed unnecessary.
BRIAN SWaited almost an hour after pick up time trying to get help. Would not answer front door. When called, they told me they were busy and I should call the 800#. Vehicular wasn’t checked in adding to more delays. Upon recipt, vehicle as on empty. With only a few miles left in tank. Had to make an emergency stop at gas station right after pick up. Terrible service and experience.

Todd W | First ImpressionsI made my reservation online a few days prior to needing the truck. I decided that I needed two dollies so I called the listed number for this location. She promptly added 2 dollies to my order and re-confirmed my location pick up and time. All seemed to go smoothly until we arrived to the destination on pick up day. This was a mobile-only location and the online reservation system and the lady I spoke to, made this a in-person reservation. So no one was there to assist us. I sat on hold for an hour before I got ahold of someone who switched my reservation to a mobile reservation. After getting the truck, there were no dollies and the back door of the truck’s springs were so tight that it got jammed multiple times which made the moving process by no means easy. When it came to returning the truck, we were told to return it to spot 5. Spot 5 was already taken by another truck. Terrible experience. I want my money back.

I had to drive to a completely different location to speak to a human. I would not rent a truck from here. Fahbia AWorst experience ever, the instructions to get the keys were wrong, there were lockboxes by the door that weren't mentioned in the instructions, and the key was in box 2 when it said it would be in box 10, which didn't even exist. Truck had several things that were broken too, including the handle of the back door that was jammed open up on my arrival. Took me 15 minutes to get it unjammed.

Both dismissive and rude and struggled to provide a satisfactory experience that ultimately had us waiting for an hour to get going with our rental despite being the only customers in the store. One employee flat out refused help and was wildly dismissive. I will avoid using uhaul again as this experience left us wildly frustrated and behind in moving two homes in one day. Employees were dismissive and rude in what ultimately became a self service experience.

Pamela O | Overall ExperienceThis particular facility is one of the worst facilities I’ve ever seen in my entire life having moved to multiple states over the years. The staff is very friendly and helpful and does a good job. But the layout makes moving in and out horrible.the primary thing that makes this facility a living nightmare is the outdated cargo elevator with no motorized automation, forcing you to open and close two sets of heavy doors Every single time you want to take a load up or down a floor, this is exhausting, along with the fact that the elevator floor doesnt align flush with the hallway floor so every time you go in or out the elevator you have to pull the cart up and over which usually results in your load of items falling off the cart. Nightmare to deal with.

I never saw anyone at the Lipan site. When I went over the first time to move in, the company lock was still on the door. I could not locate anyone onsite to remove it for over 30 minutes. The office was open, the persons cell phone was plugged in but no person. Charity sent someone over from the other location to finally let me in after also not being able to locate the onsite person. She was great!

You can do everything from your phone." We then waited outside the storage building on hold for eternity for a customer service rep whom proceeded to tell us that we had to go to the U-Haul on 2000 Lower Colfax to "finish paperwork." The young woman at that location was rude, unfriendly, and argumentative. She tried to send me a link to upload my ID which I had already done at the beginning of this entire U-Haul process, and for some reason, it was not in the system. She then complained about her supervisor who "called in and left her with all of the hard work, and that's why she should be here because I don't know anything about this reservation." She called the supervisor who didn't answer, but immediately called her back at which point she answered the phone, "WHAT?" Such disrespect, I couldn't believe what I was hearing and witnessing. Then, there was a discrepancy with the units we were supposed to receive and that took even more time. We then went back to the Lipan U-Haul, checked in on the keypad and entered into the storage building. We made our way to the 3rd floor to our units, which were "surprise!"...locked. Not one single time did anyone at U-Haul mention to us that we: #1 couldn't access the units without an employee unlocking said units, but #2 that we needed to purchase specific, round locks. Luckily, we were able to locate an employee, at which time, she told us that had she not been there, we would not have been able to access our units or unload our U-Haul which was due back that night. Also, there were people entering the building without checking-in on the keypad, specifically speaking about an older, homeless looking gentleman who entered the building through the automatic door while smoking a cigarette. Just letting you know. What a freaking' nightmare this was. By the end, everything worked out, but the experience itself, leaves a bad taste and a lot to be desired from a company such as U-Haul who should have all of this dialed in as it is WHAT YOU DO! There were some very serious missteps that could have been prevented throughout this whole entire process. What if we hadn't been the lucky people who just happened to figure all of this out before the building closed? Ya'll need to get it together.

Also, when checking in to gain access to my truck, the Uhaul app said my equipment wasn't available so I waited 45 minutes to talk to a representative who gave me a truck on empty and Uhaul attempted to charge me nearly $100 for the gas fees and returning the truck on empty. Absolutely terrible experience. I will make sure that people do not go to the site in the Highlands.

My unit wasn’t unlocked for me the day I moved in (even though my rent started that day) so I had to park my moving truck on the street and unload everything the next day. Even then, the unit wasn’t ready in the time frame they promised. However, Diego was very nice and was able to unlock it for me once I was there. Also, there is no way to get access codes other than going to the off site office. They don’t give these out over the phone even with multiple types of ID verification. There is also only one elevator in the building, and when I moved in another renter had totally blocked the elevator with their stuff and I had to wait an hour and a half to move my stuff in. I tried calling to see what could be done about this, and there was nothing they were willing to do. They wouldn’t even notify the location manager to inform the other renters of elevator courtesy. I will never get a storage unit from UHAUL again as my experience was less than satisfactory.

The freight elevator is not as convenient as a normal elevator. That inconvenience causes people to leave it open on the second and third floors rather than closing it for others to use. Forcing the use of multiple keypads multiple times creates multiple single points of contact that people have to use making it easy to pass germs or viruses. Giving out key cards would be better. Requiring people to go to the storage facility customer service center in person to close a unit at move-out is unnecessary. It should be able to be done online as well.

The doorways are not tall enough for all mattress sizes when using the mattress cart forcing you to move the mattress without a cart.

However they still had to send someone over to our location to unlock the unit for us. We waited for at least 30-45 minutes for someone to show up and take the lock off. It is frustrating to have everything booked well ahead of time and be told that we can handle everything from the uhaul app and then have to jump through hoop after hoop to actually get what we need. I sat on hold many different times in attempt to find someone to help once the app and online systems were not working. I will be incredibly hesitant to ever rent from uhaul again because of how difficult this experience was.

And having to sign in twice just to get inside was annoying. And was for nothing since it didn’t stop people wjo were not supposed to be inside from getting in. And apparently one of those someones tried to break into my storage unit and I was never notified. I had several issues and trying to reach a live person on the phone is nearly impossible. Why is there an office but no one working it. I hope that after this move I will never have to deal with U-haul ever again.
