This storage facility was climate controlled, but the HVAC system and the building in general just produced way too much dust on my enclosed storage unit. Every time I would visit the unit and touch boxes, my hands would be covered in dust and almost like a dark spot. Gross. At least the bathrooms are well-maintained, available at all times and with stocked soap dispensers and paper towels. The bathrooms were honestly the top shelf feature of this facility. The building was VERY poorly lit. I needed to use a flashlight every time I was in my storage unit. Couldn’t I get at least ONE fluorescent or LED light (which costs almost nothing to keep on) to illuminate the rear of my storage unit? It was always frustrating to come and go from the unit and I honestly started hating the experience of coming and going from the storage unit. There is a giant giant GIANT gas meter right where you could easily load your vehicle with items. Nope there’s a stupid gas meter there. The loading area is at some ridiculous angle that made backing up into the loading and unloading section very awkward and more difficult than was necessary to utilize. It’s probably because they want to crowd their entire parking area with rental UHauls instead of making it easier to load and unload your vehicle. Finally, THEIR ELECTRIC SLIDING DOOR IS CONSTANTLY BREAKING DOWN!!! Honestly, after writing out all of my complaints about this place… I will NEVER, EVER return. Goodbye and good riddance.
KETAN C | Overall ExperienceMy move in was absolutely awful, my code didn’t work and no employee was able to fix it. The code is still broken and the onsite employee did nothing, and the general manager Gavin did nothing to fix it. I will not be able to access my things next time I go unless an employee is on site. U-Haul will NEVER get another good word from me.

EUN S | First ImpressionsI’m using this Highlands U-haul storage facility mainly for location convenience, but there a couple of issues to point out. First, the loading dock area is several feet below the entrance and there is no ramp, so using a regular car or SUV is not practical. Second, one of the doors is loose/nearly broken and was actually left open when I first arrived. It seems to me that the security measures are lesser than other storage facilities I’ve used and it would be quite easy for anyone to enter the building if they really wanted. For example, the only time the keypad/code is required is when first entering the building. Other storage facilities have more points of security, such as also requiring the code to operate the elevator or access the stairs.

ANDREW H | First Impressionswhen first renting there were no carts a grimly couch that looked suspiciously bed bug ridden was left at the door. On most recent visit the office door was unlocked and unattended. when calling to cancel the rental they claimed it is an unattended unit. there’s an office with a door unlocked. who works there?! how much could an employee cost? this experience was the worst in decades of using U-Haul. Hope your extreme cost cutting measures offset the loss of business from loyal customers. Never again.

Elyjah D | Online Move InThe first time accessing my unit there was no one available in the office and the instructions were unclear so it led to a delayed entry for moving my things in. One of the times I visited there were no carts to move heavy things so that made it difficult. Otherwise, it got the job done for my storage needs and when the office person was there she was very nice.

KELLY S | Overall ExperienceThere were no carts other than the mattress cart. I have a bad knee and had to make multiple trips. Most carts are probably locked inside tenants’ units. The $15 fee isn’t enough to stop it. The “Go Green” pile is a disaster. It’s just an excuse to dump garbage. Let thrift stores handle that. Right now, it’s an old couch and some shirts no one would want. It attracts pests and looks terrible. No one was available to help. Everything is automated and there’s no humanity left. If you’re going to automate everything, automate the cart return system. Charge $15 an hour to anyone who keeps a cart locked up. Then maybe you can afford to staff the place.

Frankie C | Online Move InActually, I was lost because it was confusing to enter because of the two code entry access which I think is actually smart but I digress the groundskeeper like a four wheeler. I knew I needed help and walk me through it so please give that maintenance person a raise they are on it answered every question I had that young lady was so smart. I’m pretty sure that angry Chihuahua could break me in half though don’t underestimate her all of down. Denver is clearly scared of that place. I love the security.
