James BThe staff here were fairly professional and responsive to our requests for help with the auto transport. We were picking up the auto transport in a fairly heavy rainstorm so it looked decent (wet). However, we paid extra to have the staff load our car onto the transport and strap it down. On the 3rd day of a 5 day drive, the straps around the right front tire had come off. The ratcheting device for the straps was very hard to move, like calcified. After fighting with it for about 15 minutes, we were able to loosen it and then put the tire strap back around the front tire. We mentioned this at the drop off location (suggesting that it might need a little attention).

Obed SAssociate Malik W could care less I was stranded for 3 hours on the side of the road and only cared about closing the store instead of apologizing for renting me an unreliable van that ended up needing a new alternator. Had I not been able to get back to u-haul before 7 pm (I limped the old van in at 6:56) I would not have been able to get a replacement van and continue my move. A company that excels in customer service would apologize for the inconvenience and wait until I could get back to give me the keys for the replacement. Not have the mindset to lock the door at 7 and it’s my tough luck I was rented an unreliable van.
Christina KNeeding to checkout using the app was quite tedious and cumbersome. The pics I took kept getting deleted before I could take all of the pictures in a particular step if the app reloaded, so annoying and unnecessary. Checkout took over 15 minutes. Another customer parked ahead of me was also quite frustrated. The cab also smelled like cigarette smoke. Definitely moving on the cheap with no frills!

Giomar AI reserved a 5x8 trailer on 01MARCH2024 with a pickup date of 17MARCH. On 16MARCH a UHAUL rep called me and said that my trailer wasn't available and the closest trailer available 1.5 hours away or not available until later in the day which would not have worked for me. Luckily, the UHAUL rep found a larger trailer as a replacement for the same cost, however this type of problem has happened multiple times with UHAUL. I dislike UHAULs reservation process, it does not provide me with confidence that my reservation will be fulfilled. You need to improve this process, I dislike renting from you. Note: This comment applies to all UHAUL locations--not this particular one in Hillsboro--since this issue has occurred at different UHAUL facilities in California.
Ron PTrailer was dirty and covered in small rocks. Also the straps weren't maintained and extremely hard to use. The axle chains on the trailer were way too short to be useful and the employee who hooked it up to my truck put the safety chains on wrong and had them both going to the same eyelet on the hitch.

Denna LThe trailer was rusty, paint faded, the handle was missing making it difficult to open and close the rolling door. The kicker was that the door was left open, it was raining so the inside of the trailer was wet, it was full of leaves from the tree behind it. And it still had straw/hay from the last customer. First thing I had to do was sweep out the trailer, and brush the excess water out. I've usually had great experiences, the staff at this location are helpful and professional. But the state of this trailer was disappointing

When we had come back he was very unpleasant. Besides that check in and returning the truck was very easy on the app!

Nancy Mi have been transferred to different locations at the last moment 3 times. It was lot of hassle and tension. Also my trailer lost the indicator lights while i was driving in the highway and it was dark. this time it was really bad experience with u-haul. The person who did install the trailer was a new guy and probably he didnt do it correctly
ARJUN RWere told over phone that 2 10x20 climate controlled units were reserved for us. Confirmed 2 days prior to arriving with 2 26 foot UHaul trucks from Bend OR - 4 hours away over snowy mountain pass. Learned only. 10x20 and a 10x15 in outside units were reserved - not climate controlled. Ended up renting 3 units to accommodate our belongings. Getting through paperwork took almost 1 1/2 hours. Everyone friendly but seemed chaotic. Then found the two 10 x 15 units were filthy - not cleaned at all. One even had dead mouse in corner. Spoke to a manger before we left regarding my concerns.

Jerry GStarted with zero parking options. I found the trailer we were likely going to be assigned and backed my truck in front of it. I was by myself and went into office where I found an extremely slow line with about six people in front of me. I had a reservation for 9am and didn't get assistance until nearly 930am. I was next up and a staff person who turned out to be the manager came in asking who owned a black GMC. I acknowledged that I did and he said I had to move. I let him know that was the trailer I had reserved but he made me move anyway. I asked if I was going to lose my spot in line. The people in line with me said no. I moved my vehicle and went back to office. They assigned my trailer and yes, same one I had been parked in front of. Just ridiculous. Not to mention the trailer had clear evidence of previous use. There was construction debris pieces still in the trailer with nails/screws in some of the pieces. Don't worry, we cleaned it all out completely before we returned it. Clearly staff isn't checking the returned equipment before renting it out again. Lucky that the equipment we were hauling didn't end up with punctures in the tires. Looks like the manager needs to worry less about parking and more about his staff doing their job adequately. We'll be using a different location next time for sure.

MILDRED R | Overall ExperienceI had a very poor move out experience at this facility. First, I was notified 30 minutes prior to renting a truck at this facility that it would not be available. I had to drive 7 miles in the opposite direction to pick up the truck and then return to this facility to clean out my storage unit. This costed me time and money because of the extra mileage. Second, when I arrived at the facility, there were to trailers blocking access to my unit. When I asked an employee if he could help me move them, he refused at first. I explained that my truck would be blocking the alley and it would be very difficult to move large items out of the unit with those trailers in front. He then asked ME if I would be comfortable lifting and moving them. I told him I could attempt that if he was okay with the liability of me getting injured in the process. He finally agreed to walk out with a tool to move one trailer out of my way. Finally, and most importantly, we discovered our unit had been infested by rats. Some items shredded to pieces and feces and urine everywhere. We will have to have some pieces of furniture cleaned professionally due to health and safety concerns. We are planning a move to Colorado this summer and have decided that Uhaul is no longer a company we want to do business with due to repeating issues. I am hoping that you will take this review seriously and address the staff and cleanliness issues. Please know that your unit has costed us hundreds of dollars in damages.

We did get $50 off. And was told I would get some money back when we moved out, then was told no Uhaul don't give money back, I would have waited for the end of the month, I feel I have been on time with auto pay, and now Uhaul gets money for me moving out... I don't think that is right

This was the third issue I had with U-Haul while moving this weekend. Eventually the staff ended up giving two months free instead of the 1 month free I received with my truck to help make up the difference. However, we waited over an hour while they were trying to figure out what was available. I ended up in a 10x10x6, which was more expensive and smaller than the 10x8x9 I had reserved. I wouldn't recommend U-Haul in the future.

Nobody answers the phones and the poor staff are always trying to run around to try to keep up with whatever is happening. Consider better pay / incentives to hopefully have better staff morale and better work ethic. I loathe anytime I have to use uhaul because the staff are never on the same page between days or locations. I don't understand why I couldn't finish my rental online or over the phone even though my unit was empty and I had taken the lock.

There should be a number to call or a sign or something to contact whoever is working. I waited over 10 minutes, 4 other customers showed up behind me, one of them left. It took less than a minute for my checkout. If you created an easy checkout online or something that would be good.
