RESERVED an appliance hand truck during the reservation process , the lady said there are no reservations that they are “ first come first serve” and there were none. So if that’s the case why reserve one with the truck? Secondly our truck stunk of marajuana it was disgusting but my wife was upset enough so we got the truck and got the hell out of there. There was also ash residue in the door handle too.

Called the U-Haul at Deer Park in Newport News (on May 14th to reserve a 5X8 trailer for May17th. Spoke to male and specifically told him I needed to drop off the trailer at the West Point, VA U-hall location. (Reservation # 74285037) Upon arrival on May17th to pick up the trailer I was told the trailer had to be returned to the Newport News location as the trailer was already rented out for the next day to another costumer. I was offed a 6X12 trailer they said could be dropped off in West Point but the fee would be $170 vs the $70 the on line estimator gave me for the 5X8 to pick up in Newport News and drop off in West Point. Since I needed the trailer and I did not want to pay and additional $100 over the estimate I took the 5X8. I do not appreciate the bait -n- switch nor did I appreciate the additional 100 miles of driving (50 miles each way), half a tank of gas and almost 2 hours of my time to return the trailer to Newport News. So no, I will not be using the Newport News location again and no, I would not recommend it to family or friends.

there were marker and license lights out on the car carrier and chains were very greasy. The U-Haul tech was excellent!!

The out loud conversation that the female manager was holding on the speaker phone with another client was distracting. I'm trying to get instruction, pay my balance and continue my day, this woman held a whole conversation on speaker letting all the clients personal information out there for everyone to hear. Then at once point while the young man was talking to me she decided to talk to him. I kindly asked her to please respect my business handling. The conversation she wanted to have with him had nothing to do with the store, equipment or clients. It could have waited. She made my experience less then comfortable.

Stop lying about the mileage that people use!!!!!! I calculated the mileage with the slowest possible route and it was still only half of the total miles they charged me for. And they’re rude. When we came in the first time the associates carried on conversations with themselves as if they had no customers. And the same thing occurred when I came back in. Also, one of the associates looked like he was very sleepy or under the influence. I didn’t create a fuss because I just wanted to get out of there. But heads up, these scammers are not a great example of this company. I’ve loved before with the same amount of distance driven and never was overcharged or had severe overage on my mileage. I wish I would’ve took pictures but at this point I’m voicing the issue in case this may have happened to anyone else before.

0% on oil life, wrong tire pressure, kept switching to trailer mode. When counter guy found out I am a US Marine he told everyone to call me a Jarhead. I told everyone that is a good way to get into a fight.

NO CRUISE CONTROL, REALLY! Truck rented did no have cruise control. Do you know how much of a pain in the rear it is driving over 800 miles without cruise control? I will not rent a Uhual truck again.

The storage unit had rat dropping all over my things. There was previous water damage and when I questioned it, I was met with severe sarcasm stating "its just rain, that happens everywhere". The sarcasm was not needed. I will not recommend this storage unit

Well-stocked location, easy access and friendly staff, will definitely visit again. Of the several 15-foot trucks I’ve rented over the last year, this latest one was the best runner by far despite having the highest accumulated mileage.

inside of the truck was filthy. Caked dirt, sticky drink spills, big crack across the windshield. For almost $1000 rental the equipment could have been in better shape,

Jen was an absolute angel. I rented a 10ft right as a snow storm hit and it made moving almost impossible. Not only did she make sure my coverage for the truck was updated but she called me the next day and the day after to assure me that I would not be held liable for an extension. She was very sincere and really comforting through the snow storm.

Everyone was super nice and fun to do business with. On the other hand we went in thinking the cost was $19.99 plus insurance, totally $42.00 and it ended up $75.00 plus $20 for fuel replacement. Oh well! In the end it made our work easier to accomplish!

I reserved online and said I would pick up online. But I could not so I went to the location and they were open and went in to pick up my truck. The woman refused to check me in because I said I would check in online. After 45 minutes of me trying and her trying on my phone to check in another employee offered to check me in on the computer. This was insane. She said Feb 1 there was a policy change and I had to check in online even though I was standing at her counter. There were no other customers in the store when I arrived. Never again will I pay to be treated with such disrespect. I was paying 2 workers to help me move furniture while arguing with an employee to pick up my reserved truck. Insanity!!

The vehicle had lived a tough life. Adequate for our job, but not super clean nor in good shape: steering shook when braking, loose trim pieces, made much noise rolling down the road (especially over roads under construction, like the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel).

We’re not very helpful. The online price given is not what they gave me in person and they couldn’t provide an explanation. Did not assist with hookups and when asked how certain features on the trailer worked they couldn’t provide answers.

This was probably one of the least pleasurable experiences I've had with uhaul. To be short, customer service was not good. The young man that processed the rental was noticeably under the influence of some sort of drug or alcohol. The truck I rented had not been well maintained at all. It was an extremely bumpy ride (shocks appeared to be worn). Finally, I was quoted one price but then charged a lot more upon completion of the rental. I've personally never had a single complaint when renting from Uhaul, that I can recall, but I'll try my best to avoid this location going forward.

Steering wheel locked and unable to re-start engine. Phone assistance was poor. Referred only to online APP which I had fortunately paid $5 for roadside assistance; otherwise the cost of assistance would have been mine. Was advised that I would still be required to pay full cost of use of vehicle.

The staff acted clueless about there job they were not proficient at all and not friendly I felt more of a burden to them then a customer. At one point they even tried to pawn me off to another dealer that was further up the road the facility was also cramped and with a truck and trailer it was incredibly cramped in the parking lot I feel the space could have been used a lot better the uhaul up in evans mills NY where I picked up the trailer was much more pleasant to deal with. Thanks and I hope things improve with this site
