I was double charged for a rental...and I have four $1 charges that no one can explain from uhaul. Right after I use my card for the truck I did get my credit card was compromised. Not a happy camper at this point

After I rent a truck in the morning at 609 J Clyde Morris Blvd Newport News and when I come back to return the truck there (at 3:25 PM) where I had left my car; I found the store is closed and not even leaving the drop box (at 3:25 PM and the store is supposed to close at 5:00PM). I did call U-Haul and ask them what I should leave the truck key and the direct me to go to the store at 14861 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News with my own car and drop the key there. The store employees are so mean and once I told them the store at 609 J Clyde Morris Blvd Newport News is closed without drop box for the keys and I have been directed to leave the key at this store, they told me they cannot take the keys as you did not bring the truck to this store and it is my responsibility to bring the truck from the closed store location to their location and start treating me badly as if I did something wrong and it was my mistake U-Haul close the store where I suppose to drop the truck where I had rented. I through the key to them and left. It will be the last time I would deal with U-Haul ever.

Service was prompt and friendly. The cabin of the truck was dirty and the ashtray was full of cigarette ash.

The per mile fee is excessively high. Great service, but I will need to shop around before my next rental in a few weeks.

I had a reservation, but had to wait for 4 other customers to be served first. I know it's hard to staff because you never know when the busy times are going to occur, but perhaps an extra person on the weekend would be helpful. The lady who served me was pleasant and efficient and the gentleman running around getting vehicles for everyone was working diligently. The vehicle was well maintained and clean. Overall, it was a very good experience. When I drove more miles than I estimated, they revised my contract for the lowest rate without my having to ask. I will use them again.

I would recommend ONLY after overcoming a problem. Was verbally told TUE by Jake that we could return a little late (I stated 6:30 and got a nod). Contract had RETURN by 5:45 and that trailer had been CHECKED OUT at 6:18. I returned it at 6:02 and was "greeted" with a 3 day charge. I was very upset and it wasn't til my son explained more clearly the situation that Nina removed the third day charge. It states the RETURN by on the contract, but why is that? There shouldn't be 2 conflicting times on the contract. Luckily common sense prevailed and I am once again a happy U-Haul customer...Steve Mehr

Let the customer know when they are taking 100.00 from their account and have a legitimate reason as to why

The crew at this location did a great job to support my requirements. Herbert was especially supportive hooking up the rental trailer and unhooking it from my vehicle when I returned. Very professional!

The U-Haul personnel are not good business representatives for the entire company because they do not fully inform customers about their services and policies. It is not good business for this company to have a policy not to refund customers for unused days of their equipment. I went into this location to rent a truck for a one way move from Newport News, VA to Fredericksburg, VA. I wanted to rent the equipment for 2 days, but the U-Haul employees recommended I take 3 days just in case I do not complete my move by the time they close on the 2nd day. At NO TIME did any of their employees tell me that I will not receive a refund if I do not use that 3rd day. I would have done better keeping my 2 days and if I did not make the turn-in time, I would have just paid for another day. This would have been justified because it would have been on my judgement. For a U-Haul employee to make recommendations without posing the financial risk towards the customer is ill-will and seems as if the company allows them to do this to gain extra funds from customers. I am currently consulting a law firm to pursue a class-action lawsuit for ill business practices on this location and U-Haul as a company if this issue cannot be resolved justly. U-Haul employees have no right to make such recommendations knowing the company policies say there is no reimbursement for unused days and the customer is unknowing about this policy. I will also pursue complaints against U-Haul with the Bureau of Consumer Protection, the Federal Trade Commission, The Securities Exchange Commission, and the State of Virginia. Your company policy not to reimburse customers for unused days is highway robbery and illegal business practice. Other type of rental companies do not operate with this type of policy because they know it is not benefiting their customers to provide recommendations or repeat business; especially when their representatives (their employees) purposely do not inform customers. Hopefully, U-Haul has someone in their organization to use their smart business knowledge and just refund me my unused days because they are not losing any money for taking care of this customer.
