The lineup was a bit long, but there were only two representatives working. There was a third workstation that could have been open.

Quelques éléments moins appréciés : vous faites la publication d'un service d'assurance sur votre site Web, et une de vos représentantes au téléphone m'a confirmé que je pouvais en faire l'achat sur place mais lorsque je suis arrivée, on m'a informé qu'il n'était pas possible. Cette désinformation nous a causé des soucis, surtout que notre agence d'assurance n'était plus ouvert par le temps que nous avons appris cela. Votre logiciel est ultra lent et a rendu le processus vraiment long (heureusement que votre équipe est patiente et amicale), et le fait que vous forcez tous les locateurs à faire l'achat d'un cadenas spécifique pour l'utilisation de vos unités est un peu une arnaque... pourquoi ne pas offrir le cadenas avec l'unité à ce moment-là?

JEAN Gthis location was fine, but I made a ''guaranteed'' reservation in Drummondville. They told me less than 24h before the pick up time that the only truck available was in Montreal, . I called to change the pick up time, and when I went in Montreal on the agreed time, the truck was not available, I had to sleep somewhere and come back in the morning. In the morning, they had no dolly even though it was in the reservation, so I had to go to another place to get one. Overall a very poor experience, they only game me extra mile, no gas money, no other compensation. would not recommend uhaul, try to avoid it if you can because the reservation you made could be anywhere, its not at the place you select =.
CHARLES-ETIENNE BI sent an email to the manager on May 2 and again on May 5 since I got no response. As I am writing still no response. When I moved out, I found my belongings and furniture covered in rodent feces, which is completely unacceptable. I vacated the units on May 2nd and I was charged earlier that morning for May’s storage. Given the unsanitary condition of the units and the fact that I no longer occupy the space, I am requesting a full refund for the May storage fee. Please confirm when I can expect the reimbursement.

After waiting for about 2 minutes I asked if they could help me and that I was there to pick up my trailer that is reserved online. They lady said his colleague will be back and continue on her phone. 5 minutes after another client came in she said I can help you! Really!!!
MARLON CMaintain tires better. Don’t give trailer to clients with very old and worn out tires. I’m extremely unhappy with getting a flat tire 30 minutes into my 37 hour drive. It became extremely stressful for me my wife and had our two kids in car. We decided to pay driver of vehicle to replace flat to take away two bed sets and some heavy boxes (with a value close to 1000$) we wanted to make sure there would be no more issues for the rest of the 36 hour drive. Even though we were not over weight capacity. Then we were extremely stressed and paranoid the rest of the drive. It was not a good experience at all. It ended up costing us more overall having to get rid of things and stressing. The tire that popped looked extremely warm out and so was the other one in front of it. But the driver said he could only change one of the two bad ones(the one that popped). Not a good experience with wife and kids to get a flat tire and stress about it all. Could have turned out much worse. But still extremely unhappy with the turnout.

Hymus does not exist any Uhaul dealer business and badly insist to leave there the trailer, by saying I don’t have right to change address and drop off to other point Uhaul. Which make customer to waste time driving from one address to another. Not competent. One of my friend had same experience lately. Please do not give this address for dropping off or pickup to the customers, because there are no uhaul dealer there!.

JONATHAN LThe roof of my truck was leaking in the rain, we didnt notice until the truck was full. We had to remove and dry the items that got wet which was a big hassle and then return the truck. It was leaking in 2 areas.

SYLVAIN HI was able to store my furniture in one of their storage units. It was clean and proper. Since I rented one of their trucks they gave me a storage unit for one month free. I didn’t need the storage unit for long maybe three weeks but I didn’t have to pay any for it. Will definitely recommend.

JENSEN PObjet: Problème sanitaire préoccupant dans le bâtiment U-Haul au 2100 rue Norman, Montréal. Bonjour, Je suis extrêmement préoccupée par l’hygiène et la salubrité de votre établissement. En vidant mon espace d’entreposage (#2261) hier, j’ai découvert une quantité inquiétante d’excréments de souris sur le plancher. J’en ai également trouvé dans les corridors avoisinants ainsi que dans mon autre unité de rangement. Cliente depuis 2019, je songe sérieusement à trouver un autre endroit pour entreposer mes biens, car la situation actuelle met ma santé en danger. Bien qu’Ariel, à l’administration, fasse de son mieux pour maintenir la propreté, il est évident que le bâtiment manque cruellement d’entretien et de personnel dédié à cette tâche. J’ai pu le constater moi-même : • La salle de toilette était complètement dépourvue de papier hygiénique, de savon et d’essuie-mains. De plus, l’évier, les murs et la porte étaient sales. • Les planchers des espaces communs sont poussiéreux et mal entretenus. • Il fait trop chaud à l’intérieur, et surtout, la ventilation est insuffisante. À ce sujet, pouvez-vous me préciser la date du dernier remplacement des filtres de ventilation ? Enfin, avez-vous conscience des risques sanitaires liés à la présence de souris dans le bâtiment ? Si elles sont porteuses de virus, cela peut avoir des conséquences graves, voire fatales. Si je tombe malade, il est évident que je tiendrai votre mauvaise gestion sanitaire pour responsable. So we must be doing something wrong, if I have time I'll stop by the office. If I do then I will take the time to complain about the loud alarm. Your note about contacting the facility before leaving a review... Maybe get staff to get it right the first time?
JILL R | First ImpressionsWhat you offer your clients, write it down on the reservation form not just lip service. I went there on Mar 12/25 specifically to rent a 8by10 unit, they were all rented. I was offered a 10 by 10 on ground level, I agreed to take it. Then I asked to rent a truck also about a 10by10. I was told if I rent the truck I would get 1 mth free at the rental unit, I said great I’ll take it but I only need them both for Saturday Mar 15, no problem. I returned on Saturday with my reservation papers only to be informed that the person only reserved the truck and nothing was written about the rental unit what I needed in the first place. The new guy was rude and arrogant when I tried explaining he even said he couldn’t do anything about it. I asked him to contact the owner cause she was in when I was there she actually offered it to me. Make a long story short. Make sure everything you discussed or want is down on the contract. This was my first time there renting and you think they know their stuff because you’re not sure what is expected. When you go back it’s different people who are behind the counter and they don’t know what was agreed on that’s when the problems becomes a big deal. Just get everything in writing before you walk out of there!!!!

I know it is difficult to clean outside in winter but I think effort should be made to clean the trailer when returned in this condition.

ANDRES MWasn't a big deal, but there were crumbs under the seat, the truck is clearly a bit older as the steering wheel was a little deteriorated. Otherwise fine. Only reason i wouldn't recommend this location to a friend is because it's a lot further than other locations closer to us in the city.
DEREK SI made a reservation at the Irwin location. The day before, I got a call asking if I could switch to the Montreal-Toronto location. When I showed up, there was no truck for me. The manager (Ray) showed me her computer where my name was listed with no truck associated - an "overbook". There were three other people there at the time same, also waiting on trucks that did not exist or had not been returned yet. I called around until I finally found a dealer with a truck for me (Norman St. location), and when I showed up it was in fact a 20ft truck when I had asked for a 10ft. This requires a licence class that I don't have, but I was still allowed to rent it. I'm overjoyed I was able to get a truck when I needed it, but this process was incredibly dysfunctional. Please connect with the folks running U-Haul in Ottawa because they've figured it out.

YVON CTry listening to customers preferences when renting your equipements, in my personal experience your staff charged me your 16$ coverage by force and made it look like a typo from the computer, this is unprofessional and disgraceful for a reputable rental company.

KAMEL AI was charged for gas that I filled up and left exactly as it was given to me. I called the ujaul offices and made an investigation. Few weeks ago I Rented the same truck and was told the gas was at 1/4 and it was much less luckily I saw it and made them redo the contract. This time I didn’t check and Now I’m being charged $88 for gas that I have receipts for and have proof and a witness. I get that is how they make money but it’s dishonest. I will not drop this case.

J'avais demandé un 10x15 un premier niveau alors que l'on m'a dit que. était au 2e et que j'avais bcp d'article lourd alors on m'a donné 2 petits entrepôt au 1er, ce qui est peu pratique; en plus demandé devoir acheter 2 cadenas. je n'ai eu aucun encadrement et aide en ce qui concerne la sortie par les portes de garages; on m'a dit que c'était automatique alors que d'aucune façon on m'a expliqué ou aide. nous avons donc trouvé un bouton pour ouvrir la porte car aucun membre du personnel n'était présent dans l'endroit de déchargement, même à l'interphone. finalement la porte ouverte, la lumière passe au vert mais le haut du camion à accrocher la porte de garage. J'ai demandé alors d'utiliser la garage que j'avais pris lors location du camion. Personne ne m'a dit expliquer cette garantie et ce que cela comprenait alors qu'on m'a dit que tout était compris et ma stupéfaction quand l'employé mais pas les acceochagrs par le haut du camion ne le sont pas. Sheldon A | Overall ExperienceI was charged repeatedly for « not paying on time » while it was your system or your employee not registering my card for automatic payments, as I asked them to. In the meantime, I received at least one letter of wrongful payment. It was very difficult to get refunded, I tried calling and was told that I had to go directly in person, which took time. It also happened once that I came all the way to my locker (that I previously asked to be automatically charged for), and finding it blocked. Mind you it takes me 40 minutes with the traffic to go back home. I was not accommodated for this mistake that wasn’t mine or offered any kind of apology. To pay for a product and then not get access to it is inconsiderate to your customers, especially considering the price you ask for. Finally, there was a ton of mouse excrement everywhere in my locker, I understand its difficult to control but it was a lot. Please take into consideration that the locker was my deceased mother’s and all of this added a lot of stress in an already very difficult situation.

Initially, I had to change units because the first one was infested with mice excrements. Unfortunately, the second unit was even worse, as it was also contaminated, and I later discovered that mice had started chewing through my boxes. What is most disappointing is that U-Haul failed to inform me about the severity of this issue. As a loyal customer who has consistently made on-time payments for the past two years, I find this situation completely unacceptable. I have requested a refund multiple times and provided photographic evidence of the condition of the storage unit. However, I am still waiting for a response. AVOID this place at all costs !! Infested with mice.

The staff has no respect at all and makes you feel like you are the idiot when you ask simple question and ask for help as their system is not working properly; our access card was denied and the guy told us it was our fault and he couldn’t do anything to help out. Honestly, I’ve never experienced bad service like that and I won’t be using the company anymore.

lynn g | Overall Experiencedespite the facility being fairly clean and maintained, there is a mice problem and we recommend that if a unit is rented out longer than a few months, it should be mandatory that the mouse traps be changed at least once every 3 months, that may help reduce the mouse problems the facility has. an email/text or letter by mail could be sent to the renter letting them know their locker needs a new trap and they need to be present. personally i would prefer to have to show up at the locker once a quarter to do this than to lose my belongings because mice got inside and peed/pooped on my things.

I have noticed in the past year that the mouse/ rat problem has gotten much worse. a normal commercial/industrial building of this type always has rodents but recently they have gotten out of control. I found a dead mouse in my locker and huge amount of droppings. I know that the other clients around my locker are storing items that attract them and smell very bad. U haul should put a clause into the lease permitting. Access to any locker that is suspect of containing items that would attract rodents. I brought it to the attention several times to an employee that there was a very bad smell. They said that they could not do anything about it because they can’t open the locker. The solution was to install a air freshener to mask the order of rotting food.

It is for this reason that I will not be using this facility again and will not be recommending it to others.

This left me waiting for a good solid 10 or more minutes as the customer being helped was having issues with car compatibility. There were 2 other customers behind me who also looked impatient. The facility is very clean and easy to move the dollies in unlike previous places I've gone to who had floors of carpets this often made it harder using the dollies but here the floors are well taken care of and it slides well for an easy move. I give this 4 stars because although it was a wait the staff was friendly and the move to the storage went really well and was done in a matter of minutes once we had the dollies loaded and ready to go. I also love that they give you a map to locate your u it easier as sometimes i can forget directions.

With all my storage I never knew this was on the floor of my unit until I moved out. I simply suggest to others to ensure to wrap all materials (fabrics and leathers) in plastic and to put belongings in plastic bins with well sealed lids instead of using paper boxes, to avoid any moths or rodent to access their belongings.

Most of our stuff was boxed but as the upholstered furniture and the mattresses had not been wrapped in plastic it was quite gross to see the mouse droppings (and there would also be accompanying urine) everywhere. The building is immaculate when you come in but mice can and do get into the individual units.

I asked for help regarding my access code for building. A lady had very rude tone and bad attitude from start and didnt listen anything i said. I tried to show her my reservation number, gave her locker number and tried show email confirming my locker with payment. She didn’t listen to a single detail i tried to give her to pull my account on her computer. She simply ignored anything i was saying. Instead she tried to book me second locker at more price, without informing me. Finally when she gave me new locker, i asked how much it costs, she told me $80. I asked her why is she booking me second locker, i told her i will not take and to cancel it. She gave me sign that she did me a favour, then a gentleman next to her came in, she explained him, her so much favour and steps she took to book a rental. I showed him my email confirmation, and that guy pulled my account and locker from her computer right away. If that guy wouldnt had shown up i would have spent another 30 min and still not get this solved. I guess this what happen when service desk helper think customers are idiots and they dont know anything. I hope i never have to see her for help. As i dont know her name, she weighs around 170 pounds or more, long black nail around 5 cm, non smiling face. Her shift timing 1am to noon, date 24 January 2022. Another piece of advise to her, dont take your personal calls on job hiding small Bluetooths in ear and covering with caps, please wear facemask because its safe.

Pourquoi ne pas signifier au client (à l’avance) qu’il a perdu sa place afin qu’il puisse trouver une autre solution d’entreposage? Arrivés au 2 e endroit, cela a prit un temps fou à se faire servir et avoir un entrepôt qui était complètement sale à notre arrivée (jus, roches, etc.). Lorsque je les ai appelé, ils m’ont dit que les gens qui font le ménage ne travaillent pas la fin de semaine. La dame m’a dit qu’elle peut me donner un balais. J’ai dû insister pour qu’elle envoie quelqu’un. Il a rapidement passé le balais et la mope. Il est à noter que j’avais 3 déménageurs d’engagés à 150$/h qui ont dû attendre en tout et pour tout entre une heure à une heure et demie en raison des délais occasionnés par U-haul. Cela est extrêmement mal organisé et malpropre (la toilette était insalubre et nous sommes en pleine éclosion de Covid). Je suis extrêmement déçue de mon expérience

Jean-Marc, à qui j'ai parlé, m'assure que ma réservation me sera remboursée le lendemain. * J'arrive sur les lieux, les deux employés toujours présent à l'extérieur répondent uniquement à mes questions par "c'est fermé, Jean-Marc fait dire que c'est fermé". * J'insiste pour avoir une réponse plus détaillée au moins minimale sur comment accéder à l'entrepôt ou d'aller chercher Jean-Marc puisque je lui ai déjà parlé : l'employé va dans le commerce et ne sort plus. * J'entre dans le commerce par la porte de garage ouverte et débarrée, le troisième employé qui était toujours présent (Jean-Marc) m'accueille par "C'est fermé, you're trespassing" Je lui explique que j'ai bien compris et je veux juste savoir où entré pour l'entreposage, il insiste et répète sans répondre "you're trespassing on est fermé" J'ai beau voir dépensé 400$ chez U-Haul aujourd'hui, le manager, Jean-Marc a eu le culot d'ajouter "si on était pas là t'aurais dû t'arrranger. Fait comme si on était pas là" plutôt que de prendre le 30 secondes pour m'expliquer la marche à suivre et me donner une expérience wow. * J'accède finalement à l'entrepôt par le côté, j'essaie de réserver en ligne pendant 30 minutes. Je fini par réussir à réserver un entrepôt en ligne non sans problèmes. * L'entrepôt que j'ai pu louer s'avère plus petit que celui que j'avais réservé et chaque fois qu'on ouvre la porte, l'alarme sonne. J'ai encore de l'acouphène dû à l'alarme. Le Call-Center à qui j'ai parlé ne pouvait pas m'aider par rapport à l'alarme. * L'application ne m'as jamais permis de faire le drop off du camion en self-service. J'ai pourtant essayé au moins 3 fois impossible. * Je n'ai pas eu le remboursement du dépôt que vous m'avez chargé puisque je payais par débit le camion. DE CES FAITS 1) Je veux le remboursement intégral du dépôt qui m'a été chargé sur ma débit à Québec pour le camion. 2) Le remboursement intégral de mon espace de location loué à défaut d'avoir accès à celui gratuitement offert avec le camion. 3) Ne pas être chargé pour le drop off de la clé sans l'application, ça ne marchait pas. 4) La location d'un camion U-Haul à vos frais pour me permettre de déplacer les meubles que j'ai dû ramener à mon point de départ dans le CX-5 de mon helper. (il ne sera plus disponible et la dimension de l'espace de stockage choisi aurait permis normalement de les accueillir sans problèmes.) 5) Des excuses formelles pour le dérangement avec votre boss en CC de ce courriel. I went to pay it during my break at work, and when I went back about a week later to get something the lock was still on. I had to go back to the office and ask them to remove it. They had to check the file to ensue I wasn’t lying, then I waited 15 minutes for them to come. The guy that came was nice, but was not wearing a face mask. I did not feel like a valued customer.

When clearing our belongings, unfortunately we discovered some items that were eaten/ruined by mice. Our couch had holes in it from mice and was covered in droppings (it was covered by plastic but they chewed through that as well). The U-Haul staff reassured us right away that we would get reimbursed for this. However, to this day, we have received no response or follow-up on our claim for reimbursement. We will likely have to continue pressing the issue in order to get any resolution, which is very disappointing. We paid over $5K in our time of having our belongings in storage - the least they could do is make sure we receive appropriate compensation for ruining important furniture.

PLUS, central does not give accurate information. And / or the information does not get relayed to Lachine. I had lost the keys to the storage lock, I called and called to speak to Lachine, once again, they didn't pick up. Central lady said that each location was equipped with the tools to break the lock - which turns out (as I had a team of 3 movers on the clock, just waiting) they did not, and mentioned it was against UHaul policy. I had to call for an emergency service, which cost me $275, for a locksmith to come and break the lock. I am extremely disappointed with UHaul in this regard.

But it appears no one called. When I presented myself to the office, I faced a young man that did not care at all about my case and just repeated like a parrot : we do not have unit left sir, it works like this in u haul. Without even trying to understand my situation, not listening and not proposing any solution. He clearly did not care and is not suit for working in customer service. I have noted down his full name and send a report to the complaint section. I’ll let know everywhere how I was treated at the office.
