The truck was in semi poor condition, 150k+ miles showed. The door trim insulation was damaged the vents were not working and the truck was super loud. Employees were fine but not friendly.

BRIAN Au-haul did not have the truck at the pickup location, and it did not have drop off at my location, sugggested new locations for both pick up and drop off more than 10 mile away and then charged me for the extra mileage that u-haul itself created. this has to be corrected

MARY KMy family and I have been using U-Haul for over 10+ yrs. When I initially called customer service (Kate-Lynn) to put in a reservation for a truck, I told the representative it was for a 1 bedroom. I expected a 15-foot truck instead I was given a 10-foot truck which does not have a ramp. The manager at the pick-up location mentioned the 10-foot truck was new. The inside of the truck was made different. My prior experience with a 15-foot truck, the seat went all the way across but not in the 10-foot truck. Due to the gap between the seats, my disabled mother was very uncomfortable, and it made it an inconvenience experience to assist her during travel. Additionally, in the 15-foot truck it was easier for my mother to hold onto something to stand but not in the 10-foot truck. Overall, our experience was lousy. I did attempt to get a 15-foot truck but there was nothing available close to my location.

My son picked up the truck, same thing, the guy who assisted him sucks, rude and unprofessional!!! My son in law dropped off the truck and same thing,,the person who assisted him was rude, professional and customer service sucked!!! Overall, these 3 diff people needs some attitude adjustment, needs to get re-train on how to provide good customer service and needs to be professional.. we are paying customers therefore we need to be treated right, and with respect!!!!!! Unprofessional all around, very rude and very poor customer service!!!!
RAMIEL OThe trailer was fantastic and completely met my expectations. My ball hitch is very low, so I had trouble keeping the safety chain from dragging when the trailer was fully loaded. I will see if I can reconfigure the hitch to make it higher.

LORENA SI know this part of Oakland and was a tad leery going there, however I'm happy to say I felt safe and the customer service by every body (but especially Nadia) was top notch. Professional, friendly and quick. The vehicle was really clean. We had a check engine light come, but Nadia came right out, diagnosed it, said we could still drive it, and noted it on our account as part of the pre check. Then she helped w the pictures. We had no problem w the vehicle and this part of our move was the smoothest, and least expensive! I would use this location and uhaul again if needed without hesitation

ALEXANDER CPulled into the return lane and was disconnecting the trailer when a disheveled loud rude woman approached me an declared I was inappropriately returning the trailer. The entrance lane is signed and striped and she was directing rentals out the gate. I disconnected the very small 4x7 trailer trailer and walked it into the spot she requested. She wanted me to back it in with my car which was much more dangerous than walking it in. I had the trailer for a week and was comfortable with it. Suggest you remove this person from contact with customers or provide training so she can more effectively, and less rudely, communicate. Otherwise everyone else was great. The trailer was perfect in size and function. Many thanks.

CHARLES GDon’t rent from Richmond location or any other small outlet. Twice u-haul didn’t deliver what I reserved. And I reserved, both times, well in advance. Because I was moving from Northern California to Los Angeles. And I needed exactly what I had reserved. But, both times I received a late, evening before, my scheduled pick-up date; that what I reserved was not available at my preferred location. Instead I could travel 50 miles to pick- up a compatible truck but, not what I needed for the move. So, yeah u-haul screwed me!!! Because I was mislead I had to make multiple trips to complete my move. And, this is a practice from u-haul, you reserve - they don’t have what you need on the day you need it but, they have your money and have you over a barrel so you basically have to take what they give you because you don’t have any other choice. And their customer relations literally ‘sucks’ !! I had one agent compare my dilemma, of not getting what I reserved to their search for Section 8 Housing. Yeah.. In the event I have to do this again I’m really going to search for an alternative .
MARTIN FThe back left tail light wasn't working and we had issues at every gas station we stopped at with the gas pump. None of them could latch to the cap properly and kept popping, meaning it took us about three times as long to pump gas, which was a pain in the rear and annoying as heck.

EMMETT WThe guy working the front with the long hair was one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. Please consider at the very least, suspending him. He allowed two men to film me when I was asking about my reservation. He refused to give me a truck when I had made a reservation because I made it too last minute (bc the van assigned to me at the Webster 76 location wasn’t returned on time, and there were no other vans available, so I made a reservation at the U-Haul of Oakland bc the app indicated there was a vehicle AVAILABLE TO RENT AT 5:30). He will tell u that I was an unruly customer, but i was simply asking him why he was denying me a van when I had made a reservation in a stern tone (was not yelling), and a customer behind me got annoyed because I was trying to explain the situation to him (spent maybe 3 minutes at the counter before the person behind me rudely told me to move on and there was nothing he could do for me). The customer started swearing at me under his breath, so I told him once to “stay out of the situation if it didn’t concern him,” and then told him to “shut up” after he continued to do so. The customer then started to record me, and refused to put his phone down. My friend called the U-Haul at Oakland location about 5 minutes later, and asked if there was a truck available for her to book immediately. He lied, and said there were trucks AVAILABLE. She then called him out for calling, and he changed his story and said he said that bc people who reserved the vans were no shows, which is why he said that. Why deny me a van when he was told her there weee vans available? The whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. He never apologized, and refused to recognize his bad customer service. I have rarely met a person so incompetent at his job.

Edward TInternational Blvd. In Oakland is the heart of gang land. Having to dodge the homeless, and "day workers" hassling you for their "help" is not conducive to a great experience. However, once inside, employees are nice, and helpful.

He was assisting another customer with putting some boxes in their car, a courtesy I rarely see anymore. When he helped me he was very friendly, casual yet professional and accommodating. I have rented here before and after my experience would rent here again for sure. A knowledgeable and pleasant staff makes all the difference. five stars from me.
