Aggressive non-uhaul employees wandering freely on u-haul site property where they verbally engage customers would be likely to intimidate some users.

I rented a trailer on Saturday, Jan 13th. and the reservation was 20264063, I went to the location and they didn’t have a trailer. When the employee let me know the trailer was not there he just gave me a number to call to figure it out. I called his manager they let me know there were no trailers available. I went back to the employee and asked him for more assistance he said to drive to another location a mile down the street. I went there and they didn’t not have anything available. I went back to the original location and asked for a truck instead and he said I can come back at 2. I already had movers scheduled and it was already 40 min past my reservation time. I let the employee know I had to get a uhaul asap and he got me a truck at another location 10 miles away on International. I got a large truck, that I didn’t need and ended up paying a lot more because the reservation was to bring the truck back to the International location, but I wanted to drop it off at a difficult location than where I picked it up, but he reserved it for the same location so I had to pay even more. When it was all done I ended up paying a lot more and being almost 2 hours behind schedule. It was a terrible experience and I am very disappointed. I will never recommend uhaul. I had to pay my movers more for their extra time. I should be give a credit for having to pay for the truck instead the trailer that I reserved. Along with the different drop off location I would appreciate some sort of compensation.

I was pleasantly surprised by what an amazing experience I had after reading some questionable reviews. The staff on both days I went there was helpful/informative. They accommodated a last minute truck size change. The truck itself was spotless and pleasantly smelled of mopping solution which is an indicator of how clean it was. Check out was swift/my truck was waiting and ready for in the front. I had a stellar experience.

Dont randomly change the pickup location. If you have 24H to notify me that the location has changed, you have 24 hours to move a truck to my desired location. Had to walk significantly farther and buy a rapid transit pass whereas my original location was very close.



Multiple people don’t working at the location yet they were all focused on one customer. I had to wait 10+ minutes before they finally said oh OK you can come over here and will help you. Sort of a scary location with the people hanging out in the parking lot a costing us when we arrived

We made our reservation 2 weeks prior the pick up date. We ordered 26 foot track. But we got 20 foot track because 26 foot track was not available!!! Terrible service! We ordered 4 dozen of blankets - Received 36 blankets and half of them were wet. It was not acceptable! Moving is no fun and it makes your life even harder when U-Haul is not reliable.

I thought the whole experience was easy and went smooth. I was hesitant to use your company as I have had bad experiences in the past especially with how long it takes to get through the paper work to rent the vehicle. I did set up my reservation online which saved time and luckily there were no other customers when I showed up but the agent was very friendly and we go through the process very quickly. My only two concerns, the van was a bit dirty, the steering wheel was sticky and the interior of the windshield was dirty. I am somewhat ok with this as it is a work van but it would be nice to have a cleaner vehicle. second, the charge for mileage. It would be nice if the fee were less. I use your service as it is supposed to be cost effective but the mileage costs can rack up. Overall it was a good experience and your crew should be commended for being professional and nice to work with.

Everything as reserved. Truck was fine - stained seats, but what can you expect. What stood out about this experience was the store crew. Xmas eve on International Blvd in Oakland - wasn't sure what to expect. Each and every one was attentive and delightful, and sincerely so. This is an outstanding crew. Wouldn't get this at the Post Office, that's for sure. Kudos to the kids at 5330 Int"l U-Haul. You guys are why this company continues to succeed.

The trailer was incorrect and was missing a tie down latch in one corner. When I mentioned this, it was ignored. Very unhelpful. I had already had to stand in line 3 times because of miscommunication by staff, so decided to improvise with tying my motorcycle down.

It was a pretty awful experience. I set my pick up location in Alameda, which was confirmed. I picked that location because it was within walking distance to my home, and we were moving from Alameda to Alameda. They didn't have the vehicle so I had to go to a different location, so the move was an hour+ late before we even got started. The location it self was in a not so nice part of Oakland, so just walking to the store I was shouted at pretty aggressively by people who were looking for work. To to it all off, because we were running late, and didn't have time to try and fill up gas before the daylight ran out, I was charged for over 5 gallons of gas, after going 11 miles. Does that seem right? Do uhauls run 2mpg in the city?
