The truck I had has a fair number of miles on it, the steering should be services. There is a lot of play in the steering wheel, someone not used to driving that type of truck might run the risk of losing control of the vehicle.
Dan MNear impossible to get into. All but one of their entrances were blocked by other rentals/returns. Getting to the other entraces was not simple either.

The worker at no fault of his would not rent me a trailer even tho my vehicle had the rating to pull it the computer would not allow him to rent it out. Forcing me to get a truck I dident need. Next time I will be renting a trailer off of fb market place and will pass on uhaul

Joe SThe steering wheel was dusty and dirty, and the oil change light was on. The vehicle ran very poorly—it was loud, slow to pick up speed, and overall difficult to drive. I have driven several other U-Hauls, and this was not an issue with those vehicles, so this experience stood out. The staff, however, was friendly and great to work with. Unfortunately, the condition of the vehicle left much to be desired.

Debra BThe online check-in wasn't working, and it took forever to check in. After a very frustrating check in, I finally got to go to my truck and the battery was dead...it didn't start. I had to go into the building and wait to get switched to another truck. I finally got the other truck and it started fine, but the check engine light was on and that worried me, but after an hour delay in my move I decided to take my chances. Also, the parking lot is WAY too full for anyone to get in with their car let alone try to maneuver around with a huge truck that someone isn't used to driving. I will not be using this location again.

MARK LThe issue is that they asked me to pull a trailer for them to a Jackson location. There was an issue with the way that was entered in to the computer. Even after finally picking up the trailer, I was receiving texts about picking up the trailer. Even after dropping said trailer off, I received texts and emails about picking up the trailer. I have yet to receive any of the agreed discounts from doing the company a favor. Going forward I will not be participating in a ' redistribution program'.

JIM JSome mechanical issue with tires or alignment (?) made the truck bump and jump once we reached 52mph!!! We calculated mileage over the 800 mile trip from Michigan to Georgia, and we only got 6-7mpg!!!!! Fuel cost us about $511 for the whole trip… TERRIBLE. This is totally unacceptable. I would like a manager to contact me about this. Very upset about this… somebody should step up and make it right!!!
MATTHEW MWas given a truck with a flat tire and gas wasn’t full at all due to tire psi being so low and having to keep putting air in it until roadside assistance arrived reasons why my mileage was high I used 30 miles and in reality it was about 20 I used I had to go under the speed limit so I won’t get a flat driving over bumpy roads

Kathy CThe overall process online and the app was user friendly. It was helpful to be able to get the truck and drop off the truck on our own time, because we do not have normal schedules. The truck was clean with no issues. It was easy to add other drivers under the account, which was really helpful. When we went to pick up the truck, the intake process on the app was straightforward. I had a minor setback with the personal verification, only because it was during the day and needed someone who could answer their phone at work. When we were instructed to go inside for the keys it said to go to the "side counter". There wasn't any kind of indication as to what this side counter was, and the employee was busy at the time so there we had to wait about 15 minutes, which wasn't the issue. It was my first time ever renting a moving truck, so I was just confused at the time. But I showed him my phone and got the keys. As a first timer, I wish I would have known the next steps upon receiving the keys of taking pictures of the truck before leaving the lot. I rented the truck, but my boyfriend was driving the truck. Luckily, I double checked the app because all the pictures needed to be taken from the app and couldn't be uploaded. The lot for this location is SO SMALL. The location being right off of Gratiot with an exit ramp from I-94 can become super congested with traffic. When we first got the truck, the return line was very long. The only reason I was able to pull my jeep into the parking lot was because one of the returned trucks had moved. I wouldn't blame it on the employees intake process at all. The lot is simply way too small. Expanding the lot, making the customer parking (by car) would make it so much safer.
Stephanie WDisclaimer, this comment DOES NOT just apply to this location. I get a notification/text to take pictures of the vehicle rented but I do not notice the notification TILL after I leave the lot when I am at home or traveling to my destination. I HIGHLY recommend that the pictures of the vehicle be taken by the rental place as it is being rented, BY the associate. Or the customer be notified, by the associate, to take pictures before the customer leaves the lot.
BRUCE JWe drop off at night there was a lot of drop offs. Room was limited. What was funny they charge me for going over one mile. A whole $4. Lol.
MARK AWhen I arrived at the location the man was very nice and fast but there is many things that was not good .... they didn't have the van I booked and the van they have different and dirty and the rate was good on miles at first then went up I put I wanted 200 miles you guys gave me 49cent mile the I went over 100 miles and charged me $1.19 cent why it didn't stay same 49 cent ! This will make it hard for me to rent in future

ANTHONY DThe truck engine felt like it could explode at any moment. Rpms were in the red most the time on freeway. Also, I thought I bought 2 bags of furniture pads. Not a single person told me they were a rental and that they needed to be returned with the truck. An hour after I dropped off the truck the following day, I received a $125 charge to my debit card!! When I called them I was told for the pads I never returned!!! How do I know that blankets are rented? So does that mean did I also need to return the tape gun and boxed I purchased as well? Very poor service not informing customers of this then turning around charging them hundreds of dollars for some blankets that I would have had no problem at all bringing back HAD I KNOWN. -BAD EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND!
ANDREA MThe equipment worked as expected. I realize the trouble with recent weather events but there was build up of ice in the holding area of the tire well on the car dolly.
STEVEN LUhaul or whoever owns that location needs to invest in better computer devices for their employees. It was so slow that the transaction was almost impossible foe the employee to complete. The employee was great and friendly and helpful. How frustrating though to work with equipment or internet that is not sufficient. And time consuming for the customer. Especially when moving is usually o a tight time schedule.
