Contrary to my first (good) experience with this UHaul location last week (8/27), this was not so great. The truck was in terrible condition. The front right tire was extremely low — I noticed a warning on the dash after I drove off the lot that said the tire was at 36 lbs and the other tires were around 80. The driver's side door was damaged and didn't close properly. The sun visor wasn't properly attached to the ceiling because the housing had been torn out. The gas gauge was inaccurate — it showed 3/4 of a tank when I drove off the lot but then the level dropped precipitously after less than a half mile of driving. (Thankfully I wasn't charged extra for gas when I dropped it off. It was very hard to estimate how much gas it needed, so I used the "range" function to bring it back to the amount of miles I started with.) The truck rattled horribly loudly while driving. The passenger mirror was stuck in place so I couldn't adjust it. The "optimal MPG" gauge was broken. The overhead door was really hard to close. The air conditioning was great :) But in the end everything went fine, so I'm grateful that you guys made it possible to affordably move our stuff!

MATTHEW SWhen you tell a client that a reservation is guaranteed if you chose that truck and location, it's actually not guaranteed at all, it's subject to Uhaul's questionable staff and their mood on any given day. This is called fraudulent inducement, and it's illegal. I'm a corporate client and had a "gauranteed" truck reserved for just after hours at 8:30PM. Upon arrival there was no truck, no-one to be seen anywhere, as it turns out the explanation I have recorded from u-haul was that "they just didn't do it"...."nothing we can do" and offered to find me another truck somewhere way off the beaten trail when my job had already started. Now I lost a client due to U-haul's negligence. Offering $50 to a corporate client in the case these guaranteed Trucks are not there is so far off from reasonable that I feel our friendly attorney general should be made aware. I'm quite sure you don't care that when you deal with corporate clients, they need these vehicles to work, and to pay their bills and feed their families. "oops sorry here's $50" is not an appropriate response given this situation.
DAVID RThe cargo van I rented was in decent shape, but the AC wasn't working. Not a big deal, I reported it to the associate Derrick, who was awesome. I really appreciated Derrick's help during the check-in and check-out process, and how he ensured I had the blankets I had reserved. Thank you!

KENNETH FService was very slow. There was no-one staffing the front desk. I had to peek into the garage twice to request assistance. The second time I could hear the guy under the vehicle swearing. The ads are very misleading. $19.99 does NOT get you a car for a day. The insurance fee was not explained (why does my regular vehicle insurance not cover this? I had to pay an additional $25 in insurance). Every single mile is billed (I did less than 30 miles). And I pay for gas. No option to return van at any other location but the one it came from. This is extortion.
LAUREN KEquipment should be thoroughly inspected by staff before it is provided to the customer. I was provided a tow dolly where the straps had been cut. They were not long and I was put in a position to require roadside assistance, only to have to wait 12 hours for someone to come. I had to stay in a hotel, canceled roadside assistance due to length of wait time and drove to Uhaul Store. This fault was negligent, avoidable, and I am disappointed in Uhaul for giving me a defective product that could have jeopardized my safety and the safety of those on the road.
Arin YThe van was only a quarter filled with gas and then when I brought it back I was charged for a full tank. More work for me to recover my overcharged card. Had to wait 15 minutes as the attendant was in the adjacent garage fixing a vehicle (not a UHaul vehicle).

I would definitely use this location again and would also wholeheartedly recommend this location to friends, as well. Exceptional experience. 5 stars!

Jason MI made an appointment on the UHaul web site and when we showed up we were told there was no technician after 2pm. They took no accountability for messing up my reservation and made it feel like it was all my fault. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I blocked off my entire evening to get this work done and there was absolutely no apology or understanding that UHaul was at fault. This entire experience was a total joke. They should be ashamed of themselves.

TARIQ KIf I could I would give zero stars. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I reserved a truck for self pick up but no truck was left for me. It set me back with the moving guys I hired because they couldn’t wait for hours for the store to open. It cost me double the money to get other movers with no notice. The employees are rude and seem annoyed that you are even there. Do yourself a favor - do not rent from them- I wish I didn’t

THOMAS DLocation had no blankets - Norwood location on Providence Highway was extremely helpful and demonstrated excellent customer service by providing these without charge due to my extra trip to a second location - this type of experience keeps me coming back as a customer!
Richard RI had several problems with this location and will not return. I reserved equipment over a month in advance and when I arrived, none of it was inside the truck. The store was supposed to open at 9am, but nobody arrived until 9:15. At this point, I had been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes for help getting my equipment for them to tell me they didn’t have what I had reserved over a month ago. They were not apologetic and took no ownership for their poor business practices. In fact, they made excuses. To top it off, I had been paying movers for that entire time, so I incurred much higher expenses because of this location. If you are relying on your equipment to be present as your reserved, do not use this location. If you would like a refund to compensate for the time they wasted, do not use this location. And if you would like people to be working when the store is supposedly open, do not use this location. Your reservations mean nothing and your business means nothing to them.
Sarah Myou contacted me the night before and switched the pick up location, less than ideal. When I made the reservation, the guy told me any size trailer ball would work. That wasn't the case. Fortunately I had a different size, the right size with me! The trailer was full of moving blankets and a dolly from the last rental. Had to take time to unload those. Where I turned my trailer in they were wanting me to back the trailer into a spot. I can't back a trailer up.

ERIC WThe rental equipment itself was fine. No issues. And the gentleman who worked with me when I picked up the trailer was great. The drop-off was a whole different experience. When I arrived, I entered the 'office' and the man behind the counter said, "just pull up by the side and we'll detach it." I followed these instructions, but while I was doing that, I was met with a very frustrated employee who said, "What are you doing?" (in an exasperated tone). I said that I was dropping off the trailer. He said that I was not in the right spot. I apologized and said that "this is the place where the gentleman inside told me to drop it off". He quickly and aggressively said, "I don't care when he said, this is not the right spot." He then said, "Nevermind . . . I'll just take it off myself," and proceeded to detach and remove the trailer. There was another customer there who was pretty surprised by the attitude, tone, and experience.
Jason LJuan was an incredible manager. I’m very frustrated with U-haul overall as they, with poor communication, made me pick up my U-Haul from this location instead of Cambridge without any compensation or recourse, but Juan made it almost worth it.
BENJAMIN HI dropped off the truck after hours, but it was easy and signs were clearly marked.
JAMESON MMy phone died as I was completing the pictures. The truck is in perfect shape. It worked great and it is swept and clean and ready for the next customer. I don’t know if I got all the photos, but it’s just good to go. When I picked it up, it said 196 miles until empty. It now says 252 miles until empty. The invoice suggested I needed to fill it higher, but that is not the case. Contact me with questions 617-650-4120.
DAVID WWill never recommend or go to Uhaul location in Hyde park, Ma. My original reservation was for that location and the employee never open the store. Set me back 2 hrs with moving.

STEPHEN Kmy origial assigned vehicle had a broken mirror! I returned to the office and asked for another vehicle. the Agent at the location was very reluctent to do so claiming "it is just the bottom mirror". Eventually he gave me the keys to another vehicle. WHen i returned the vehicle he did not updated the return and now U-Haul is charging me for two days rent, whereas i returned the car within 2.5 hours! All in all very poor serice combined with clear indefrence and incompetence.

It would be better to give good and new car who comes first, without any signals.
