What's to improve? Over several visits, General Manager Robert Williams has been unfailingly friendly, helpful, and efficient. His easy manner and meticulous attention to detail impressed both me and my wife. The young lady cleaning the interior of our van was equally upbeat, friendly, and very energetic.

dave mI actually reserved my truck on 3/7/24 to avoid any problems. I reserved a 15 foot truck at The El Camino Avenue store at 10:45 a.m. and I was ASSURED that there would be NO problems. Fortunately, I called the day before my reservation date to see if I could possibly pick the truck up a day early? BUT there was no 15 foot truck available!!! AND there would not be one there the next morning either! After about an hour of frustration on the phone, I had NO choice but to drive to the 65th St. store. I hear these horror stories about U-Haul all the time, which is EXACTLY why I reserved 3 weeks in advance. U-haul needs to find a better way to do business.

Michele BI wasted precious minutes (and my place in line) trying to use the app to check out the truck as instructed during the reservation, only to be directed to call an 800 number that in turn directed me to the the app. Absolutely pathetic. Fortunately the counter staff (once I got there) were excellent.

Julie SHaving to move is stressful enough without having the owner of the U-Haul location make it even worse. I made my reservation online with a pick & drop off at the same location. I ordered a 17’ truck, he informed me that they’ve not offered that size for awhile, that was the first inconsistency with my order, then he said the drop off location was on El Camino Blvd, second inconsistency, when I was saying that I didn’t see that info on my reservation he just said that he didn’t make the reservation & that’s what it says. I told him I didn’t know where that location was to drop off and I wanted to drop it off at the same location. He said well I couldn’t get at the $40 price, that was the third inconsistency with my reservation. I had agreed to pay $29.95, he told me that I had unlimited mileage or at least that what I understood. By this time I was visibly irritated, so instead of making the situation better he told me that I wasn’t listening to him & I was just talking over him. As someone who’s been in hospitality for my career I can say that I’m not proud of how I was acting, however as the consumer I feel he should have listened to me without trying to state some reservation info I didn’t sign up for. He could have relaxed the situation & gave me more options. Instead I got very upset and let him know that, he told me he wasn’t going to rent to me, which of course made me even more frustrated. I had to walk out, compose myself, take the time to find me email with my reservation & go back in to deal with him. He said do you wan to start over & I said yes, I then apologized for getting upset. After buying my first house, doing a remodel in order to move in, the last part of the process was to move, so having to deal with the stress of renting a U-Haul truck from this location is not something I will ever recommend. The last inconsistency with my reservation was when I dropped it off at the location that was 10 miles & 25 in out of way, I was charged for going over the mileage allowed by 3 miles, not a huge expense, but for a reservation I planed on spending $40 to $48 for I paid over $70. I’ve always used U-haul, including a few cross country moves, but think this will be the last time I choose this company. If a human has made it to end of my comments, thank you for reading. Mekea Sthe business should never give a rental truck with the gas tank on empty to a customer. That is not good customer service.

This was a bit of a nervous start to the rental as I was hoping I’d make it to the gas station in time. However, I was compensated for the extra gas I returned it with. The staff members who helped me check in and return, Robert & Luis, were professional and kind. I would definitely do business here again.

Joseph MI would never use the Uhaul app again . The person on duty was helpful. We were forced by the app to drop off the truck at a different location than what the reservation was confirmed for. I had to fill up the tank more and take up more of my time during the holiday than anticipated. I tried to change the drop off location on the app but it only gave me one location that was 30 plus minutes away. The customer service person at the drop off location was sympathetic but there was nothing they could do at that point.
