east independence worked with me after I tried the Indian trail location where I made the online reservation. the Matthews location (American Store & Lock 3815 Matthews Indian Trail Rd Matthews, NC 28104) said it never had my reservation and did not have the trailer I needed. Uhaul messed up the reservation and it was pain to fix.JOSEPH C.

We made a reservation with this location the evening before for an 8:00 pick up at 6216 Albermarle Road Charlotte NC. We were told we would have to go to a different location to pick up the truck and pads because they didn't have them. When we arrived at the Albemarle location there was no 20-foot truck. Andrew got on the phone and after about 45 minutes we were told to go to the Independence location to pick up the truck. Heather worked with us and the cost of the rental went up from 567 when I looked online to the reservation at a little over 700 to the final rental at closer to 800. We had to have a truck for a 9 meeting to load so I didn't feel I could ask any questions. There was no time because we were late meeting the moving crew. They still didn't have the moving pads so we had to drive back to the Albemarle location to pick them up. Heather worked to get the rental set up. Robert helped load the pads but definitely, the service was poor at best and not what I have experienced at other locations. not helpful in resolving the problem in a timely manner. I would give the Albemarle location very poor customer service. They had been opened an hour and should have been on the phone calling us and redirecting us and had the pads at the Independence location. The burden was on me as a customer to drive and pick up items and to pay whatever was requested. Lesson learned I will always call on the day of pick up to confirm what I was told in the reservation.SYLVIA B.

I brought to your employee attention that there were trash in the vehicle prior to me leaving your location. Now I'm being Charged for cleaning when I returned the vehicle with the same trash that was in it when I picked it up. That'll not rightPAMELA D.
- Booked a reservation for 8am mobile pickup from a 3rd party dealer; called them to confirm availability and they assured me it would be ready for me via mobile pickup at 8am - Arrived at 8am to pick it up; opened UHaul app and app said van was not marked for truck share pick-up and I needed to wait until facility opened at 830am - Called corporate number and they transferred my reservation to North Tryon St - Arrived at N Tryon and they said they don't have our reservation and they don't have cargo vans available - While we were trying to figure out what was going on, I got a text from UHaul confirming pickup at another UHaul location back the way we just came from - Eventually we got the van; an hour behind schedule and it was more expensive at the location we got it from; very inconvenient and annoying I was going to rent a van again for a small upcoming move but I'd rather make multiple trips with a car instead of go through the hassle and expense again.Eric C.

The employee that assisted me was really good. He was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The only issue that I had with this rental experience was the fact that this location did not have any utility dollies available for rent even though I reserved one during my reservation. Apparently there is a shortage of dollies in the Charlotte area because I was told another location within 5 miles from the store where I rented the truck would have a dolly but when I arrived they did not have any available either.SHANTESE J.

This location can only be accessed by a northbound road ( Independence Blvd). When we picked up, we had to travel approximately 3 miles out of our way to be able to access a southbound road. This added 6 miles to our trip and resulted in my having to pay for extra miles. Make sure to calculate this into your mileage estimate!Jeffrey T.

Stated that the dolly comes with a 26ft truck but failed to make it clear it's an additional charge even if not used! It would be nice to give customers the option to opt in not be forced to pay for utilities not needed. However the staff at this location are wonderful people!Irene M.

On October 30, rented truck for 7:30am. Truck was dead, employee tried to jump truck. An hour later, put me in smaller truck and a trailer... Then rented trailer November 7th at 7:30am for 24 hours. Told by employee to drop off anywhere on lot at 7:30 on Sunday but employees not there until 9am. On November 9 see charge for $21.45 for late drop off. I never was told of any late fees let alone be charged a fee with no receipt of explanation. This is ridiculous that I have to find out in such a manner. I tried to give you another chance after the truck Fiasco...I am embarrassed for your company...I would like to here from some regarding this lack of customer service.ANDREW U.

The process to get the truck was simple. The sales associate was friendly. Thebiggest problem was the lack of direction given to us regarding the check-in process after we were done with the truck. We were told to go to U-Haul.com/share, however we were not given any directions regarding the process to do a self check in. We were not told that we needed to take pictures within the app We were not told the number of pictures we would need to take within the app We were not told that we needed to complete the check-in process before turning in the keys. It would have been very helpful to know this upfront because it caused us a lot of confusion trying to check the car in. So my suggestion is that your customer service reps be trained to fully inform customers of the process for self-checking in the equipment on that website.Gregory B.

There were no dollies available and no other locations near by to rent one from. The guy next to me was picking up his Uhal and he had a dolly scheduled with his reservation and they didn't have one to give him. All the other Uhaul locations were booked. It would not have matter because they didn't have dollies. My pick up location had no dollies available and haven't had any for some time. Said they been waiting for a few weeks. How is this possible? That's an important part of renting. I was inconvenienced and I'm sure the other customer was too. We both left upset. your 3rd party locations are the absolute worst. I lost 4 hours on moving day, and was moved around pickup locations 5 times before landing here. Worst moving day ever!! The first location had 2 trucks the size I ordered in their lot, but the owner never showed up.. 7am pickup, then 8:30, then 9:45, then 10:30, then not available.. will never use a 3rd party like your services again. The mobile check-in process is *terrible* and not at all faster than just going inside. I realize the aim may have been to allow a more COVID-safe option, but then it should be easier and faster. I had pre-entered the license info, but was still asked for it again. I could have uploaded the photo of the ID in advance. The approval processes took way too long, during which my phone's screen went blank from inactivity, and it took me out of the approval line. Just a terrible terrible terrible online process.Aaron B.

The young man that checked me in was very pleasant and accommodating. However, the woman on site whom I'm assuming is the manager, was preoccupied with a personal conversation standing outside the store. The gentleman checking me in asked her for assistance and she blew off his request, giving him an answer unrelated to the actual question he asked. After repeating himself 3 times she finally understood what he actually needed help with, and he was able to complete my payment. The condition of the vehicle was less than ideal. I understand these are used for moving, and will not be in pristine condition, but there could be more time spent cleaning the interior surfaces between uses.
