Make it easier when the person has a problem to make the experience easier. We are obviously moving with a 26” truck so I don’t have a computer or hours to spend on the phone being transferred over and over.

My truck should NOT have been rented out to ANYONE! The brakes were terrible and heated up so much that the truck automatically went to neutral. They smelled like they were burning and I had to wait two hours along the side of I-80 to let them cool down enough to complete my return trip. The tires could have easily caught fire. Also, the steering in the truck was horribly loose and made it difficult to control as I drove. I have already contacted the office I rented the truck from and asked for a FULL refund. I should have NEVER drove the truck after unloading it because it literally was a death trap waiting to happen. This truck should not be rented out to anyone without a full inspection of the brakes and steering.

The process get slower and slower. Waited 30 minuted to do a very simple transaction. U Haul needs to update the computer system they use. Workers are pleasant but the process is horsey.

I was disappointed that the clerk could not offer me a test light for me to use t attempt to diagnose a tail light issue but I understand why. I am sure there are many liability reasons why.

I will never use uhaul again this has been one of the worst experiences in my life. I originally reserved a truck closer to where I was moving then was told the only truck available was an extra 8 miles from where the original place was which is a little irritating when I'm paying by the mile to rent a truck so ended up having to pay extra for a uhaul error then on top of that I was given a truck that clearly had a failing transmission so the whole drive was ridiculous. I put my last few dollars in the gas tank before I returned it which put it back to where it pretty much was when I left the uhaul lot with it before my move and was still charged a little over 12 dollars for gas.. THIS WAS THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER AND I WILL NEVER USE UHAUL AGAIN

Parking is always an issue at this Uhaul location due to the large amount of equipment, and small lot footprint. However, I was quickly helped and on my way.

Truck was horrible worst ride of my life pulled the right my wife couldn’t even drive the truck the truck need serve mechanical attention also the floor of the inner cab got so hot it burned my wife’s foot and also melted three movie cases of my sons we move a lot so to wife being a nurse asked for some kind of Reimbursement and was told can’t do anything and then on top of that blew a tire in the trailer and had to wait 3 hrs for service and Uhaul never texted me or emailed dispatch service info so had to call in and was on the phone for another 45 mins

I have nothing good to say about the male rep at pick up location. I called the location to let them know I would be two hours late and he had already cancelled my reservation. He said he called and the persona who answered his call said he had the wrong number. So! Without redialing the number again to ensure he dialed the right number, he just went ahead and cancelled my reservcation. He was adiment that he dialed the right number, but if he did .. he would have reached me!!!!!!!!!!!! He was strong headed and he was also frustrated with the person he was working with at the counter. Thankfully a female rep helped me, and she was calm and polite. Also, the new contract had a different amount of days to rent the van and they disagreed with me. It was all very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give good customer service, period. I rented a 6x12, and the following happened: 1) I was first told I had to have it back in 6 hours. Since I was renting it at 2 pm, it was unlikely I could get it back before they closed at 7, as I had a bit of moving to do. I did establish that I could drop it after hours. 2) when I arrived to pick the unit up, I think I was overcharged relative to the quote I saw online and was verbally told. I could be mistaken, but either way was told that the website might not be right. 3) When I returned I was able to make it back before 7 pm the same day and was told that I had returned the unit late and would be charged for two days. This was after only having the trailer for 4 1/2 hrs. After further discussion the rep, he checked inside and did decide it was "ok" and I wouldn't be charged extra. Wow, thanks. 4) Customer service at this particular location is very unpredictable. One person may be nice, but the next could be much better. Seem to have a tremendous amount of turnover. I use this location because it is convenient, but almost swear off using it in the future, most every time I rent. If they could give netter customer service, their bottom line would look a little different.

Getting service with uhaul is a Royal pain in the ass... it is the equivalent of “open for service, but not serving customers”... uhaul for now on will only be a last case scenario as I probably spent as much time trying to just rent the fucking car hauler trailer with all of these dumbass obstacles to get through in relation to how long I had in my possession, which was a 2 day rental in which I returned within 36 hours... the headache involved just trying to get service will sway me away from future business from there.

I had made the reservation online and used my card originally. My father paid in cash for our uhaul when we returned it as a gift. After 8 days, I still have not received my money back on my card that my father paid for ($460.95). I called the spruce hills location and they told me it was my bank's fault that the money hadn't been put back on my account. I called my bank and they had said they do not withhold funds in that manner. Hence my father and I have both paid $460.95 for the use of one uhaul, which totals to $921.90. If the money was put back onto my card without all of this trouble, I would gladly give you a 5 star review. However, this issue with my card does not make me want to use Uhaul's services in the future.

After hours return the the Uhaul website was NOT user friendly, AT ALL! Uhaul corporate customer service was very unhelpful. Advised me to call the store in the morning & hung up on me. When I called the store in the morning, I could not get through. I waited on hold for over 30 minutes, while eventually deciding to just make the trip back to the store. Got there & they told me I didn't need to call as advised by corporate, they check the after hours trucks in automatically in the morning. Horrible, horrible customer service from Uhaul corporate! Nothing to do with the nice people at this store, but will not be using Uhaul next time I need a truck, nor will I recommend others do so.

The truck had a broken visor on the drivers side. Said that they had ordered one, but not in yet. It did appear that they had other trucks on the lot in the size requested that we could have used.

Equipment 5x8 cargo was not there at 900 am. Customer didn’t turn it in night before. Larger 6x10 was not offered. Told another customer had reservation. Called late turn in and charged them. Called and said it was available at 1030. Picked it up it was muddy and sandy on floor when I opened it. I returned it after using it only about 2 hours. Was given a 4 dollar discount. Not on time and dirty......should have been free or half price.

Actually when i made the reservation, i was sent to wrong facility. The gentleman at the Bettendorf Iowa store to care of the situation within matter of minutes. He went above and beyond his duties to help. I couldn't have been happier.

Customer parking is not optimal at this location. There is none. You have to park across the street or down in a residential area to park and then walk to pick up the truck/van if you are by yourself. Do with that what you will hahaha

The person on the phone was rude , at the store where my grandson stopped to reserve our truck!! And was rude to me when I called to reserve the truck with my Debit Card!!

The truck had a sign that the truck should be swept out and clean to avoid a $25 charge. There was trash in the cab that was not mine (pair of broken sunglasses) and wrappers and dirt and dust bunnies in the back of the truck. I was told I would be given a break on the mileage of the bill because I brought the truck back with 1/4 tank more gas than when I got it, but the rep charged by card incorrectly the first time for the full price, then again for the correct price. He assured me my card would be credited for the incorrect charge; it's now 5 days later and it hasn't been refunded to my card and today I have a pending charge of $14. When I called, I was on hold for over 20 minutes to find out that the phone rep had to escalate the issue and her manager will call me tomorrow. She actually stated that the $14 charge was to ensure my account was legit. Because the two previous charges cleared for over $100 each didn't ensure it was legit??? The guys at the U-Haul store were friendly enough but if you don't have a few hundred dollars to spare tied up in a charge mistake, buyer beware. Oh, and you can't park your vehicle there on the weekends if you're getting a truck, so you have to park on the street in a county where car thefts are off the charts. Not cool. Do not recommend.

Refund what you "hold" that isn't used faster. Don't give out trucks with check engine lights on! Moving is hard enough without that added worry.

I would never refer anyone to uhaul ever! What a scam! Your employees need to learn to read the gas gauge .This is the second time using Uhaul within a year and both times, even putting gas back to where it was said it needed to be, the dumbass behind the counter still charged me the gas rate because according to them “it wasn’t quite there”. Even though it was passed the mark. When I brought it up that it was passed what was marked on the paper they give to you showing where it needs to be the uhaul “employee if he month” said that when he looks at it at a certain angle it was still below. He had to go with the angle he was looking at not the consumer. I have more stories but you get the picture. I advice anyone moving to really look at all the options and make the Bettendorf Iowa Uhaul your absolute last resort. It is a huge ripoff.

I was a little taken aback when I rented the truck and suddenly to have an employee tell me I couldn't leave my vehicle on their lot...like oh no now what am I supposed to do. I didn't have anyone else with me to drive it away. Fortunately there was a business that had closed across the street that I was able to utilize.

ridiculous how they let me leave with the truck telling me “44 miles to empty” and I’m given a $21 credit to bring it back with a 1/4 tank and I bring it back with between 1/2 & 3/4 tank and can’t get credited ANYTHING for putting way more gas in than asked? How is one supposed to know how much gas to put in to bring it to where it’s supposed to be? Just think they could credit you for doing something nice....

Have some parking for your customers. parking across the street, made me worry about my car being towed. Was not happy about supporting your business and just parking in a random place. The staff was GREAT! 5 stars for them!

The vehicle was ready and the staff was friendly. However, I was very unimpressed with the fact that my vehicle was on the empty line when I turned it on. I ended up guessing for the gas and spent significantly more than what I used because of that. The vehicle should be at full at pickup and should be full when it’s returned.

This is the second time I have had to work with this Uhaul location and I had another bad experience. If there was another location close close by, I would not have gone back after my first rental. It seems like the staff at this location are not organized or well trained. This time around, I paid for furniture pads, but they were never placed in the trailer. I got all the way home and started packing when I realized they were missing. I just don't understand why the employees at this location don't have a checklist that they follow every time they rent a vehicle. Instead it is on the customer to double-check their work.

Uhaul sent me an old text from a year ago yesterday saying where to drop off truck. I just lost my mom and didn’t realize they screwed up that. Called customer service they said all extra expenses would be covered and if issue that local place would call before adding experience. But they did not. The customer service lady I talked to today was rude !! Talked over me was not helpful at all!!! I’ve had great experience in that past but the lady today was horrible and rude. And the Bettendorf local did not do what I was told they would. Wasn’t over an hour on phone with customer service and had to drive 50 plus extra miles. Not a great experience!!!!
