My biggest issue withU-Haul was the lack of ability to communicate either during or after hours. Live chat was “not available” or kept closing when I attempted to use it. I much prefer Lice Chat to phone but without that option had no choice to resort to phone option. Those wait times were too long for me to wait the majority of the time I had to stay on speaker and go about my business which was not ideal. Also my biggest problem was with “Moving Help”. At my home in Metairie there was a problem with the order going through to the company resulted in the movers coming over 41/2 hours late. This caused me to use live chat (also non functional) and finally speaking with U-Haul who gave me a direct phone # for “MOVINGHELP” which DID get me results. On the deliver end the s age dukes moving company cancelled @ approx 7/20PM for the next morning delivery. I was able to LiVe Chat and schedule another moving company. But all my choices were starting @ $300=/+ more. So access's Uluru and Moving reliability were my issues

Brake lights didn't work correctly Had blow out on right front tire Couldn't get in tough with U-Haul for over a hour. When we finally did, we were told it would take another hour to hour and a half for service. We were located at the Texas Louisiana line ON INTERSTATE 10 in 5 O'CLOCK TRAFFIC. A VERY DANGEROUS LOCATION!!! U-HAUL showed NO INTEREST in our SAFETY. We finally called a wrecker who changed the tire at a cost of over $200.00 There is no excuse for this lack of interest or the amount of time it took to get help I have used U-HAUL a number of times in the last year. The service get worse and worse

Don't change reservations at the last minute for out of state moves. If it's unavoidable, please do everything possible to make the situation convenient for the customer.

Reservation is misleading and makes it seems like it's booked for you, as that is in essence the definition of a reservation. Was supposed to call me by the 26th according to the website to confirm things. Wasn't called till the 28th, a little over 12hrs before I'm due to pick it up and after I've already taken off work, where they tell me, they don't have anything and need to hunt and find it, nearly screwing up my moving plans with their last minute bs and having me take a day off work for nothing. Get called back and they tell me I need to drive to a location further away, and they don't have a 15ft so they'll give me a 20. That's great but I didn't necessarily need a bigger truck, nor want one. Luckily though they do have a front wheel trailer, which is the important thing. Get there the next day and they don't have a front wheel trailer for a vehicle, which is specifically what I needed since I knew the car likely wouldn't start. My plan was to jack it up the front and back the trailer under it. They give me a full sized one for the same price to tow a vehicle which I know is likely going to be useless on a car that isn't running, but I need to move the car so I have to hope for the best. By the time it's all over I'm spending $150, bout $60 of which was wasted on a useless trailer as I wasn't able to tow the vehicle with it, and another $10-15 I probably wasted in mileage and gas cause I'm now dragging about an extra 10ft behind me which means it's much harder or impossible to make sharp turns and backup in certain areas, or get over when. You need to in heavy traffic. Overall it was a piss poor experience, and I'm not happy about spending double my money, not being able to move my other vehicle, and the fact I was lied to/misled. Personally if all this crap happened, I'd refund the customer the difference spent for their money wasted and multiple inconveniences/failures by U-Haul, but I don't expect that to happen.

Truck should not have check engine light on. In renting a truck if fuel level is not the same as the desk says it is they should have to go outside to check it and make changes to the agreement. Customer should not have to take a picture and send it to the app as it never was corrected and was overcharged for gas on the return of the vehicle. When trying to correct the issue waited for 40 minutes on hold with the site and no one ever picked up. Was able to on U-Haul chat with Coby from customer service of which helped me with my problem. Lastly, the $20.00 fee if the clerks check you back in is absurd. This needs to be removed. U-Haul is not a self check out/in business and should not be treated as such. When I informed the clerk the fuel level was a quarter of a tank off they should have walked outside and verified and a new contract made with the correct information. I should not have to waste an hour of my time to have to fix the problem.

The service site supervisor for New Orleans was extremely rude. Even laughed at me on the phone and practically hung up on me. Called me the afternoon before my reservation to tell me that they had nothing that I had reserved two weeks prior. Then changed the reservation incorrectly and had actually only set me up for a one day rental when it was supposed to be two days. Horrible customer service. Said her manager would contact me but no one ever did. Will not use this service again for the way I was treated and spoke to.

People were nice, truck was a wreck. It wasn't dirty but smelled and obviously well used with over 114,000 miles. It ran rough and was needed some care - I've rented before and have had much nicer trucks. The hand truck I reserved was also missing, lady said guy before me got the last one.

I had a great experience. I was getting a new mattress as Memorial Day is one of the biggest sales on Mattresses. It would have cost me over $50 for the delivery and it would not be delivered for 2 weeks. I paid less than $30 for picking the mattress and box spring and delivering it to my home. I only used the truck for less than 1 hour but it was well worth it. I think I only put 12 miles on the truck. Everyone was nice and the truck was ready as I requested.

I dropped the trailer off after they closed and was unable to use the App to return the equipment. I called the next morning and notified the office staff the trailer had been returned. For some reason the return was not recorded until 2 days later and I was charged for 2 additional days. I am still working to get these additional charges removed.

William Burton was abhorrent! He was so damn lazy that he didn't even go over the safety checks. He never told us about inserting the cotter pin that prevents the ball and socket from sliding out of the hitch. We almost died on the busy I-10W freeway before the LaPlace exit because the hitch slid off and swung the trailer back and forth on a busy highway with our vehicle attached to it!! Even the police and the tow truck guy couldn't believe that the Uhaul rep didn't teach us about the pin. So the fact that he didn't check to make sure the signal lights were working properly either should not come as a surprise (we had to remind him to do it). An awful customer service experience! Would definitely not recommend this location off Veterans Blvd due to safety concerns!!

Very poor experience. Poor communication. Charged a whole day for truck that was 45 minutes late. Renting location gave us this time for free.Rude people.Recommend not using this location. Try renting and dropping off at another location in the area.
