The gentleman at the counter was polite, but very mumbly and hard to hear. The truck I rented smelled strongly of cigarette smoke covered by chemicals, and the dash panel had been chemically melted, stripping most of the icons/labeling off the buttons and rendering the screen in the center of the dash inoperable. There was no indication what any of the buttons on the climate control, radio, or center screen did because they had been stripped and were all just bare white plastic. When I went in to ask for a new truck I was told, "that's just from the cleaner was use", as though that somehow fixed the issue. The other three pickups in the parking lot looked fine. When I asked for a new truck, I was told "two trucks are down, and one is reserved for later". I also had a reservation, so I'm not sure why someone else's reservation guaranteed them a better truck. When I returned the truck later that day, there was only one other pickup truck on the lot, which made the "two trucks are down" claim seem very suspicious. I was offered no discount or apology.John K.

Truck 26 ft had 127,123 miles on it. It had damage on all sides of the truck. It was so noisy it gave me a migraine it shook going over 50 miles per hour. The gas gage was broken and after filling the tank it. Only registered 3/4 tank. I got 2.4 miles to a gallon of gas. The cab was filthy, the noice from air blowing g through the cab was deafening. It was the worst rental I ever had bar none. The truck should never be on the road.Ronald H.

The 10' truck I was assigned had the check engine light on which is generally not a huge deal when it's your own vehicle but it's a complete mystery when it's a public vehicle. I'm pretty engine savvy and it didn't take me 2 miles before I diagnosed the problem as fuel flow related. It almost petered out on me a few times. When idling, the tachometer would jump and it would rev without being given gas. While engaged, and going up through the gears it was sluggish one second chomping at the bit the next. All of these things combined say fuel pump fuel filter and fuel line to me. I mentioned it to the attendant.Beth H.
The truck I rented was half full of gas. I was instructed to return it half full which caused a guessing game on my part. A suggestion would be to rent all vehicles with a full tank of gas and insist they're returned full as well or charge to fill. Kinda picky I know but just a suggestionPETER M.

The trucks are clean and well maintained. However, there is an accident hazard that exist. The floors seem to be sprayed with something slippery that can cause the foot to slip off the pedal. My suggestion is to use something different to prevent this hazard.SHERON B.

Uhaul waa terrible. I made a reservation in May for a 26ft truck and the day before my move. They switched my location to over an hour away from where I live. I was transferred to several areas and ended up with a one bedroom truck which was horrible because I had to make many trips and it of course made my bill much higher than I expected. I was highly upset and I never had this happen before. Based upon this experience I will never ever use Uhaul again and will discourage my family and friends from using you. I have already shared this terrible experience on Social Media. Uhaul is the most unprofessional company I have ever used and you will not receive my business again. You wasted my time and this move was way too much expensive then what I initially plan. I need something to be adjusted or credited to my account this is truly ridiculousNancy K.

Tirek Williams is the reason this place gets 5 stars. Before my rental I I bought my hitch from him, he went the extra mile and customized the ball to fit perfect. Also, on the return with just him working on a busy day, he took the time to work with every customer and never got flustered even though it was very busy. The after-hours drop off experience was quite poor. First, the return lane was full, and there were only 2 trucks in it, and we had to very carefully navigate around them to park further back in the lot. Additionally, the internet signal was non-existent in the location, and I was not able to process an after-hours return on my phone because no matter all of the location setting changes I made to my phone, it could never "find my location." Had to call customer service for assistance to avoid the $20 convenience fee.CHRISTOPHER H.

I have rented from this location multiple times and my experiences have been nothing less that fantastic!!joseph W.
My original reservation was double booked and the Exxon employee was rude and not knowledgeable. I then spoke to a great representative on the phone who set up my 24/7 reservation at this location. I live in Pennsylvania and was trying to set my reservation to be an easy pick up at 9pm. Due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up not getting there until 10:15. It took me until 11:30pm to get someone on the phone at uhaul because the self pickup line had me on hold twice for more than 20 min a piece. Also the original reservation was setup for my sister to pick up. When they were treated with disrespect at the Exxon station I dealt with the pick up instead. However the woman on the phone at 11:30 at night would not give me access to the vehicle I was picking up without speaking to my sister even though my email and phone number are on the account. So I had to wake her up from her sleeping kids to remedy this situation. This was one of the most frustrating situations I have ever had to deal with none the less after a 2 hour drive and I was extremely unhappy with the service, all in all I would rather be kicked in the face repeatedly then deal with any of what I went through on Friday ever again. I am sure nothing will get done or change and that upper management will never see this email as I am just a number in the cog of insanity going over at uhaul. For what it is worth though here's a poor review I hope the people I dealt with over the phone and my sister dealt with at Exxon's children forget how to read. I dropped off and no receipt provided. Instructed to leave keys in truck and they did not check fuel at that time while I was there. I received email receipt charging $43 to fill up the fuel tank. Floor of the truck was spray with a gloss finish which made it slippery, no parking to to go To the office, people park in the equipment return up area causing a hazard and back up of returning trucks on the main road . Also there are fraudulent charges on the receipt, they charge me for 5 gals of gas when I return it with the same gas . Also I did 3.5 miles so where did they put 5 gals of gas . I HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE IT How many more of these fraudulent charge did other people had to pay . I will be posting this on social media to see how many more people where charge the fraudulent charges for this Catonsville location Maryland. They can check the mileage an tell it's wrong .MARK R.

1) When I returned my vehicle I was charged for equipment that I did not rent. I waited on hold with customer service for 40 minutes before having to hang up. Sent an email, but not response. 2) There is NO customer parking. There needs to be somewhere for customers to park. Yes, you're picking a vehicle, but you're not WALKING there.Lisa S.

There was no room in the parking lot to park the truck without blocking the steeet/sidewalk. We were clearly instructed by the drop off instructions to NOT block areas. There were also signs everywhere to not park/block. So, we parked the truck across the street where another truck was parked. An hour later we got a call saying we needed to come back to move the truck into the parking lot. They were very rude and made us drive 30 miles to come back when they could have just moved the truck themselves.Ashley S.

Scheduled to pick up at 6:00am. The app did not work on the phone at that time for some reason. Waited for first employee to arrive. Employee did not wait on me right away, but set up the store for opening. After opening, then waited on me...making it after 7:00am when I finally departed with the truck. That being said, had the app worked and I did check out the truck, the truck for me was parked in a location that was blocked by returned trucks and I would not have been able to leave until the store opened anyway. I literally have a U-Haul location 2 miles from my house that is a local gas station. I get it that they are a franchise location. Here's my thing. Why do I as the. Customer have to drive 50 minutes from my house when there is about 6 local locations to choose from. I booked a reservation that is 10 minutes away. The morning of pickup and I mean, I am literally walking out the door. I received a phone call telling me that there isn't a trailer there for me to use. I was a bit upset. Best part is the lady who called me never apologized, said sorry. Tell me to go fly a kite, just said do you still want it????? RUFKM!!! This company is loaded. I have an idea. Hire folks to move your equipment to locations where people, the customers can be convenient to them. Nope! I got, do you still want it?? Unfortunately, they have the market cornered. No other company has small trailers to rent so they don't care about customer service. I have rented these small 5x8 trailers 5 times in the last 3 years due to college moves. All 5 have been an issue of pick-up and drop off for me, the customer. The two people at the location where I picked up the equipment were very nice and helpful. It's not the people working at the locations it's the overall company mindset, which I believe is screw the customer they need us and they don't have options. The phone app sucks! U-haul cares about making money and nothing about assisting the customer with any sort of convenience. Guarantee I will not receive a phone call or email after this review. Why? They don't read them nor care, as long as they are making money off of the folks who keep them in business. I have complained after every rental and I have not received a single response. I went to pickup the U-haul yesterday, The staff there was very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Front office representative Pamela was very knowledgeable and helpful. She is well trained and follows the company protocols , she was greeting customer with a smile and re-checking the phone numbers provided by the customer as well as their secondary contact for emergency purposes. The location was short staffed by the people who were working their were making sure every body gets in an out on time without wasting time. First of all they told me that there is no customer parking while the website said there is. Second they give me a 26' box truck that supposedly be at the shop for repair. When I drove it for 100 ft I realized that something was wrong. The truck was so loud and wasn't get power. Brought it back and the representative told me several times that the truck was fine. Had to swap with a 15' was a nightmare for meRostand M.
When I got there someone had stole parts from all the trucks the night before and they had to make sure the truck worked which was not uhals fault.but someone dropped an extra key in my truck (which noone knew was even missing so when my mover went to start the truck he used the key he found in the truck ..which didn't work ..I spent 3 hours on the phn with road side assistance and had to stop moving because the truck wouldn't start. Then we realized we had 2 keys and the other key started the truck.yed it was are falut but also would of never happend if the one key wasn't lost .then when I took the truck back and let them know what happen they said we didn't even know this key was missingSTACEYANN G.
