This message is for management. How DARE YOU not give your staff proper equipment to do their job SAFELY. There was no trailer tongue jack available to unhook the trailer. The employee was left struggling to lift it off manually. He couldn't do it and needed two of us to unhook it. This is beyond unacceptable and with a past history as a health and safety representative, you as management have failed at your job. It's especially deplorable given your fancy big branded location.

JUAN MI find it to be a very convenient location being right of the highway. The location has everything you need in terms of equipment rentals and everything else associated with a move such as carts, boxes, tape, blankets, etc.

STEPHANIE PTo take it to the next level, I would recommend for you to ask the customer if he has rented a car from you before. If not, you may offer a brief tour about the vehicle, perhaps, there is something that the customer doesn't know. Otherwise, the service was stellar.

JEAN LNot much I can add to improve the experience; the vehicle was prepped and ready to go, the process to rent the vehicle was efficient, and the return was equally quick.
DURWIN MThis was the best rental truck we have ever had from Uhaul. Nice to drive, comfortable and reasonably quiet. The location is great, much better than picking up in a small parking lot somewhere. The only part of the experience I did not enjoy is at some point the online quote gave me a really good price, much better than I landed up paying. An employee explained that it may have been due to the site showing me a quote in US$.

Jean GLe trailer n'a pas été bien installé par l'employer et il a débarquer de la boule de remorquage. Heureusement, rien n'a été briser. Les clignotants du trailer ne fonctionait pas non plus. Normalement nous reçevons du bon service à cet endroit mais pas cette fois-ci.

JASON CPour une fois, je n'ai pas été satisfait du service que j'ai reçu lorsque je suis allé chez u-haul. J'avais loué un camion "cube" de 10pi à 9h30 pour mon déménagement qui commencait à 10h. Lorsque je suis arrivé en succursale, l'employé a été courtois avec moi, m'a enregistré et m'a donné les clefs sans problème. Toutefois, quand je suis arrivé à mon camion assigné, je me suis rendu compte que ils avaient laissé une grosse bannière marqué "liquidation" couvrant tout le pare brise, et la glace sur le pare-brise n'avait même pas été grattée. De plus, par un extrêmement heureux hasard, j'avais aussi loué un "Dollie" et je devais donc le mettre dans la boite du camion. Toutefois, je me suis rendu compte que le mécanisme pour ouvrir la porte était bloqué, j'ai donc dû aller voir l'employé à l'intérieur, qui lui a du venir huiler le mécanisme avec de la WD40, pour finalement pouvoir l'ouvrir avec un marteau après 5 minutes. Tout cela m'a causé d'arriver en retard à mon propre déménagement, alors que des gens m'attendaient pour venir m'aider. C'était assez gênant. Imaginez si je n'avais pas remarqué plus tôt que la porte du camion ne s'ouvrait pas...
MANUEL DEven though I picked up my truck in the morning and it had not snowed since the previous afternoon, I had to clear the snow from the hood and windshield and then scrape the ice on the windshield, all with my personal ice broom. When I told the employee he said I should have come back in and told them, they would have done it. I’d expect them to have the truck ready BEFORE i get there, NOT at my request and while I wait!!! Had one one them come out to inspect the truck as is the norm (no, they didn’t…), they would have at least caught it then. They also could have informed me of the particulars of the truck, for exemple the « Haul/Tow » button you should press when the truck is empty and you’re driving in snowy conditions (which both happened later that day for almost 100 kilometers coming back to the rental office). I am completely unimpressed by the service I received at this location and I cannot imagine myself using your services again unless I have no other options.

rob BDear U-Haul Customer Service Team, I want to express my disappointment with the service my family and I experienced at your 383 Coventry Rd, Ottawa location on January 10, 2025. On January 3, we booked a 6x12 trailer with the Cryville Storage location for a one-way trip to assist our son with a move. On January 6, I received a call advising that the trailer would not be available at the Cryville Storage location. Instead, I was informed that the trailer we needed had been transferred to your 383 Coventry Rd location, and our reservation was confirmed for January 10 at 1:00 PM. We arrived promptly at 12:55 PM on January 10, only to be informed by the staff member handling our service that our reserved trailer had been given to another customer by mistake, just 30 minutes before our arrival. This was frustrating, especially given that we had received no prior communication about the issue. The staff began searching for an alternative trailer and offered a local-use trailer, which they intended to allow us to use for our one-way trip. When we expressed our frustration about the situation and the lack of an apology, one staff member behind the counter made an inappropriate remark, stating that being upset or frustrated wouldn’t encourage them to provide good customer service. This response was unprofessional and only added to our dissatisfaction. We attempted to use the alternative trailer, but upon hooking it up to our vehicle, we discovered that the tail lights were not working, rendering the trailer unusable. At this point, the staff member who had mistakenly given away our reserved trailer started looking for another location to secure a trailer for us. It’s important to note that we had booked this trailer a week in advance and traveled 5.5 hours to Ottawa specifically to assist with our son’s move. Despite this, there was no sense of urgency, apology, or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused by the error. Both staff members made us feel as though the mistake was our fault and not their responsibility. Ultimately, we were directed to another U-Haul location in Quebec—U-Haul De Hull-Déménagement Et Entreposage—where we could pick up a trailer. Although we had to drive an additional 20 minutes out of our way, the staff at the Quebec location were exceptional. They quickly addressed our needs, provided helpful information, and ensured that everything was in order before we left. Their professionalism and customer service were a stark contrast to what we experienced at the 383 Coventry Rd location, and I would highly recommend the Quebec location based on this experience. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability, professionalism, and customer service demonstrated at the 383 Coventry Rd location. Booking a trailer a week in advance and traveling a significant distance only to encounter such poor service is unacceptable. I trust that U-Haul values its customers and will take the necessary steps to address this matter and ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
JODY WThe self check-in application is not easy to use. The on screen keyboard blocks the view of data entry fields making it difficult to validate entries and there does not seem to be an edit function enabling the user to update the fields - like the emergency contact info - so one has to retype it every time. Also very disappointed in the charging mechanism - not clear that I would be charged an extra $40 at the check-out for millage use. So while the location is good and easy - the price gouging surprise turns me off completely.
Steve MI know it's winter but the trailer was really dirty and I used it to transport à nice leather sofa. It didn't ruin it but it was impossible to not get it dirty.. Overall however the transaction was super easy and good value.
DANIEL DStaff at 60 Rue Jean-Proulx were very polite and professional. I was to initially pick up my trailer at another location but was transferred to the Jean-Proulx location due to the fact that the customer in possession of the trailer I reserved wasn't back in time. This unfortunately caused delay and put me out of my way for a busy driving day.

A discount would have been greatly appreciated! The young man working on Saturday February 17th at the Rue Jean- Proulx, Gatineau, Quebec, CA location is to be commended! I was there early in the afternoon and again late in the day. He delivered the same professional, polite, and helpful service both at the beginning and end of his shift. He was extremely helpful describing different storage options, taking me to the window, showing me photos, pointing to the monitor, while informing me of prices and the pros and the difference between each type of uniit. It would have been great if I could have used locks Id purchased from previous moves. I had to buy two new locks, when I already owned three.
