Customer service was appalling: slow as can be because staff at counter had no idea what they were doing. Both on pick up and return. At least the return guy was new and had an excuse. This being said, price was outstanding and location good when off rush hour. In rush hour it would be a nightmare.

Bonjour, Le jour de ma réservation je suis aller au comptoir 1) pour vérifier si mon camion était bien réservé car j'avais reçu un texto qui me disait une autre adresse. ?? 2) je voulais aussi ajouter et louer des accessoires, que je n'ai pas pu réservé en ligne. ?? 3) pour avoir le numéro du local d'entreposage réservé. Alors qu'il n'y avait qu'un seul client au comptoir, j'ai dû attendre 45 minutes avant que l'employé m'appelle à mon tour. La raison de cette attente, que j'ai deviné, était qu'il y avait un nouvel employé qui n'arrivait pas à utiliser l'ordinateur et ne cessait pas de demander de l'aide à son collègue. Cette personne faisait erreur sur erreur, et à continuer d'accaparer l'employé qui nous servait. Je comprends que les temps ne sont pas faciles, mais une formation, avant de lancer un nouvel employé au comptoir, aurait dû ou devrait être efficace. D'autres clients attendaient derrière nous aussi ! Le service que vous offrez et que nous payons ne devrait pas souffrir de problèmes tel que celui-ci. D'autre part, je n'ai pas pu reculer l'heure de départ sur le site internet, point pourtant demandé lors de ma réservation téléphonique. En espérant vous avoir rendu service par l'information de ces explications, merci.

Reservation over the internet was brutal with more questions than necessary, trying to sell services I was not interested in, Check out was intense with your computer down and manual credit check for a twenty dollar rental that took 20 minutes. Return was perfect! Gotta love uhaul!!!

The person who helped me get the storage unit account setup was quick and efficient and very friendly. I got a very good impression of U-Haul as a company because of this individual's good attitude. This is very refreshing compared to the last storage facility I used (not U-haul) where the staff seemed like they did not care at all and would prefer if people would just leave them alone. So I hope the guy that served me is appreciated and well paid!

I have been renting U-Haul trailers quite often and the service I received at this location had to be the worse service out of all the U-Haul locations that I've visited.

We had our belongings in this storage for almost 2 years. All went well until our departure from the unit. When clearing our belongings, unfortunately we discovered some items that were eaten/ruined by mice. Our couch had holes in it from mice and was covered in droppings (it was covered by plastic but they chewed through that as well). The U-Haul staff reassured us right away that we would get reimbursed for this. However, to this day, we have received no response or follow-up on our claim for reimbursement. We will likely have to continue pressing the issue in order to get any resolution, which is very disappointing. We paid over $5K in our time of having our belongings in storage - the least they could do is make sure we receive appropriate compensation for ruining important furniture.

Only a small suggestion, I was going to drop of the truck at a different location which we decided together. It was Thanksgiving weekend and I informed if they were going to be open Monday morning, and was told yes. That wasn't true, but to get my refund back you either had to go back there the next opening day, since I paid by debit card not credit card. I arrived before 8am as the contract stated, but you needed a cell phone to log in,and open an account. To drop off the keys before taking pictures of the truck , location pics etc. Nothing was ever mentioned of this and finding out after all this process you can send me a cheque through the mail. So you should advise your staff that this is a major process if you arrive late or they are closed. I didn't need to bring my phone. And then again was told they were open. , driving back to get my phone another 20 km one way and back is not really profitable plus gas.

The cabin was not cleaned properly because there was a beer can that exploded on me. I smelled like beer for my whole trip. This is dangerous and a poor job cleaning was done.

The young man who served us, doesn't seem very enthusiastic et happy to work. Didn't explain exactly how did work. Didn't tell us where the truck is located or how to find it. He went out side with us then miraculously just was somewhere else.

i have an 8 am reservation and I had to wait 1 hour to get served. I had booked online and tried to check in online, but that option isn't available in Canada - there is now way to avoid waiting in line. Why would uhaul book over 10 appointments at 8 am and only have 1 employee? Dropping it back off took 30 mins. To add to this, the rear tires were worn out, there is something loose in the steering and a squeaking noise from a wheel while driving.

Great service when checking in. Facility is clean and bright. Easy access for loading. Only negative was there were signs of mice/rats- there were traps and droppings in unit. I hope this problem is kept under control.

I had a trailer hitch installed and rented a trailer. The installation procedure went a bit wrong (broken muffler), but UHaul handled everything extremely well. Trailer rental? No problem at all. Service was exceptional and the manager there... a person I'd go to any time!

Nous avons louer un cube 20 pi. Celui-ci avais un problème de pneu extérieur côté passager. Celui-ci avais un trou carrément dans le pneu. S'etais extrêmement dangereux surtout que le dit camion venais tout juste d'être inspecter par quelqu'un. Nous avons remarqué le tout en magasin lors du retour de l'équipement et j'étais très fâché car sa aurais pu me causé un grave accidents a moi et mes enfants.

Very very frustrating rental. I booked it online to rent a van from the Dollard des Ormeaux (ddo) location which is 2 km from me and it said available for the time. Then it sent the confirming email the next day for chomedy location which is very far. I called and they switched to Ddo location but then confirmed a pick up truck. I had to call back and then they switched to the Lachine location again very far away . I ended up picking up there today. During the move I placed the car key which does not have a remit on passenger seat to not lose it. 2 hrs later when I was finished loading i closed the rear doors and the vehicle locked the complete system automatically. I wasted 1 hr being bouncing around by multiple uhaul employees with no resolution aside from they said call a taxi to open it. So I did and it cost me 35 bucks and I lost over an hour time. Terrible experience from beginning to end . I was never given the 50 $ guarantee credit nor the additional credit for all this issue . I will most likely be going on Google to write a public review No one called me to tey and resolve it and when i returned the vehicle i was told nothing could be done.. no empowerment at all by anypne

The rental i had was good and clean But the amount they charged for 1 hour and 1/2 is outrageous and not impressed I rented the same truck in July first and for longer in time use it was 1/2 the price I've paid so i got ripped off and not too happy

J'ai réserver mon camion pour 10h30 après 1 heure d'attente en ligne, on me dit que vous avez over booker et que vous n'avez pas de camion pour moi. L'employé me dit qu'il me donnera un 50$ de satisfaction que j'aurais dans quelques jours et qu'un camion sera réserver pour moi à 16h30. À 14h un employé m'appeler surprise un camion est libre mais un dimanche à 14h30 quand il faut faire un aller retour pour Chambly il faut s'attendre à du traffic. Devinez quoi 3 heures de traffic aller retour et parce que je n'ai pas eu mon camion tel que réserver à 10h30. Et vous osez mes charger pour de l'essence et les heures après fermetures? Demain on va avoir une petite conversation et vous aller m'expliquer comment cela se peut-il. Un remboursement complet s'impose

The trailer we rented had a leaf spring that wasn't bolted correctly causing the axel to detach which caused the tire cover to hit the tire during our use and burn the tire. This was scary as we were transporting a vehicle on the highway, the tire was blowing white smoke and could've caught fire/caused a heavy accident. Were very displeased that the company has such faulty equipment that we paid money for that was so dangerous and shouldn't have been on the road or part of the fleet. It was something to our eye we couldn't have known but missing pieces is a disgrace of equipment that Uhaul should be more vigilant and careful. The manager at the lachine office was rude and unhelpful when we called to ask for roadside assistance number, he told us to refer to a red pamphlet that was never given to us instead of just helping us when we were in need. We wasted a lot of time due to this incident and for the assistance to arrive.

While the equipment was well maintained, the fact that I was made to wait at the location for over an hour because my reserved equipment was overbooked is completly unacceptable. What was the point in me making a reservation 2 weeks in advance if u-haul is just going to screw me and overbook the vehicles anyways? Unprofessional and only added extra stress to a day that didn't need it.

Wrong information about pricing and equipment given to me when I reserved this, your customer service is basically “ so sad, too bad”, ignorant and arrogant , I specifically asked for bars and straps, I was mo big a piano, which I told the person on the phone, she said bars came with the 15 foot size trucks and larger, I get there, your stupid people did t even know what bars were, they thought they were the the metal strips attached to the sides of the truck, never ever will I suggest you people or use you again.

The steering of the truck was so misaligned I had to hold the wheel sideways in order to drive in a straight line. Halfway through my trip, the steering on the front left wheel stopped working altogether.

First of all I had to wait over half an hour even though I made a reservation. You should have agents outside with wireless devices that can print the contract and have people on their way in 10 minutes. This is 21st century technology. Second, you charged me $10 for insurance which I declined when making the on-line reservation. Last, return was a mess. It is 1 or 2 overworked employees and she tells me to do the return on line. I go online I could not find the procedure. It was a horrible experience. Also the trailer had debris inside and was very old (rust, noisy, etc.).

The rental process was quite long, perhaps reviewing the number of staff could be beneficial. I understand that it may have simply been a spike of clients when I arrived but it is a small suggestion. All in all the service was quite enjoyable.

The service counter was so poorly organized and slow that I will never go back to the Lachine location. As a matter of fact I will warn everyone I know who looks to rent from Uhaul how inefficient the service desk is. The poor ladies who had to deal with all those clients and no help. There needs to be some serious work done on customer service at this location.

Just as a general advice for your website, I believe it would be good to write if parking is available on location or on the streets next to the location. I wasn't sure and took a chance, but that can impact the experience.

At busy times, you should have more staff. The processing time per customer is too long, I had to return the following day as there were 10 people in front of me and one person working. I waited 1/2 hour and the CSA was still processing the same client.

Hi , overall was okay. I tried to change the per authorization date. When I called , the agent said to go ask the store. I drive to the store they say we cannot it’s impossible. With tax it was suppose to be 120$. Because of the faulty pre auth I paid 135$-150$ mostly. In 2020, I am so baffled that we are not able to change a date : /. But to me it was just a scam to charge more. And that’s why my rating is much lower. Hopefully this feedback will help you improve your services and maybe not benefit from people.

The representative who we dealt with was very rude, has no idea of what customer service really means. She souldnt be in contact with customers. I told her that I spoke with another person about the one month promotion and she said (in front of other clients waiting in line): "il est nouveau, il sait rien". Really not professional to say that even if I was the only client there. She really screwed up my experience with Uhaul and because of her I would tell my friends to avoid HER if ever they go to the Lachine facility.

Plenty of carts - staff was seen cleaning the premises. Everyone was friendly and explained process well. I would add disinfection station or a sanitizer pump near the carts - ALOT of people touching, not cleaning!

Hello, My main concern with the lack of answers for phone calls from Lachine. They have NEVER picked up the phone, it always went back to central. PLUS, central does not give accurate information. And / or the information does not get relayed to Lachine. I had lost the keys to the storage lock, I called and called to speak to Lachine, once again, they didn't pick up. Central lady said that each location was equipped with the tools to break the lock - which turns out (as I had a team of 3 movers on the clock, just waiting) they did not, and mentioned it was against UHaul policy. I had to call for an emergency service, which cost me $275, for a locksmith to come and break the lock. I am extremely disappointed with UHaul in this regard.

The only reason i don't give a 5 stars is because the waiting time to get service is really, really aweful. I waited 45-50 mins in line just to get service even though i and a reservation. I understand doing contracts with people takes time but being understaff in a month like this, i mean it is moving festival now. All i wanted to do is get my moving done. The wait got me so angry inside that all the good deeds a friendly staff was not even important at that point.

I had rented a storage in Montreal Centre Ville at first, I had made the reservation on site. Then I made a change of date by callin U-Haul. When I went to rent the storage, they said the modification can't be made by phone (?????) and that there was no storage unit that I had reserved, when I had done it on site at first !!! The person didn't try to help me... I had to go to Lachine to find a storage unit. At Lachine, the woman that took my order was very bad at being polite and being professional. SHe didn't help me either and was very mean with my order placing... My experience with U-Haul is very bad. I hope not to use your storage units in the future.

I had to let them the keys so they could move the car. They never moved the car and when I went to get back my car the battery was die. I explained the situation to « manager ». I’ll never will go there again, I had to please them to let CAA get in to tow the car!!! The manager JEREMI is so arrogant. 2/10

Hi there, let me explain my one star review. I have had booked, for 1 April, a storage in an other facility (Cite 2000 Montreal) and no one called me to tell me to come and take possession of the storage unit. I left my credit card info, my phone number and my adress, as requested. With all these infos, I understood that someone From u-haul would call me as soon as they have an available unit. But it appears no one called. When I presented myself to the office, I faced a young man that did not care at all about my case and just repeated like a parrot : we do not have unit left sir, it works like this in u haul. Without even trying to understand my situation, not listening and not proposing any solution. He clearly did not care and is not suit for working in customer service. I have noted down his full name and send a report to the complaint section. I’ll let know everywhere how I was treated at the office.

The one big negative to our experience was the difficulty getting information on how to cancel our contract. I called customer service and was told I had to go to the warehouse. Drove 20 minutes to the warehouse and was told take a picture and come back when the locker is empty. Drove home another 20 minutes. Went back after the locker was empty (20 minute drive) to learn that the account had been closed by one of the employees. In all, 1 hour and 20 minutes of unnecessary driving. Clear, concise information about the process would have made this experience excellent.
