my experience was waiting with 3 other people in line as the shift changed. being told that someone would be right with you. 25-40 to pick up the truck. insurance was just to toss 28$ away thankfully didn't need it, the insurance. the truck had so many previous x marks on it wasn't funny. Dirty, windshield broken, wipers busted. best part was the ac it worked amazingly. returned it better then i got it.Charles I.

I called to say I would be a little later in the day, due to me having to work. The associate asked if I could have it back before 6pm because there was a reservation for that trailer. I rented a 20' one way to California I could tell this vehicle was one that the location was happy to get out of inventory by the sorry and very used look. It only had a 1/4 tank of fuel and with in 10 miles the fuel light came on telling me only "50 miles to empty". Having worked for U-Haul in the past I knew what to look for. THE AREA MANAGER WAS THERE AND HE WAS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE ASS THEN A HELP!! HE WAS TAKING STAFF AWAY FOR PET PROJECTS INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM SERVE THE CUSTOMERS!!! The back latch was really difficult to close. They also charged me $20 for fuel when I went a grand total of 14 miles and put in 2.5 gallons so there was more fuel than when I started. The manager was supposed to call me but never did after I called letting the rep know about the overcharge for fuel. So, I am still waiting for a call but I can't imagine that anyone even reads these reviews so I am no holding my breath. I will have to call again. Uhaul seems a mess!!Bryan D.

I dropped the vehicle off 2 days early and made a point of calling to notify the receiving UHaul office, and was told that of I arrived before 8PM I would receive help and confirmation of the dropoff. When I arrived, there appeared to be noone checking vehicles in and I was told that those people were outsid handling checkins. After finding noone, I dod the mobile app check/in and then I had to ask a person who just arrived and seemed to take no interest in the new vehicle returned, and they said they would handle everything for the checkin. After such a long rental and drive, and after complying with returning the vehicle to UHaul's office choice, I fully expected greater attention to completion of the return.Duncan F.

We primarily use The U-Haul off of Hayden in north Scottsdale due to its close proximity to us. Their customer service is substandard and the GM is unprofessional to customers. We use this location at 19th and bell because they had what we needed a 6 x 12 enclosed trailer. The staff were amazing with outstanding customer service both at time of rental and at time of return. Fast and efficent check in and check out. This location needs an accommodation and should be recognized by uhaul corporate as a model for customer service to be replicated across Arizona. Be sure to hook up the dolly equipment properly. My mom and I drove 10 hours after hook up. We stopped in New Mexico for gas, and a tow expert let us know that the dolly was hooked up incorrectly. He stated that the chain was dragging and was amazed that it had not caught the back of the 10ft truck as they were loosely installed around my SUV, which we hauled on the back of the 10ft truck. To note that all of this would have been avoided if u-haul would have provided me the hitch that I ordered twice and was guaranteed delivery two months prior. Hands down the most terrible experience that I've ever experienced with a company. The people are nice. The business aspect is less than average.SHARNELL C.

The truck was full of ants - both inside the cab and inside the box. Personnel at the location confirmed this. I would have thought as a customer courtesy they would have at least given me a little refund for the horrible condition of the truck - it was not a few ants- there were thousands - like an entire colony was living in the truck. And now they are in my stuffSTEPHEN W.
I will be contacting someone in regards to our experience and how unfortunately poor it was. 1. We were told to pick up uhaul at a location on 43rd and camelback. Upon arrival we did not have a uhaul to pick up at this location. This in turn caused issues with the movers we had scheduled. 2. When getting to a location we had to drive that was 30 minutes away, we then got to experience over a 30 minute wait just to get to speak to someone. It was about another hour before we were situated and able to drive away with uhaul. 3. Upon arrival to Omaha, NE in regards to our storage unit, again we had a reservation and they didn't have the storage unit available. The general manager advised we would get into 2 at same price and now I'm seeing charges for 2 storage units at a price that is well above what was discussed. 4. We picked up a vehicle that had 1/4 of a tank of gas. Out rental agreement apparently told us we had to fill up to 7/8 which is absurd considering how much gas was in truck when we received. In turn we filled it up to the amount on our agreement which is inaccurate based on what gas we had and then uhaul really charged us the remaining amount to fill it up. We followed the contractual agreement yet saw another charge. I will be contacting further as this caused such unneeded stress to a time that is very stressful when someone is moving across the United States. I We went with uhaul knowing it was more expensive; however, was hoping the experience would be better than what we have used before and I cannot say it has been.Lincoln P.

I picked up truck on Friday at 6pm and drove off lot to house Packed up furniture and items packing truck . Drove to storage location, unpacked then drove back to the U-haul location . Total miles driven was 39 moly . When I got my email receipt they said I drove 132 miles . When up to Uhaul deal today to have them check . Odometer showed that it was driven 131 mile . I as that they check to see what the mileage was at the end of the last rental for that truck but your employee refused . Will be filing complaint with BBS and AZ state attorney's office for scanning people .Paul R.

I went to pick up a 4x8 trailer i reserved for 6 hours. First they didnt have the trailer so they upgraded me to a 5x8 at no aditional charge. Then they charged me 2 days. Great facility. The manager of the facility is an incredibly nice man - welcoming, helpful, kind, understanding, accommodating. I watched him 40 minutes before closing on a Friday night with 5 customers in the store take care of each with professionalism, calm, patience and humor, while acknowledging the others in line.
