Guy working counter used yelling to tell people only 5 allowed in store. Issue is that the shelves and piles of cardboard meant you had to walk in store to see how many were in store. Would be an easy fix to make more visual.kent P.
Highlights were that the staff were very friendly and the truck functioned mechanically well. The disappointing aspects were that the moving blankets and dolly that had been requested at time of booking were not available at time of pick up. The exterior of the truck was filthy, although the interior was clean. The driver's door was in desperate need of adjustment so it could close fully.Shawn B.

I took the truck, fuelled it and within 30 minutes its broke down, actually not starting. Called the agency for a replacement truck, they said they dont know what to do and asked me to contact roadside assistance. When i called them they they are dispatching someone in 30 minutes which is not happened. Finally contacting them for 3 or 4 times we gor the mechanic and he tried for almost 1 hour to it going. So we were later for almost 4 hours which is tooooo much who hired the truck from a trustworty company. Very sorry to say.. Really disappointed from this experience.Jinto J.
Very slow pick up process for my reservation, Covid complicates things, but only 1 person at the tills so had over a dozen groups in line. When I arrived, the agent had just given the truck I was assigned to another person. It made the digital check in a mess - wrong truck, wrong mileage, didn't get the blankets I'd booked. Also, I booked the truck for 24 hours. When I arrived at 6 pm, the agent said, â€œwe don't loan trucks for 24 hours at this location, you need to have it back by 7 am.â€ This was a problem because all my moving helpers were coming in the morning. It turns out the system allowed me to have the truck for 24 hours, but I didn't appreciate the panic she created for me.Janet F.

Location was great. Ordering for pickup was absolutely horrible. They canceled on me and when I called back for confirmation and book trailer a second time, it was canceled again. I called a third time to book and was told they didn't have a trailer available.Michael G.
Punter lady was excellent. All 48 bins I rent weed where filthy and covered in labels and tape. Spilt fluids,hair,garbage and other garbage in every bin. Spent a day cleaning the bins before we could even pack.Art C.

I am disappointed, for the money spent.. I reserved a dolly and there weren't any, but the worst part is the cab of the truck was disgusting, filthy dirty . Used masks under seat, old food on the floor. We had to request gloves and disinfecting wipes to clean the steering wheel and handles.. the wipes were almost black after wiping. It's covid 19 now a days and stressful enough moving, not to have to be worried about filth and safety. The last complaint is, the gas was on 1/4 full so the next worry was finding a gas station right away. The only positive part were the staff and that they were friendlylyndsay F.
I picked up my rental truck from sihem market in Edmonton but they did not have the dollies I had requested. I had ordered two utility and one furniture one. Then they recommended that I go to this location on 50th St. to rent the dollies I needed. However 50th St. only had appliance dollies. Overall my experience was exasperating although the employees were helpful and sympathetic. Also the person at sihem market did not go over my truck rental agreement details but just gave me the keys. Additionally they gave me two keys but only one of them worked. Actually have the reserved equipment available. The app does not work for self dispatch - very disappointing. Truck assigned to me not found in lot - I was sent walking around rubber building numerous times 5hen eventually given a new contract with different unit. No dollies or carts available, for which location took no responsibility. Was told general manager would contact me, yet still nothing. Very disappointed. Terrible experience. The gas gauge did not work and showed empty, I was really worried that travelling the Anthony henday that we would run out of gas. When I picked up the truck I had prebooked 2 dolly's 2 box wheelers and 10 cloths but they only had 1 box wheelers and said the other stuff wasn't returned, why do you have prebook unless you know it is available. they charge me for roof damage but when i take rental pick up i check the pictures and compare but the damage they charge me on the roof scratches that you cant even see if you just take a look i dont like it at all the way they do like when you pick up you do inspection by yourself and i am not perfect in inspections if i miss some scratch or damage then they take advantage charge the customer and make money and when you return they do brief inspection I will tell everybody even on social media about this scam of u hual rental on 50 street dont recommended at all and not coming anymore to uhaulgurjant B.
There was a line up of roughly 30 people at any given moment, with minimal staff working. Everyones pickup time was for 9am, I was there in line, 8th person, and I didnt get my truck until 10am. Then they were allowing people to cut infront of the others, because they had made an online reservation, which we all had. A disagreement with the Uhaul representatives then occurred, between myself, and other parties in line, as this wasnt at all fair. I would suggest that you have someone help people who need boxes seperately from people who have booked vehicles, to use time effectively. I would also suggest, that someone if possible walk the line and check people in fully with a tablet, and then the only requirement to be inside the building would be for payment, but even that is possible with a wireless system. Better yet, would be a kiosk system for people who have booked online to go and complete what they require and have the key drop, or a door open like a phone charging port at a mall, to save time. Uhaul seems to be stuck in the past, and it actively shows where the disconnect is.Brenda V.
Booked at a specific location cause wanted rental for 11:00am. Tried calling that location 2 days prior, no answer. Drove to location and they verified that rental was good. On rental date, arrived to pick up and was told nope, had to go elsewhere to get and time had been moved to 1:00pm. Very poor system regarding notifying clients of changes. I was instructed to go to this location after getting a phone call from the original location as the unit I needed was not available Upon arriving at this location, I went through the procedure, set up etc, went to locate the vehicle and found out I was given the wrong unit, went back in side, stood in line for another 20 minutes, also, this location was inconvenient for me, so that was another 20 minutes out of the way, now the search was on for another unit -- 20 minutes later a unit was located -- I wasted nearly an hour and a 1/2 getting set up -- no argument with the gal that set me up other than she should have noted the reservation. I would still recommend this location but would suggest to anyone to do a follow up before going out to the original reservation location.Calvin H.

When I arrived at this location I asked for the 10' truck the agent with the tunnels piercing in her ears acted like a robot, she had only one answer your request is not available, i can book it for you tomorrow after 7 Pm and i need credit card!!!! what's a dumb answer. i had to leave and I called a different location and the agent answered the phone was very helpful and here is the difference in customer service. the agent told me that he doesn't have my request but he can help me with booking different options at any location close to my house. he booked me the 15' truck at the location where i was denied originally. I went back to the 50 street location to pick up the truck and on my way in i saw the girl with tunnels piercing whisper to her college. during the process, i know what she whispers when her coworker asked me for a contact number and she called my wife to check that gave right contact !!! what is the hell is your problem people?!!!!! is this even legal or right?Ahmed M.

Nobody answers the phone if you have questions. The rates are higher in Edmonton than moving from out of town. When returning the truck it's a big mix up and everyone is running around. Had to wait close to an hour to return.Kathy B.
The staff was great once I was able to get a hold of somebody. To make a reservation I had to call four times and was on hold for quite a while. The day I rented the equipment I needed to contact somebody on site and it took me to Kohl's in an hour and a half on hold to get a hold of somebody. The trailer they gave us had a broken wheel tie down !! Told us the tie down was NOT IMPORTANT and WASNT NECESSARY !!! Had to tell her several times this was not ACCEPTABLE OR SAFE FIR OUR VEHICLE !! We had to be very assertive to her and demanded a another trailer as we would not take this one. Finally given another trailer but we spent 1.5 hours there which resulted in having to be late for our movers which resulted in having to pay additional cost of $200 for movers to wait for us !!! Very Stressful. The guy that helped us was very good even tho he had been on the job only for few days. The lady staff became very passive aggressive towards us after demanding a safe trailer. The confirmation email on the website only contains my name and the confirmation number. It would be helpful for it to also contain other details of the rental booking - location, time, vehicle, etc. This would reduce the call volume on weekends, as I had to call and confirm it all and was on hold for a very long time. In the branch for pick up and drop off, staff were competent and professional, but were obviously short staffed as everything took far longer than it needed to if they had more staff around.Christie L.

I have been emailed an accident claim and I was not in an accident at all. The unit was returned in perfect condition yet I'm being presented with a bullshit bill for something that didn't happen while i used the unit. I find this completely unacceptable considering I got a call the day after I returned the truck to ask where the keys were cause they couldn't find them but got a call after saying they found them. They were put exactly where they asked me to put them, so why were the keys lost and then found and now a damage claim that I know is 100% not from me. Just very unprofessiinal and absolutely no proof that this so called damage happened when the unit was in my care. I am going to be sure to tell everyone i know that Uhaul has no idea what they are doing and blaming an innocent customer for something that they did not do. I gave $100 deposit and due to the wind, we used $150 in gas and the uhaul guy charged me $80 because the fuel was just below what it was when we picked it up. Excessively long waits for staff assistance, there were always large uhaul trucks parked in the way of the “drive up storage locker” and would have to go inside and request them to move the truck, and there was mouse poop all over the floor of the unit with no barriers to prevent mice from getting in. I had made online reservations, and for some reason the associate could not find them. I had to go through the whole initiation again with her. I also signed up online for the free lock promotion, but they didn’t have any in stock so I had to purchase a lock. The hold ups and disorganization is a typical experience at this location. When my friends had rented an indoor unit a few months back, we had about an hour of wasted time trying to deal with the swipe card not working for the facility, having to return in and out of the store to get help from an associate as nobody was willing to come outside to help deal with the problem, and the alarms going off constantly. Everthing was good except when the uhaul people in Calgary confirmed our 10 by 15 storage unit for us for 215 then when we got to Edmonton and they said we had no reservation for a storage unit so we had to take a 10 by 18. But it was 240. So we said okay we had no choice cause there wasn't any 10 by 15 left. My only concern relates to your practice of charging for the month. In my case I vacated the storage locker prior to the end of the prepaid month. I expected a partial refund of my monthly payment.
