Honestly, the number given to call for drop off didn't work. Location said it was open until 9 pm, which it was not. Luckily there were other people there in the same boat dropping stuff off so we could work together. Being dyslexic and trying to sort through the paperwork and deciphering how to set up a Uhaul account was tricky for me. Process took way too long, and the drop off location was way out of my way. Definitely need one on the south side of Edmonton as well, and both drop off locations should be staffed around the clock to assist with returns. I am hoping to rent another Uhaul here in a week or so to move stuff from storage To my new shop, however, if I can't return it to where I picked it up and am forced to go back to that location, I will be finding another rental company.Sean B.

They told me the truck had 1/4 tank it had none!! The fuel light was on, I couldn't even see the mileage until I filled up. That also differed greatly from the paperwork they gave me. They didn't do a walk around or walk through just hooked up the trailer and took a picture of the hookup and sent me on my way.Jason P.

Check in to work as intended (had to redo check-in after getting to the location even tho it was approved already online) Please ask in advance for a "friend" phone number at the online check-in or at least let me know I will have to apply a friend phone number! It was really annoying doing it at the location in the morning especially when it wasn't mentioned online anything about needing one!Szabolcs R.
It would be nice to see more tie downs lower and upper inside the unit for strapping things down. Also a Jack for hooking up the trailer. The trailer was excellent for towing.Barry M.

I don't understand why the uhaul staff had prepped 3 moving trucks for customers but mine was parked far away, covered in snow, not ready to go, and when I let the staff know that the instructions did not specify where the truck key was, the staff member was rude and disrespectful towards me. I will never return to this location and will make sure I let anyone who asks know that if you want to be treated well, to not go there. Very disappointed by the rude lady staff member.Kristopher M.

One of the employees crashed a uhaul truck and blamed me for the damagaes! After I paid for the insurance and everything and I seen the damages where the wreck was done but nothing was done or said about it and the employee ended up with a raise! And the employee they call nick is a terribly rude over bearing employee with no respect to the patrons of uhaul! Steve O on the other hand is the best employee that uhaul has to offer he was the most helpful and respectful employee at that branch and I just thought that he should be recognized because he is an amazing hard worker!!Melissa S. | Overall Experience

Have the vehicle ready in a pickup area instead of parking the truck in a very tight area. I had to fold the mirrors in to get out of the parking spot. There was nobody to spot me as I backed the truck out without mirrors either.Ryan G.

Rented a pick up for a 4 or 3 hour rental. Rental was to start 4pm. Picked it up just past 4:30pm. The store ( u-haul ) was going to be closed when my rental time would expire. Still got charged for an after hour drop off... Not at all happy with that. It was also Never mentioned that there might be an extra charge for an after hours drop off. Perhaps I should have kept the unit till the morning. That would justify the extra fee. I'll consider renting elsewhere from here on out.Kelvin D.

I suggest you get better customer service reps. This is not toward the location but the phone reps were terrible, I got put on hold for 20 minutes then transferred to someone else and put on hold for 10 minutes, then I was hung up on when I started explaining my problem. I use uhaul a lot and I am very very disappointed and probably will never use it again as there are local rental companies in my area. Again nothing toward this location only toward the customer service with uhaul.Adam L.

The first two people I dealt with were really helpful and friendly. The last one I chatted with was accusatory and pushed my frustration level even higher. I was VERY surprised when I returned the truck and the staff member told me there was a charge for 100+ miles over. It made no sense...a few miles because I deviated from the most direct route to drop some stuff at my Aunt's but there is no way that I was over by 100 miles (20 KM at most) When I went inside the staff person was very friendly but unable to give any explanation and basically shrugged. I was very frustrated at this point and realized that as I didn't take a photo of the odometer before I started my trek (my bad) and didn't perform a odometer check on the road...not sure how I would have but I will know how if I ever am in a position where U-Haul is my only choice and I have to get something done. I said "Fine, just charge me the extra fee. I am so done!" I then turned to the people in line and said "Make sure you document everything, you have to protect yourselves." This is when the other staff person barged in and accused me of being aggressive. I suggest here that you train your staff better to understand the difference between frustrated and aggressive. I explained to her that I was not being aggressive but instead was warning other customers to make sure they document everything and protect themselves. The lady who had accused me of being aggressive continued to escalate and told me that I was telling people that U-Haul was "crooked". I wasn't. I told her that I wasn't and that all I was doing was warning people to make sure they documented everything. I explained that I was not angry and that my frustration had nothing to do with them...I said this to each of the three people, including the lady who was escalating the situation...rather I was incredibly frustrated and I was sorry that they had to work for the company. I can't say that I would never rent from U-Haul again, although my suspicion is that I won't be able to because I have complained, as the are not always other options. I will say that I will continue to tell everyone I know that is planning on renting from U-Haul to document every single aspect as this was a VERY unpleasant and difficult experience. I suspected this would happen, Its very similar to past experience I have had and it mirrors many experiences I have heard of. Bascially, U-Haul has a market that has no competition so the service model is set-up to take advantage of people who have no options.Jason B.

My issue is this. I wanted a truck close to my location and when I booked it online it said reservation guaranteed. I booked the truck only to find out later that I can't get it at my location and that it was available on the other side of the city. I payed 55$ for kilometers instead of about 18$.Kristian G.

Staff was exceptionally excellent during both pick up and delivery! (I've used U-Haul several times and this has never before happened...) The only downside to this location is the terrible parking lot. If that situation could be rectified, my rental experience would've been a 10/10.Jacquelyn M.

Have trolly and dollies available upon pick up. I scheduled these tools and when I collected the truck I was told they are subject to availability. I have a bad back and I was really relying on those tools. Our move took twice as long without those extra resources.samantha G.

I rent from uhaul on a regular basis. Usually a couple of times every month I rent a 5x8 open trailer for 24 hrs. Yesterday I rented one and then plans changed. I brought the trailer back not quite an hr from when I picked it up and explained my situation and still got charged in full.... I really think that I should have had a refund.... TERRIBLE SERVICE. wouldn't recommend or want to use this service myself ever again. All personnel from the in-store staff to customer service seem very incompetent at their job. Some of the most clueless people I've ever talk to. First they send me a notification that I had checked out of my storage unit when I wasn't even in town and still had 2 more weeks left. I called them several times but no response, eventually I had to drive 3hrs back to town to make sure all my belongings were still there. When I got there they told me my locker was broken into and was empty so they replaced the lock on it. They went looking for the keys but 20mins later couldn't find them. The staff I was dealing with didn't look very intelligent so I lost confidence in them and took it upon myself to walk to the locker and have a look myself, sure enough my key worked and all my belongings were still there. Then 2 weeks later I was moving my stuff out and had made a reservation for a truck a month ahead of time, the day before my truck rental I received a call and I was told the truck I had made the reservation for wasn't available and I'll need to drive 60km out of town to pick one up. I didn't have a choice so I went to pick up the truck, but when I went to return the truck to the location I had picked online, I found out that they had also changed the drop off location to a place 40km away from the location I had reserved online. Called customer service several times to resolve this issue and every time I called I came across someone with their age higher than their IQ. Eventually I realized it was a losing battle, you can't reason with those that aren't equipped for it.Hassan T. | Overall Experience
