The equipment was excellent . The Personnel at this location we're average and seemed unmotivated and just going through the motions. Nobody really seem too happy that we were there doing business with uhaul. We were told their system would not allow us to book a rental for the full time peroid we needed the equipment. We had to do request an extension which was granted and then a second extension which was denied. This caused major problems to the project that required this piece of equipment and further tainted our rental experience with U-Haul. The store could not produce a paper receipt for Return of the equipment and we had to rely on an email, so until we received an email we had no proof we would return the equipment in good condition and on time. That is a bad position to leave a customer in. The equipment was great the experience was mediocre at best.GARY H.

I was pulling a trailer to our cabin 200 miles from home on a round trip. My grandson who'd just flew in from Chicago & who I'd not seen in 18 months due to COVID & my wife were driving separately. I purposely stopped at this U-haul dealer 2 days early to confirm as to when I needed to return the trailer - & he told me 4 days later. My wife was there as well. Then, 2 days later, when I came to pick up the trailer, a different person told me that I had to have it back in 48 hours. I argued - but to no avail. He said he would try to get it lengthened and would call me, but he never called. So I lost 2 precious days with my grandson while the others are up at our cabin in Pinetop. To make matters worse, 30 minutes before I arrived home, I got a text from someone at the U-Haul site where I rented that was totally screwy - I never did understand it. He called me 'Highwood bird' rather than my actual name and told me I had another trailer ready to pick up. How idiotic. I was furious over the error-prone system at U-Haul. It makes me never want to rent from them again! My wife and grandson are still in Pinetop and are cutting their trip short to be home with me. Meanwhile I sit at home until they arrive. These screwups were on U-Haul's part, not on mine. For losing 2 vacation days and time with my grandson - they took $25 off my bill. Big deal!Howard B.

This location called and asked for our trailer back a day early. They had another customer who needed it sooner then our drop off date. We agreed to bring it in early. When we asked for a discount because we didn't get our full 3 days and brought it back at uhauls request we were denied. That's not great customer service.Brian I.
This was a lousy experience. I reserved a 6x12' trailer at another location 10 days earlier and received an email verifying the rental at that location. When I arrived, the owner of this location at 87Ave and Bell Rd, in Peoria, AZ, told me I was at the wrong location and that a supervisor called several days prior saying that I had to pick up the trailer at 67Ave and Bell Rd. I asked why they didn't call me and she had no answer for that. She was not helpful. Just â€˜matter of fact' that I had to do this. I had friends waiting for me to help me move and now they had to wait, too. Very inconvenient. No thought from employees at either store location about compensating me for the inconvenience.MARTIN B.
I actually wanted a trailer to take some stuff to my home in Prescott Valley. I was told I COULD NOT take a trailer from Phoenix and leave it in Prescott Valley which was what my rental was for. I was made to take a very small open trailer instead of the enclosed one I had reserved and was made to bring it back to Phoenix! It ended up costing me DOUBLE for the trailer in rental fees plus gas in my truck to bring the trailer BACK to Phoenix. Very unprofessional of your rental company and I am VERY disappointed with U-Haul.Thomas K.

One of the workers at the desk has poor customer service skills; he was talking down to the gentleman ahead of us (probably because he was foreign born. He constantly told the other customer: â€œ...listen to what I am saying...â€ . Frankly, I was ready to reach across the counter and grab this guy by the collar and tell him to treat the customer with some courtesy and respect. Somebody should go in as a customer and evaluate this worker ; he is middle aged and about 6 ft tall.JOSEPH E.

Had the worst customer service experience ever, had a employee literally throw the keys to our rental on the counter, walked away from the counter, go outside and start throwing tools and punching walls, because, after the 4th time complaining and making negative comments about management at another location I made the comment that I didn't want to listen to it anymore and just wanted to pay for my rental and leave. Sorry but not kool! The gentleman needs serious training in customer service!!ROBERT R.

Showed up at original location to pick up reserved truck (19th Ave. and Bell). We're told that it wasn't there yet. Waited 45 minutes, before hearing the same employee tell another person that if they wanted a truck, he could get them one at another location. Went to stand in line again, and after the other person declined the offer, the employee then made us the same offer. Would have been nice if he had made the offer before, but at least we were now getting a truck. When we arrived at the second location, an employee was having an intense conversation with a guest explaining why they no longer had a truck for them. Puzzled, we went to the counter and received our truck. However, we were told that the truck would have to be back an hour before our original time frame. Which would make for some quick moving, but again at least we had a truck. When I got into the cab of the truck it smelled sanitized, but the inside of the truck didn't appear clean. Started to drive away only to realize that the AC didn't work. Well, to be accurate air would only blow out of the defrost vents. It is Phoenix, and it was a toasty 97 degrees, but at least we had a truck. All-in-all, it served its purpose. It held the items needed, and got us from point A to B, and back. I was able to leave the trailer on the property after hours, but I had to leave it in a different location from where I was told because all of the returned trucks were blocking the entrance. I was worried that someone could take the trailer or the appliance dolly inside it. It all worked out, but there was still a concern.SEAN M.

I would give this location an excellent rating, however, I was scheduled to pick up my van at 530am via self-checkout. I got to the location at that time and clicked pick up my vehicle, then I got a message saying I had to wait until the store opened at 7am. I'm not sure if this location has self pickup and if not, I shouldn't have been able to schedule a 530am pickup. It put me behind schedule 2.5 hours; other than this snafu, all went well and I was pleased with the vehicle and the customer service at the location.Sandra L.

Location, crew and equipment was good. UHaul website needs serious work. I went online to reserve a trailer for 5 days. After checking out I saw the confirmation was for only 4 days. When I picked it up and told the staff that the confirmation was incorrect they told me that meant the trailer was not available for 5 days and that the website automatically changes the reservation. You NEED to tell people if they can not get the time they need, this really messed up my plans. BE CAREFUL WHAN BOOKING!!!Jerry L.

UHaul was having computer issues when we picked up and dropped off the truck. This made the experience less than optimal during our all ready hectic moving time. Then we needed to come back in as you lost our payment information since the computer was down when we returned the truck.James S.

If equipment is returned before length of quote customers should be prorated and refunded. For example we were quoted for 7 days going from AZ to OH with a 6x12 trailer but did it in 4 days.Jason S.

Idk if I would recommend or not. I can say my experience with Uhaul has been challenging. I was offered a discount on the miles due to change in pick up location. I was given a 5 mile credit. That covers the distance between the two locations for one trip, not the two I had to make. Also, I overfilled the gas tank. I didn't even get an acknowledgement. Very disappointed.Kelly C.

Got a unit on the second floor but wanted one on the first. Guy in the office said there wasn't any. Spoke with a lady in the unit area as I was looking for a cart. We talked about the units and told her I was disappointed I couldn't get a bottom one. Apparently she's the one who cleans them out and took me to one. Called the office and had my unit switch. The after hours return process was terrible! 1. The signs were good for equipment return, however when I pulled up to the stop sign and went on the website, it showed a map with a tent. I drove all around, even back to the loading doc area looking for a tent. I am a 61 year old female returning a truck, by myself, at 8pm at night. I did not realize the stop sign was under the tent, because it was dark, and I was looking for signs. Finally pulled back in under the tent by the stop sign. 2. You have to take 2 photos when returning the vehicle. The first one is of the front seat. There was no bench or place to put items I had with me while I took the photo. Luckily, I had some bubble wrap, which I layed on top of the garbage can to hold my personal items while I was taking the photo. 3. It said the 2nd photo was to be taken of the empty back of the truck. I was exhausted from moving all day and refused to open the back of the 15ft truck for picture. It said 2 photos were required, so I took the 2nd photo of the passenger side of the front seat. 4. The tent area is not very well lit.CHERYL U.

It wasn't this location that sent me here. I was sent from the one at Dunlap Rd and I-17. There I made contact with a lady that stated my reservation was converted to a 24/7 Truck Share. I proceeded to attempt the pickup via the link in my email. The web API had a call to a non existent feature, then told me to check in at the counter. At this time, the employees had left for the day. I went to the chat then the lady on there said to go to your store. The truck had none of the equipment I needed, so then I got the equipment at the other store. I didn't get to move any of my stuff, and to make matters worse, the manager I spoke with Sunday just after noon asked what I would like done, and proceeded to apologize for my situation... But offered no further resolution for the misinformation, nor for the trouble I was caused for having to leave my truck at your store. I'm kinda glad things turned out this way... I just wish I had a higher credit limit so I could have extended it a day or two... The money was there, but the hold wiped my credit profile entirely. When I reserved, it was for a specific location, with supposedly the equipment I required; but, was changed to another location. I never received a specific notification that a location change had been necessary; and, had I not noticed the change in pickup address and called to question, I would have gone to 1st location. When I did go to new location, they didn't have the equipment I had reserved and said they hadn't had for over 2 weeks. They then found a 3rd location, who when I arrived actually had equipment I'd reserved. When I went to return equipment, they were going to charge for an additional day, based on reservation pickup time vs. when I actually was able to get the equipment.. When I questioned additional day's charge, they finally reversed the third day's charge. Definitely not my best experience with U-Haul.Richard K.

I have had the storage unit for about 3 years. I did not just move in. i have had automatic payments set up for several years. My last payment was not automatically taken out, so I received a late notice with a late payment fee added. I called and the late payment fee was taken off but this should not have happened at all. We have several uboxes stored there, each picked up at different times but when I picked up some I felt like I was a burden. Then my wife reserved a 10x10x8 storage unit several days in advance and yesterday when I arrived I came to find out there were none available of what was reserved. I had no choice but to take a bigger one. Nothing was done for the inconvenience of not having the size we purposely reserved and I had to pay for the upgrade I didn’t reserve or need. But # 1 priority should be to keep customers happy.. I have no idea what I encountered or what my end result chrge is. Ive always rented with uhaul and this is BY FAR, MY WORST EXPERIENCE. JOHN, supposedly the GM is unavailable for communication and states it is only up to 'storage' for my servies.. 0 stars for this unit in 2020. The GM John was excellent help. I had to deal with 3 different UHaul location to pick up the truck at one, pick up the car transport At another and now the storage units. I was very disappointed with the first 2 locations who were very unorganized and made it a hassle. Johns location was A night and day experience. Over all a great experience. If the access hours were through midnight it would be a 5 start place. AZ is HOT and loading or in loading late in the evening would be much better.Elias R. | First Impressions

They say I moved and checked out - the guys didn’t thank me or wish me well. During the year I rented I did have good service. Dan was exceptional. Also I had a table and chairs that were up front for 15 minutes and I called someone at the front office to say I would be back for them and they disappeared. That was the only compliant. We had our things in your location for about 6 years. I lost my husband Allen to cancer, almost 2 years ago. It's taken me this long to emotionally deal with it. I am alone and 60 and when I got 1 of our 2 units empty they still made me pay for both units due to it be combined, which I knew nothing about. It took a horrible hardship on me, had to use my electricity bill money. Times are unbearably difficult. But other then the financial ending of our relationship with uhaul, I still give them a 5 star rating, it's not their fault I'm a broke widow with no help.ALLEN S. | Overall Experience

The reason for below average rating is that no one at the facility showed us how to access facility after hours. No one let us know that there are two entrances. Main one in the front of building and the after hours access in back of the building. Showed up to move daughter's college dorm items at 8:00pm and could not access building. Had to call u-haul customer service who had to track down after hours manager who then explained how to access building afterhours.
