Hal and his team are the best in Tucson AZ, if not all of AZ. In 3 years and over 30+ rentals I never have any issues. Can't say that about the other locations in Tucson. I would not recommend Uhaul because you ripped me off for two days worth of rent when I had the truck for 16 hours only. Give me half my money back and I will change my recommendation. Also when telling a customer a manager will call back, maybe actually have the manager call back.ROBERTA S.

General manager was excellent. The billing system had charged us for an additional day even though we returned the trailer on schedule as per our reservation and receipt. He did what he needed to do to resolve the issue and showed us that our balance owed was zero and emailed us our receipt. Very satisfied. As to how you can improve service for the next customer--don't accuse your customers of lying, honor their wishes, and don't add unwanted charges to their final bill. I received the receipt for my recent trailer rental by email after I returned the trailer. The receipt included a charge for insurance, which I had not requested. I phoned customer service about the mistaken insurance charge. After an hour on hold, the customer service representative answered and had the manager of the branch I visited join our call. He accused me of trying to get out of the insurance charges after I had returned the trailer without any damage. He denied that I had turned down insurance, although no insurance charge is included on the UHaul equipment contract printout he gave me when I rented the trailer. The equipment contract reflects the charges I expected. I will not do business with this location again.JALAL S.

The uhaul â€œpick up before we openâ€ option is horrifying. I spent over an hour at 7am trying to us your failure of an appt to log in, get the keys, prove (again) I'm human and take pictures. The app never loaded, always got stuck. I had to repeat steps numerous times never actually getting it right. A person called me (which is nice) but actually offered no assistance other than â€œtake a pictureâ€. I called customer service. After a 30 minute wait, I got a man that basically ignored my issue and transferred me to the location (which was closed) I even told the guy the location Was closed but transferred me anyway. I got the locations voicemail â€¦. Because they were closed. This experience was tragic, a failure in every conceivable way. I explain this to a person as another checks me in and they say oh yeah it's terrible at the end of the month. The app never works for anyone not even usâ€ this error cost me over 500 dollars in moving expenses as a result of the delay. A disgrace.STEPHAN R.

Worst experience EVER! I have never rented a U-haul. This was my first time. And this experience has made me not want to ever rent from U-haul again. I will look for alternate methods of moving in the future possibly other companies. The trucks really should be test driven Before their rent it out to customers to ensure that they are in good working order. I got a truck with the alignment that was so bad the steering wheel Pulled to the left. And I know that that causes poor gas mileage. I also according to the people who checked the tracking was 1/8 under where the gas level was when I took the truck which I find hard to believe. I had expressed my disappointment with the mechanic working at the track and I was told was you should've called roadside assistance and a mechanic could've come out to look at it. And then one inconvenienced me by having to go pick up another one? Having that issue with the truck I was also been told that I owed $18 and changeFor fuel charge and I had just put gas in it and left the receipt in the truck. But again was told I was 1/8 under warranty the gas level was when I picked it up a â€œâ€ manager Wasn't any help at all. And not very empathetic. In fact he was very condescending. Originally when I came in I was really impressed with the worker who helped me find stuff and even called another store that had a specific thing I was looking for so for that customer service 10/10. However I was disappointed when we returned the vehicle and were told we were due for additional mileage charge even tho the gas tank line matched up where we started, saying we did 50 miles when we actually did 18. It was dual ownership in that I didn't check the mileage noted before we started and just blindly trusted that it was accurate. The manager was able to finally adjust it for 24 miles which was still over what we went but nice of them to do. It left a sour taste with using uhal moving forward. I know I will always check my mileage now but it ended up costing close to 80 bucks with the gas paid for an in town use for only 5 hours and short distance. Very different than the advertised 29.95 after all the charges it seems other companies have more affordable option. The uhal mileage chart seems silly like double charting you for mileage and having to refill tank better deal when you return to different cities with unlimited milage. Uhaul was filthy and the rep. named Damien forgot to put the dolly and hand truck I rented in the trailer. I could not drive all the way back to Uhaul to pick them up and had to do an intense move without them, hurting my back and being in intense pain throughout a cross country move. Very unhappy with this location, mistake after mistake since I began using them back in January for multiple moves and hitch installation.ASHLI F.

David went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us with a concern. We rented a trailer for a move then noticed some lingering electrical issues with our vehicle. It sometimes takes a couple of times for the engine to start, which did not happen prior to the trailer rental. After we explained our concern, David immediately offered to check out our vehicle, testing the brake light/turn signal wiring that connected to the trailer and going as far as to clean the battery terminals under the hood and suggesting that we replace these or the battery ground wiring to see if that resolves the issue. We had already seen a mechanic who said our vehicle passed the battery, starter, and alternator checks. We appreciate David's excellent customer service skills and genuine concern. The general manager (Hal) had a cocky, I don't care attitude. Like he was on power trip. When I asked him if they had a dumpster for the tenants to use, he said yes. But it'll cost ya $15. All I had were 2 boxes (that were torn-down/flattened), plus 1 (15 gallon) bag of garbage. For $15?? He told me if I didn't want to pay, I could dump it next store (in their dumpster). I thought, Wow, that ain't right!? Now, this is after I just spent $1400 on a 15' truck (plus another $450 in gas) to move across country. Only to find out when I arrived that all my stuff, at the back 5' of the truck...was all wet on the bottom. By the way...he acknowledged that. It's just the principal of the whole thing. The staff, no one seemed to know how to do anything, telling me I had to come back when mgr was there. Even when I said call main office , they'd say they're out to lunch or dinner. 2 young men diff times acted either totally stoned or I'm sorry mentally extreme slow. Staring at puter doing nothing making us wait. For nothing. I was given a credit instead of a refund for unused boxes etc but they'd never let me use the credit, either cuz I can't use it towards storage rent or truck. But when I was buying supplies then it didn't work come back. This is even with whoever is acting boss that shift. Mgr seemed to be drugged or ? at times too. Everyone came in was frustrated, everytime I had to come in, often at times. Mgr leaves alot it seems never there. When he was he was nice. The premises itself felt safe and at time good loc but due to staff and how it's all run, I'd never use it, in fact I have moved out. The times I've had to use the main office it's been great, including this last time where without any hassle at all, I was given my immediate refund on that useless credit. Ps.. I was there about a year and all I said never got better in fact worse. I don't understand why you're letting such a prime loc be run by stoned vegetables idiots, including it's 'upper mgt' down. The facility and staff was great. One complaint is that they force you to buy a special padlock. They claim the reason is that these locks are more secure. This is not true. The round locks they force you to use can be broken in less than 5 minutes with a drill. I'm pretty sure the reason they require these is so they can get into a unit (with a drill) if someone stops paying, etc.Richard B. | Overall Experience

I found the experience pulling a 5x8 trailer with a car very taxing on gas mileage. Normally I get 25 mpg. I only got 12.7mpg pulling the trailer. The drag is tremendous. Perhaps you could offer a wind foil that attaches to the roof of a car to reduce the drag and increase mileage. I Imagine it would help with Your profits also.chris k. | First Impressions
