I reserved a 15 ft truck. Less than 24 hrs before Due to pickup truck. Only 20ft was available at a higher rate. Then was charged more because Uhaul changed the drop off location. Uhaul added an extra day added because " they just do that" This is Nothing but BAIT & SWITCH.

AARON JInitially I had a reservation at this location. The truck was going to be late so they sent my reservation to another location in N. Augusta. When we went to the N. Augusta location the truck was not there as it had been rented earlier in the day. I called customer support and was sent back to the original location and was told that I would receive a $50 credit since the truck was not there. The Broad St. Location said they could not apply the credit, since they had a truck. All this run around cost me about 2 hours and made me late for a furniture pick up. I think I should at least receive the $50 credit.

Sean HRented for 4 months. Issues began from the start. I reserved a first floor unit online for one price, but was told it was actually isn’t on the first floor and it would be two units (i.e., split level). So instead of honoring that reservation price, I was told I could reserve a different unit that is actually on the first floor for nearly $50 extra per month. I was on a deadline to get my stuff stored and needed a first floor unit, so I was basically forced to accept that new price. With insurance I paid about $62 extra per month. I was supposed to be in a climate controlled building. There was a huge leak and it was humid. The woman manager at that time, assured me that the water was from a “heavy rain the day prior”, they were getting someone to patch the leak, and that my unit wouldn’t be affected. So I moved my stuff into the unit next to an exit door, took pictures and videos, as a precaution. Four months later, I’m moving out and my mover informed me that my unit had been burglarized. I’m in a different state, so I call to speak with a manager the next morning after my stuff arrived and could confirm missing items and to inquire about video surveillance footage. A different male manager, seemed defensive stating that there’s only cameras at the entrances and exits not the hallways. My unit was by an exit. Also, the day prior (on my move out day) I was told by that same manager that I would be receiving an email by the end of the day closing out my unit. I did not receive that email, so after I asked about the video surveillance and filing an insurance claim for my stolen items I asked about the email closing out my rental. He rudely informed me that he was on the hall my unit was on trying to check me out but since I requested to speak with a manager he was not able to complete the walkthrough. It’s not my fault that the male manager told me incorrect information the day prior. If he felt inconvenienced about speaking to a customer about their unit being burglarized, inquiring about video footage, and filing an insurance claim then maybe he should not be the manager at this location.

He missed one of the items I had paid for (packing paper) and I did not realize it until I reached my destination. Despite all of the formalities of filling out forms online and all of that in advance, I needed to go through all of that again together in person as though it was the first time. It was time consuming and confusing. Further, there was confusion over where the trailer would be returned, as the system did not seem to be indicating that the location I had already reserved was still available (it was). It was confusing for the associate at the counter who in turn made it even more confusing for me. This was not a positive experience.

STEVE LI reserved the truck at 5:30 and did not receive it till 6. The app crashed mid check in and I did not get to fill out the information regarding mileage, condition, etc. the time to get my keys took over 30 minutes, and at one point I was left in the store along (no employees or customers). The trucks AC did not work, and in the Georgia summer heat, that’s inexcusable.
JASON CWhen I made my reservation I told the attendant I wanted to reserve a 10' box truck. I came 2 hours early to pick up the truck. The attendant brought me a van. I told her that I had reserved a box truck. She said to me in a very sassy manner that the van was what the order indicated. I ask her if this could be changed. She said no that all the box trucks were taken. She did not offer to get a truck from another location. Which there are many locations around Augusta Georgia. I went ahead and used the van which did not hold all of my load. When I finished and topped out the fuel I put in 6 gallons of fuel. I only went 27 miles. What kind of mileage is that? When I checked the van in at 1:30 pm which was 1 and 1/2 hours early, the attendant told me to just leave the van and he would check it in and I would get an email. At 6pm I received a call from an attendant who said I had failed to turn in my rental. After I checked my email and didn't find the email I called the office to find what was going on. I was told that I would receive an email momentarily. I waited for it to come and knowing that the office would close at 7pm I tried several times to phone the office. Finally I got an attendant who said it was coming soon. So I waited while he sent it. For some reason I am very frustrated. I know I will not use the Broad Street location again.

I put a deposit down and was allowed 270 miles and went 190 miles and they said I was not allowed a refund because it was one way. So was told when I got the truck I was going to get a refund if I didn’t go over the miles and put the gas back where it was.

JOHN SThe truck I rented had 75000 miles on it. The exhaust needs attention, possibly a new muffler, it was quite loud. The truck idled roughly, a tuneup would be good. The AC functioned, but needs a top up of refrigerant to cool efficiently. And finally, I was disappointed that there was not cruise control on the vehicle. 8 plus hours on the road without it was torture. Budget and Penske vehicles I recently rented had cruise control.
Gerald MI forget who helped me out but he was cool, dispute the fact that I showed up at his location instead of the one I set up the reservation for...then blamed it on the stupid, relentless upsells when ordering a truck but that's beside the point. Or is it? Hey if you can fix the stupid upsells do that too but really... This was a very uncomfortable ride (my entire 14 hour trip) definite shaking in the steering at any speed, I believe it said air ride equipped on it but holy hard as rocks batman! I think I may have ran over an acorn and it was like I just kept a boulder, likewise, a small rodent later on, felt like I hit an elk anyway, you get the picture. Shocks, suspension sucks, something up with the front end alignment or steering. Fix it if you want, I don't really care either way. The odds of me ever seeing that exact rental truck again are nil.. So whatever. May be nice for the next a$$hole that does rent it to long haul his families precious cargo across 7 states in 14 hours (not to put a number on it), to get a truck that has been mechanical checked and verified to be at least somewhat comfortable... End rant.. Ohh wait and before you say, "Well you could have just stopped at any one of our one gajillion locations natio.." just stop. Had to drive overnight.. Whole thing. Thx Chris

ROBERT HI ordered a 15' truck 1 week in advance, my pick up location was moved and when I arrived to pick up my 15' truck the associate stated, "oh we oversold our trucks, we don't have one for you, but we can get one from neighbor county 2 hours delay" I said this was unacceptable. He did give me a 26' truck no uncharged. But if you order a particular vehicle then have the vehicle ready for your customer. I will not be using Uhaul in the future
