They took extremely long to give me the truck standing out for 30 mins before someone offered to help with getting my truck, and gas wasn't full when I received it, I called when I left and was later charged poor experience and will never use Uhaul again

Customer service does not exist at this location. The guy who rented me the van was also the guy at the counter who spoke to me when I returned the van. He was dismissive and rude. I went inside to get a receipt after returning the van because the guy who checked the miles & gas was texting and didn't tell me anything. While he was walking away I asked him if everything was ok. He said, "Yeah. You good." He never told me what I was being charged or asked me if I wanted a receipt. When I went inside the guy at the counter wouldn't give me a receipt and didn't take the time to even tell me how much I was being charged either. He kept asking me why I was in there. He kept telling me I needed to go outside and ask one of the guys outside to send me a receipt via email. He had the same attitude when I rented the van. This place lacks professionalism and they don't value you as a customer. Don't rent from here.

Was red directed to another location by Uhaul phone call bc 2800 Broward didn't have vehicles, even though I had reservation. . Upon arriving through traffic, agent at other location had my RSVP but would not give me vehicle bc she has pre existing reservations for next day. As she stated "You probably spoke with Pheonix, but it wasn't me, and they d that all the time but it has nothing to do with me" That agent sent me back to original location, 2800 Broward, through highways and traffic again, where they rented me vehicle after all. I called back Uhaul and voiced my complaint and was rudely told to call CS. I called CS and was given a claim number by CS. I hope you are able to repair this now soured relationship that I suddenly have with Uhaul and I will accept refunds.

I ordered a dolly and o didn't use it, yet the manager still charges me for it. P.S. The dolly was not tied down in the Van. It was lay loose all the way.

I made specific arrangements to make sure that our company card was charged and to make sure and not charge our employee for this rental. I was assured that would take place but NOPE payment was still demanded from my employee. SUPER Disappointing! I sure hope that both the company credit card and his card were not charged for the same thing. I will make sure that our Accountant follows up on this. Way to let me down guys. :(

Don't give your customers the run around! I went to the broward location they had "no trucks" so I call uhaul get a reservation for pompano beach store 26ft truck. So I drive up there with my reservation. They have no trucks but they say that the broward store has a 20ft truck so I'm doing what I can now at 2pm renting a 20ft truck, not what I had reservations for so I do what I can with the truck has to make more trips with a shorter wheel base and height difference in the box. So I turn the truck in and get waxed with mileage charges I feel like y'all are running a scam on those rental charges

The guy who came to check me out wanted to charge me for the gas even though I showed him the gas level was at the exact level I took the vehicle. I had to go inside showing two other employees the pictures from phone before they actually egreed that I was right. He was actually rude to me, and I think he needs more training and more professionalism so that he can provide a better customer service. Thank you

I'm very disappointed that Uhaul charged me for four miles extra because we had to come off the high way in Charlotte to find a location to wait for Roadside Assistance. The agents showed no empathy at the location and acted like this was my fault because we went over the miles by 4 miles. Absolutely piss poor service.

the parking lot is sort of confusing. We had to drive around the building and it ended up putting us in the back of the long line that formed while we made lap. It was very busy so maybe think about putting larger signage to explain the return line process closer to the entrance .

Rented a Truck prior to Hurricane Irma. Needed to drive from Broward County to Palm Beach to pick up storm shutters. When I picked up the truck it had just under a quarter tank of gas. Almost ran out of gas waiting in long lines to refuel before I could even go to Palm Beach. Trucks should have at least 1/2 tank of fuel when customers pick them up. When I got fuel I filled the fuel tank so that the next customer did not have to go through what I did. I hope U-Haul did not tell the next customer to bring the truck back with a full tank.

I am a regular user of U-Haul services and am generally happy with the service offered. With my recent truck rental I found that the cigarette lighter outlet did not have power so I could not keep my GPS charged which was very inconvenient since I had several addresses to find during my 7 hour rental. I had to take an extra hour because of this. I suggest that all vehicles are checked to make sure this feature works since phones and GPS are an integral part of business.

The check-in process is a little weird because we are greeted by someone to let us know not to bring the contract papers inside. there is no sign to say 'stay with your vehicle or rental product and someone will help you". You need this to save time in the check-in. I believe this procedure can be improved. Just to let you know, your store is a lot more friendly and professional that the store i normally visit in Pompano, on Andrews avenue. Thanks Carl Forbes

Second time at this location in less than a week and another bad experience! I already gave a review for the first time, so lets go for the second round. Everything was ok, until the return! So I get there, got the van ...when we are checking the van, the employee realizes that the mileage was off for 111 miles more, so none of us had a pen so she said that I'm good to go, that she will go inside and change it...well that didn't happen. When I got back to return the van at 7:01 no one could help me cause I was late (by one minute), so they told me to just leave the key. Next day, got an extra charge cause supposedly I drove a total of 140 miles. I called to explain the situation and whoever answered the phone was rude and didn't help me at all...she said to go into the store to dispute it, cause it was what it was. So I went to the store and spoke with Vanessa. I explained to Vanessa what happened and that I only had driven the van for 27.8 miles and showed her everything, she was very understanding and took her time to figure everything out...she tried reaching out to the manager but the manager didn't answer her, she kept working on the number and looking into what I was saying and fixed for me. So I want to commend Vanessa for her customer service and professionalism...unlike the person who answered the phone earlier that day. Since I've been to this location twice in a week and both time had issues, I'm not planning on going back. For now on I will drive a couple of extra miles in order to have a better customer service experience.

We kept getting a low tire pressure alert, we had to go back to the facilty (wasting our time) to get air ...for then to happen again after driving for 10 minutes or so. We called and it was noted into the account as we wanted to change trucks (we ended up no changing it cause it wasn't worth our time). Then after returning the truck ON TIME, we got two calls later on the day asking for the truck which had been returned already (person calling was rude as she was very deminding even though we kept saying that the truck had been returned). Talking about return, when we returned the truck they ask for us to check all the lights and signals and every thing else, something that was not asked to do when renting the truck.

What sucks is being charged, at flat rate of 2 days for a truck I only needed for 1 day. Why you can dictate what amount of time is needed based on what you think is needed is unfair. We moved or daughter and her friend to college in less than 10 hours, by carefully orgistrating the move, but feel I have been unfairly charged.

My Uhaul truck was not ready at the time it was promised, causing me to be an hour delayed for my move. This would not have been a big issue, however, I hired movers who were ready on time and I had also scheduled a service elevator in my apartment building for a specified time. This delay caused my moving day schedule to be completely disrupted, and I ended up having to pay my movers for going over the time I had booked them for.

We had to wait while the Guy employee left his truck in the way for 3 mins & gave me attitude when I told him I need to return my truck before 7.00 pm. The Rep I got my paperwork 07/29/2017 very polite & friendly. The Rep I spoke with Monday 07/31 /2017. I believe her name was Doris or Dorothy becuz I was overcharged was rude & laughing & kept arguing with me & didn't want to transfer me to a Suprv she hung up on me I had to callback & be on hold .

Better customer service...my son was told there was no uhaul there for his reservation in which he had a confirmation called the 1800 number was told to go back because there were 3 available trucks went back same thing he was told he's on a waiting list finally spoke with regional and he was able to get the truck after 3 hours and several back and forth trips to the rental place

We had to rent a motorcycle towe our bike was left stranded so it was nice they had plenty in stock last min . What was upsetting is that my husband was in such a rush he forgot to tell the person at the counter that we needed a one way. So when I called and explained that he was in such a rush because I was I hurt and had been on the highway for 2 hrs waiting while I was hurt sitting on the floor in the middle of i95. In heavy traffic. They refused to allow him to return it to another loc. That would have been closer to where we needed 2 be... because of this small human error and lack of willing to work with us this put me back from getting the care I needed to get at a hospital. So instead of getting there at 6pm I got to the hospital almost at 9pm... So sad since my husband could have droped me off and taken the trailer to the one next to the hospital in Hialeah.. very upsetting that they don't care about that and just the extra $$$$ .. I hope that they are never in pain and need help just to be told u have to wait .

I ran over my reservation time, was told that I was going to just be charged for another day of rental, but then the rep called my phone 6 times between 7:20-7:37 morning after I told him that i was going to make some calls to get the truck returned. He gave me 10 mins before he started to blow my phone up. Then got rude with my brother when he tried to explain to him, why I went over on the time. This call was at 7:37 am.

I did not want my truck to be reassigned, so I began calling the store to let someone know that I was on the way but of course no one answered. I called at least five times and still no answer leading up to my arrival to the store. On the initial visit to pick up the truck I've noticed that there wasn't any structure in the store in regards to directing customers to the registers, so the customers were just standing around trying to figure out which representative was available to assist the customers. Once I made my way up to the front, the rep walked away from the counter and said someone would be available soon. Then everyone kind of just stood there until another rep decided he was ready to take on more customers. My boyfriend and I put gas back into the vehicle and cleaned it out before we returned it . The next day after my account was charged again for a charge seemly too high, I had to then call the location and request my receipt to see what the additional charges were about And was placed on hold for a very long time. After I had to request my own receipt I noticed the I was charge for fuel and a $25 cleaning cost which is ridiculous because we cleaned and refilled the gas. We then called the store location ponce again and started explaining to them why we shouldn't be charged and the person who we were speaking to hung up the phone on us after yet waiting a very long time to speak too someone yet again. It was very disrespectful and for that I can no longer use uhual and will not recommend that location. I ended up spending way too much than what I budgeted for, and quite frankly we were not pleased.

I was trying to return a one way truck so called uhual and was told the wrong address so was stuck driving a 26' uhual with a 12' trailer all over town to try and find this location. This 35 mins of driving caused me to burn some of the gas I had put in put in which was above where it needed to be 5/8. Upon returning it I saw I got charged an additional $30 and saw the employee stated it was at 1/2 tank which is ridiculous. I paid over $1700 to uhual that single day and rent uhuals a few times a week for my moving company.

My experience renting a cargo van last week was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had in my adult life. I selected the self check-in option and went to the location referenced on my reservation confirmation to pick up the vehicle. I located the vehicle and began the process of confirming my identity, etc. through the app only to be informed that I needed to go inside to pick up the key from the agent. This would not have been a problem if the location was actually open. I called the 1800 number and spoke to at least 10 individuals whom I had tell the entire story too repeatedly one after another because they had no clue why they were being transferred my call. After about one hour, I ended up speaking with George, the area manager, who informed me that a cargo van would be waiting for me at a different location and a $50 credit would be applied to my rental. I went to the Broward location to pick up the van and, not to my surprise, was told that did not have any record of my reservation or $50 credit to my account. The only positive interaction i experienced during this fiasco was with the lady at the Broward location who assisted me with renting the van. She was polite, corteous and efficient, but most importantly to me by this point, this lady did her job. She was customer focused and got me in a vehicle. She was able to do in 10 minute what the 10 plus people I spoke with prior were simply unable to do and I am very grateful to her for taking ownership of the situation and remaining calm and professional while assisting a highly irate customer, me. Lastly, please let George the area manages know i still have not received the $50 credit he promised.

I will not recommend u-haul to anyone, i had a reservation and went to pick up the truck and when i got there i was told they did not have truck for me. After 30 min, the rep told me that i could go to a location that was 12 miles further to pick up the truck. Now I have waisted over an hour trying to get mu truck and no luck. I was supposed to be in Tampa at 11am. But due to the location of my pickup being changed, I didn't pick up the truck until almost 9am even though I had an appointment for 7:45. I had to drive from downtown Miami to the location that I requested, but at 11pm at night after I was already sleep, my appointment was sent to Fort Lauderdale which became a additional 45 minute drive for me. I am irate. Not only was I late for my moving schedule but the manager was so nonchalant that it made me NEVER want I use uhaul again as long as I live!!!!!!

I rented the van on June 10th at Central Park Postal in plantation Florida. Its 3 minutes from my home. I went to pick it up on Saturday June 17th at noon. When I go there the owner looked at me and said what are you here for. I said the U-Haul van rental I made on June 10th. He all my vans are out. He looked at my reservation and said oh yea you need to go to the main store 30 minutes from here and laughed. I said how can that be and he said look at the fine print of your contract. I can do what ever I want. The he turned around and left me. I had to drive 30 minutes to get the van from the main store at 2800 Broward Blvd. Very nice people there and they said that it was not right what that man did to me and they gave me a number to call so I can report this issue. I would not recommend Uhaul at all. I moved from a 2 bedroom apartment. When going by the online recommendations of either a 15' or 17' truck I went with the larger of the two. This truck was not nearly enough and as a result I had to make two trips (which cost me extra mileage and extra gas) in addition to having to pay for one more hour of help. This is very disappointing and frustrating to have to spend almost an extra $100 on moving when using the recommendation from the company. But then again I am assuming this is on purpose in order to get customers to spend more on mileage. I won't be using Uhaul for my next move.

The vehicle itself was acceptable and in great working order, but the representative at the location was not up front with what would happen if I kept the vehicle an additional day. The verbal explanation was that it would only be an additional $19.95/day, but when I returned it the manager changed it to a weekly rate which significantly increased the cost of the rental. ($240 on the original contract, $385 on the final bill, with an expected final bill of $280 at the most for two additional days.) I contacted the location via phone and they attempted to justify their change to the weekly rate and even denied that their employee informed me of the additional $19.95/day. The assistant manager informed me that "no one at this location would tell you that", which implies that I was not being up front with her. This was not the case so I contacted U-Haul customer service because it was clear to me they were not willing to handle this at the local level. After the dispute was entered into the system, the local branch manager called me within the hour and still tried to justify their reason of the $385 bill. I continued with my disagreement of this charge since this was not what was communicated. He eventually understood and stated he will refund me $100 back to my credit card. The main issue here is that the employee on the day of vehicle pickup told me the additional charge for the vehicle would only be $19.95/day, and then after the fact the rate changed and the total increased significantly. And my card was just charged automatically with the additional amount. I would have expected a call from a representative to inform me of this and not just an automatically generated email from the system. If an expectation is set up front, and it's contracted that way, the terms are not to be changed after the fact without any mention this would be the case. This is not good, honest customer service and is not fair to the consumer. I am appreciative that the manager is refunding me $100, but I would much rather have been told the correct terms and amounts up front and I would have structured my move this past weekend accordingly.

The main reason for my rating is the younglady behind the desk. The one that ended up helping is after the first one was so rude, disrespectful and completely uneducated. Not sure if she finished high school, however, she made no eye contact, would not answer when I asked her a question and seemed like she was very inconvenienced when I came in to pay! I am shocked that she can work at UHaul. I was born and raised in Broward county and use UHaul all the time, but after my encounter with her, this shows an extreme downward plunge in your customer service. I felt like she would hold me up any minute with a gun, as if she was from a gang instead of collect my payment! Now after over 20 years of using UHaul, I think I may have to switch. Maybe management needs to be switched because I am not sure who in their right mind would hire someone like that to be at your front desk and help customers. Very disappointed.

The clerk in the office provided the wrong key for my reservation. I went through the entire inspection, process and then realized that the mileage was way off. Then had to wait again for a new vehicle. It was a long line of issues with UHaul for issues with the SR84 & I95 site not having my vehicle so I was happy to actually get a vehicle even though it was a hour later after all of this. I rented a trailer 6x12 enclosed, waited for the woman behind the desk to acknowledge me for ten minutes, Before I could pay her for it. After I loaded it I noticed a flat tire( back tire on driver's side if I do remember). After I had that fixed at pepboys on the road, I stopped at a gas station, I was told by a passing dude that I had a brake light out. Upon my inspection I realized that I had only one taillight. I played with my connector, and cleaned all the terminals on trailer light harness.). I had 1 taillight, and no way to rush back and drop off trailer before my 24 hours were up. After a bit of haggling, the manager came and comped my second days rental fee..... I had to let him know that I didn't mind paying for 2 days if I could have used it 2 days. Plenty of work to do and your trailer is bigger than mine. But I didn't feel right driving somebody else's trailer in Miami rush hour traffic, with one taillight and a low tire.

The staff there are very unprofessional. On their cell phones, talking, the phones were ringing and they just let them ring. When I got to the truck, someone was just getting out of the truck, which means they didn't inspect the truck. I drove the truck to the furniture store and loaded my furniture, when I got to the place to unload roaches were everywhere coming from every corner. There was also cooking oil or car oil in the back Of the truck. I called the customer service number to see if I can change the truck and we couldn't get in contact with the Broward Blvd location, the customer service rep said the phone was just ringing. I was able to get a different truck which made my move successful.

The inside was not cleaned, ropes from previous customer still attached. Different sized tires (according to the receiving agent this should not have been given to a client because it is a hazard). Additionally, one tire was inflated in excess of 60 psi while the other was at 52 psi. Tires clearly reads that the maximum inflation is 44 psi. My believe is that when the last client returned it, no one at the pick up facility took the time to inspect the trailer for the basics. When it comes to this facility customer safety is not a concern... Very disappointing and sad. For your safety, do your own inspection before you take on the road.

I made a reservation for pick up at 11am, vehicle wasn't at location until 1pm. This delay caused me added expenses and when I requested to have the $50 guarantee fee given back to me (they had a sign that stated if they do not have the vehicle there at reservation time you get $50), I was told no by a very rude employee. I will never rent at this location or recommend this location to any family or friends.

The trailer I reserved was not available so they upgraded the trailer to a size that was too big for my vehicle. When I stated this to the rep at the store, I was told it wasn't a problem. The give the trailers of that size to people with my car type all the time. Once on the road (with the EMPTY trailer) it was very evident that not only would my vehicle not be able to handle this trailer at higher speeds, but my engine would not be able to handle the load once the trailer was loaded with cargo. I ended up having to make alternate arrangements for a towing vehicle which in turn cost me more time and money.

My experience was horrible. At first I was supposed to pick up at 9am from location THE BLUE STORE on 19th street. After waiting for over 2 hours for the guy to show up i was told that he didn't have a truck. I called the uhaul customer service and was hung up on 4 times. I was even put on hold for 12 minutes. Finally at 1 o'clock after being on the phone for hours I was given another location which was far from my house. I ended up having to pay for more miles. Iam very upset. The whole experience was horrible. I will never recommend this company

The contract I signed said I had 5/8 tank of gas. Then when I return truck they said final paper noted 3/4 tank of gas. Okay my cost then for gas was small on return of. truck, but after I put gas in the truck based on the contract I signed which was on my mind, this ticked me off. You can't say one thing on signed contract & another at. dispatch & expect the customer to be happy!

No spare tire or jack in the truck - we tried to use the roadside assistance , and when they said it would be an hour and didn't show up yet after 3 hours to change a flat tire - we missed our flight to our honeymoon. Beyond inconvenient and as far as customer service- when we went to return the truck, they had the audacity to complain to us that there was some dust in the back of the van ... after we spent 3 hours on the side of the road

Alicia is a star and should be recognized. After realizing the mileage issue I went in to see her. She was friendly, helpful and inviting. She called the pick up location which was closed and then corporate to help me. A decision was made to wait for today. She came in on her own time to help make sure the manager was aware of the issue and to help get it resolved. Once resolved she called me and walked me through the events. This is customer service. She worked to keep me calm, tool ownership of the issue and got it resolved. Simply outstanding.

I went online I went online to book a reservation for U-Haul HR my car and $1 to whatever the fee was for nobody can tell me other than environment feet and I haven't even run it the truck now I get the rent the truck they charged me $54 and some change okay I needed the truck for extra day okay I was supposed to charge the same amount of money for the extra day besides that extra mileage the extra mileage was about 21 miles extra on my charge because I estimated 25 miles per day so that's 50 miles I did 89-58 charge me for the whole twice twice

My problem was with customer service booking the truck. The agent gave me the wrong information. I had to travel a 45 minute in 5pm traffic. I book the truck for my son to pickup I asked the agent repeatedly if he could pickup without me being there she stated all he needed was his driver license and he would be able too pickup without me. My son arrived the girl at the counter told him I had to be the and said she had to go on lunch to eat her noodle and hotdog. The whole experience was a disaster. I was so mad I call and made a complaint to the 1800 number. The agent told me someone would get back to me in three days have not heard anything. Shame on UHAUL I will never rent from uhaul again. I had rented a trailer for a Sunday, returned it the same day a 12:30. Closing time was at 5pm. Person that did the return did not check the trailer in on Sunday. I found out because I received a call on Monday asking me if I was going to return the equipment. I was worried, I didn't want to get charged again. Lady on the phone told me she would verify. I called back later that same Monday, a very Rude lady told me my equipment was not checked in on Sunday. We had to have dropped the trailer after 5 of Monday morning, witch is impossible because we have proof our payment was made that sundays at ten time we stated, The staff who assisted us are where not responsible. And the lady on the phone who assisted me was very inconsiderate of my situation. Bad customer service. Overall the place is good but hose ppl -1

Call back location, some man answer & states that this was his job, transfer me to customer service then they claim they got to notify the store manager tomorrow which wad in until next week. There was a rude skinny black african account manager that was very rude.Dont understand what the attitude for, if my name was on my card plus I used my card there before. Its the same bank card. I of to go to the bank & draw money then claim I must bring military ID back. I am not even in the military. Then she expect I was going to go back home for passport. I did not appreciate the fact I was told insurance covered me and the uhaul that's why I purchased it .and a customer with the actual motor vehicle was parked in the uhaul drop off were it said no parking only for uhaul dropoff and as I beeped for him to move so I could get around the uhaul slightly scratched his vehicle however he was in an illegal parking area and then uhaul told me that has no than to do with them just protects there 33,000 dollar truck next time I take my business else wear it was quite stresful after what I went thru this year with a physcotic landlord I didn't need that unnecessary nonsense. I will not be a returning customer ,it is uhaul job to file for a claim with there vehicle then tried to over charge me on a 24 hour rental I paid when I rented was not told I'd owe anything ! Horrible experience and I've used uhaul before this time not a happy customer .Word of advice : insurance is useless

I waited outside for someone to bring my equipment for 10 minutes. The guy came and helped the man that was AFTER me. He never even asked who was there first. So I had to wait an extra 5 minutes to get my equipment. This location needs more staff and better customer service.

Truck cab was dirty, auto transporter had a screw in a tire found during my pre-trip inspection, repaired before leaving, ratchet tie downs were are to operate from lack of maintenance. Trailer brake/taillights stopped working delaying my trip by 2 hours while waiting for roadside assistance. 2 blown fuses caused by chaffed wiring harness on the trailer. Trailer needs an overhaul. Informed drop off facility of the issues.

The girls that work here are great but dealubg with call center is horrible what info that is on the PC is not. What happens at location and customers get messed around I have being a customer for 18 years renting 6 months a year...and very unhappy thinking of bribgibg my business elsewhere as Uhaul is inefficient and expensive plscontact me

Rented a truck and some equipment yesterday without any problem. They were more then happy to charge my company card to cover the bill. Today we needed to rent just some supplies and a hand truck to finish the job and we were there at 7:00am sharp to make it to our customers location by 8:30 am. Despite trying to contact them for 2 days, they made it impossible to pay for the supplies and hand truck over the phone, saying that I needed to leave my office and come to their location to show them my company credit card before allowing my people to pickup the equipment. The results of this lack of customer service and support are now a problem for myself and my company. The details of which would now fill a book. Thanks for your lack of help.

This was one of my worst experience with uhaul. I was suppose to tow my car with a tow dolly and it had a flat tire so I had to spend $80 in gas to return to get my car. I never received my blankets neither and it was never removed from my contract. I will need my credit for $59, $9, and $10

The only problem I had was when I checked the truck back in I was charged almost 4 times the amount I should have been charged. Mavis credited me back, today I talked with Mike the Mgr he assured me that everything was taken care. he was gracious about it. He also told me if my bank was over drawn because of the employees error to let him know and he would straighten it out with them

Two young ladies were helping customers. The one that helped us originally actually hung up on us after telling us that they had no trucks. We went in anyone and unfortunately had her again, Laquanda(sp) was her name. She was very rude when I questioned the price and not helpful. Her colleague , Aisha, was very helpful and took over. The manager was helpful and found us a truck. If I had listened to the original girl , we would never had gone to this site. It was unfortunate the poor customer service could have lost them the business if we hadn't preservered and continue to the site

Its more of a general problem with the state of disrepair of uhaul trucks. There's always something... broken fuel gauge leading to running out, dead batteries or in this last case broken cabin light and bad handling.
