Although this specific location was very kind and understanding, I originally had my reservation for the Allendale location. Without informing me and after I had received a confirmation email, someone at Uhaul changed my pickup location and did not notify me. That day, I showed up at my scheduled location and was told there was not a truck for me and the employee told me " I don't know what to tell you " and sent me away with the customer service number that never answered or returned my call. My experience made my moving day so much more hectic and stressful than it needed to be. Tell your customers when you change their pickup location to improve for the next customer.Payton M.

I have had bad luck at this location but it's the closest. I never know what to expect. The new phone applications help but I had an employee incorrectly install a hitch a trailer four years ago and only discovered that after driving 1100 miles. This time they almost caused an accident with their truck because they didn't want to move a trailer. It ended up okay but it's always something.Kendra M.

Worst experience I have ever had with a moving company will never do business with uhaul again after this. Not only did i pay 2400$ for a 20 foot truck and car transport trailer but upon paying for the truck and was told I had to hook trailer up by myself, truck was a wreck when received can't even see out of the windshield when raining due to the wiper blades streaking heavily. Steering wheel was crooked to the left about 90 degrees. But leaving at 2 o clock in the morning for my 15 hour drive the trailer lights do not work what so ever. If you are going to charge amounts like this uhaul at least have your equipment working properly and maintenance wise taking care of. Will not be doing business with uhaul again nor will I recommend uhaul to anyone.if your going to charge a premium price all customers should receive premium serviceTroy W.
The truck had issues maintaining speed and was dangerous on the highway due to it and the brakes were not good. We tried calling customer service and were on hold for nearly an hour and never reached anyone. The location we rented from also did not answer. Since it was late and dark, I did not feel comfortable driving it back so I waited to the next day and tried to inform the company. Ryan has poor customer service skills. Every time I have gone into this location, I've had to wait longer periods of time to be waited on. The trucks gas meter didn't work so when we picked up the truck it appeared as if it had no gas even though it did. The breaks hardly worked and the alignment was messed up so it was pulling badly to one side. We were also told to bring the truck back, park it, and then leave the keys in the dropbox. We were never told that we needed to stop the reservation using the app. I didn't realize until we were home and checking my missed texts that that was part of the process. We had to call the 1-800 number in order to stop the reservation. We were also told because of this we were subject to a $20 "parking" fee.Kaleigh M.

Well first of all don't give someone's truck away just because they are running a little late. Second you might want to call and simply ask your customer if they still need there 3 day rental instead of giving their truck away and replacing with a one day rental making them move an entire house in 14 hrs. This is the Burlingame (near 28th st) wyoming, MI location that I am referring to because the Byron Center location that I requested did not have a truck for me. They notified me the day before, which I assume is normal, albeit slightly annoying. The first truck we received had a dead battery. My husband tried to jump it (after telling the guy) and finally the guy gave us the keys to a new truck. The second truck had stuff in the trailer part of it that my husband had to clean out. The second's truck battery was also on the fritz. Last year we had a terrible experience with Uhaul as well (they made us drive to locations that were hours away and kept changing things - which made for lost hours) and this year was similar. Last year they did give us some money off of the rental, so I appreciated that. Unfortunately, Uhaul does not seem to be run in an orderly, competent way. (Also, the bathroom was disgustingly dirty.)Heidi V.

However an employee named Jared was amazing and bent over backwards to be helpful and problem solve when the computer system for self-storage wasn’t working. He was apologetic for the behavior of his manager and did a great job smoothing things over with customers when his boss was rude and impatient with them. I asked for a copy and was told it was an inter office email so I could not get one. fast forward 30 days and another invoice! The check in process was fine. After getting a flat 9 mins from our location we had to wait 5 hours for roadside assistance because not only did it take almost an hour to just get a hold of someone they got our location wrong sent after waiting 2.5 hours then had to wait another hour for a guy when the job took less then 5 mins to fix.
