The van had multiple dents that were not recorded on the pick-up documents. Also, the gas tank was almost empty at pick-up (only 18 miles of gas in the tank) - I don't expect the tank to be full, but surely you guys should check that it is not empty! Also, on the booking form, I requested additional items that you told me would be in the truck - they weren't, and I had to gather them up and carry them to the truck. While the location and employees on site were great, the overall experience with uhaul was atrocious. Switching our pick up location, time, and truck as well as leaving the boxes we purchased at the original location were all unacceptable and caused unnecessary delay and headache. there was something wrong with the gas when it was issued to me. there was only like 1/8 gas when they gave it to me & when I turned left & went to get onto the freeway, the gas light turned on. I went to put $18 worth of gas & about 15-20 minutes later the gas light turned on again. there's no reason the gas should've ran out so quickly. the 2 employees, girl with the blue hair & the girl with the eyebrow piercing made it seem like we were lying about how much gas was in there. why would I take a picture of the gas if I don't expect there to be an issue with it? poor service!Rose L.
The truck worked fine and was actually very clean. It was pretty old. This would normally not be a problem, but the headlights needed to be pointed properly and a check engine light came on for 15-second intervals. Also the rear ramp was worn out and jammed so that it took two men working hard to free it.JOHN G.

The first time the staff gave me a car key, I went to the parking lot to search for 5 minutes, searched every car, and then asked the staff to help find it again, there was no such car. I went back to the cashier to explain the situation, changed the key of another car, and went to the parking lot to find the car successfully. After starting the car, the tire detection light flashed and the tires were flat. I went back to the cashier for the second time to explain the situation and changed the car. The car keys of the three cars, went to the parking lot for the third time to find the third car, started the car, the fuel level warning light was on, indicating that there was a lack of gasoline, I went back to the cashier again, informed the situation, and the staff replied to all my cars This is the case, let me drive myself to the nearest gas station to fill up. I drove myself to a nearby gas station and added 2 gallons of gas, since the mileage I need to use in the car is very short, only a few miles, I only add 2 gallons of gas, which is more than enough for me. But after adding 2 gallons of gasoline, the indicator light on the fuel gauge is still on, indicating that the fuel level is low. I think maybe the fuel tank of this car is relatively large, and 2 gallons of gasoline is nothing to its large fuel tank. I finished using the car and went back to the rental location and I drove a total of 6 miles. Although I added 2 gallons of gasoline, the fuel gauge light is still on, so I can't get my remaining fuel money back. No matter how high the fuel consumption of this car is, it is impossible to use 2 gallons of gasoline for 6 miles, right? That's how the staff replied to me, because I didn't refuel enough to reach the line on the fuel gauge, so I couldn't get the extra refueling money back. Well, although the money is not much, it makes people feel bad. Moreover, after I returned the vehicle, I miscalculated the amount of fuel I used and deducted a lot of my fuel costs. After I communicated with the staff in person, and after I waited for the manager for 20 minutes, the manager kindly told me that they would Refund the excess deducted fuel costs. I wasted more than an hour here at least outside the normal work flow, although the staff are very polite and I am very grateful for their help, but the work efficiency is really too low, the customer experience is very bad . Very slow process. I reserved two trailers online which took 30 minutes with the Uhaul call center in New Jersey. Got to the Uhaul location and it still took another 30 minutes to get the order completed even though it was reserved online. That is unacceptable. 1 hour to get two trailers rented!?Steve K.

Overall a very good experience. Most everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful, especially Avonlea at Bayshore. The forklift drivers at Bayshore are also very nice. I teel that I got great service and value from Uhaul, will return. One critique is that everyone was not on the sane page. For instance they first told me I should send my ubox from Bayshore to Bryant st. Because that location was set up better for ubox, in fact they told me this transfer was scheduled. Then it did not happen. I got in touch with the regional office (everyone there is super helpful), the regional office informed me such a transfer would incur a charge. There were minor miscommunications and me having to repeat myself, make extra phone calls, wait, etc. all aling the way but I would like to recognize how helpful each and every interaction along the way, from Illinois to California.Joshua L.

Customer Service and yard support were great. Two recommendations: 1. Get a wash down facility so the outside of trailers can be pressure washed. 2. TEST every trailer pigtail BEFORE installing between the trailer and vehicle. I have now had two instances where the pigtail was a problem. The first melted my 7 to 4 pin adapter which UHaul replaced. This second one did not fry anything but it almost prevented me from being able to leave w the equipment due to a brake lighting malfunction. At first we thought it was my vehicle wiring. It was the pigtail. PLEASE do this, a bench test would be very easy to check for shorts and continuity on the 4 wires and connector ends. Thanks!ray B.

My experience with uhaul at candlestick has always been good especially with those working in the yard and at the desk. However, this last visit I was incorrectly charged for a full tank of gas despite returning the vehicle on full. Just a reminder to always check your receipts!Veronica B.

I was called 1 night before the reservation to be informed that the truck is not available at the confirmed location. I confirmed 3 times with the associate that 2 furniture Dollie's will be available for me, and she said yea. When I got to the other location next time (which was super inconvenient for me already), I was told that they don't have furniture dollies. So I had to drive to another location to get the Dollie's which again was miles away! It took me so much time to get everything together. Please have someone reach out at 775-297-2475lara H.

I ordered the wiring part since october 21. customer service make the reservation on october 25 for the wire installation at the U haul candlestick. They refused the reservation and said customer service and the facility doesn't recognize each other and they keep shifting the reservation from November 25 to November 28 Day by Day and the last thing they said was FedEx lost ordering packages and told me that it would take another 10 business days to order it again. customer service is really poor and unprofessional and keep giving fake promises which they can't handle. I arrived to pick up my rental trailer on Wednesday, Sept 28th. My trailer had been given away. The employee stated that their customer service overbooked them. I was then directed to 2 different sites to pick up another trailer. I was given incorrect information again and finally found one after driving around Phoenix. I then drove to San Francisco to find out that the storage unit that i had reserved was given out as well. I was left to take a unit I did not wasn't and had to store my couch at a different facility due to the fact that it would not fit. Very unsatisfied and left with a headache. Our unit was robbed during the hours where you were OPEN WITH NO SECURITY. The manager literally did nothing and seemed annoyed that we were upset that we didn’t want to ignor it. We had to take three days off of work waiting for cops because the manager refused to call us when they got there even though we live 10 mins away. The man who robbed our unit used a very loud angle grinder in the facility and no one noticed. Not secure. He also robbed other units and when I asked the manager if she was going to contact the unit she said no it wasn’t her problem which makes this tenants very unlikely to recover their stolen items the longer it hasn’t been reported. And after they figured out the other one that can assign to me, it is already 6:30, and they close at 7. When I first applied for the storage locker I was not pleased that I had to climb stairs to move my items in. It made the process very difficult and tiresome to carry boxes up stairs. I also believe that my storage fee was increased several times. My last comment is the large amount of Day Workers congregated at the front of the facility. They stand in sqaular all day and wave at customers as they drive in and out. There are also plenty of unhoused people roaming at the gate. The overall feeling of the environment was dismal and downtrodden. The inside of the storage facility was clean, however the outside environment made me anxious when I was on the property. I received the worst customer experience of my life in this facility. Your entire staff is unhelpful and unprofessional. Half of them were not wearing masks and when I asked if they had scissors behind the desk to help cut open the lock I just bought, your employee proceeded to try and open it with her teeth. They did not help me set up my scan card, just told me to punch in the date which did not work and caused the alarm to ring 2 different times. Everyone there acts like they don’t want to be bothered or be at work. Plenty of people that would be over the moon to have a job. Very unprofessional. The only thing that bothered me was that I reserved a unit on the 4th floor that I didn't realize had several steps up even after taking the elevator. I had many heavy boxes and needed a dolly to move most of it. The service representative warned me, which was good. But then I had to get another unit that was $50 more a month. The price was still way better than what I had, but it would be good to describe the situation on line so we know what we're getting into. This u-haul location Extremely Poor customer service And Unprofessional! Returned a trailer on 9/23/2021 That I was told by the manager I was Responsible for Mount that was Picked out by Jonathan dubon their counter person and Told not once but Twice! it was the Correct. Gave the Ball and Mount to the Trailer technician and he Installed on my 2016 Chevrolet 1500 had to Pull Over at Interstate 10 and Bob Hope Dr. Drove to the Chevron Station the Ball Came loose from Vibrations Trailer technician NEVER INSTALLED COTTER Pin! Was able to get to u-haul at 68075 Ramon rd Cathedral city cal 92234 . Return Trailer on 9/23/21 When I went to Explain what had happened and Told Repeatedly from the female counter person that I Bought Mount/Ball They Sold Me and Told me That it was the Right One Twice! Also their trailer technician I’ll bet was Never been Trained properly But I was told this was my Responsibility! I’m sure their will Be no Fallow through! No I Guarantee u haul corporation won’t or give Feedback on how this matter was Handled! Check Yelp sometime or Better go pay a visit!Gregory S. | Overall Experience
