Problem wasn't the location as much as the process. You make a reservation on the web, then have to download and use the App. The payment info and DL info is already input and you have to take a selfie and pics of you DL and upload them with the App. Then when you get to the facility nothing is done. You have to go inside and show your DL again and use your credit card again and then the truck is lost in the jungle of trucks and the stuff you ordered isn't loaded into the truck and, in the case of the appliance dolly, totally forgotten. The process is inefficient and a waste of time. Why have an App and have to input all the info when it's a waste of time?MICHAEL F.

You tried to to overcharge me for gas! I brought back the truck with more gas than when I got it. Due to a "system error" I got hit with a $17.05 fee. So I had to go argue with a worker there and have him look at the photos from when I checked out the truck. They also tried to charge me for a bump on the number that was also there when I got it. I eventually got the fee refunded, but I have better things to do with my time. I attempted to return the truck after hours and the return procedure was unclear. I phoned up u-haul for help and they couldn't tell me if I was leaving the truck in the correct place, so I drove home and returned it the next morning. Also a waste of time :(kevin M.

What is the problem with you people? I have money in my account, my account is still the same and nothing has changed. I have been a customer with you for 5 years and my account has been on auto payment the whole time. You have to first request payment from my bank and in turn, they pay U-haul as they have for the the last five years but you already know this and that's why I believe you periodically try and scam or deceive customers into delinquency with their storage rooms. Please do what you were supposed to do in the first place and request payment of $129.00 from my bank and refund the late fees. I think all your vehicles should be inspected to make sure the transmission is not slipping. I received a clean vehicle 15 footer I believe it was and the transmission sucked. It kept slipping and revving up to five and six and it was very hard to do my move. Stop cheating people on the amount of gas that is in the truck. 3 times this month you guys tried to screw me on the amount of gas that was told was in the truck and what was actually in ity. I don't blame the people behind the counter because they are only tell me what they were told. It the people at the island when you check the truck in that tries to screw you every time. Yesterday They tried to screw me for $50 in gas charges but when I showed the picture I took of the gas gage and the mileage she knew I was being cheated by the guy at the island and gave me back my $50 on my debit card. We were supposed to pick up our van rental in Daly City- we arrived on time but they didn't have any vehicle for us, even though we had received a confirmation and a guarantee it would be ready. She told us we would have to drive to another location to get a vehicle. By the time we arrived to the second location, there was a huge line out the door and we waited for over 30 minutes to finally get to the counter. I asked if, since we were supposed to pick up from another location would it be ok if we dropped it off there (much more convenient and a much safer neighborhood- the Bayshore location is really in a sketchy area) but the associate told me there would be a several hundred dollar charge to return it elsewhere (even though that's the location we were â€œguaranteedâ€ to get it from). We ended up being over an hour behind schedule by the time we left with the van- which made our tight deadline of moving everything out of our apartment extremely stressful. After all that, we were supposed to get a $50 credit towards our rental since the vehicle wasn't ready for us when we arrived, but we never received anything. Please contact us regarding this. We had to return the vehicle after the location was closed and there was no clear place to park the van for after hours drop off - the entrance gate was closed and blocked with a truck.ELIZABETH C.

U Haul truck reservation number 90331125 Michele Weiss I first called on 3/15/21 to reserve a 15 ft. truck one way to Salem, Oregon. I waited on line for 9 minutes and was disconnected. Called back and wait 16 minutes before speaking to a person. The service then was good, I asked the person if I had to call and confirm before the pickup date on 3/25, he said no he guaranteed the truck would be at the Sunnyvale local (approx. 7 miles from my home). I called back on 3/18 and changed the pickup time to an earlier time. Also made arrangements for moving help, that service was good, but I have nothing but trouble getting into the program to leave a review for the 5.95 fee handling. On 3/24, I received a call 24 hours before my pick up time telling me there wasn't a 15 ft. truck available, would a 10 ft. work. No a 10 ft. wouldn't work and even though they have 12 ft. trucks showing on the website, there were no 12 ft. truck either. I was given the choice of cubes or driving to pickup truck at San Francisco, approx. 44 miles away from my home. I took the truck in San Francisco option. I called the number for San Francisco location., waited on hold for 41 minutes, and was disconnected. Called back and waited on hold for 31 minutes. I talked to Orry and explained my situation and asked him to have the location call me at or around 5pm to verify the truck would be available for pickup Thursday morning at 8am. They did not call me to verify the truck would be available. When I picked up the truck, no change was made to the mileage on the rentalâ€¦even though U Haul added 44 miles to my actual mileage. First, there is a pattern of issues with your on hold function and being disconnected. Second, your customer service is very poor with the promises of trucks, last minute changes, call backs after a serious change to the reservation, and the information on your website. I realize there can be changes to last minute reservation but I made reservations for a truck 10 days in advance and was told it would be available 7 miles away, not 44 miles away. Third, your app with check out has issuesâ€”the estimate on the fuel level was off on the truck and when we tried to change it errored out. Check out record said 3/8 level and it was closer to 1/8, another customer service issue. I respectfully request a refund of $200. (15%). The experience with your company was not up to any kind of good customer service. Please credit my credit card on file with the refund of $200.MICHELE W.

Upon picking up the equipment, I noticed that the fuel gauge did not reflect the one through the link. Based on the link, it was supposed to be at half full but in reality, it was completely empty. I asked for another equipment but agent refused, advised me to mark the correct fuel level. So I used to link and marked that the fuel gauge was on empty, added a note and included an image. I fueled the equipment at the nearest gas station so I could complete my task. I added $20 worth of gas. A short time later, I returned the equipment and was faced with a significant fuel charge. The agent could not see in the system that I marked it empty but could see the image. She continued to argue with me even though it was the same agent I had reported the empty fuel gauge upon pick up. Very unprofessional and lazy. I had to argue for a while and she finally agreed to process a refund, which I'm not sure she did correctly because it did not reflect on my receipt. The system should have an image of the empty fuel gauge, and that should be the end of the discussion. I will be disputing this charge with my CC.EVANGELOS M.

This was the worst experience I've ever had hands down and you better believe this won't be the only place I'm reaching out about it. every review channel every phone number you have... expect to hear from me. After being told my the van company that we could only have the van till 5 even tho we rented it for the day because "other people needed it" our movers were then 2 hours late (booked by UHaul) and when we got to your "facility" we are told the unit size we reserved not only isn't available but doesn't exist. at which point the dude who was "helping us" called over Wendy who obviously couldn't care less about what was happening even though I had 2 movers waiting that had already completely unloaded our van and STILL she wanted to make us go to the Bryant location to get a Ubox from them instead. The most mismanaged badly run facility i've ever seen. While i was there i heard 2 other people have meltdowns because you guys ruined their reservations and took payment for services you could not provide. whoever the GM is, expect to be hearing from me. I had to pay my movers an extra $120 to stay another hour since this dumpster fire of a situation took up an hour of the time they were supposed to be moving my stuff into the unit. On top of this nightmare the one locker available was at the top of a pully ladder stacked ontop of another unit. AND IT'S $40+ MORE THAN WHAT I RESERVED ONLINE. I expect this price match to be met after this hellfire saga. I have to say the mismanagement of this location is a joke. I waited for a very long time for the sole staff available (20 min). I had rented an 8x8x8 storage. She had to unlock the storage first, yet she chose to take care of the next client. After waiting for an additional 10 min, we proceeded to my storage unit. I discovered that a quarter of the unit was occupied by a very large column (2.5 x 3). She mentioned she knew about it and almost insinuated that I should have known; she insisted that it was an 8x8x8. The unit was useless to me as I needed to place 2 large items (a couch and an erg machine). She refused to upgrade me. She refused to help out finding an alternate facility. I eventually had to drive close to 30 miles away to be able to store my items. A terrible experience unlike the one at the Oakland Coliseum's.
