I was there for over an hour for pickup because they messed up the contract and gave my equipment to someone else. And then they had to switch me to other equipment but no one had checked in any of the other equipment do I had to wait around for over an hour after my appointment time before I got to leave with my equipment. Then they put the car on the dolly incorrectly so I had to redo it myself. This company is a mess. I will try another company next time.

gas meter was at 3/8. when I opened email after I left, the contract mentioned 5/8. risk of such mistakes should be accounted for. the difference between 3/8 and 5/8 = 2/8 = 1/4. a quarter tank of gas for a 10ft is approx. $15. that's a 10% cost increase in regards to total rental.

They charged me $11 for insurance when I told them not to. When i got home to read my receipt I noticed this error and I had to call back to get them to reverse this. They said they would "try". I told them "not good enough" I expect this cost to be reversed.

Equipment was not ready, wiring harness missing, unprofessional employees not observing social distancing protocols. Seemed like person taking my payment info was stealing my credit card information. If anything happens, it is the owner of this location that did it. Mentioning this now so that there is a paper trail. Awfully suspicious how she was taking my info.

It was the worst experience I ever had! 1- I couldn’t get my rental on time with the check in online- it was awful- the manager won’t even help me- I had waited and wasted 2 Hours for nothing. 2) truck needed to be checked for tires pressure check- no one even cared to follow up. I paid almost $600 for a shitting service 3) roadside assistance is awful- I was forced to get insurance and what I needed help with was not covered. Why even carry insurance? 4) I filled the gas full and wasn’t refunded the extra while i was told I will. Just awful experience

Manager and several female employees were repeatedly, astonishingly rude to customers. I don’t know who does the hiring, but you need someone else to make the hiring decisions. Saw several customers get yelled at. Hostile vibe. I don’t want to go into a store to spend money and get talked to like I’m an idiot. This experience was ridiculous. They had a sign on the door that clearly said the line begins inside, 6 feet between people, then continues inside. Nobody was inside. Nobody was st the door directing people. Then when customers followed the directions on the sign and came inside, they got yelled at. One employee said to another customer “can’t you read?!” Wehrmacht he was clearly following the instructions on the sign. I didn’t catch her name, but the female manager is always extremely rude to customers. I’ve been in 5 times and always see her being grumpy and condescending toward customers. It’s just not ok. She needs to find a job where she doesn’t interact with the public. The way she consistently talks to customers is just not ok. She talks to people like they are idiots, and she’s doing them a favor by being there. She rolls her eyes at people constantly. I don’t normally write reviews ever, but this situation is not okay and something needs to be done.

I called in the morning to confirm the hrs of business. Was told it was from 0700-1900 hrs. I hurried back and reached the establishment by 1800-hrs only to discovered they closed for the day. Had I been given the accurate information in the morning when I called, I wouldn't have wasted an extra trip

I had to wait around half an hour to pick up the van because the yard people were doing something else even though they saw me standing there. I had to go into the office twice to let them know that I was still waiting for the van.

the woman at the desk was rude and snickered at me when my credit card deposit didn't go through, even after I told her that I wanted to use cash. I had to leave and load up my card and come back which was super inconvenient.

I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes on Friday February 28th to pickup our truck. There was one person working and 10 people in line. This resulted in me having to overpay the guys that I hired to help us move.

The check in and payment process took more than 30 minutes from arrival. Our issue was being sent from the Sunnyvale location due to an issue on Sunnyvale's end. The staff was not accommodating at all. They stated they closed at 7pm but we had to be there by 645pm for a pick up. We were told about the change after 5pm. With commute traffic and coordinating 2 people to get there, meant 90 minutes each way. Wow no understanding. They took our money, charged more than what was discussed and then did not seem to care. We had to wait more then 90 minutes to get a truck. And when we did get it, it was dirty and not clean in the inside. One of the worst places, I have ever been to at a U-Haul!!!!!. Even the gas level was not accurate in the contract versus on the gauge. Just terrible..........

Have more signs for lockbox key pickup - I had no idea where to go and there were no signs around or a location scan code. The place is HUGE! Have more staff available on busy days. I had to wait in line for 45 minutes because there was only one staff member (on a Friday morning, at the end of a month) who didn’t seem to know what they were doing. There was a line of about 3 people when I came in at 7:45 and it increased 6-8 more while the one staff member was still working with the same customer. Finally two more staff showed up, but by then it was 8:30.

Pretty poor experience picking up the car, just a whole lot of confusion. Same with the drop off process, no clarity provided during any of these steps which led to what felt like a inefficient/time wasting process.

Some suggestions: Use an analytics team to do basic demand forecasting. Establish a playbook of checklists for what to do with when lots of people show up. Color code the truck labels for easier identification from a distance. Make the hazard light button more clearly marked. Have a premium upgrade service where people can pay a driver to drive the truck for them. Add UI components to your website to communicate to customers typical wait times, of it to expect delays. Integrate with ride-sharing services so that customers can pre-order a Lyft or Uber to pick them up on after the customers deliver the truck. Have a floating truck or two in each appropriate region so that when prior truck renters run late, disruption is minimized. Time and iterate to minimize the number of clicks and other actions employees need to go through for each customer. In short, pay more attention to the customer experience to minimize stress, uncertainty, and delay.

Truck windshield was filthy and no one loaded my appliance dolly like in the past, but the person doing my order, pointed at a stack! There was NO customer service and 1.59 per mile made the local rental really expensive

All representatives were friendly and helpful. The pickup interior was dusty, the interior of the front windshield was dirty with smudges, cardboard was left in the cab, and the pickup needed to be aligned (it had a hard right drift). Even so, I liked this place and would return to rent from there.

I had a confirmed reservation for 7:30 pm. At 4:30 PM i received a call saying that location closes at 6:30 and that I woudl not be able to pick up at 7:30. I had to change my plans and rush to the location. Once on site, I (without the help of an employee), had to wade through hundreds of trucks to find mine. At checkout, I asked what I needed to do to return the vehicle after hours and was told to park it out front and drop the keys in the box. The next morning I was charged a $20 fee for dropping it off after hours, and I was never informed about this fee. This will be my last time as a u-haul customer.

Makes signs a little clearer to stay with your vehicle or how the return process works, or reassure the customer there isnt going to be long wait for assistance. I get if one guy is working the return area, but my brother went ahead of me no one was there for 5-10 minutes (probably wasnt that long but it felt that way considering my brother was 7-10 minutes ahead of me) so we thought we had To go inside and return the truck and waited for the next available rep (inside) to help me but then i am told to go back outside, there is a guy out there and they would call him, i just wondered where was he? My brother was waiting there ahead of me and saw no one? so we didnt know whether we were supposed to return it under the green tent or inside? I took the key because i didn’t want it to be taken and i am held responsible. Overall it wasn't that big a deal, just the going back and forth in confusion was a little annoying after a long drive.

For starters, your employees could act as though they appreciate the customers, instead of acting as though we should be grateful they are willing to take time to eventually wait on us. Secondly, I asked about dropping off the trailer after hours, as I have done many times before over the years, and was told yes, just leave it outside the gate. Needless to say, I was shocked and extremely PISSED to find out U-Haul charged me an "after-hours" drop off fee greater than the cost of the trailer rental itself for leaving outside the gate after-hours. WTF? I will be disputing that charge with my credit card company and hope you receive a $25 chargeback fee if the credit card company sides in my favor. It seems like U-Haul does everything in their power to ensure that their customers are going to hate them by the time the transaction is complete. I have used U-Haul sooooo many times over the years and can tell you I CRINGE every time I have to do business with your company. Never, in all my years of using U-Haul can I say it was a pleasant experience. That's sad!

1. I was not provided with the 8*8*8 split level1st floor storage that I booked, I instead had to settle down for an 8*8*6 storage that had a huge pillar inside taking up much of the space. 2. The rental truck return experience was also bad, I had to move the truck around at first because the guy who takes back rentals was not there, later when I was able to find him after talking to the office, they initially told me I will be charged $12 extra because I drover 3 miles extra. I had to clear the matter by visiting the inner building again by showing them my contract which verified that: 1. I drove 12 miles less than what I had already paid for. 2. the per mile charge written on my contract was anyway $1.89 per mile not $4 per mile which they were charging.

I had an issue with my app. It assigned a truck to me that could not be found. As I was wondering on the grounds looking for the truck, I was approached by two employees working outside asking if they could help me out. I was amazed with how friendly they were and quick to offer help. I went inside to inform them the truck was not outside and they quickly helped me out with assigning me a new truck. All of this was done with a smile on their face and was so incredibly helpful. I generally have a bland or unpleasant experience at U-haul, but this was a very pleasant experience for me. I use U-haul about 8-10 times a year for my job transporting band instruments from my high school to various performance venues around the San Francisco Bay Area and if all my experiences are like this, you will have made a life long customer of me. Thank you!

My experience here was extremely unpleasant. The employees were very rude and unproffesional. Especially Sarah. Sarah accused me of leaving items in the reuse and recycle area and yelled at my gf.

The average rating is because of the elevator, it should be stressed personally to all customers CLOSE ELEVATOR DOORS, that makes for a very long and costly day where you don't can't finish moving.

A pipe burst and did some water damage at one point. I didn't think the staff handled it very well. They should have just come right out and said "a pipe burst and we're sorry".
