The young lady who checked me in, and out after bringing the truck back, is outstanding. She greeted me with a smile when I first came in, converse about other things then just the rental. gave me helpful advice. She is the type of representative that any company would want their employee to be when dealing with the public. She deserves a big pat on the back.

Computer speed on Saturday and Sunday mornings apparently is almost "stopped". Takes about 1/2 hour for what should be a 5 minute transaction. Staff on Saturday worked with the customers; on Sunday the guy was about as unresponsive as the computer.

You could fire the tall guy that almost checked me in the first time I almost returned the truck befor taking it a half a mile to put $7.00 of fuel into the tank. The guy was an absolute jerk. Very very rude. I will never return there again.

I went in on Saturday morning about 9am to pick up a trailer, and returned at 9:15 on Sunday morning to make a change to my contract. On both days the computer response (network?) was next to non-existent. I waited at least 20 minutes on both days - and I was near the front of the line. The staff indicated that this is a weekly problem.

When you set an install time ensure that your hitch installer is working that day or hire someone else more reliable ahead of time. Also confirm ahead of time that you have all the hardware necessary for the install so you don't have to reschedule the install for later in the day. In addition have your global call center verify with the actual customer branch office that they are in fact ready for you to come back early for your rescheduled appointment. I returned to find out they were not actually ready for me. When I finally returned I waited nearly 45 minutes past the posted closing time to finally leave and my appointment had been scheduled for 130 that day. Nearly 7 hours after my first arrival!

The only issue I had was with the people we called and placed order with. They moved out location for pickup and told them we would be there by 10am. Thank heavens the person called as his store was closing at 5 p. He called the people back and got us to a different location.

They rented a van to me that had some damage to the front end bumper before I even got in it. They said nothing about it being a problem before I left and when I returned it about 2 hours later and they took it in they said nothing about the damage then either. A couple hours later they called and said they'd be charging my card more because it was in an accident. I was not in an accident. When I called to try and talk to an employee he said I was "on the hook for it" that it was "only $199" that I "trying really hard to get out of it" and that because I was being "absurd" he was going to hang up, which he did. I work with customers every day and the accusations and poor service here are unlike anything I've ever experienced before.

Guy at the desk was pleasant and courteous, one guy in the yard was very rude and the other never tightened the trailer hitch ball. Did not find this out until i went to load the car and the trailer came up off the hitch. luckily i had some one to help me get it back in place. I'm just glad it didn't come off while I was driving down the highway.

I would recommend this location. I rent stuff from this store frequently because the location is so convenient. Everything went really well this time, however, this location tends to be really slow. The last time I rented, I was told I needed to come back the next day because their internet was down. It seems Uhaul could have better checkout systems, etc. for its franchisees.

The seat adjustment tracks have VERY sharp corners and due to the design of the cab, are easy to hit with your leg when entering/exiting. Strongly suggest putting a rubber tip on these corners to prevent injuries.

When I got there I was greeted by a very capable woman who checked my paperwork and disconnected my trailer allowing us to move onward with all of the other tasks involved in a move without delay so I didn't even need to go inside to be able to answer those other questions. She was great.

I was very happy with the customer service, the way the cargo van worked (very nice vehicle). Everything went on without a hitch. The only thing I recommend is for the attendant to remind customer that the tank of the vehicle needs to be filled before dropping it off. Thanks!

The contact person named Jeff was fantastic and very helpful. Unfortunately the party's did not arrive the day of my installation and then they did not come in correctly the next day so I had to have my hitch put on in Plainfield. Overall that created a very frustrating experience. Thankfully Jeff was very helpful and proactive.

Truck was dirty outside, windshield was filthy inside and out, counter guy seemed like he did not know what he was doing, I had preregistered and it still took him 15 minutes. Did not know the drop off address. Handed me the keys and said there is your truck and pointed. No walk around, no orientation. I get more feedback renting a car.

Sunday morning, only one person manning the desk. At opening 9am, 4 people in line. Same guy has to take the customers out to get the truck. Took me 45 minutes to get my turn and get out of the lot. This is the time of year many kids are going to college; need to have more people staffed. The fellow who was working was nice but when I left, the line was really long. Also, I came in the day before -- in person-- gave them all the info they wanted. But when I returned, they asked for all the same info again. Seemed like a time waster when the line was growing behind me! The van I rented worked very well and was clean on the inside. (Dirty outside. I had to stop and wash windshield)

Short staffed. I waited for check in to return the truck at least 30 minutes before I went inside to wait in another line over 30 minutes. I asked for a receipt right then wasn't provided a receipt to show a timely return. I didn't get my emailed receipt until over 24 hours later. Very unorganized location. I've used uhaul many times and this was the first time I was disappointed.

Seriously understaffed. Manager of this location just needs to observe for 5 minutes checkin/check out process at front desk to see that staff is working as best and as quickly as they can but long lines of people waiting and rental trucks and trailers lined up into 28th Street is a pretty big hint. I doubt that hiring another crew member at $10 an hour will ruin the bottom line.

I took a picture of the gas level in the truck when returning to prove I filled it up to where it should be. Somehow I STILL got charged for refueling the vehicle. I am NOT happy about this at all.

I rented this specific truck because the description said that it was big enough to move a 2-bedroom apartment. WRONG! It took me 3 trips to empty my 2 bedroom apartment. The description is EXTREMELY misleading. A 15 foot truck is not even close to the capability of moving a 2-bedroom apartment. Consequently, I had to pay more mileage than what I estimtated because I was not able to complete my move in one trip. I am not happy about this and I feel I was falsely mislead.

The overall experience was good but was kinda disappointed I was charged extra for not filling the gas tank "adequately". The amount of fuel I put in the truck put the gauge past what was asked and I put 3 extra gallons in from what was recommended in the paperwork.

They were very accommodating to my needs. I forgot to put the appliance dolly on the truck when I was returning it, and they told me "no problem, return it later". That was a huge help, as we've moved 40 minutes away. I've rented from this location many times and they've always been great!!

After this last experience I will find another place to rent equipment. I have gone to this location for years and when I went the last time all was good until I went to drop off the trailer and met the owner himself. At the drop off spot, I read the sign and waited per the instructions for someone to come out and give my receipt after 5 minutes, of no check in, I went inside because I was waiting outside (per the instructions to drop off) two people pulled up and walked in ahead of me (who had been waiting after me). The owner (only person working) proceeds to tell me I will have to wait and it will be at least 20 minutes (the customer he was helping arrived at the location after me but I was following directions to drop off). The owner didn't give me an option to leave it, have any sense of empathy but instead pure attitude of I can't cut people in line. I completely respect first come first serve but in a place where you are surrounded by cameras don't have an attitude with the person that was waiting patiently longer than the customer in front of you and tell me to wait an additional 20 minutes. The worst part is it was the owner clearly labeled name tag and all. After having no more time I asked if I could drop it off the same way you would after hours and he said i guess with the attitude showing he was clearly done with customers (his revenue) for the day. I can understand one bad employee but for the owner to be so inconsiderate of my business and always selecting his location to go to I will recommend that others find another uhaul or another brand for their towing needs all together.

Alex was truly my hero. I came in with my Russian father in law, who can be a bit cranky, doesn't speak English and had just hurt his knee badly. Alex handled things so fast, helped us hook up the trailer, was waiting for us in the parking lot so my father in law wouldn't try to get out of the van again. When my FIL's card wouldn't work, he found a way to work with us without at all embarrassing my FIl. Truly a modern day hero. <3

2 things. The designation of the site as the "Centerpointe" location is confusing, as it is not in that shopping center, so I had difficulty finding it at first. Also, in general, it would be great if U-Haul phones were set up so that people who are having trouble finding locations could get through to the actual store for help in finding it, instead of talking only to national staff who don't have the info needed to help with that.

The pin pads at this location were troublesome and didn't seem to work correctly, causing the staff to have to manually enter credit cards. This caused an unnecessary waste of time on a busy day for me, the other customers and the staff.

My only complaint is that I was charged for furniture pad rental and I was never given the pads. I called the store after leaving with the trailer to ask if the furniture pads were inside the trailer. They told me they were inside and that I did not have to return to the shop for them. Well they were not inside and I had to make due with towels and other blankets I had on hand. I called and asked them to remove the charge, but they didn't do that either.

I like the online registration, once bugs are gotten out of it, I think that will be great. I had an issue where the van I was supposed to get was unavailable. Staff was very helpful in solving issue, but it didn't update the online information so when it was returned the billing info was incorrect. That was corrected the following day.

I entered all of my details into your system ahead of time to allow for express checkout. When I reached the facility I could not access this feature on my phone. Your system kept booting me out. I took time to enter my info, I spent time to work through your express checkout system when I arrived and I eventually went into the shop and waited in line. I rented a truck and when I pulled out onto the street the tire pressure light for the tires came on. I was literally sitting right in front of the location, but stuck in traffic. I called the store and they told me I'd have to call roadside assistance about it. I told the lady I'm sitting right out front and she told me that it didn't matter. So since I touched the street I was forced to rearrange my schedule and wait for roadside assistance to come to my house all because of a little air in a tire. This was a huge waste of time and a inconvenience. I should've been able to pull back into the location and get this addressed. Or better yet, the staff should've addressed this before I picked the truck up if they do inspections.

I reserved a 10 foot truck online from the Alpine Ave. location in Grand Rapids. I got confirmation emails as well. The morning of my move I got a call from the Alpine Ave location saying they actually didn't have that size truck available but the 28th St location did. So they changed my reservation to the 28th St. location. I then got a call from the 28th St store saying they also didn't have 10 foot truck but they could get a 20 foot truck and for $10 more. As this was about an hour prior to when I needed the truck I agreed. When I got to the 28th St store I explained that I was not happy that my reservation had not gone through like I had hoped. They did do right and gave me the rate for the 10 foot truck so that was good on their part. When I went to return the truck I had to wait in the turning lane of 28th street as there is only one lane to return trucks into and it was full. There was also only one person checking in trucks and he was spending a lot of time going through each truck before moving it to allow more trucks to come into the lot. That could have been better too.

Was a horrible experience. Had a reservation at 7:30AM and walked in to a line with no one at the counter helping us out. I later found out you only had 1 customer service representative working at this time. 5 minutes after I arrived, the line was to the door with several upset customers. You must know how many reservations you have on any given day so you should be staffed accordingly. My time was limited as I needed to be back to Grand Rapids by 3:30PM for my sons prom. Waited well over 30 minutes before I even was able to talk to someone about my reservation only to find out U-Haul had the wrong cargo van reserved for me. I was rushed packing up my daughter at Central Michigan and I was late from the picture session for my sons senior prom. I am not satisfied with the service and am not pleased with having to pay full price for the service level that was displayed. I would expect U-Haul to credit my account back half the amount I paid on Saturday April 22, 2017. This is the only thing fair in my mind.

I went on-line to reserve a trailer to haul a motorcycle. It stated some of the trailers have integrated chocks. Once the location of pick-up was confirmed, I called the location to verify it was a motorcycle trailer, and if the trailer was designed to hold one or two motorcycles. I was told that "Yes" all the trailers had the integrated chocks and that the trailer I reserved had them and that it could hold two motorcycles. When we arrived at the initial pickup location, the trailer did not have the chocks. We were sent to a different U-Haul location. The trailer they brought out did not have chocks. They finally found the right trailer, but it only had a chock for one motorcycle. U-Haul needs to do a better job of having the right equipment (that was reserved in advance) at the correct location. Plus, I called in advance to verify the equipment was as requested, and it was not. Very disappointing. It wasn't the fault of U-Haul at the Centerpointe location. But isn't the whole point of reserving in advance to have the correct equipment available for rental? Plus I called to verify, and was given incorrect information from the Burlingame location which was the original location to pick-up the equipment.

The biggest complaint that I have is that the insurance is a complete gouging rip-off. It was 50% of the rental price and while $10- does not sound like much you add it to the fee after fee after new fee and the price goes from reasonable to a bit ridiculous. Give a basic flat pricing and stop playing games.

The eastbrook 28th st location is my choice , I've rented equipment at a lot of locations, however 28th st , even tho it is a busy location, is the most professional, thorough and fast group they have. There's not a close 2nd. If you want to be in, get your equipment and out back to work, and installed properly, then that's where you go.

Was told on my initial call when renting a storage unit on the second level that there was an elevator available only to be told when arriving with all of our furniture that there was no elevator and no storage room available in the size I rented on the main level. The attendant was frustrated and said that the person who took my call doesn't work at their location and shouldn't have promised the elevator. I felt better knowing that all calls are recorded and was confident if checked that the promise was made by the UHaul person. Also, when pricing a truck rental or storage unit, I suggest that UHaul discloses all probable fees and expenses up front. I was not told on the phone that I'd have to buy a particular kind of lock for the storage unit.

I added enough fuel to make the gauge 3/4 but subjectively someone has to tell me that it is just under and will charge me $15. But he took 1/2 off to make me feel better. But in theory, it could be missing approx. 1 gallon of gas which is about $2.50. Whatever...it was a long hard day of moving and I didn't want to argue over $7.50, but I did just put 5 gallons of gas in truck and only drove a round trip of max 35-40 miles. If your trucks are supposed to get 10 mpg then you do the math...I did and that's why I added the extra 1 gallon to be over. My gas should have covered 50 miles round trip! Again...like I said long day...and I didn't want to get into an argument over $7.50, it was a matter of principle and Math!!

Poor service. Didn't have my online order correct at all. Nothing was ready. Had to ask three times for my TV box which was a joke... Just a box that expands with a small thing of foam in it... What a rip off. Truck drove terribly. Felt like the engine was struggling the whole time. Not to mention the whole outside looked like it had gone through a grinder.

They charged me $64.37 for an extra day when in fact I returned the truck the same day. It is not my fault that they checked it in after 9 am. They charged me for an extra day and an extra day coverage plus fuel charges. Would not recommend this location because apparently workers are slacking checking in truck/equipment on a timely manner and customers are stuck with the extra charges.

We rented trucks to move in and out of the West Michigan Home and Garden Show. We reserved them for the earliest we could get there. Without even texting us when we weren't there, you cancelled our reservation. Furthermore, if each truck comes with 6 blankets and I order 6, then I expect to find 12 blankets in the truck. Explain the tow/haul dash light and how to disengage this feature. Trucks I've rented before did not have this. When I picked up the truck it was already dark. I made a stop and when I restarted the truck the tow/haul dash light came on. After I got home, I did an internet search to find out about the button on the end of the shifter stalk.

I'm frustrated because even though I only drove 18.6 miles and the gas gauge didn't seem to move I stopped at the Speedway nearby and put $5 (over 2 gal) of gas in truck. I had to wait when dropping off and was told they'd email me a receipt. I was charged almost $10 for an additional 2 gal of gas and that is ridiculous. I saved my receipt but it's not worth fighting over $10. I would've addressed it at the store, but I'm not wasting time returning now. My time is more valuable than $10. Extremely frustrating and leaves a very bad impression - U-Haul advertises low prices but then always "nickle & dimes" you for $10 worth of gas (wrongly!), a $1 environmental fee, and so on. Bad business.

I had made an appointment and the truck was not ready. So the new guy tried to drive it up hill only to slide on ice. Then he hit the garage door three times. The parking lot is a mess. The next trick had 3 inches of snow and ice on the windshield. I was late to meet the movers I hired theu u haul. Just got another charge on my credit card from u haul with no bill or reasons. Very disappointed in the company especially the building and condition.

I reserved vehicle online. Needs changed and I called and changed type of truck the morning of pick up. Upon arrival, old size was still reserved and I reiterated the change for a larger truck. I was charged for the larger, correct truck. Upon the man pulling the truck around for us, it was the smaller, incorrect truck. I showed him the receipt he just printed for us. He argued with us that the price is for the larger truck, but the code (that he didn't change) was for the smaller one. He did not want to give us the correct one, nor did he put the equipment we requested and paid for in the truck. I was not pretty upset and went back inside to talk to someone else. She was extremely helpful and corrected the situation. NO apology was ever offered for the time delay and the wrong truck and missing equipment. When the 2nd truck (correct size) was pulled around for us by another gentleman, we made sure the rental equipment was there. The 2nd man did explain everything and was very helpful, too. It was the experience and incompetency of the 1st man that will not have us returning to this location for future needs. What a shame...arguing with the customer and no apology after it was sorted out and he was wrong.

RE: contract #98984894 This contract was not initiated by me and seems to be made using my email address fraudulently. I contacted your customer service department and it appears it is just a mistaken use of an email address, and not paid for using stolen credit card information. At least, I hope its just an honest mistake. I live in Colorado and have never been to Grand Rapids, MI., which is the location of the U-Haul store in question.

Still at store over 5 hours waiting for a hitch to be put on my car. Job was to be 2 hours. Store didn't have anyone to pit on the hitch for the first hour. Hitch MIGHT be finished in 6 hours. I called 3 times last night and spoke with Russ because the truck I was slipping and sliding, could not get any traction which cause me to burn a lot of gas, the wiper / defrost would not keep the windshield free of ice causing limited sight. I called this morning leaving a message to speak with the manager. I had to call several time before Tarina at customer service sent an urgent email. Chris called back within minutes. I voiced my disappointment with the truck. He assured that he was going to go out and check on my concerns and call me back in a few. That was a few hours ago.

I called and reserved a car trailer, I was given a confirmation number, when I arrived at the U-HAUL location within 20 minutes of calling I was told they did not have a trailer. I was given no apology or help, the service manager has no people skills and could care less about the customers that keep U-HAUL in business. I recommend that you train your managers how to interact with your customers and provide better service.

1. Store was cluttered 2. I was charged a fee for locking the keys in the truck. There was not a drop box located in the drop zone area. My decision to lock the keys in the truck was based on not wanting to have the truck and equipment stolen. I later found out that there was a drop box located in the front of the store no one ever told me at the time that I picked up the truck. I called the customer service number and explained to Cody that we believed that we did the responsible thing and that I wanted a copy of the bill from the locksmith or be refunded the charges because I based my decision to lock the keys in the truck that there would have been a spare set. He attempted to contact the store and they did not answer the phone. He informed me that a manager would contact me in 3 days. No one ever called. This past Saturday I went into the store explained the above and was told that I would be contacted on Monday and once again no one called. Customer service and follow up responses appear to be non existent at U haul. So far I have been lied to twice. Penalized for doing the right thing by protecting U haul's assets. Trying to understand why a key drop box was not located in the drop off area or at least a sign directing one to the drop box and why U haul does not have spare keys to their equipment? No I would not recommend anyone to U haul what I will do is share my experience with everyone that I know.

I didn't know how to lock the back of the truck. I had to call a employee back to the truck to show me because he just left the truck. After paying my name and signature line with accept still was showing and I asked if that could be cleared before I left and I was told not to worry about it. It will clear automatically.

GM Jim helped me out with a mileage discrepancy with the vehicle I rented. Instead of saying something like the odometer doesn't lie, he looked into it and saw there was no way I could have traveled that far in the time I had the truck. All the people that I worked with at this location were fantastic. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and customer centered. I had occasion to talk to people that I assume were corporate people at the phone number that was listed on the contract. Both were rude, disrespectful, and ill informed. I have two issues. The first, your website makes it seem that you HAVE to accept the $10 insurance coverage. I tried to opt out and it gave me a warning about it. That seems dishonest. Second, my mileage was incorrect. I drove 16.9 miles. I sent my route to the establishment. I moved a bed and immediately returned the truck. The receipt said I drove 49 miles. Is this something that you guys regularly do? I am disputing this.
