We were scheduled to pick up @ 10 foot moving truck at 11AM. We arrived at 11:15. Waited for >1 hour, for. The truck to be ready. My husband went outside to go over the truck. , only to find the tire pressure was low. He came back in to the store, was told that he needed a different truck, the same thing happened. We waited and took the truck, used it to move our daughter. We returned it on time, by the time we took the took it back there were so many lights on the dash along with the check engine light . We're we're worried it was going to break down before we returned the truck.Richard C.

Because I am familiarized with the location I would recommend it to others. To improve the services the accurate gas and mileage amounts should be given at the time of renting. Good thing I had time to right down the mileage and the gas numbers before driving off. The mileage was higher and the gas was less than what was quoted on paper. And I was switched into another vehicle that was loud and the check engine light was on. So service the vehicles accordingly without expecting others to drive it anyways.Nancy B.

What a mess!. The uhaul we were getting was prepaid for. When we got to the place they siad it was not prepaid and said their computers were down and we needed to go to an ATM to get cash. They also said it would be over 250 dollars. Got on the phone with uhaul and they said it was prepaid(only 165). The uhaul rep was trying to call the place but the guy was outside smoking. Finally got the truck but when we got in there was only 1/2 tank of gas. Called the rep again who made a note and that we were good to give it back with 1/2 tank. The rep deserves 5 star.James S.

I spoke to multiple people regarding my storage unit who were all really helpful during the booking process but on arrival, Allison Wallace , the manager from the Clark Ave site was simply AMAZING . She made my whole move in to the storage unit so seamless. Took the extra effort to walk us down to the unit to show us around and gave me another unit that was not as far to walk to when she realized there was another one open without me even asking . She gave me her personal number to call her if I needed anything and got me refunded an amount that I was incorrectly billed by one of the other workers in just a few hrs. One I would fire that Mark guy because let me tell you why he's not a good person he when we checked and he did not even great as you were it looks like he was three sheets to the wind like he was stoned out of his head he did different things that we weren't expecting we had already booked our appointment online and he like forced us to redo it there with him because he wanted the money in store he kept saying no no we need to end this done in store and I'm like low-key about ready to put a hold on the card with anything through the app all I need to do is get some help in getting the key and he absolutely refused to help us get the key until we did the paperwork in the store so unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone due to the situation that there's a lot of deception going on there and things like power train trips that are not good sincerely markweaverMark W.

I used the "self-pick up" and "return my truck" features on my phone on the U-Haul website to return the equipment, which went great and was very convenient. However, as I was about to leave, a rude, younger employee with extremely poor customer service told me to "forget what the website says, you need to return the truck to where I tell you to". I had already taken photos of the truck, the odometer readings, fuel gauge, etc., so when I moved the truck for his liking it probably put another mile or so and used more gas which may reflect inaccurate data. His poor work ethic and lack of professional communication was shocking. I'll use Penske or other rental truck services instead in the future.Mark J.

The engine light and tire pressure light were on when I picked up the truck. Although there hasn't been any mechanical issue during the rental period, it is sometimes stressful to customers as to when the truck would break down. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Sorry but since a new management and team took over these are following issues I had since about 6 months going back. No help with online access or getting corporate on the phone. Asked several times for the store manager to call me to get due dates changed he never did. Which several times resulted in late payment n being charged a late fee. The store office is always gloomy and not enough lights on are they vampires? Excessive fees during a pandemic when I been renting the one unit for over a year no issues until this new management took over at the Clark location. I've had this unit for years 2013 recently someone made a mistake and my account is wrong represented as delinquent July, August, 2021 I have the receipts showing paid and the correct amount $69.95 and since the mistake my end date 30th each month,and price is wrong not $ 99.00 Uhaul said stop and started my storage unit as if was June this yr with wrong price not my fault they messed up, and has not sent me the zero amount,right day, price $69.00 and my free month proof of Bill email. My reason for not being satisfied is based on the manger who stole our money, She informed us that paying on cash, she could not charge us the taxes and give a discount on labor for insulation, she said her boyfriend does all installments for the hitch and bike racks. She said we moved out when we actually didn't then put our storage unit in someone else name. She was supposed to install a bike hitch on my vehicle and was paid to do so. But gave us the run around and as of this day 07/11/21 it still hasn't been done. I've asked the staff to have the GM give me a call and guess what, He hasn't called me either. If I'm not mistaken his name is Tim/Tom at least that's what I was told when I came over to the store when I found out that the manger had been fired. So no I wouldn't recommend anyone storing at this location. Uhaul don't want to be responsible for me getting my money back or service that was already paid upfront to their manager. They have refused to call me back let known apologize for the misrepresentation of an employee that they hired in my eyes rip people off while they still collect out money. I made my reservation online. When I came to pick up the truck, I had a hard time finding my truck, so I was driving around slowly to find it. As I was driving around slowly a short white woman with a raspy voice appeared at my car window and said “what are you doing?!” She really scared me. I told her what I was doing, and noticed she had a U-Haul shirt on. At first she said “the truck is not here… “ I think she walked off at that time… I didn’t know what to do, so I kept driving around slowly to find a truck, because the app said The truck was there. She popped up again beside the car and said “the truck is the last one down there. “ I drove to the truck, parked in front of the truck, and started taking things out of my car to put in the truck. She appeared again and said something really quickly: I heard her say “… Click that you got the keys… “She quickly walked off. I kept taking items out of my car. That lady appeared again with the keys, and she left. I never saw her again. I arrived later than expected, and it took me longer than expected to put the items in the U-Haul, so I called the UHaul 800 number, and eventually ended up talking to that woman (I didn’t expect that: her voice is very distinct: I asked if it was her, to verify and she said it was). I asked her if I could extend my time (I 1st thought I only needed The truck for four hours). She said that technically, I had the truck for 24 hours, “so when you drop off the U-Haul, just make sure you drop it off within 24 hours of the time that you originally signed up for the truck.”) I decided to keep the truck for an additional day, so I called the 800 number to change the reservation. When I called, the customer service rep stated there was no record of me having the truck, and that I had canceled the reservation! I had also made arrangements originally to use a storage space at that site. When I came to drop off the truck, it was closed! No one had told me what time the office closed. Fortunately the female Security Guard was there, and was very helpful. I simply left the U-Haul truck where I originally parked it (in front of the propane tank area). The next day, that little white lady and a young man (thin, light brown) were at the desk. They both became quite agitated when I arrived (I arrived about 5-10 minutes before closing) The woman stated that they had to close in two minutes, and there wasn’t much she could do. I told her that I had a truck full of furniture, and needed access to the storage space. She became even more agitated: “what’s the number of your storage space? “ I told her I never received a storage space number. She started moving even faster, and said something like “I don’t have a space… I have something on the third floor… “ I told her that I would take whatever she had, because I needed something to put the furniture in. She had the young man create a contract, he told me my Storage unit number, gave me a card to check in, and quickly told me about checking in and checking out.… Very quickly… When I walked over to access the storage space, I didn’t know what door to go into. So I walked back over to the desk: the young guy was walking away, and never looked up to help me.It was obvious he did not want to talk to me. I roamed around the storage spaces… I was not given a map… I eventually found the space, and it was a space off the ground! It had a plastic green drawstring thing in place of the locker… There was no lock… I noticed all The other locks looked the same… No one discussed anything about the U-Haul locks (I have never rented storage space from U-Haul before). I called the next day, and spoke with someone on the phone (I Think it was José). He was very nice, and asked me if I wanted them to move the truck in the bay area. I told him yes. I Think I also told him that I needed a new storage space. Once again, I had arrived just before closing time (I work in Midtown every day, and cannot leave any sooner than I did). I was given a new storage space: 3229. When I went up to access the storage space, 3229 had a lock like all the other storage spaces, and a small red padlock above that one. I was totally confused, and went back down to the front desk. Once again, everyone was gone. The African-American gentleman that works outside was very kind… he wasn’t able to help me, but allowed me to talk through all of my frustrations and made me feel better. The rest of the details are fuzzy… I remember trying to call U-Haul through the 800 number again: I was on hold for very long periods of time. I was trying to call during work, and could not stop working, so I would have to hang up and try again later. I eventually got in touch with Michael, who offered a storage space for 30 days for free (which was my original agreement online). I reserved a unit online a week before I moved. I was given a confirmation number a guaranteed my size unit was available on the date I needed it. I show up with a 15 foot truck fully packed and was told the unit I RESERVED A WEEK BEFOREHAND!!! was not available and they would give me a smaller one so at this point even though it was to small I had to take it. I go to the unit they give me and it is obviously in use already! I go back again and this time I am told I guess we do not have any. Oh well. All this bull**** took over an hour to go down and not once was I given an explanation or an apology for the utter incompetence of these people running this place...Appalling in the extreme and if this is the way they treat paying customers horribly disgusting.
