My dissatisfaction is more with the U-Haul reservation line. We reserved a storage unit at the Alcoa location that the phone agent repeatedly represented as ground level. When we arrived we learned that the door is approximately six feet off the ground and accessible only by a rolling ladder. It would have been almost impossible to load furniture into this unit.Colin L.

I was the first one there out of 3 to 4 people in line waiting to be acknowledged. The manager and another employee were in and out of the office several times while everyone stood around needing to be helped, over 30 min. They did have a new employee at the counter that did not have a password so he was limited in what he could do. I was there way too long just to pick up a truck that had a reservation and Im sure the other people were there alot longer. When i got home i did not receive the moving blankets that we paid for. Also the mirror on the truck spun around every time I hit a bump and that was very frustrating on a 900 mile drive. I did call it in and had a lady put it in the notes but still was very dangerous adjusting mirror driving down the road. That truck needs to be fixed and Im sure the last person informed someone about it.DAVID D.
I reserved my equipment the day before, put my card on file and everything. I even confirmed that my friends would be able to pick it up without me there. When they got there, they were told that none of my information was on file and they had to put there card on file. They spend a while at the store with someone who was poorly trained and by himself without assistance to help the situation. The guy was kind of rude and not wanting to help fix the situation and demanded that they put their card on file, but they had my card on file with all my information (including contact). Overall not a great experience and will not be coming to the Clinton Hwy location again.JOE R.
The guy who helped me was awesome! I am a small business owner and I wanted to offer him a job! He had short brown hair and a cross tattoo on each arm. He was very knowledgeable and polite. As of today i have returned 2 trailers to this location. The first one I returned, a man walked behind the counter , looked at my paper work and made a comment that they had too many trailers at their location. Today when I read my coraspondse from you I received a bill for 2 additional days on the first trailer I returned. An error has been made and I will visit them Saturday to protest their billing. I had traveled back to my home town and rented a second trailer and now they say I returned 2 trailers on the same day????MARK K.

Glenn Bullock, general manager, of Knoxville, TN located is awesome! While on the road driving to Lexington KY from South Carolina we received text that our reservation to pick up equipment was changed, not only location (40 min away) but time of day (12:30pm instead of 9:00AM). UHaul customer service was not helpful in the least. Tried numerous other companies in Lexington KY area with no luck getting equipment last minute. My original reservation was made over 1 month prior. We decided to try areas along our drive and came upon Knoxville TN location on Clinton Hwy, right off interstate. Owner/GM was fantastic and super helpful getting us hooked up with a trailer. A very stressful situation ended well. QUESTION: if a reservation is made well in advance, why is the equipment not available? Isn't that the point to making a reservation?MILES D.

SHOUT OUT to Glenn Bullock!!! He went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our rental experience easy and flawless. We had to change our rental date and Glenn provided us with his cell number in case we questions or problems. HE ANSWER HIS PHONE AND HELPED US ON HIS DAY OFF!!!! WOW! I would recommend this location due to the amount of equipment available and easy of pick-up and delivery. Adding a note of caution for customers to pay close attention to the bill. I returned the truck with more gas than when I picked it up but was billed 2gal. Equalling a $9.83 additional charge. I intend to contact this location for a refund.James L.

The day before my move, I was informed of what location to pick up my truck. It was different than I originally booked and the new location wasn't open till 30 mins after my scheduled time. So I had to push back when my movers came. Then on moving day, I arrive at the location they indicated for me and my truck isn't there. So they send me 30 minutes away to another location. They give us the wrong address which slows us down about 15 minutes before we figure out the correct address. So we arrive at the new location, our movers already at my place without me there with the truck, and we get told we're lucky they're still giving us the truck cause we're 30 minutes late. We were 30 minutes late because we were sent 30 minutes away. Anyways, Vaughn was nice and worked with us. I have no complaints about him. But the entire experience with U-Haul has convinced me to never use U-Haul again.Lydia C.

The UHaul website is difficult to understand what the various options mean. There's too much gimmicky ways to try to trick you into buying things. I get you're a business, but it's to the point of being predatory. Cool it down!Robert P.

First of all the employee arrived late to open the store. Secondly, he seemed to have lost my reservation I had made two months prior. Then, he tried to have me drop the truck in another city several times even though I told him I needed to return to pickup location. On top of that, he was "just going to get the paperwork done later " I don't think so! What should have been a seamless exchange turned into a 45 minute nightmare. I haven't rented UHaul trucks several times recently without difficulty but this was a horrible experience. Never again.LeAnne C.

Everything went great until time to turn in the truck. Three trucks pulled in behind me so instead of me doing it on the app the Uhaul employee told me he would take care of it. The next day I got a call asking when I planned on returning the truck. After 50+ minutes on hold they told me it would be taken care of. After finally getting a receipt in email it showed an additional $14 safe move charge that I didn't ask for. Rather than sitting on hold again to get my $14 back, I'll just rent elsewhere next time. I have rented from uhaul several times over the last year and haven't had any problems until this rental. The long hold time and inability to fix it correctly make me glad I won't need another truck any time soon.ROBERT F.

Everything about this experience was frustrating. I was asked for a 2nd contact phone number, which I don't have because I only use a cell phone, so I gave my mother's. He then asked for an emergency contact number and had to give my stepmom's phone AND address. After he bumbled through the process, he asked me to pick a code and then said "Really?" after I gave him one. He handed me the paperwork after with no instructions. I had to ask him what my storage number was and where to go. He just pointed and I had to figure it out myself. The code I gave him also didn't work and had to go back to the office to get a temporary one since custom ones "don't work right away." I've stored stuff at other U-Haul locations and loved it... Very helpful staff and convenient equipment like rolling carts. But this place... let's just say I will only be there a month until I find better accommodations.FELICIA M. | First Impressions

The U-Haul resevation person did not reserve my storage bin like we discuussed, by me renting a trailer I qualified for one month of free storage. When I got to the drop off center in Clinton, Tn to uinload my trailer, I didn't have a resevation and the person working at the Clinton location informed me that he was not going to give me the sized storage bin that I need for free. The service provider would oly give me the sized storage bin that he thought I needed, which I explained to him was not large enough to accomadate all of my belongings, he told me that he did not care and that it was. To makke a long story short I ended up with a storage bin that is way to small and I've had to find somewhere else to store my things.Carey L. | First Impressions

After driving 6 hours to get to the storage unit we were VERY displeased with how rude the guy was that helped us. I had reserved a unit but when I got there they said that they didn’t have any available.. and only gave me one unit that was a 5x10 when I ordered a 10x10... clearly I needed a 10x10 because of the amount of room needed..But thankfully the owner was able to get everything straighten out for us. The climate control wasn't worth the extra expense, as temps weren't well monitored-often too hot. My unit leaked during an especially heavy rain. Items mysteriously disappeared out of it & the lock would sometimes be turned backwards from the way I placed it. Since the new office & truck facility was built next door, it seemed that there were no cameras on the actual storage units, & a property next to it could have provided access over the fence due to the difference in ground levels.
