The fuel charges are ridiculous. My total milage was around 50 miles. I did not put gas in the truck. I expected to pay a little extra upon my return. But $36 and an additional $30. $66 for a couple gallons of fuel. Unacceptable. I will not likely use you guys again.ANTHONY R.

Said the vehicle was Full, but it definitely wasn't when comparing the before and after fuel gauge indicator, besides the fact I only got 6.1 mpg over 187 miles if I did fill it up to where it was when I started.John M.

I waited 45 minutes in line to get to the register to even begin the process to get my u-haul. Major inconvenience the staff was pleasant thoughAnn J.
I took pictures of the mileage before I left and the mileage and tank levels after I replaced the fuel I consumed after driving the trick for 32 miles. I hail charged me another $20 for the fuel they incorrectly believed I should have replaced. I admit to making two mistakes here. One was not taking a photo of the fuel gauge before driving off the lot and to not retaining the receipt. I paid cash for $21 in fuel. I confronted the manager and I understand why they wanted proof. I think it is pretty bad that they immediately believe I am trying to cheat them out of $20 in fuel and the opportunities he gave me to correct the record I could not present proof, but it seems the most important Consideration was Halacka recognizing my ethics. For them to believe that I was intentionally trying to steal $20 in fuel is a pretty sad state of affairs of our corporate America.James D.
I made the reservation online and it was a local rental, but the website gave me another location to return the truck that was just a few miles away. I thought that was strange but was OK with taking it to the other location when I was done. When I picked the truck up the Manager checking me out asked if it was a one-way rental and I said no, I was using it locally, but the website instructed me to return it to the other location which he knew was only a few miles away. He just said "OK" like it was normal. When I returned the truck to the other location they said that I was charged more because it was one-way rental. I was in the same area of town! We reached out to customer service but they basically said - oh well, nothing we can do about it. I hope U-Haul uses the extra money they got off my business in a good way, because it is the last time I use them. There are other options.Robert S.

by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I felt like I was being racially profiled and targeted. I was told at the Glen Burnie location I would receive my hundred dollar deposit back when I return the truck. I did not receive it back then. I was told to come back tomorrow and that someone would call me and let me know when the manager would be in. Never once did anybody ever called me, I had to call multiple times. Then when I did go up there after told the manager would be there, he was not there and I was still unable to receive my money. I had to call yet a third time and this time I went up there to get my money and I was rudely spoken to by the manager. Also recorded without my permission by the manager. And I did not receive my money back as I was told, I was told I would receive a back to my card. Then I was told I would receive it in cash. But the manager was being petty and told me I would have to receive a check in the mail. I will never be doing business with U-Haul after my experience at this location. And I will be calling corporate to file a complaintallure E.

Dropped off a trailer a day after renting (3 day rental). Was told that I was all set and I had finished my return. One week later I have a $120 charge for additional days. My return was never processed and when I went to the location to find out what happened I was told that they had multiple trailers that they â€œdidn't know where they belongedâ€. Their way to rectify this problem was to blindly process returns and overcharge myself and possibly others without any information. Make sure these employees do their job and ask for a paper or email receipt as this is where my fault lies.John O.

Check to make sure the trucks you're renting out are actually cleaned out, don't have holes in the damn roof of the cargo area and that there's enough gas in the truck to make it to a gas station. Renting out a truck that hadn't been cleaned out, had holes in the roof, was barely above E on the gas gauge is kind of unprofessional. The employees were very helpful and kind, though. My vehicle was a Ford with 150k+ miles on it. The steering was strange, puling to the right at times. That one may need some work in that department is it will be kept and used a while longer. It didn't feel unsafe, just seemed to need some attention. It was clean outside, inside the cab, and in the enclosed hauling area. I have to rate GM based rental trucks a lot higher than those made by Ford, both in quality and gas mileage. My second Ford based rental and it had the same problem as the first (Budget), it was difficult to maintain a constant speed, below and well above desired speed. Received the 10' box truck with a left back tire low. Had to fill the tire up 5X during my trip. Return truck way early by at least 4 hours. Filled all the way up for gas. Mentioned about the tire on return. Was charged for over mileage even with the tire issue. So basically I was driving a unsafe truckâ€¦.the young lady that helped at the beginning was busy and handled herself professionally and was kind and good spirits. I had a horrible experience with the trailer not being checked in appropriately. I don't know if this was the on site attend or a technical error. I was genuinely amazed at how helpful they were in assisting me (an out-of-state resident) rent a trailer, get it hooked up... and then replace the old UHaul wiring that wasn't working. The site had both our scheduled time and our vehicle model year wrong, even though it was correct on my initial email confirmations. The installer said the hitch did not fit right and that he had to leave the muffler vibrating where it touched the hitch. We now have a hole in our muffler. I did not have time to refuse the installation as my wife was leaving only days later with a trailer. What a fiasco (and to think I paid money for it). Now I have to pay to remove the hitch and fix the muffler.Christian D.

I called U-Haul to secure storage. They told me the location I wanted was not available but the 4788 Dorchester facility had a unit available and booked it for me. When I showed up the next day it took over an hour to get the unit ONCE it was my turn in line. Finally received unit, went to unit and took another half hour for them to figure out that the unit was not available and I would have to go to another place. Wasted well over two hours on a day when I was already running a very tight schedule. The attitude of the gentleman helping me with General Manager on his shirt was one of frustration and total lack of compassion. He didn't know how to work the system and kept blaming me for not telling him that I was looking for the first month free storage. I figured since I had already made the reservation and had my contract with me which was up on the counter the whole time, he would recognize this. Had he asked I certainly would have told him. Also once he verified that there were locks on the locker I was supposed to have he went back to computer, spent a few minutes punching some keys and said, "Yep, I was right. I didn't think we had any storage. That's why I asked if you had a reservation" When he asked if I had a reservation, he didn't know I had one for storage. He asked in general. So if he knew way back then he didn't have storage why didn't he tell me then instead of wasting over an hour of my time. And why didn't he believe me when I said there were locks on the storage. I rented a 10x10x8 unit where the door and latch didn’t match up correctly. The round lock I was forced to buy would not work in the lower latch hole so I had use another lock. When I returned a week later I’m locked out. The staff guy refused to unlock the unit so I could unlock my stuff. We finally had to stop all your customers that were waiting so we could force the staff guy to unlock our unit. Upon removing boxes from storage, all stored along the cement wall had mold. The boxes on the floor had water damage. We were on the second floor and unsure how they had water damage. Shelving units - the shelves themselves, also had water damage on the bottom and therefore are no longer useful.
